• Websphere logs report {0} File not found, but application continues to work without issues

  A websphere 6.1 server is running a struts application that seems to be working fine. The stack trace only shows IBMs code, which I can't see the source of, and therefore can't trace. Is this a bug in the websphere code? I'd appreciate any help.

• How to connect to a queue manager with ssl enabled server connection channel when authentication is

  I am trying to write a java application connecting to server connection channel with SSL enabled. So far, I have been successfully connected to the channel by setting authentication to 'optional'. However, when I set it to be 'required', the connection fails. Here is what I did: Create key db for queue manager and keystore for the java client user. Create key/self-signed certificates for the queue manager and the client user, with names prefixed ibmwebspheremq. Export, exchange and import certificates for the queue manager and the client. (I did answered 'yes' when being asked whether I trust the queue manager cert). The location and password to the truststore and keystore are set to point to the same keystore at the client side, where the orgininal created client user key and the imported queue manager key are. With other settings being the same, if I switch back to 'optional' authentication, the connection works. I think there is something I understand incorrectly about this ssl authenticaion but cannot figure out what. Could someone kindly help me?

  Is there any way to pull information about which client certificate was used inside of my web service method when using <security mode="Transport>? I sifted through OperationContext.Current but couldn't find anything obvious. It seems like if I'm using WCF with this configuration, then I'm unable to glean any information about the caller (since no credentials are actually sent). I somehow need to be able to figure out whose making calls to my service without changing my configuration or asking them to change their payload.

• DB2 Transaction log is full. How to flush / clear it?

  Hi, I’m working on a experiment regarding to a course I’m taking about tuning DB2. I’m using the EC2 from Amazon (aws) to conduct the experiment. My problem is, however, that I have to test a non-compression against row-compression in DB2 and to do that I’ve created a bsh file that run those experiments. But when I reach to my compression part I get the error ”Transaction log is full”; and no matter how low I set the inserts for it is complaining about my transaction log. I’ve scouted Google for a day now trying to find some way to flush / clear the log or just get rit of it, i don’t need it. I’ve tried to increase the size but nothing has helped. Please, I hope someone has an answer to solve this frustrating problem Thanks - Mestika

• Logical file not working for SUBFILE/SETLL?

• JSF Ajax refresh issue

  In my JSF page, I have a dropdown that needs to be populated onload of the page which is set in request scope, now I have a Ajax call that refreshes a part of the page. The Ajax piece works fine but the issue is on refresh it also calls the getter for the Dropdown and returns null ( because its in request scope). To me it makes no sense to call the getter for a component that's not part of the Ajax refresh. Am I doing it correct , please suggest.

• Configuring IHS server to direct traffic to the Netty component bound to a port

  I have a Server Component ( based on Jboss-Netty, which could maintain & handle persistent connections ) deployed in WAS. This component when deployed & initiated within the WAS environment, binds to a port & listens for incoming HTTP connection. [ Why i had to deploy a Netty HTTP Server within WAS is another story - management requirement !! Netty is deployed in WAS as a spring bean which when initiated runs on a port in the machine, independent of WAS ] Clients (mobile app) were able to establish persistent HTTP connections (to the above URL::Port) with this netty component & send/receive requests. Now, I have to replicate this feature in our Production Environment where a IHS Server (Web Server) which sits before the WAS. What i expected is to get a IHS URL which could redirect the incoming packets to the specific PORT on WAS, so that the Client apps can establish a similar persistent http connection. Our Server Admin tried a few combinations and we are not able to identify how to proceed further on this. Your expert ideas would be highly appreciated.

• FILE* issue PPU side code

  We are working on a homework on CELL programming for college and their feedback response to our questions is kinda slow, thought i can get some faster answers here. I have a PPU side code which tries to open a file passed down through char* argv[], however this doesn't work it cannot make the assignment of the pointer, i get a NULL. Now my first idea was that the file isn't in the correct directory and i copied in every possible and logical place, my second idea is that maybe the PPU wants this pointer in its LS area, but i can't deduce if that's the bug or not. So... My question is what am i doing wrong? I am working with a Fedora 7 SDK Cell, with Eclipse as an IDE. Maybe my argument setup is wrong tho he gets the name of the file correctly. • MQ Connection - 2009 error

  am connectting the MQ with below code. I am able connected to MQ successfully. My case is i place the messages to MQ every 1 min once. After disconnecting the cable i get a ResonCode error but IsConnected property still show true. Is this is the right way to check if the connection is still connected ? Or there any best pratcices around that. • Calling same function until it connect to server

  I am in the process of designing a system where i need to keep on trying to connect to MQ server unitl i get a connection. By default if the MQ is not availlble it will thorugh exception. How can call the same method again and again until i get the connection. I know i can use recursion, is there any better way to do it . Becuase i would like to avoid infinite loops. I also want to wait the the furthere processing until i get connection. I am using .net 2.0 with C#. It is window Service application.

• What happens if a message is rolled back in MQ?

  Hi, I receive a message from a WebSPhere MQ queue. I try to process and if i receive some exceptions i want to rollback the message to the MQ Queue. I have no problems in doing the same. What happens to the message? Does it go to the bottom of the queue? If i try and pull a message from the queue would i receive the same message that i rolledback? What is the behaviour likely to be? I want to know this behaviour typically in a high volume Queue scenario? Appreciate any inputs. Thanks, Manglu

  I'm trying to help a friend troubleshoot connection problems with an AS/400. He'd like to run a query against the AS/400 that will always return a record, (similar to a SELECT 1 against MSSQL). He's attempted running SELECT 1 but without luck ... I'm assuming that the AS/400 expects a FROM TableName ... Can anyone provided assistance? Is there a system table/file that always exists that he can run a SELECT TOP 1 (or it's equivalent) against? I've never interacted with an AS/400 so I'm a bit out of my element ... was hoping SO could give me a quick answer ... Thanks in advance!

• How to (un)dock IBM Thinkpad X41 from X4 Dock(ing station) successfully?

  I'd like to start using my docking station again; however, it still doesn't work as it should, see the following bug descriptions (with special focus on Thinkpad X41 & the X4 Dock). Given that it still doesn't work (effective April 2012), my hope is fading that it will start working all of a sudden with Precise Pangolin at the end of the month. This issue is VERY important to me and I would be MOST grateful to anyone being able to sieve through the following links (some of which are actually quite recent) and translate their meaning into reliable and concrete simple (?) steps. I've read briefly about hal and udev, and can imagine that they are somewhat related to this, see links below. I don't want to fire at random. I don't want to tinker around with bash scripts if avoidable... Problem description (more or less ;-) Pressing the undock button on a "ThinkPad X4 Dock" with a ThinkPad X40 does not cause any udev events. And the lights on the dock never change to indicate it is safe to undock. and IBM Thinkpad X41 & docking station no joy :-( ... when pressing the blue undock button on the docking station: - The screen goes blank (with backlight remaining on), - with some SSD/HDD activity; - ctrl alt del causes a shut down after ... seconds, indicating that the system itself hasn't "crashed" but is still (somewhat ?) responsive. and With recent distributions, docking and undocking should function out of the box. You can monitor this by running # udevadm monitor and when you dock or press the undock button you should see a flurry of events. There are some issues though: No event on undock. - In some cases you may not get any events on undock. This is due to the ACPI dock drivers only registering the first logical Dock port they encounter and in some rare cases there may be more then one, such as on a ThinkPad X40 with ThinkPad X4 Dock. Patches are available, and are merged in 2.6.34. Now, if patches are available and merged into 2.6.34 - why isn't (un)docking simply working / fully supported in the latest version of Natty (which to my humble understanding has surpassed kernel version 2.6.34 a while ago)?   Is there a faster way to rotate a large bitmap by 90 or 270 degrees than simply doing a nested loop with inverted coordinates? The bitmaps are 8bpp and typically 2048*2400*8bpp Currently I do this by simply copying with argument inversion, roughly (pseudo code: for x = 0 to 2048-1 for y = 0 to 2048-1 dest[x][y]=src[y][x]; (In reality I do it with pointers, for a bit more speed, but that is roughly the same magnitude) GDI is quite slow with large images, and GPU load/store times for textures (GF7 cards) are in the same magnitude as the current CPU time. Any tips, pointers? An in-place algorithm would even be better, but speed is more important than being in-place. Target is Delphi, but it is more an algorithmic question. SSE(2) vectorization no problem, it is a big enough problem for me to code it in assembler Duplicates How do you rotate a two dimensional array?. Follow up to Nils' answer Image 2048x2700 - 2700x2048 Compiler Turbo Explorer 2006 with optimization on. Windows: Power scheme set to "Always on". (important!!!!) Machine: Core2 6600 (2.4 GHz) time with old routine: 32ms (step 1) time with stepsize 8 : 12ms time with stepsize 16 : 10ms time with stepsize 32+ : 9ms Meanwhile I also tested on a Athlon 64 X2 (5200+ iirc), and the speed up there was slightly more than a factor four (80 to 19 ms). The speed up is well worth it, thanks. Maybe that during the summer months I'll torture myself with a SSE(2) version.   Are there any master technicians (or shops) out there in NY/NJ who would be willing to work with my two IBM Thinkpad T40 laptops? They both seem to have hardware/mechanical problems and I am sure can be fixed if inspected by the right ppl. But I don't to pay unless someone can fix them. Do you know anyone in NY/NJ who does business such that they won't charge me anything if they can't fix my laptop?
