    Hey everyone, I'm looking for a utility for Windows that will, with a keyboard shortcut send an application to the system tray, and hitting the same keystroke (or even a different one) to restore it. This behavior is very similar to Apple + . when using Tweetie to show/hide the app in OS X. I know of applications like Tray it!, and Autohotkey, but I wanted to know if there was one that did it all. Does anyone have a solution for this that they have found?

    I used psubst drive1: drive2:path /P to create the persistent virtual drive, I found that's greate, but when I delete files in those drives, they didn't appeared in the Recycle Bin, so How can I restore them? ex: I used (p)subst K: C:/1 to create the K: driver, then I delete files in the K:, I think it will be better if they are moved to the C:/Recycle Bin but not delete persistently. you can find more detail about psubst here: http://code.google.com/p/psubst/

    What will happen if i try to restore the partition table of a larger hard disk to smaller hard disk, for example: partition table of 250GB hard disk to a 80GB hard disk using sfdisk like this. sfdisk /dev/sda < PartitionTable250.txt Will sfdisk detect it? I think there will be no problem if the partition table of a smaller hard disk is going to be restored on a larger hard disk?

    I never quite got why this isn't some built in setup, although maybe it is and stuff changes so quickly I just missed it. I can use iptables-save to generate something I can feed into iptables-restore, but what I was wondering is if there was a standard place to put it so that it gets picked up on boot without me having to add something to rc.local or the ever changing init/event.d scripts.

    I got a Dell Inspiron 1521 laptop from the local computer store, it is obviously a used machine. When I got it the data from the previous user was on it they did not do a wipe.     I researched all the other questions and can't find specifically what I'm asking. I did a new install of Ubuntu 14.04.1 and started adding tweaks. I saw the Cinnamon desktop and it looked cool, but after I installed it (with Gnome), I decided I wanted to have the native Ubuntu 14.04.1 experience. I've got Unity to show up, but the top banner is still different and I want it just like it was in the initial install. I've added about 20 updates and upgrades and really don't want to go through all that again. I appreciate your response.

    I installed Kubuntu on top of my existing Ubuntu 12.04 (64 bit) installation. During Kubuntu installation, I chose lightdm as my default display manager (instead of kdm). Now after rebooting, the Grub has a new color (gray instead of default purplish) and the screen while booting is gray (instead of purplish). I am curious if it is possible to change this grub behavior without removing Kubuntu. I did find a lot of discussion about modifying grub themes but they were not very useful because I do not know what is the default unity grub theme. I did reinstall grub but it didn't change anything. I tried the Grub Customizer but couldn't succeed. Thanks in advance!

    I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 using bootable USB. After upgrade, all non-default packages from 11.10 are gone. For ex, I did not have Chromium, Eclipse etc. Although, I could see these in the History in the "Ubuntu Software Center". Is there any way I can retrieve all these packages (even reverting back to 11.10 is also fine with me)? What could be a possible reason for this (We plan to upgrade a few more machines)?     I am downgrading an existing ubuntu 10.04 LTS Virtual Server to one with less memory and a smaller drive ( from 80GB to 40GB ). My hoster ( hetzner.de ) does not give me the possibility of doing an inplace downgrade, so I have to create a new server. What is the best way to make an image of the first system and "apply it" to the new one ?     My application needs to backup and restore .sdf files. There is a single dataSet the the whole application and some bindngSource and table adapters on forms using this same dataset. Just for a sake of test I tryied to copy the .sdf in runtime for a backup folder and back to restore it and I got my application not finding the file like it was not there anymore. How should I manage connections to open and close the database since the dataSet do it automaticaly at begin and end of my application?

Is there a way I can tell git to do this? (As an example, when working on a large project, I made some changes to configure.ac, found out that autotools doesn't work on my system, and wanted to restore configure.ac's to its original contents and modification time so that make doesn't try to update configure with my broken autotools).

    I have two SQL 2005 instances that reside on different networks. I need to backup a database from instance A and restore it to a database in instance B on a weekly basis so that both databases hold the same data. After the restore, logins SIDS on database B are changed and therefore users can't log into database B and connection strings for the web application it supports are broken.
