  • Detect numbers and process them ?

    Hi, I am trying to detect the numbers written on a grid and then process them using the iPhone camera. What i have found till yet are some good examples like: http://blog.damiles.com/?p=93 http://cmgresearch.blogspot.com/2010/01/augmented-reality-on-iphone-how-to_01.html Although I am able to draw the numbers on the overlay view to a good extent but still not able to detect what these numbers are. What I don't wanna do is to go through the whole AI process: training the system, providing the system whole set of values and then process them, because this is so much troublesome for me as well for the performance of my application. So guys having any idea or work arround for this please help. Thanks, Madhup

  • Customizing Bugzilla 4.0.2 Bug ID numbers

    Is it possible to customize Bugzilla bug numbers and add a letter designator, to immediately know it came from Bugzilla? My company is evaluating Bugzilla and has now added many new bugs. We also use 2 other bug databases. This wasn't my decision and I believe they were trying to incorporate better reporting, etc. I read an answer here about "seeding" Bugzilla bug numbers, by setting the "AUTO_INCREMENT" field in the "bugs" table to a different value. I wish I would've thought about this sooner and found this board. Setting that value to start at 9000 or some extraordinary value would have ensured that we knew exactly which bugs came from Bugzilla. However, would it be possible to change the field in the "bugs" table to accept letters, as well? Of course that would probably just mess up the whole auto incrementing of the numbers. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    let's rope I can make this non-sujective Here's the thing: Sometimes, on fixed-typed languages, I restrict input on methods and functions to positive numbers by using the unsigned types, like unsigned int or unsigned double, etc. Most libraries, however, doesn't seem to think that way. Take C# string.Length. It's a integer, even though it can never be negative. Same goes for C/C++: sqrt input is an int or a double. I know there are reasons for this ... for example your argument might be read from a file and (no idea why) you may prefer to send the value directly to the function and check for errors latter (or use a try-catch block). So, I'm assuming that libraries are way better designed than my own code. So what are the reasons against using unsigned numbers to represent positive numbers? It's because of overflow when we cast then back to signed types?

  • Data Validation for Random varying Phone Numbers

    I am storing phone numbers of varying lengths in my WPF (C#, VS 08) App. I store them as strings. My question is about my method AddNewPhoneNo(string phoneNo). In this method, I use Int.TryParse to validate the incoming number (i.e. not null, is numeric...). I've since realized this is probably not the best way to do this, because then I am limited to a number which is ± 2147483647. Definetly this is not always the case with phone numbers. What is a good, easy way to validate phone numbers? I guess the basic rules would be as follows: All numeric All positive Upto 25 chars (could be more, but this will to do for time being) Can't thing if theres any more rules at the moment, that's probably it.

  • Finding the most similar numbers across multiple lists in Python

    In Python, I have 3 lists of floating-point numbers (angles), in the range 0-360, and the lists are not the same length. I need to find the triplet (with 1 number from each list) in which the numbers are the closest. (It's highly unlikely that any of the numbers will be identical, since this is real-world data.) I was thinking of using a simple lowest-standard-deviation method to measure agreement, but I'm not sure of a good way to implement this. I could loop through each list, comparing the standard deviation of every possible combination using nested for loops, and have a temporary variable save the indices of the triplet that agrees the best, but I was wondering if anyone had a better or more elegant way to do something like this.     I have a range of long dates from Sep 2014 till Dec 2018, and for each month I have an amount. I want to sum up the data of each year in one cell. Example: 2014 : sum of all amounts that are in 2014 2015 : sum of all amounts that are in year 2015 Sep2014 oct2014 Nov2014 Dec2014 Jan2015 Feb2015 ... 100 200 250 150 20 50 I know that 2014 = 100+200+250+150 = 700, but I need a formula to search for all cells that include that year and sum up the numbers.

    Outlook has the ability to show week numbers down the side of the calendar in monthly view, and on the mini-calendar: In options, you can set the first week of the year, but only to the following three options: This is all very nice, but at work our "year" starts on a different date to match up with accounting periods - it's currently week 37 rather than 45! I'd like Outlook to be able to tell me which week it is at work, so is there any way I can set a custom date to be the first week of the year?

    In trying to set up SASL for dovecot on Ubuntu 11, I keep getting obsolete warnings in my log: Sep 10 15:33:53 server1 dovecot: config: Warning: Obsolete setting in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:24: passdb {} has been replaced by passdb { driver= } Sep 10 15:33:53 server1 dovecot: config: Warning: Obsolete setting in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:27: userdb {} has been replaced by userdb { driver= } Even though my dovecot.conf file looks like this: protocols = none auth default { mechanisms = plain login passdb { driver=pam } userdb { driver=passwd } socket listen { client { path = /var/spool/postfix/private/auth mode = 0660 user = postfix group = postfix } } } Even when I try: driver=etc/pam.d/dovecot driver=etc/passwd I still get the same error. Looking at the example config file: cat /usr/share/doc/dovecot-common/dovecot/example-config/dovecot.conf was of no help. Dovecot is running: ps -A | grep 'dovecot' 9663 ? 00:00:00 dovecot But I can't seem to get that elusive "dovecot-auth" process. Anyone know what's going on?

  • Handling extremely large numbers in a language which can't?

    I'm trying to think about how I would go about doing calculations on extremely large numbers (to infinitum - intergers no floats) if the language construct is incapable of handling numbers larger than a certain value. I am sure I am not the first nor the last to ask this question but the search terms I am using aren't giving me an algorithm to handle those situations. Rather most suggestions offer a language change or variable change, or talk about things that seem irrelevant to my search. So I need a little guideance. I would sketch out an algorithm like this: Determine the max length of the integer variable for the language. If a number is more than half the length of the max length of the variable split it in an array. (give a little play room) Array order [0] = the numbers most to the right [n-max] = numbers most to the left Ex. Num: 29392023 Array[0]:23, Array[1]: 20, array[2]: 39, array[3]:29 Since I established half the length of the variable as the mark off point I can then calculate the ones, tenths, hundredths, etc. Place via the halfway mark so that if a variable max length was 10 digits from 0 to 9999999999 then I know that by halfing that to five digits give me some play room. So if I add or multiply I can have a variable checker function that see that the sixth digit (from the right) of array[0] is the same place as the first digit (from the right) of array[1]. Dividing and subtracting have their own issues which I haven't thought about yet. I would like to know about the best implementations of supporting larger numbers than the program can.

  • MSSQL 2008 is claiming the firewall is blocking ports even from local machine

    I was just hoping to step through a couple queries to see how the temp tables are interacting and I'm getting this message. The windows firewall on this machine is currently blocking remote debugging. Remote debugging requires that the debugging be allowed to receive information from the network.Remote debugging also requires DCOM (TCP port 135) and IPSEC (UDP 4500/UDP500) be unblocked Even when I walked over to the actual machine and tried running the debugger, I'm still getting the same message. Am I missing something or does the debugger try to run remotely even from the local machine? Since this was meant to be just a quick check, I don't need instructions on how to open up the firewall, just hoping there is a way to run the debugger locally instead.

    Im tring to do an XOR on 2 hex numbers to create a unique hex number ex. 7F4 ^ 65D which would equal 1A9 I understand how the XOR should work but every time I try to convert the string hex number: string hex1 = "7F4"; int hexInt = Convert.ToInt32(hex1, 16); I end up with a number: 2036 How do I keep the integrity of the hex number so I can do an XOR on the 2 hex numbers?

  • Can jQuery add commas while user typing numbers?
