• How to send emails and avoid them being classified as spam

  Hello, sometimes I want to send newsletters to my customers. The problem is, that some of the emails get caught as spam messages. Mostly by Outlook at the client (even in my own Outlook 2007). Now I want to know what should be done to create "good" emails. I know about reverse lookup etc., but what about a unsubscribe link with an unique ID does that increase a spam rating? Regards, Uwe

• Postfix send remotely for X account

  I setup Postfix a few days ago to deliver email bound for my host name remotely instead of locally as I want email sent to my remote [email protected] account without trying to be sent locally. However, this causes a problem as it tries to send local bound mail(root) to my remote server as well ([email protected]). I would like E-mail bound for [email protected] to be sent to the remote server(GMail Apps in this case) and everything else sent locally(using the alias file perhaps), is this possible? My email client is Thunderbird, and it's always pestering me with questions like "This recipient cannot receive html..." or "In order to sign this email, it needs to be converted to plain text..." Is there a way I can simply say to Thunderbird "Look, old chap, it's all plain text, so don't bother me any more, ever, again"?

  There is a similar question, but I tried changing audio settings. I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 and sometimes when talking to specific person it just doesn't send messages or receive them. It may even show that person as offline for few seconds (even if she/he is not). That may not depend on the other side, because it happened on Windows and Ubuntu box. There is a possiblity it's not really limited to skype and it's more of a wider problem, I'm not sure.

  I am setting up a mail server: Dovecot and Postfix with MySQL support and Postfixadmin. Spend literally all day trying to figure it out, but I'm still unable to neither send nor receive any emails. To my knowledge, I have configured everything correctly, so either there is another problem, or my knowledge isn't good enough. • QMail Problem: Can't send email to one specific domain

  I'm running qmail as part of a Plesk installation on a Debian server. Everything works fine apart from any emails sent to @nandos.co.uk. I get no error messages they just end up stuck in the queue for eternity. I have no idea what is going on, because as far as I can tell this is the ONLY domain the server won't send emails to. Any ideas? TIA

I've tried the following : Create a custom list, add a field named "TestField" Create a personal view named "TestView", filter : Show when column "TestField" is equal to "" (leave the box empty) Create an alert, immediate email when items appearing in "TestView" are modified Create an item with both fields filled Create an item with only title filled Now you should receive two alert emails, but in the view "TestView" there is only one item.   I got about 2000 clients on my website that have subscribed to our mailing list. I've used in the past Swift Mailer but it didn't work the way it was supposed to. I'm wondering if there is a way that Postfix could keep emails on the mailq (if lots of emails are sent at the same time) and send chunks of 20-30 emails every 10-20 mins. So this way, our server is not blacklisted. Any suggestions will be appreciate it.

  My exim4 don't send any message. The logs says 2011-03-09 15:59:57 1PxKrl-00038i-BT malware acl condition: clamd: ClamAV returned /var/spool/exim4/scan/1PxKrl-00038i-BT: lstat() failed: Permission denied. ERROR I supose that clamav (running clamd) does'nt have access rights on the mentioned file, but clamav is in the same group as Debian-exim (running exim4). Even changing the folder permissions to a+rwx has no effect. Any idea where to look for failure reason ?
