  • disable SSL on MAMP

    Hi I'm used to editing sites locally on my MAMP to test out changes before going live. In this case though the site has a SSL certificate and wants to use it when I go to admin. So I can't go to admin. The error message says: (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long) It's a Joomla site I'm trying to log into locally ie: http://localhost:8888/site/administrator/ I've tried https as well, but same thing. Also same thing is Safari. I just need to turn off ssl, it must be a file somewhere in the site I downloaded.

  • How to free port 80 for xampp to work

    Please help, I used to be running xampp and it was working perfectly. Then I wanted to try something out and I ran IIS instead of xampp. Now I want to go back to using xampp, but whenever I try to run the apache server it says: Busy... Apache started [port 80] If I go to http://localhost/ then it just says that it can't establish a connection to the server. I have turned off IIS, so I don't see why it shouldn't work. Any suggestions?

  • WAMP Server not working

    Okay so a continuation from this question, where you experts intro'd me to WAMP, which can basically execute PHP within a Windows XP environment. So now I've got it installed, but the tray icon forever shows YELLOW, and when I visit any PHP page in my browser, it just shows me the PHP source! Also, when I visit "http://localhost/" in IE7 it gives me a 404 Not Found, FF3 just shows a blank page. BTW I've tried "Restart All Services" and restarting my machine, but it still won't work. Any ideas? Any of you had this problem and solved it? Please help me here, I'm desperate to execute PHP client-side and I'm just reverting to testing on-server for now!

  • php proxy to local mercurial server

    I was wondering is it possible to create a php proxy to a server that listens onlu locally so that the php gateway is public and it directs everything to the server listening on localhost. This server would be mercurial's hg serve that listens only on 127.0.0.1 and php will do the authentication. Do You think it's possible to do? Anybody has an idea how to make a general proxy in php so that not only http get works, but also hg push? I know there are ways to host mercurial repo with auth, but it's on a plug computer and I don't have a lot of space for more apps etc.

    Hey All Let me explain you the scenario upto now.. Been a newbie to Joomla I managed to build my own website using Joomla CMS in my computers localhost. Then after the completion of the site, I wanted to upload my Local Joomla Site to a GoDaddy Server / Hosting Account.. Thanks to Google I found the below mentioned tutorial, http://zensamarketing.com/2009/07/how-to-use-joomlapack-and-kickstart-to-upload-your-local-joomla-site-to-a-godaddy-server-hosting-account/ So far I completed up to the 7th step, But I'm stuck at the step 08. I'm using Filezilla as my FTP client, Using that I uploaded the files as per the guided on step 07 and when I try to access www.mysitename.com/kickstart.php, it is giving me the below error, Forbidden You don't have permission to access /kickstart.php on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. How can I set permission... Please explain in a non technical way..   • Drupal Error After Logging In

    Hello everyone. I'm kinda new to using drupal and i'm just wondering why I kind of get this error on my new site. See i have this website under WampServer running drupal6-16. Everytime I log in with my pre-created admin account 'admin01' pass: 'admin01' i get redirected to the WampServer localhost which appears to be unusual since the header does not have the WampServer logo. I already tried creating a new drupal website with the same database and the same thing happens. Also, I tried creating another website with a new database but I copied the other website's theme and other contents and the same thing happens. Help me please. I am losing my grip on this. :( Note: I have the same website running on one PC and i am just trying to run it on another PC by copying all its contents. The original copy is working perfectly but I can't seem to get the hook on my new copies to work on other PCs.

    I am a newbie who is trying to create a Facebook app using PHP and Facebook's PHP SDK. The app is hosted on Heroku, and the sample app that they provided is working fine. However, I am now trying to get the sample app to work on Apache 2.2, and I have encountered a lot of problems along the way. Well, straight to the point, my latest problem will be trying to do Facebook login on localhost, but the 'An error occurred. Please try later' appears on the popup dialog. This does not happen on Heroku. Will someone please enlighten me on if there's any steps that I can take to overcome this error? I don't think it got to do with any coding error since I am just following the provided sample app. Thanks!

    I'm trying to create subdomains on my localhost and am way out of my territory... I'm running MAMP on my Mac OS X and I thought/think I had/have to do the following: (Assuming I want to create me.localhost.com and you.localhost.com) (1) Edit /private/etc/hosts Right now, it looks like this: 127.0.0.1 localhost 255.255.255.255 broadcasthost ::1 localhost fe80::1%lo0 localhost So, do I just make it: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 me.localhost.com 127.0.0.1 you.localhost.com 255.255.255.255 broadcasthost ::1 localhost fe80::1%lo0 localhost (2) I'm assuming I don't need to mess with DNS at all because it's local? So, the hosts file should suffice? (3) And then, I need to edit my httpd.conf file to include virtual hosts? I tried this, but it's not picking it up... So, I don't know how to test JSONP by using localhost, please help me. Thanks :)

  • How do I nicely manage many localhost web site URIs with IIS7

    I'm having trouble setting up a clean development environment with all the web sites I'm working on. I'm working on up to 40 different web sites, and at least 5 of them simultaneously. I need them all to be in a site root, for URL management to work with all CMSes. My first attempt was to use increasing port numbers for them, beginning with localhost:1000 and working upwards. Unfortunately, it took a great deal of looking up which port belonged to which web site, and it was very irritating. My second try was mapping the irritating ports to real words using the hosts file. So I ended up with localhost.tele2, localhost.ikea, localhost.volvo etc. Unfortunately, this takes a long time to set up (cleaning and adding to the hosts file, setting web site with highest port number in IIS etc.) and regularly I have to flush the DNS cache in order to get some sites working that I've added/removed from the hosts file. So how do I organize a lot of web sites in IIS7 nicely? Perhaps I've missed a very clever method that you're using.

However, they are able to circumvent this by typing the following into Explorer: \\localhost\C$ How can I disable this path but allow other UNC paths. For example they are allowed to access a shared folder on a different computer. eg. \\192.168.2.1\SharedTransfer Note: Simply Enabling the Group Policy: Remove Run menu from Start Menu will not work as this blocks all UNC paths.

    So something I do very frequently is writing random scripts in JS without really being part of an app. To run them I just paste them in the console of either Chrome of FF which works as a nice REPL, or if I really need more fancy debugging I just add it to my test app on localhost and browse it from the browser. Is there a way to get all the good debugging of a browser (breakpoints, locals, etc), without it being served from a server?, e.g by just copy-pasting my code into console or something?

    When I try to connect using Tortoise to my SVN server using: svn://localhost/ Tortoise tells me: "Can't connect to host 'localhost'. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." How can I fix this? I am trying to set up a subversion server on my local PC for personal use. I am running Windows Vista, with SlikSVN and TortoiseSVN installed. I previously had everything working correctly, but I found that I couldn't merge(!), apparently due to a version mismatch between the SVN client and server. Anyway... I now have the following setup: I created a repository using svnadmin create; it resides at C:\svnGrove C:\svnGrove\conf\svnserve.conf (# comments omitted): [general] anon-access=read auth-access=write password-db=passwd #authz-db=authz realm=svnGrove C:\svnGrove\conf\passwd: [users] myname=mypass My Subversion Server service is pointed to: C:\Program Files\SlikSvn\bin\svnserve.exe --service -r C:\svnGrove It shows the TCP/IP service as a dependency. I have also tried running svnserve from the command line, with similar results. The below is provided by the 'about' option in TortoiseSVN: TortoiseSVN 1.6.10, Build 19898 - 32 Bit , 2010/07/16 15:46:08 Subversion 1.6.12, apr 1.3.8 apr-utils 1.3.9 neon 0.29.3 OpenSSL 0.9.8o 01 Jun 2010 zlib 1.2.3 The following is from svn --version on the command line (not sure why it says CollabNet, CollabNet was the previous SVN binary that I had set up. Subversion is open source software, see http://subversion.tigris.org/ This product includes software developed by CollabNet (http://www.Collab.Net/). Edit The old version of svnserve was still set up as a service after the uninstall, pointed to this path: C:\Program Files\Subversion\svn-win32-1.4.6\bin I edited the registry key for the service to point to the new path (shown above). Whether I run svnserve as a service, or using -d, I do not see an entry for that port number in the listing generated by netstat -anp tcp.

  • Nginx: Maintenance page and localhost access

    As I prepare to test some changes, I thought I'd set up a maintenance page block so I could do the testing. Just realized though that the maintenance block examples for nginx take the site down for everyone. How do you serve the maintenance page to visitors will still allowing localhost access. Should I just create a new server block listening on another port and deny all, allow 127.0.0.1?
