  • UIWebView in multithread ViewController

    - by Tao
    I have a UIWebView in a viewcontroller, which has two methods as below. The question is if I pop out(tap back on navigation bar) this controller before the second thread is done, the app will crash after [super dealloc], because "Tried to obtain the web lock from a thread other than the main thread or the web thread. This may be a result of calling to UIKit from a secondary thread.". Any help would be really appreciated. -(void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; NSInvocationOperation *operation = [[NSInvocationOperation alloc] initWithTarget:self selector:@selector(load) object:nil]; [operationQueue addOperation:operation]; [operation release]; } -(void)load { [NSThread sleepForTimeInterval:5]; [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(done) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO]; }

  • Project organization in perforce

    - by Chupa
    Hello. I created several web applications that use the same static files (css, js, images). When I use svn for version control, I use an external repository (svn: externals) to add files to the current project. For example: - Project_1 ---- Webapp -------- Static (external to static's repo) - Project_2 ---- Webapp -------- Static (external to static's repo) I could easily use it in their web pages by adding a link like /static/ ... But now our company has moved to perforce. How can I support the current structure? We also use maven, I think to pack these files as a jar and use as a dependency, but then my editor (idea) does not see that this dependence are js-scripts and styles. And i need to repackage and deploy jar file when create minor changes. How to use maven correctly?

  • Threading multiple WebBrowser in VB .net

    - by Code_Seeker
    I'm building a multiple webbrowser inside tabs( 1 predefine webbrowser control per tab) and I want them all to load at the same time or other words must run in thread. Unfortunately I feel a valid fact came from the error message that this is something not possible. Pls help me to check my simple program code below and its error in case i tried releasing 2 webbrowser controls but when I leave it to single web browser control it works fine. Any workaround? Imports System.Threading Public Class Form1 Dim mythread1 As Thread Dim mythread2 As Thread Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load mythread1 = New Thread(AddressOf mysub1) mythread2 = New Thread(AddressOf mysub2) mythread1.IsBackground = True mythread2.IsBackground = True mythread1.Start() mythread2.Start() End Sub Public Sub mysub1() Dim HTML As String WebBrowser1.Navigate("about:blank") mythread1.Abort() End Sub Public Sub mysub2() WebBrowser2.Navigate("about:blank") mythread2.Abort() End Sub

  • In MAYA 2009, is it possible to capture the cube rotate event?

    - by Rahul2047
    I need to call a function ( Maya-Python ) based on cube rotationX. For that I have to capture the event, programmatically. I tried using while loop but It stucks in the loop, Nothing can be done in that time. I tried theading (python), still same. Can it be done this or other way? If yes, How? Maya 2009 in Windows XP Some failed code references: import maya.cmds as cmds while (count < 90): lock = cmds.getAttr('pCube1.rotateX',lock=False) print lock count = count + 1 Here Python wise: #!/usr/bin/python import thread import time # Define a function for the thread def cubeRotateX( threadName, delay): count = 0 while count < 5: time.sleep(delay) count += 1 try: thread.start_new_thread( cubeRotateX, ("Thread-1", 2, ) ) except: print "Error: unable to start thread" while 1: pass

  • Program-wide data, C++

    - by bobobobo
    I'd like to make program-wide data in a C++ program. The easiest way to do it in C# is just public static members. C#: public static class DataContainer { public static Object data1 ; public static Object data2 ; } In C++ you can do the same thing C++ global data way#1: class DataContainer { public: static Object data1 ; static Object data2 ; } ; Object DataContainer::data1 ; Object DataContainer::data2 ; However there's also extern C++ global data way #2: class DataContainer { public: Object data1 ; Object data2 ; } ; extern DataContainer * dataContainer ; // instantiate in .cpp file Which is better, or possibly another way which I haven't thought about?

  • Why doesn't Perl threading work when I call readdir beforehand?

    - by Kevin
    Whenever I call readdir before I create a thread, I get an error that looks like this: perl(2820,0x7fff70c33ca0) malloc: * error for object 0x10082e600: pointer being freed was not allocated * set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug Abort trap What's strange is that it happens when I call readdir before I create a thread (i.e. readdir is not called in any concurrent code). I don't even use the results from readdir, just making the call to it seems to screw things up. When I get rid of it, things seem to work fine. Some example code is below: opendir(DIR, $someDir); my @allFiles = readdir(DIR); close(DIR); my $thread = threads-create(\&sub1); $thread-join(); sub sub1 { print "in thread\n" }

  • passing multiple queries to view with codeigniter

    - by LvS
    I am trying to build a forum with Codeigniter. So far i have the forums themselves displayed and the threads displayed, based on the creating dynamic news tutorial. But that is 2 different pages, i need to obviously display them into one page, like this: Forum 1 - thread 1 - thread 2 - thread 3 Forum 2 - thread 1 - thread 2 etc. And then the next step is obviously to display all the posts in a thread. Most likely with some pagination going on. But that is for later. For now i have the forum controller (slimmed version): <?php class Forum extends CI_Controller { public function __construct() { parent::__construct(); $this->load->model('forum_model'); $this->lang->load('forum'); $this->lang->load('dutch'); } public function index() { $data['forums'] = $this->forum_model->get_forums(); $data['title'] = $this->lang->line('title'); $data['view'] = $this->lang->line('view'); $this->load->view('templates/header', $data); $this->load->view('forum/index', $data); $this->load->view('templates/footer'); } public function view($slug) { $data['forum_item'] = $this->forum_model->get_forums($slug); if (empty($data['forum_item'])) { show_404(); } $data['title'] = $data['forum_item']['title']; $this->load->view('templates/header', $data); $this->load->view('forum/view', $data); $this->load->view('templates/footer'); } } ?> And the forum_model (also slimmed down) <?php class Forum_model extends CI_Model { public function __construct() { $this->load->database(); } public function get_forums($slug = FALSE) { if ($slug === FALSE) { $query= $this->db->get('forum'); return $query->result_array(); } $query = $this->db->get_where('forum', array('slug' => $slug)); return $query->row_array(); } public function get_threads($forumid, $limit, $offset) { $query = $this->db->get_where('thread', array('forumid', $forumid), $limit, $offset); return $query->result_array(); } } ?> And the view file <?php foreach ($forums as $forum_item): ?> <h2><?=$forum_item['title']?></h2> <div id="main"> <?=$forum_item['description']?> </div> <p><a href="forum/<?php echo $forum_item['slug'] ?>"><?=$view?></a></p> <?php endforeach ?> Now that last one, i would like to have something like this: <?php foreach ($forums as $forum_item): ?> <h2><?=$forum_item['title']?></h2> <div id="main"> <?=$forum_item['description']?> </div> <?php foreach ($threads as $thread_item): ?> <h2><?php echo $thread_item['title'] ?></h2> <p><a href="thread/<?php echo $thread_item['slug'] ?>"><?=$view?></a></p> <?php endforeach ?> <?php endforeach ?> But the question is, how do i get the model to return like a double query to the view, so that it contains both the forums and the threads within each forum. I tried to make a foreach loop in the get_forum function, but when i do this: public function get_forums($slug = FALSE) { if ($slug === FALSE) { $query= $this->db->get('forum'); foreach ($query->row_array() as $forum_item) { $thread_query=$this->get_threads($forum_item->forumid, 50, 0); } return $query->result_array(); } $query = $this->db->get_where('forum', array('slug' => $slug)); return $query->row_array(); } i get the error A PHP Error was encountered Severity: Notice Message: Trying to get property of non-object Filename: models/forum_model.php Line Number: 16 I hope anyone has some good tips, thanks! Lenny *EDIT*** Thanks for the feedback. I have been puzzling and this seems to work now :) $query= $this->db->get('forum'); foreach ($query->result() as $forum_item) { $forum[$forum_item->forumid]['title']=$forum_item->title; $thread_query=$this->db->get_where('thread', array('forumid' => $forum_item->forumid), 20, 0); foreach ($thread_query->result() as $thread_item) { $forum[$forum_item->forumid]['thread'][]=$thread_item->title; } } return $forum; } What is now next, is how to display this multidimensional array in the view, with foreach statements.... Any suggestions ? Thanks

  • Two loops speeds drawing in a Jframe

    - by noahn567
    I have a program that requires two classes. The player-Names class, and the Player-Model class. I want the player-Names class to repaint every half second, and the Player-Model class to repaint 60 times per second because i want the movement to be smooth. The problem that i am having is that i want all of this to be done on one J-frame. How would i go about doing this? If you could lead me in the right direction or give me a little example that would be great! Thank you :). for some reason it wont let me post so i'm going to put in some random code import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Font; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.RenderingHints; import javax.swing.JComponent; import javax.swing.JFrame; public class PlayerNames extends JFrame { static int connectionTimer = 0; static int connectionTimer2 = 0; static int reconnect = 0; static int reconnectValue = 1; static int x = 0; static int reconnectWait = connectionTimer + reconnectValue; private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; public graph gg = new graph(); public graph g = new graph(); private static GameClient socketClient; private GameServer socketServer; public static void main(int width, int height) { PlayerNames tt = new PlayerNames(); // PlayerGraphics t = new PlayerGraphics(); tt.setSize(width, height); if (Game.ServerOwner == 1) { tt.setTitle("Server: " + Game.username); } else { tt.setTitle("Username: " + Game.username); } tt.setVisible(true); tt.getContentPane().add(tt.gg); tt.getContentPane().add(tt.g); tt.setDefaultCloseOperation(EXIT_ON_CLOSE); tt.setResizable(false); }

  • Can someone explain this java interface to me please?

    - by Karl Patrick
    I realize that the method run must be declared because its declared in the runnable interface. But my question comes when this class runs how is the Thread object allowed if there is no import call to a particular package? how does runnable know anything about Thread or its methods? does the runnable interface extend the thread class? Obviously i dont understand interfaces very well. thanks in advance. class PrimeFinder implements Runnable{ public long target; public long prime; public boolean finished = false; public Thread runner; PrimeFinder(long inTarget){ target = inTarget; if(runner == null){ runner = new Thread(this); runner.start() } } public void run(){ } }

  • C# Threading and Sql Connections

    - by Jonathan M
    I have a method that attempts to update a sql server database in an ASP.NET application. If the update fails, it catches the exception and then queues the update in MSMQ, and then spins up a new thread that will later de-queue the pending update and try again. When the thread starts, it fails to open a database connection because it is attempting to connect using Network Service as the login. The sql connection is using Windows Authentication, and will work outside of the thread. If I put a breakpoint in the code that executes inside the new thread and check the Thread.CurrentPrincipal, it shows the Identity as being the correct user. Why is the sql connection attempting to be opened by the Network Service account? I can elaborate further is necessary. Thanks.

  • Qt Direct Connection

    - by user152508
    Hello I have created Qt tree control( and its nodes ) in different thread than the main thread. In the main thread I want to show context menu for the clicked node, so I am connectiong the actions in the menu with appropriate slots in the main thread. The connect function returns true , but slot is never executed. If I explicitly say in connect function that this is Qt :: DirectConnection then everything works fine. Why is this ? I I create my tree in main thread, everything also works fine , without having to say that this is Qt::DirectConnection .

  • Spring 3.0 MVC mvc:view-controller tag

    - by gouki
    Here's a snippet of my mvc-config.xml <bean class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalResourceViewResolver"> <property name="prefix" value="/WEB-INF/views/"/> <property name="suffix" value=".jsp"/> </bean> <mvc:view-controller path="/index" view-name="welcome"/> <mvc:view-controller path="/static/login" view-name="/static/login"/> <mvc:view-controller path="/login" view-name="/static/login"/> I have the welcome.jsp on /WEB-INF/view/ directory and login.jsp on /WEB-INF/view/static/. This work for '/index' and '/login' paths. But I'm getting 404 response for '/static/login' when invoked from the browser. I'm expecting that '/static/login/' and '/login' should behave the same. What could be wrong here? Would appreciate any help. Thanks!

  • What strategies are efficient to handle concurrent reads on heterogeneous multi-core architectures?

    - by fabrizioM
    I am tackling the challenge of using both the capabilities of a 8 core machine and a high-end GPU (Tesla 10). I have one big input file, one thread for each core, and one for the the GPU handling. The Gpu thread, to be efficient, needs a big number of lines from the input, while the Cpu thread needs only one line to proceed (storing multiple lines in a temp buffer was slower). The file doesn't need to be read sequentially. I am using boost. My strategy is to have a mutex on the input stream and each thread locks - unlocks it. This is not optimal because the gpu thread should have a higher precedence when locking the mutex, being the fastest and the most demanding one. I can come up with different solutions but before rush into implementation I would like to have some guidelines. What approach do you use / recommend ?

  • Django + dbxml + Apache = problems. Any solutions?

    - by Jason
    I'm trying to set up a Django application using WSGI. That works fine. However, I am having some issues with part of my Django app that uses BDB XML. My Apache config is as follows: Listen 8000 WSGISocketPrefix /tmp/wsgi <VirtualHost *:8000> ServerName <server name> DocumentRoot <path to doc root> LogLevel info WSGIScriptAlias / <path to wsgi> WSGIApplicationGroup %{GLOBAL} WSGIDaemonProcess debug threads=1 WSGIProcessGroup debug </VirtualHost> However, I'm still getting the following error: DB_ENV->repmgr_stat interface requires an environment configured for the replication subsystem [error] child died with signal 11 My environment is opened as: environment = DBEnv() environment.open( <absolute db env path>, DB_CREATE|DB_INIT_LOCK|DB_INIT_LOG|DB_INIT_MPOOL, 0 ) I am using: python 2.6.2 apache 2.2 ubuntu 9.04 dbxml 2.5.13 compiled from source (so libdb-4.8, bsddb3, all that jazz) I see Apache seems to link to libdb-4.6. • Grails Unique Constraint for Groups

    Hi there, I have the following requirement I have 3 domains namely: class Product { String productName static constraints = { productName(unique:true,blank:false) } class SubType { String subTypeName static constraints = { subTypeName(unique:true,blank:false) } String toString() { "${subTypeName}" } } class CLType { String TypeName static belongsTo = Car static hasMany = [car:Cars] static constraints = { } String toString() { "${TypeName}" } class CLines implements Serializable { Dealer dealer CLType clType SubType subType Product product static constraints = { dealer(nullable:false,blank:false,unique:['subType','product','clType']) clType(blank:false,nullable:false) subType(nullable:true) product(nullable:true) } } I want to achieve this combination: A user can assign dealer a CLType. But cannot have duplicates. As an example consider this scenario Please let me know what to mention in my unqiue constraint to make this possible? Thanks, Much Appreciated.

    OK here is stripped down version of what I have in my app Artist domain: class Artist { String name Date lastMined def artistService static transients = ['artistService'] static hasMany = [events: Event] static constraints = { name(unique: true) lastMined(nullable: true) } def mine() { artistService.mine(this) } } Event domain: class Event { String name String details String country String town String place String url String date static belongsTo = [Artist] static hasMany = [artists: Artist] static constraints = { name(unique: true) url(unique: true) } } ArtistService: class ArtistService { def results = [ [ name:"name", details:"details", country:"country", town:"town", place:"place", url:"url", date:"date" ] ] def mine(Artist artist) { results << results[0] // now we have a duplicate results.each { def event = new Event(it) if (event.validate()) { if (artist.events.find{ it.name == event.name }) { log.info "grrr! valid duplicate name: ${event.name}" } artist.addToEvents(event) } } artist.lastMined = new Date() if (artist.events) { artist.save(flush: true) } } } In theory event.validate() should return false and event will not be added to artist, but it doesn't.. which results in DB exception on artist.save() Although I noticed that if duplicate event is persisted first everything works as intended. Is it bug or feature? :P

  • FileInputStream and FileOutputStream to the same file: Is a read() guaranteed to see all write()s that "happened before"?

    - by user946850
    I am using a file as a cache for big data. One thread writes to it sequentially, another thread reads it sequentially. Can I be sure that all data that has been written (by write()) in one thread can be read() from another thread, assuming a proper "happens-before" relationship in terms of the Java memory model? Is this behavior documented? EDIT: In my JDK, FileOutputSream does not override flush(), and OutputStream.flush() is empty. That's why I'm wondering... EDIT^2: The streams in question are owned exclusively by a class that I have full control of. Each stream is guaranteed to be accesses by one thread only. My tests show that it works as expected, but I'm still wondering if this is guaranteed and documented. • Django AND .htaccess rewrites/redirects, is this possible?

    - by Infinity
    Is it possible to have Apache htaccess rewrites take effect before it hits django? For example so I can redirect iPhone users to a completely different domain without even hitting django. We're using apache2 with mod_wsgi and the apache vhost looks like this: <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /usr/local/www/site/static Alias /css/ /usr/local/www/site/static/css/ Alias /js/ /usr/local/www/site/static/js/ Alias /img/ /usr/local/www/site/static/img/ Alias /flash/ /usr/local/www/site/static/flash/ <Directory /usr/local/www/site/static> AllowOverride All Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> WSGIDaemonProcess mallorca-site threads=15 WSGIScriptAlias / /usr/local/www/site/config/dev/dev.wsgi </VirtualHost> Thanks

  • What to use to wait on a indeterminate number of tasks?

    - by Scott Chamberlain
    I am still fairly new to parallel computing so I am not too sure which tool to use for the job. I have a System.Threading.Tasks.Task that needs to wait for n number number of tasks to finish before starting. The tricky part is some of its dependencies may start after this task starts (You are guaranteed to never hit 0 dependent tasks until they are all done). Here is kind of what is happening Parent thread creates somewhere between 1 and (NUMBER_OF_CPU_CORES - 1) tasks. Parent thread creates task to be run when all of the worker tasks are finished. Parent thread creates a monitoring thread Monitoring thread may kill a worker task or spawn a new task depending on load. I can figure out everything up to step 4. How do I get the task from step 2 to wait to run until any new worker threads created in step 4 finish?

  • Is this valid Java code?

    - by Eric
    I'm using Eclipse, and it is perfectly happy with the following code: public interface MessageType { public static final byte KICK = 0x01; public static final byte US_PING = 0x02; public static final byte GOAL_POS = 0x04; public static final byte SHUTDOWN = 0x08; public static final byte[] MESSAGES = new byte[] { KICK, US_PING, GOAL_POS, SHUTDOWN }; } public class MessageTest implements MessageType { public static void main(String[] args) { int b = MessageType.MESSAGES.length; //Not happy } } However, the platform that I'm running it on crashes at the line marked above. By crash, think an equivalent of a BSOD. Is there anything wrong with my code, or do I need to pursue the developers of the Java VM for my platform?

    - by JahSumbar
    hello, I have protected a std::queue's access functions, push, pop, size, with boost::mutexes and boost::mutex::scoped_lock in these functions from time to time it crashes in a scoped lock the call stack is this: 0 0x0040f005 boost::detail::win32::interlocked_bit_test_and_set include/boost/thread/win32/thread_primitives.hpp 361 1 0x0040e879 boost::detail::basic_timed_mutex::timed_lock include/boost/thread/win32/basic_timed_mutex.hpp 68 2 0x0040e9d3 boost::detail::basic_timed_mutex::lock include/boost/thread/win32/basic_timed_mutex.hpp 64 3 0x0040b96b boost::unique_lock<boost::mutex>::lock include/boost/thread/locks.hpp 349 4 0x0040b998 unique_lock include/boost/thread/locks.hpp 227 5 0x00403837 MyClass::inboxSize - this is my inboxSize function that uses this code: MyClass::inboxSize () { boost::mutex::scoped_lock scoped_lock(m_inboxMutex); return m_inbox.size(); } and the mutex is declared like this: boost::mutex m_inboxMutex; it crashes at the last pasted line in this function: inline bool interlocked_bit_test_and_set(long* x,long bit) { long const value=1<<bit; long old=*x; and x has this value: 0xababac17 Thanks for the help
