    Below I have the code that allows me to edit a table row inline. However it edits ALL of the TDs within that row. My problem, along with the code, are stated below. Any help is appreciated. <tbody> <tr> <th scope="row">Test</th> <td class="amount">$124</td> <td class="amount" id="" >$154</td> <td class="diff">- 754</td> </tr> </tbody> The above table is just a sample. What I have been trying to accomplish is, to simply edit the TDs within that particular row, but I need it to disregard the diff TD.   • Is there a way to remove Alt-character shortcuts from controls at runtime?

    I have a dialog with a number of Alt-Letter shortcuts on labels for textboxes/etc. This dialog can present data in either an editable or a read-only mode. I've received a request to hide the underlines for the shortcuts if the dialog is in read only mode. Other than editing the label text at runtime (ugh) is there any way to remove them? If you don't know what I'm referring to by alt-Letter shortcuts see this question.

  • Copyrights concerning code snippets and larger amounts of code

    I am designing a public code repository. Users will be allowed to post and edit whatever amount of code they want, from code snippets to entire multi-file projects. I have a few major legal concerns about this: Not getting sued/shut down - I feel the site would be a much easier target than tracking down an individual user to sue. I have looked around a bit and see links to legal info in the footer of each page is common. What specific things should I do--and what does does a site such as YouTube (which I see copyrighted material on all the time) do--for protection? Citing sources and editing sourced code - If a user wants to post code that isn't theirs, what concerns/safeguards should I have? Will a link suffice, and what do I need further to allow the code to be edited (to improve it for example)? What can happen if a user posts copyrighted code without citing it? Large chunks of code - What legal differences should I look out for as the amount grows? Not having a mess of licenses for the site - I would like to have a single license (like RosettaCode) that keeps things simple for interaction on the site. I want the code to be postable and editable. I have looked into StackOverflow's CreativeCommons license a little and it says that If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under the same or similar license to this one. And on RosettaCode: All software found on Rosetta Code should be considered potentially hazardous. Use at your own risk.   • Windows 8 Resource Hacking encrypted UIFILE's

    In Windows 7 it was quite easy to modify resource files such as DLLs to make changes to the Windows interface. This was done by editing the UIFILE's using a program like Resource Hacker. However, now in Windows 8 it seems like some of the UIFILE's are encrypted and are no longer in plain text form and editable in Resource Hacker like they were before. Here's an example screenshot of what they look like now: I was hoping someone might be able to provide some insight into how I can decode this into the UIFILE XML and also compile it back into the DLL.

    I am using one Java program called JDownloader v0.9.581 and want to copy full file and link list from main scrolling window. JDownloader is not having any way to save full list as text file. I am already trying all programs from Is there any way a user can view or copy non-editable GUI controls' contents at runtime? and Read the contents of a ComboBox (or any other windows control) and also many other programs from Google like GetWindowText. But nothing is allowing me to copy full text from a Java program like this. Someone is telling me - do printscreen and OCR - but that is not good way for me.     I'm developing a 2D platformer with some uni friends. We've based it upon the XNA Platformer Starter Kit which uses .txt files to store the tile map. While this is simple it does not give us enough control and flexibility with level design. Some examples: for multiple layers of content multiple files are required, each object is fixed onto the grid, doesn't allow for rotation of objects, limited number of characters etc. So I'm doing some research into how to store the level data and map file. This concerns only the file system storage of the tile maps, not the data structure to be used by the game while it is running. The tile map is loaded into a 2D array, so this question is about which source to fill the array from. Reasoning for DB: From my perspective I see less redundancy of data using a database to store the tile data. Tiles in the same x,y position with the same characteristics can be reused from level to level. It seems like it would simple enough to write a method to retrieve all the tiles that are used in a particular level from the database. Reasoning for JSON/XML: Visually editable files, changes can be tracked via SVN a lot easier. But there is repeated content. Do either have any drawbacks (load times, access times, memory etc) compared to the other? And what is commonly used in the industry?   • Wordpress Showing White Text [closed]

    So I've heard about all the wordpress issues with plugins making the edit box show only white text. I've heard about how this is an issue and they're working to fix it. I think the issue I'm having is a bit different. I can see plain black clean nice readable editable text on most of the computers within my dept. However, one user is seeing the white text while using IE6. I've disabled and re-enabled all if his IE plugins including Gears and adobe. Still seeing the issue with just that one computer. I have run windows udpate, and cleared the cache, all cookies and cleaned up the registry. Still seeing white text. Checked user preferences, but noticed that any users using that computer to edit posts will see white text. Is there a fix or workaround?

    I am a beginner in Android and I want to create a very simple 2D game. I've already programmed a Tic-Tac-Toe game. The drawing of the game board and connecting it with my game and input logic was quite difficult (as it was done separately, canvas drawing, calculating positions, etc). By now I figured out that there must be a simpler way. All I want is a simple grid; something like this: http://www.blelb.com/deutsch/blelbspots/spot29/images/hermannneg.gif. The edges should be visible and black, and each cell editable, containing either an image or nothing, so I can detect if the player is on that cell or not, move it... Think of it as Chess or something similar. Searching the internet during the last days, I am a bit overwhelmed of all the different options. After all, I think Gridview or Gridlayout is what I am searching for, but I'm still stuck. I hope you can help me with some good advice or maybe a link to a nice tutorial. I have checked several already, and none were exactly what I was searching for.

  • Is using something other than XML advisable for my configuration file?

    I have a small tool I'm designing which would require a configuration file of some sort. The configuration file in my case is really more of a database, but it needs to be lightweight, and if needed the end-user should find it easily editable. However, it also will contain a lot of things in it. (depending on certain factors, could be 1Mb or more) I've decided I'd rather use plain ol' text, rather than trying to use SQLite or some such. However, with using text, I also have to deal with the variety of formats. So far, my options are XML JSON Custom format The data in my file is quite simple consisting for the most part of key-value type things. So, a custom format wouldn't be that difficult... but I'd rather not have to worry about writing the support for it. I've never seen JSON used for configuration files. And XML would bloat the file size substantially I think. (I also just has a dislike of XML in general). What should I do in this case? Factors to consider: This configuration file can be uploaded to a web service(so size matters) Users must be able to edit it by hand if necessary(ease of editing and reading matters) Must be able to generate and process automatically (speed doesn't matter a lot, but not excessively slow) The "keys" and "values" are plain strings, but must be escaped because they can contain anything. (unicode and escaping has to work easily)

  • Supporting copy 'n paste in your Windows Phone app

    Some Windows Phone 7 owners already have the NoDo update, and others are getting it soon. This update brings, among other things, copy & paste support for text boxes. The user taps on a piece of text (and can drag in either direction to select more/less words), a popup icon appears that when tapped copies the text to the clipboard, and then at any app that shows the soft input panel there is an icon option to paste the copied text into the associated textbox. For more read this 'how to'. Note that there is no programmatic access to the clipboard, only the end user experience I just summarized, so there is nothing you need to do for your app's textboxes to support copy & paste: it just works. The only issue may be if in your app you use static TextBlock controls, for which the copy support will not appear, of course. That was the case with my Translator by Moth app where the translated text appears in a TextBlock. So, I wanted the user to be able to copy directly from the translated text (without offering an editable TextBox for an area where user input does not make sense). Take a look at a screenshot of my app before I made any changes to it. I then made changes to it preserving the look and feel, yet with additional copy support (see screenshot on the right)! So how did I achieve that? Simply by using my co-author's template (thanks Peter!): Copyable TextBlock for Windows Phone.   (aside: in my app even without this change there is a workaround, the user could use the "swap" feature to swap the source and target, so they can copy from the text box) Comments about this post welcome at the original blog.

  • Can't edit a specific document in Word 2007

    I have a document in Word 2007 that seems to be read only. There are forms in the document that I can type in, but I can't edit or reformat the rest of the document. There is probably a setting somewhere I can flip to make it editable again but I can't find it for the life of me. FOLLOW UP: The "Protect Document" button only had "Unrestricted Access" checked, this was one of the first things I checked. However, when I tried checking "Restrict Formatting and Editing" it brought up the Restrict Formatting and Editing sidebar, which stated: This document is protected from unintentional editing. You may only fill in forms in this region. With a stop protection button on the bottom, which of course solved the problem. I think that menu item just has a bad name, it should be "Restrict Formatting and Editing Options or Settings"
