  • Why does IIS not support chunked transfer encoding?

    I am making an HTTP connection to an IIS web server and sending a POST request with the data encoded using Transfer-Encoding: chunked. When I do this, IIS simply closes the connection, with no error message or status code. According to the HTTP 1.1 spec, All HTTP/1.1 applications MUST be able to receive and decode the "chunked" transfer-coding so I don't understand why it's (a) not handling that encoding and (b) it's not sending back a status code. If I change the request to send the Content-Length rather than Transfer-Encoding, the query succeeds, but that's not always possible. When I try the same thing against Apache, I get a "411 Length required" status and a message saying "chunked Transfer-Encoding forbidden". Why do these servers not support this encoding?

  • Table image not showing, "Pop an autorelease pool" error

    hi, I have a UITableView which uses the following code to display an image in a Table View cell: cell.imageView.layer.masksToBounds = YES; cell.imageView.layer.cornerRadius = 5.0; UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[color types] stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet whitespaceAndNewlineCharacterSet]]]; if ( image ) { cell.imageView.image = [image imageScaledToSize:CGSizeMake(50, 50)]; } It works fine on the iPhone simulator, but when I try it on a real iPhone the iPhone doesn't show. Instead in the console in debugging mode, I get this error: attempt to pop an unknown autorelease pool (0x851e00) Any help would be great, thanks.

  • 'NSInvalidArgumentException' UIButton IBAction Error

    Hi, I have a button in a view which refuses to work. I've got in working in a blank, default view application from X-Code, but in none of my applications will it work, instead it gives me the following error. Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[UIViewController showVicInfo:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3c084f0' The debugger isn't any help either. I've made sure that I hook up the button to the file's owner (not the other way around) as well. Below is the code for the action.   • Problems removing a " from a string

    Hi, I have a string that ends with a " (quotation mark) that I want to get rid of. However, because XCode usually requires you to enter the text you wish to remove using stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString in @"texttoremove" format, you can't use the quotation marks in the space as it thinks you are closing the text. Any ideas on how I can do it? Thanks.

  • Best way to change XIB files based on rotation?

    Hi, My app has so far just been a portrait-based application. However, I am adding landscape mode to a new version, but have found that my XIB files look shocking when rotated from portrait to landscape. Apparently I need to make a landscape version of each XIB and use some code to change with XIB launches based on what rotation occurs. Am I right? If so, where do I go from here? Are there any Apple sample apps utilising this code? FYI - My XIB files just have text in them. Thanks.

  • Adding a dynamic image to UITable View Cell

    Hi, I have a table in which I want a dynamic image to load in at the left-hand side. The table needs to use an IF statement to select the appropriate image from the "Resources" folder, and needs to be based upon [dog types]. The [dog types] is extracted from an RSS feed, and so the image in the table cell needs to match the each cell's [dog types] tag. Update: See code below for what I'm looking to do (only below it's for earthquakes, for me its pictures of dogs). I suspect I need to use - (UIImage *)imageForTypes:(NSString *)types { to do such a thing. Thanks. Updated code: This is for Apple's Earthquake sample but does exactly what I need to do.   • paypal redirect on successful checkout

    I am trying to get my Paypal subscription to redirect to a custom page after a successful checkout. Before submitting to Paypal I overload the submit handler, run my own function (to store details) and return a unique id. I want to attach that id to my return URL. (as a GET or POST var so to speak) I have turned auto redirect "on" in my Paypal sandbox sellers preferences, but it only seems to re-direct to the URL that I HAVE to put in there. using the <input type="hidden" name="return" value="someurl" /> does no seem to work. I want it this way so that I can capture the user information when entered with a "non-paid" flag, then via the IPN I can update that record with a "PAID" flag, and I want to use the unique ID to tie it all together so to speak. Any advice or a different approach is welcomed. Many thanks!

  • Problems pulling data from NSMutableArray for MapKit?

    Hi, I have a class (DataImporter) which has the code to download an RSS feed. I also have a view and separate class (TableView) which displays the data in a UITableView and starts the parsing process, storing parsed information in an NSMutableArray (items). Now I wish to add a UIMapView which displays the items in the items NSMutableArray. I'm struggling to transfer the data into the new class (mapView) to show it in the map - and I preferably don't want to have to create a new class to download the data again for the map. Is there a way I can transfer the information from the NSMutableArray (items) to the mapView? Thanks.   • Accessing items separated by -componentsSeparatedByString

    Hi, I have an array gathered by componentsSeparatedByString: that looks like the following when I use po in the GDB after the array has gone through componentsSeparatedByString: "\n\t\t <b>Suburb, </b> BAIRNSDALE", "\n\t\t <b>Address, </b> 15K NW BAIRNSDALE", "\n\t\t <b>Reference, </b> MELWOOD/SCHOOL ROAD", "\n\t\t <b>Last Changed, </b> 09/04/10 05, 29, 00 PM", "\n\t\t <b>Type, </b> HOME", "\n\t\t <b>Status, </b> BUILT", "\n\t\t <b>Property Size, </b> 2.00 HA.", "\n\t\t <b>Residents, </b> 2", "\n\t\t <b>First Added Date/Time, </b> 09/04/10 03, 15, 00 PM", "\n\t\t\t" Only problem is, I now can't figure out where to go from here. I need to be able to access each of these items (i.e. type, status, property size) separately rather than just calling the entire array (i.e. currentProperty.status). How do I do this? Also what's with all the n\t\t\t things - how do I get rid of them? Thanks.

  • Using Multiple Foreign Keys to the same table in LINQ

    I have a table Users and a table Items In the Items table, I have fields such as ModifiedBy CreatedBy AssignedTo which all have a userId integer. The database is set up to have these as foreign keys back to the Users table. When using LINQToSQL, the relationships which are automatically built from the dbml end up giving me names like User, User1 and User2 e.g. myItem.User1.Name or myItem.User2.Name Obviously this isn't very readable and I'd like it be along the lines of myItem.CreatedByUser.Name or myItem.ModifiedByUser.Name etc I could change the names of the relationships but that means I have to redo that every time I change the db schema and refresh the dbml. Is there any way round this?

  • Sorting Table Cells based on data from NSArray

    Hi, I have an NSArray which contains information from an RSS feed on dogs, such as [dog types], [dog age] and [dog size]. At the moment my UITableView simply displays each cell on each dog and within the cell lists [dog types], [dog age] and [dog size]. I want to be able to allow users of my app to "sort" this data based on the dog name, dog size or dog age when they press a UIButton in the top nav-bar. I'm struggling to work out how to filter the UITableView based on these factors, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Issues adding search to iPhone app

    Hi, Basically I'm trying to add a search function to my iPhone app, but I'm not having much luck at the moment. I've downloaded the Apple provided Table Search app, and have copied across the code to mine. It builds OK, but here's the problem. Unlike the Apple example, all my data is stored in an array, that is accessed by calling [ciParser.currentArray]. Any ideas on how to change the code to suit my needs? I'm getting an error "Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (0) beyond bounds (0)'" whenever I click on the search bar and the app exits. Below is the code in particular that the debugger highlights as being troublesome. Apparently this error means the database trying to be searched is empty, but I could be wrong.   • NavBar displaying back twice when app changed to landscape mode

    Hi, Not sure what's going on here, but my iPhone apps nav bar shows back and the title of my detail view controller even when I'm back to the original view. It wasn't happening earlier, it has changed recently (but not sure when exactly). E.g. I click on a row, view the didSelectRow XIB and then click back on the NavBar controller, but it still shows back even though the view does change back to the original table view. I then have to press back again and then it clears. Update: It's as if its trying to go back three times instead of two. Because, if you visit another row without removing the back button, it stores it as if you need to go back twice. It works fine in portrait mode. Any ideas?

  • Impossible to be const-correct when combining data and it's lock?

    I've been looking at ways to combine a piece of data which will be accessed by multiple threads alongside the lock provisioned for thread-safety. I think I've got to a point where I don't think its possible to do this whilst maintaining const-correctness. Take the following class for example: template <typename TType, typename TMutex> class basic_lockable_type { public: typedef TMutex lock_type; public: template <typename... TArgs> explicit basic_lockable_type(TArgs&&... args) : TType(std::forward<TArgs...>(args)...) {} TType& data() { return data_; } const TType& data() const { return data_; } void lock() { mutex_.lock(); } void unlock() { mutex_.unlock(); } private: TType data_; mutable TMutex mutex_; }; typedef basic_lockable_type<std::vector<int>, std::mutex> vector_with_lock; In this I try to combine the data and lock, marking mutex_ as mutable. Unfortunately this isn't enough as I see it because when used, vector_with_lock would have to be marked as mutable in order for a read operation to be performed from a const function which isn't entirely correct (data_ should be mutable from a const). void print_values() const { std::lock_guard<vector_with_lock>(values_); for(const int val : values_) { std::cout << val << std::endl; } } vector_with_lock values_; Can anyone see anyway around this such that const-correctness is maintained whilst combining data and lock? Also, have I made any incorrect assumptions here?

  • Create a view like Tweetie's User Profile view

    Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea on how you can create a view that looks like the user profile view in apps like Tweetie, where there are seemingly multiple tables with a couple of normal (straight up and down tables) and then two rows of six cells, which in Tweeties case have the number of followers, following etc. I'm trying to make a similar view for my app, but can't seem to find out the best way to create it. Any tutorials, advice etc. would be appreciated. Thanks. P.S. Here's a picture of the view which I'm trying to recreate.

  • Issues declaring already existing NSMutableArray in new class

Now I wish to add a UIMapView which displays the items in the (items) NSMutableArray. Herein lies the issue - I need to somehow get the data from the (items) NSMutableArray into the new (mapView) subclass which I'm struggling with - and I preferably don't want to have to create a new class to download the data again for the mapView class when it already is in the applications memory. Is there a way I can transfer the information from the NSMutableArray (items) class to the (mapView) class (i.e. how do I declare the NSMutableArray in the (mapView) class)? Here's a overview of how the system works: App opened Data downloaded (using DataImporter class) when (TableView) viewDidLoad runs Data stored in NSMutableArray accessible by the (TableView) class And from here I need to access and declare the array from a new (mapView) class. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.   • Android NDK import-module / code reuse

    Morning! I've created a small NDK project which allows dynamic serialisation of objects between Java and C++ through JNI. The logic works like this: Bean - JavaCInterface.Java - JavaCInterface.cpp - JavaCInterface.java - Bean The problem is I want to use this functionality in other projects. I separated out the test code from the project and created a "Tester" project. The tester project sends a Java object through to C++ which then echo's it back to the Java layer. I thought linking would be pretty simple - ("Simple" in terms of NDK/JNI is usually a day of frustration) I added the JNIBridge project as a source project and including the following lines to Android.mk: NDK_MODULE_PATH=.../JNIBridge/jni/" JNIBridge/jni/JavaCInterface/Android.mk: ... include $(BUILD_STATIC_LIBRARY) JNITester/jni/Android.mk: ... include $(BUILD_SHARED_LIBRARY) $(call import-module, JavaCInterface) This all works fine. The C++ files which rely on headers from JavaCInterface module work fine. Also the Java classes can happily use interfaces from JNIBridge project. All the linking is happy. Unfortunately JavaCInterface.java which contains the native method calls cannot see the JNI method located in the static library. (Logically they are in the same project but both are imported into the project where you wish to use them through the above mechanism). My current solutions are are follows. I'm hoping someone can suggest something that will preserve the modular nature of what I'm trying to achieve: My current solution would be to include the JavaCInterface cpp files in the calling project like so: LOCAL_SRC_FILES := FunctionTable.cpp $(PATH_TO_SHARED_PROJECT)/JavaCInterface.cpp But I'd rather not do this as it would lead to me needing to update each depending project if I changed the JavaCInterface architecture. I could create a new set of JNI method signatures in each local project which then link to the imported modules. Again, this binds the implementations too tightly.

  • Adding an existing site column to a custom list

    I think I'm going mad - this seemed like an easy thing to do but I can't find any info on it at all. I have created a Custom List and added 4 columns to it. Created By and Modified By are already in the list but hidden from the view. I want to add a Date Modified column (which is a built in field) to this Custom List. How do I do this programmatically?
