    I'm planning to buy this book: The C++ Standard: Incorporating Technical Corrigendum No. 1 http://www.flipkart.com/standard-british-standards-institution-incorporating-book-0470846747 Since it's cost is too much for me (being an Indian we've the habit of buying only low-price edition books :D), I want to make sure if this is the correct edition/version of the Standard. So I need some good advice if I should go for it, or there is better option for me which I'm unaware of. PS: I want to buy hard copy, not PDF.

  • Unable to install Xdebug

    I've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up?   • Can't boot freshly burned Ubuntu cd

    So I just burned a Ubuntu 12.04.1 powerpc .iso on a cd for my iMac G5 running Mac OS X 10.4.11 and it won't even recognize the cd. I burned it on my dad's Windows 7 laptop as the process is way easier (just 2 clicks). Mac OS X 10.4.11 gives me an error when it starts and when the CD is in saying "the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer". What's funny is that I burned a Ubuntu Minimal .iso on a CD and it would totally read that and even boot it though it gave me some errors afterwards and I couldn't install. I even tried going into openfirmware and hitting boot cd:,\tbxi but I get the error "Warning sector size mismatch can't OPEN cd:,\tbxi Can't open device or file" Was there something wrong with the .iso I burned? Mac OS X 10.4.11 won't even mount that .iso it tells me that the HFS file system is corrupt or something, but I know the .iso doesn't contain HFS file system. Any help? I downloaded the .iso from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/precise/release/ubuntu-12.04-desktop-powerpc.iso

    Hi everybody, Having some trouble sending properly formatted HTML e-mail from a PHP script. I am running PHP 5.3.0 and Apache 2.2.11 on Windows XP Professional. Name Time Volume 137 Agent Name 01:27:25 1 138 =09 00:00:00 0 139 =09 00:00:00 0 You see the =20 and =09 in there? If you look at the HTML you also see = signs being turned into =3D. I figure this is a character encoding issue as I read the following at Wikipedia: ISO-8859-1 and Windows-1252 confusion It is very common to mislabel text data with the charset label ISO-8859-1, even though the data is really Windows-1252 encoded. In Windows-1252, codes between 0x80 and 0x9F are used for letters and punctuation, whereas they are control codes in ISO-8859-1. Many web browsers and e-mail clients will interpret ISO-8859-1 control codes as Windows-1252 characters in order to accommodate such mislabeling but it is not standard behaviour and care should be taken to avoid generating these characters in ISO-8859-1 labeled content. This looks like the problem but I don't know how to fix.     This is a double question, I just hope it's valid. I need to know how to use dd to make splitted ISO images from some storage device, I'm doing it through SSH: the process is slow and the risk of faling at the mid of the operation (1) is high then I need to know how to make these splitted ISO images from my storage device. (2) I'm searching for some reference on dd, it could be a book or a good website about it for when any doubt arises. 1 - I'm doing it on a ~60GB storage device, it took me a whole day to copy ~10GB from this disk. 2 - For curious people, I'm trying to recover an accidentaly deleted file from an iPod, until now I've been able to make the whole process, I just need to improve it beucase I left it copying the disk yesterday: Today it gave me an error when it was at ~10GB.

    I am trying to turn this type of format of the date: Thursday, November 10th, 2011 at 10:37 PM Into an ISO 8601 format (with PHP). How can I do this? I've tried: date("c", $row2['time']) Obviously, that's not correct, because the timeago jQuery plugin is saying "41 years ago", and that is definitely not 41 years ago. Is it not possible to turn that kind of date into the ISO 8601 format? I've tried searching for this and I haven't found any solutions on how to turn this format into ISO 8601.

    There is a tool in pen drive linux that allows you to boot directly with multiple iso files. And here is a sample in the menu.lst which allows you to choose which iso file you want to boot. title Fedora 13 find --set-root /Fedora-12-i686-L.iso map /ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso (0xff) map --hook root (0xff) kernel /casper/vmlinuz file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper persistent iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso splash initrd /casper/initrd.lz I'm just using it on my 8gb flash drive and the location of the iso file is in the flash drive itself. Is it possible to reference other locations. So that I could boot from it, without limitations. because the flash drive can only contain 8gb of data. Is it possible? Anyone here tried this before?

    Why does Ubuntu 12.10 Beta2 insist on commiting changes to the partition table even as no real changes has been done? This is a show stopper for me as I'm installing without a CD/DVD ROM. This is how I go about it. I downloaded the iso image and extracted vmlinuz and initrd.lz to the same folder I keep the iso image. Configured grub (0.9x) to boot /ubuntu/vmlinuz with the iso image like this: title ubuntu live-cd kernel /ubuntu/vmlinuz boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu/ubuntu-12.10-beta2-desktop-i386.iso ro quiet splash initrd /ubuntu/initrd.lz boot This works well and I get a running livecd session. The iso image is mounted on /isomedia (or something similar). The spare HD space where I want to install Ubuntu is in the logical area (at the wery end of the disk). I have tried both to use the space as empty and preformated with ext4. After selecting the partition and selecting "use as ext4" and selecting a mountpoint (/) I get the message: "The installer needs to commit changes to partition tables, but cannot do so because partitions on the following mount points could not be unmounted" "/isomedia" (or something similar). Is this a "feature" of the installer? To insist that everything is unmounted even if no changes is nescesary (as fare as I understand). It's probably a safety feature but is it needed? I have cahnged layouts with parted and gparted (at the end of the disk) for years without any failures. I understand that booting the iso image like this is not the common way. But it is just such a beautifull way of doing it when you hav a running system and want to play with another. Any one had any success installing Ubuntu (12.10 beta2 ) like this? Best regards Uten
