  • Can't mount time capsule via wi-fi.

    - by Grnmntn
I have an Apple time capsule, and have been able to back up to it without a problem for the past few months. However, today I found I cannot connect to the time capsule from Finder, though it appears there, when I click "connect as...", it takes a few seconds and then reports connect failed, "the server may not exist or it is not operational at this time. Check the server name or IP address and your network connection and try again". When I check Time Machine, it says the last backup failed because "the backup volume could not be mounted". The strange part is, the time capsule is also my router, and I am able to use the time capsule as a wireless access point without a problem. Any ideas?

  • Can't connect to Apple Time Capsule in home network using Home Plugs from Win 7 Machine

    - by Eugene
I have the following home network setup with subnet 255.255.255.0 but recently moved my time capsule to a different location when I added a third Home Plug and can no longer ping or map a network drive to it from the Windows 7 Machine. However using Airport Utility on the Windows 7 machine I can manually configure the Time Capsule. Using a Macbook on WIFI Network 1 or 2 - I can backup to the time capsule, so its accessible via both the router wifi network and the time capsule wifi network. The Time Capsule is set to BRIDGE function - ie no NAT or DHCP server enabled. Any bright sparks out there that can help diagnose the problem? • Split time in arbitrary periods, EXCEL

    - by Gabriel A. Zorrilla
    I have a list with date and quantity of items used IE: 2009.03.18 -1 2009.06.05 -2 2009.06.22 -1 2009.06.29 -2 2009.07.14 -1 2009.07.14 -1 2009.07.14 -2 2009.07.20 -2 2009.07.30 -1 2009.07.30 -1 2009.08.06 -1 2009.08.26 -1 2009.09.15 -1 2009.09.16 -2 2009.09.22 -2 2009.09.23 -2 2009.09.30 -2 2009.10.07 -1 2009.10.08 -2 2009.10.22 -1 2009.11.06 -3 2009.11.17 -2 2009.11.20 -1 2009.11.23 -2 2009.11.23 -1 2009.11.25 -2 2009.11.27 -1 2009.12.02 -2 I need to know how much items i consumed in a determined period, ie, 15 days. I can do it in a monthly basis, basically using the month function to extract the month and work from there, but with an arbitrary time (which is the average lead time from my supplier) dont know how to get a function to split the date list in chunks of 15 (or whatever) days. Any tips? Thanks!

  • Excel 2007: Using a time to set XY chart axis scaling like in 2003

    - by CookieOfFortune
In Excel 2003, when you created a XY chart using time as an axis, you could set the scaling of these axes by typing in the date. In Excel 2007, you have to use the decimal version of the time (eg. How many days since some arbitrary earlier date). I was wondering if there was a way to avoid having to make such a calculation? A developer posted on a blog that this issue would be fixed in a future release, but all versions of Excel 2007 I have tried have not resolved this issue. The relevant quote: Those of you familiar with this technique of converting time to a decimal may recall that Excel 2003 allowed you to enter a date and time like “1/1/07 11:00 AM” directly in the axis option min/max fields and Excel would calculate the appropriate decimal representation. This currently does not work in Excel 2007 but will be fixed in a subsequent release.

  • Config Time Service on Server 2008 DC using Group Policy Only

    - by Ed Fries
I want to configure the Time Service using only GP in a Server 2008 R2 domain. I have created a GP as follows: Computer Config, Policies, Administrative Templates, System, Windows Time Policy: =Global Configuration Settings -Enabled w/ default settings. Computer Config, Policies, Administrative Templates, System, Windows Time Policy,Time Providers: =Configure Windows NTP Client -Enabled w/ default settings. =Enable Windows NTP Client -Enabled w/ default settings. =Enable Windows NTP Server -Enabled w/ default settings. The policy is linked, enforced and applied to Domain Controllers OU. The GP modeling results shows the policy is in effect on the DC (Single DC domain) and the DC is recognized as the PDC emulator. I have run gpupdate /force and logged off/on. The issue is that the DC shows the time source as internal. I understand I can force this at the cmd line using w32tm to set the peer but I would like to understand what is missing in the GP. The default NTP Client GP setting includes time.windows.com,0x9 as the source but it does not appear to be taking effect.

  • SQL SERVER – Get Date and Time From Current DateTime – SQL in Sixty Seconds #025 – Video

    - by pinaldave
This is 25th video of series SQL in Sixty Seconds we started a few months ago. Even though this is 25th video it seems like we have just started this few days ago. The best part of this SQL in Sixty Seconds is that one can learn something new in less than sixty seconds. There are many concepts which are not new for many but just we all have 60 seconds to refresh our memories. In this video I have touched a very simple question which I receive very frequently on this blog. Q1) How to get current date time? Q2) How to get Only Date from datetime? Q3) How to get Only Time from datetime? I have created a sixty second video on this subject and hopefully this will help many beginners in the SQL Server field. This sixty second video describes the same. Here is a similar script which I have used in the video. SELECT GETDATE() GO -- SQL Server 2000/2005 SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(8),GETDATE(),108) AS HourMinuteSecond, CONVERT(VARCHAR(8),GETDATE(),101) AS DateOnly; GO -- SQL Server 2008 Onwards SELECT CONVERT(TIME,GETDATE()) AS HourMinuteSeconds; SELECT CONVERT(DATE,GETDATE()) AS DateOnly; GO Related Tips in SQL in Sixty Seconds: Retrieve Current Date Time in SQL Server CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, GETDATE(), {fn NOW()} Get Time in Hour:Minute Format from a Datetime – Get Date Part Only from Datetime Get Current System Date Time Get Date Time in Any Format – UDF – User Defined Functions Date and Time Functions – EOMONTH() – A Quick Introduction DATE and TIME in SQL Server 2008 I encourage you to submit your ideas for SQL in Sixty Seconds. We will try to accommodate as many as we can. If we like your idea we promise to share with you educational material. • SQL SERVER – Retrieve SQL Server Installation Date Time

    - by pinaldave
I have been asked this question number of times and my answer always have been – search online and you will find the answer. Every single time when someone has followed my answer – they have found accurate answer in first few clicks. However increasingly this question getting very popular so I have decided to answer this question here. I usually prefer to create my own T-SQL script but in today’s case, I have taken the script from web. I have seen this script at so many places I do not know who is original creator so not sure who should get credit for the same. Question: How to retrieve SQL Server Installation date? Answer: Run following query and it will give you date of SQL Server Installation. SELECT create_date FROM sys.server_principals WHERE sid = 0x010100000000000512000000 Question: I have installed SQL Server Evaluation version how do I know what is the expiry date for it? Answer: SQL Server evaluation period is for 180 days. The expiration date is always 180 days from the initial installation. Following query will give an expiration date of evaluation version. -- Evaluation Version Expire Date SELECT create_date AS InstallationDate, DATEADD(DD, 180, create_date) AS 'Expiry Date' FROM sys.server_principals WHERE sid = 0x010100000000000512000000 GO I believe there is a way to do the same using registry but I have not explored it personally. Now as I said earlier there are many different blog posts on this subject. Let me list a few which I really enjoyed to read personally as they shared few more insights over this subject. • Get the equivalent time between "dynamic" time zones

    - by doctore
I have a table providers that has three columns (containing more columns but not important in this case): starttime, start time in which you can contact him. endtime, final hour in which you can contact him. region_id, region where the provider resides. In USA: California, Texas, etc. In UK: England, Scotland, etc starttime and endtime are time without timezone columns, but, "indirectly", their value has time zone of the region in which the provider resides. For example: starttime | endtime | region_id (time zone of region) | "real" st | "real" et ----------|----------|---------------------------------|-----------|----------- 03:00:00 | 17:00:00 | 1 (EGT => -1) | 02:00:00 | 16:00:00 Often I need to get the list of suppliers whose time range is within the current server time (taking into account the time zone conversion). The problem is that the time zones aren't "constant", ie, they may change during the summer time. However, this change is very specific to the region and not always carried out at the same time: EGT <= EGST, ART <= ARST, etc. The question is: 1. Is it necessary to use a webservice to update every so often the time zones in the regions? Does anyone know of a web service that can serve? 2. Is there a better approach to solve this problem? Thanks in advance. UPDATE I will give an example to clarify what I'm trying to get. In the table providers I found this records: idproviders | starttime | endtime | region_id ------------|-----------|----------|----------- 1 | 03:00:00 | 17:00:00 | 23 (Texas) 2 | 04:00:00 | 18:00:00 | 23 (Texas) If I execute the query in January, with this information: Server time (UTC offset) = 0 hours Texas providers (UTC offset) = +1 hour Server time = 02:00:00 I should get the following results: idproviders = 1 If I execute the query in June, with this information: Server time (UTC offset) = 0 hours Texas providers (UTC offset) = +2 hours (their local time has not changed, but their time zone has changed) Server time = 02:00:00 I should get the following results: idproviders = 1 and 2

  • Java type for date/time when using Oracle Date with Hibernate

    - by Marcus
We have a Oracle Date column. At first in our Java/Hibernate class we were using java.sql.Date. This worked but it didn't seem to store any time information in the database when we save so I changed the Java data type to Timestamp. Now we get this error: springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.dao.an notation.PersistenceExceptionTranslationPostProcessor#0' defined in class path resource [margin-service-domain -config.xml]: Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreatio nException: Error creating bean with name 'sessionFactory' defined in class path resource [m-service-doma in-config.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is org.hibernate.HibernateException: Wrong column type: CREATE_TS, expected: timestamp Any ideas on how to map an Oracle Date while retaining the time portion? Update: I can get it to work if I use the Oracle Timestamp data type but I don't want that level of precision ideally. Just want the basic Oracle Date.

  • Using SQL to calculate a date within a certain date range

    - by David Passmore
Hi, I'm using access 2007 and i am trying to set up a database to act as a library system, i need a function that automatically calculates a date 14 days after a given date i.e. Loan Date vs. Due Date. But the library is open only on certain Days. So i need the 14 days not to include the dates that are out of hours, like weekends and school holidays etc. I think i need to use Select Case or IIF's? Help would be appreciated! Thanks David

  • Excel: ROUND & MOD giving me strange DATE results

    - by Mike
This is sort of related to a previous question. My formula, which seemed to work fine yesterday now gives strange results. Today is the 30th of March (30/03/10). It's 10:11am on the clock that the computer is using for the time stamp in the NOW() part of my worksheet. Below is the formula and a screen shot of the results/columns. QUESTION: Why ddoes it show 1/2 day, and also where does 23 1/2 come from? The NOW() is in a hidden column (F2)...which I forgot to unhide before I took the screen shot. =IF(ISBLANK(I2),ROUND(MOD(H2-F2,24),2),ROUND(MOD(I2-F2,24),2)) Thanks Mike

  • Simple HTTP Framework and time issue

    - by Deniz Acay
I'm using Simple Framework for my recent project, and there is a problem with the date headers generated by the system. I can get my local time from Date class correctly, but setDate method of Simple's Response class sets date in milliseconds and when i do that by calling System.currentTimeInMillis, dates in response headers are incorrect. is there any way to solve this problem with Simple Framework? If not, what can i do except calling set method with a date string? Thanks in advance... EDIT: Date in the headers are in wrong timezone. And i also tried Calendar.getInstance().getTimeInMilis() method.

  • Checking if parsed date is within a date range

    - by Brett Powell
So I am using a scripting language with c++-like syntax, and I am trying to think of the best way to check if a date is within range. The problem I am running into is that if the current day is in a new month, the check is failing. Here is what my code looks like: if(iMonth >= iStartMonth && iMonth <= iEndMonth) { if(iDay >= iStartDay && iDay <= iEndDay) { if(iYear >= iStartYear && iYear <= iEndYear) { bEnabled = true; return; When I have something like this: Start date: 3 27 2010 End Date: 4 15 2010 Current Date: 3 31 2010 The day check fails because if (iDay <= iEndDay) does not pass. The scripting language doesn't have a lot of time related functions, and I can't compare timestamps because I'm allowing users to put like "03:27:2010" and "04:15:2010" as start/end dates in a config file. I'm assuming I am just not thinking straight and missing an easy fix.

  • GROUP BY a date, with ordering by date.

    - by standard
Take this simple query: SELECT DATE_FORMAT(someDate, '%y-%m-%d') as formattedDay FROM someTable GROUP BY formatterDay This will select rows from a table with only 1 row per date. How do I ensure that the row selected per date is the earliest for that date, without doing an ordered subquery in the FROM? Cheers

  • Convert UTC date to actual date and time

    - by evann
    I have a chart of bitcoin prices. I have the correct prices on the Y-axis, but I cannot get the correct time on the X-axis. The time shows up in a UTC format in my console. I am adding price and date to the series each iteration. I need to get the date of that particular result and find the YEAR, MONTH and DAY of that so I can put it in the right format. Any help is appreciated thanks. $.ajax({ url: "/chart/ajax_get_chart", // the URL of the controller action method dataType: "json", type: "GET", success: function (result) { var result = JSON.parse(result); series = []; for (var i = 0; i < result.length; i++) { tempArray = [parseFloat(result[i]['price'])]; tempDate = Date.parse(result[i]['date']); series.push(tempDate); series.push(tempArray); }

  • Date Compare Validator Control ASP.NET

    - by Sahanr
Compare two input dates to avoid invalid dates. In this example I have created two textboxes and namded as "TextBoxSeminarDate" and "TextBoxBookingDeadline". Booking deadline date must be before date to the Seminar date. Therefore I used Operator as "LesThanEqual". I have validated "TextBoxBookingDeadline" value comparing with the "TextBoxSeminarDate" value as follow.   <asp:CompareValidator ID="CompareValidatorBookingDeadline" runat="server" ControlToCompare="TextBoxSeminarDate" ControlToValidate="TextBoxBookingDeadline" Display="Dynamic" ErrorMessage="Please check the seminar date and select appropriate date for booking deadline" Operator="LessThanEqual" Type="Date"  ValueToCompare="<%= TextBoxSeminarDate.Text.ToShortString() %>">*</asp:CompareValidator> The important thing is "ValueToCompare" property of the compare validator. Here I have assined it to the value of the TextboxSeminarDate and then compered it with the booking deadline date.

  • iPhoto - add time to photo time

    - by Nippysaurus
I have taken some photos from a recent vacation, but forgot to set the "away" time, so the time is slightly off. Thats not much of an issue since its only an hour from my home time, but my partner also took photos, but she was smart enough to adjust the time, so when merged together the overlap is annoying. Is there an easy way (preferably in iPhoto) to adjust the time that the photos were taken?

  • linux/shell: change a file's modify timestamp relatively?

    - by index
My Canon camera produces files like IMG_1234.JPG and MVI_1234.AVI. It also timestamps those files. Unfortunately during a trip to another timezone several cameras were used, one of which did not have the correct time zone set - meta data mess.. Now I would like to correct this. Proposed algorithm: 1 read file's modify date 2 add delta, i.e. hhmmss (preferred: change timezone) 3 write new timestamp Unless someone knows a tool or a combination of tools that do the trick directly, maybe one could simplify the calculation using epoch time (seconds since ..) and whip up a shell script. Any help appreciated!
