  Oracle Secure Global Desktop provides secure access to centralized applications—Microsoft Windows, UNIX, mainframe, and midrange—from a wide variety of popular client devices, including Windows PCs, Oracle Solaris workstations, Linux PCs, and thin clients. Secure Global Desktop is certified for use with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2008 virtualized environments acting as desktop clients connecting to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 environments.  32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows Server are certified. These combinations may also be used in conjunction with Oracle VM, if required. How does this work? For example, a Secure Desktop Client can connect to a Secure Global Desktop environment.  That environment can be running Microsoft Server 2008.  That environment can be used, in turn, as a "desktop client" to access Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3. • How can I "diff" two files with Nautilus?

  I have installed Meld and found out it's a great comparing tool. Unfortunately there is no integration with Nautilus 3.2. This means, I can't right click on files and select an option to open them in Meld for comparison. I have seen in the tools comment that the tool need the diff-ext package to be installed. This package has been removed from Ubuntu universe, I am guessing because gtk 3.0. Even if I manually downloaded from source forge the diff-ext package, when I try to configure it the check fails with the message: checking for DIFF_EXT... configure: error: Package requirements (libnautilus-extension >= 2.14.0 gconf-2.0 >= 2.14.0 gnome-vfs-module-2.0 >= 2.14) were not met: No package 'libnautilus-extension' found No package 'gconf-2.0' found No package 'gnome-vfs-module-2.0' found Ok, so from this output I gather that indeed gtk 2 is being required to install the diff extension to nautilus. Now, my question is: Is there a possibility to integrate Meld into Nautilus? Or, are there any other diff based tool which integrate with current Nautilus? So gtk3 based. I am using Ubuntu 11.10 if there was any doubt so far. cheers and thanks in advance.

• Why Hebrew letters in the address bar break the ARR gateway (Only With Explorer 8,9,10)?

  The ARR is working great in all browsers except Internet Explorer 8,9,10. When I paste Hebrew URL directly to the address bar it's working good, but when I surf (click on a simple href URL) from one Hebrew URL page to another Hebrew URL the ARR return me that error: "502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server." There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server. I checked it number of times including with HTTP analyzer and I saw that the "referer" is making all the problems and cause to that error. For example when I enter to that page: mydomain.com/somehebrewchars (mydomain.com/???? you will need Hebrew install) And click in the page on a link to: mydomain.com/somehebrewchars2 (mydomain.com/???????? you will need Hebrew install) I will get the error above and when you look at the referrer you will see something like that: mydomain.com/עמוד-× ×—×™×ª×” We use other proxies application to others projects and we don't have the same issue like that. For this example we used WIN 2008 and 2012 with ARR 2.5 and also 3 beta. Any help is welcome :-) Thanks, Noam

• IIS Windows Authentication not working in Internet Explorer via host name; works via IP

  I'm trying to get a new Windows Server 2003 box working to host an ASP.NET application that uses Windows Authentication. Here's some info: IIS Anonymous Access is diabled IIS Integrated Windows Authentication is enabled I've tried it with and without Digest Authentication and it is the same result Both my machine and the server are in same active directory domain on the same intranet I'm using IE 6 My symptoms: In Firefox, via either IP or host name, a login box pops up, and if I enter my NT credentials, it works. In IE, via the server IP address, it works perfectly with no login box. In IE, via the server host name, it pops up a login box but even if I put in the correct credentials, it just pops up the box again. This is the problem. Why won't windows auth work in IE via host name but it will via IP address? Edit: Here's something else interesting. If I go into my Internet Explorer advanced settings and disable Windows Authentication, it seems to work just fine. And by work I mean that my test .NET app sees my NT ID as the current user.

• PLS HLP Chrome & Internet Explorer won't connect after infected Fire Fox works.

  HI Guys Please Help I am pretty New Here. I'm having problems. Cannot connect with chrome or Internet Explorer. Fire Fox works fine. It seems it happens when I was infected by a "Trojan Horse Generic 17.BWIK" and a "Trojan Horse SHeur.UHL", when I reply to a post for a Thread I posted. I have removed the treat and got Fire Fox working, "so i think", but not G'Chrome or IE still cannot connect. I do not want to loose Chrome History so re-setting would be my last option and uninstall and install will be out of the question. Is there a way around this? I am using XP Pro on a desktop and DSL connection. Be aware from "Fake_Antispyware.FAH", which I had on my computer, I just found out while doing this, according to my AVG anti-virus security. Please can you direct me for a cure. Thank you in advance for your sincere willingness contributions.

  I don't really care too much about replacing original Windows the desktop, taskbar and system tray. I really dislike the new Win7/Vista Windows Explorer: Screenshot here (just to make sure there's no confusion) So, what I'm trying to figure out is whether BB4Win or its plugins have a replacement for it. The bb4win website pretty much doesn't make sense to me. I'm using Win7 64 bit. Also, off-topic ... I wanted to ask the same question I'm asking now as a comment under the answer given by Molly7244, the person who answered with suggesting BB4Win. • Gacutil.exe successfully adds assembly, but assembly not viewable in explorer. Why?

  I'm running GacUtil.exe from within Visual Studio Command Prompt 2010 to register a dll (CatalogPromotion.dll) to the GAC. After running the utility, it says Assembly Successfully added to the cache, and running gacutil /l CatalogPromotionDll shows that the GAC contains the assembly, but I can't see the assembly when I navigate to C:\WINDOWS\assembly from Windows Explorer. Why can't I see the assembly in WINDOWS\assembly from Windows Explorer but I can see it using gacutil.exe?   I'm configuring development & test FreeBSD machine on VM. I installed apache22 package and restarted. Because this is temporary test box, it has no real domain-name. But I used 2-level name to avoid long time waiting of sshd on booting. Today we show you how to quickly use the Aero Snap feature get it done in few key strokes in Windows 7. You can of course navigate the windows in Explorer to get them so you can see everything side by side, or use a free utility like Cubic Explorer.   Getting Explorer Windows Side by Side The process is actually simple but quite useful when looking for a large amount of data. Right-click the Windows Explorer icon on the taskbar and click Windows Explorer. Our first window opens up and you can certainly drag it over the the right or left side of the screen but the quickest method we’re using is the “Windows Key+Right Arrow” key combo (make sure to hold the Windows key down). Now the Windows is nicely placed on the right side. Next we want to open the other window, simply right-click the Explorer icon again and click Windows Explorer.   Now we have our second window open, and all we need to do this time is use the Windows Key+Left Arrow combination. There we go! Now you should be able to browse your files a lot more simply than relying on the expanding tree method (as much). You can actually use this method to snap a window to all four corners of your screen if you don’t feel like dragging it. Once you play with Aero Snap more you may enjoy it, but if you still despise it, you can disable it too! • My Automated NuGet Workflow

  When we develop libraries (whether internal or public), it helps to have a rapid ability to make changes and test them in a consuming application. Building Setup the library with automatic versioning and a nuspec Setup library assembly version to auto increment build and revision AssemblyInfo –> [assembly: AssemblyVersion("1.0.*")] This autoincrements build and revision based on time of build Major & Minor Major should be changed when you have breaking changes Minor should be changed once you have a solid new release During development I don’t increment these Create a nuspec, version this with the code nuspec - set version to <version>$version$</version> This uses the assembly’s version, which is auto-incrementing Make changes to code Run automated build (ruby/rake) run “rake nuget” nuget task builds nuget package and copies it to a local nuget feed I use an environment variable to point at this so I can change it on a machine level! The nuget command below assumes a nuspec is checked in called Library.nuspec next to the csproj file $projectSolution = 'src\\Library.sln' $nugetFeedPath = ENV["NuGetDevFeed"] msbuild :build => [:clean] do |msb| msb.properties :configuration => :Release msb.targets :Build msb.solution = $projectSolution end task :nuget => [:build] do sh "nuget pack src\\Library\\Library.csproj /OutputDirectory " + $nugetFeedPath end Setup the local nuget feed as a nuget package source (this is only required once per machine) Go to the consuming project Update the package Update-Package Library or Install-Package TLDR change library code run “rake nuget” run “Update-Package library” in the consuming application build/test! If you manually execute any of this process, especially copying files, you will find it a burden to develop the library and will find yourself dreading it, and even worse, making changes downstream instead of updating the shared library for everyone’s sake. Publishing Once you have a set of changes that you want to release, consider versioning and possibly increment the minor version if needed. Pick the package out of your local feed, and copy it to a public / shared feed! I have a script to do this where I can drop the package on a batch file Replace apikey with your nuget feed's apikey Take out the confirm(s) if you don't want them @ECHO off echo Upload %1? set /P anykey="Hit enter to continue " nuget push %1 apikey set /P anykey="Done " Note: helps to prune all the unnecessary versions during testing from your local feed once you are done and ready to publish TLDR consider version number run command to copy to public feed

• Is it possible to only allow specific packages updates from a PPA

  Let us say I have added a PPA that has X package that I want but it also has Y package that I do not want to use or receive updates from. How can I, from the same PPA, receive updates for a specific package but deny updates from the same PPA for other packages. A step by step example would be good since this has happened to me in several PPAs that have a particular package I want but also add a whole bunch of others that I do not yet want to update.
