  • Application stops on back button in new activity

    - by Bruno Almeida
    I have this application, that have a listView, and when I click in a item on listView, it opens a new activity. That works fine! But, if I open the new activity and than press the "back button" the application "Unfortunately, has stopped". Is there something I'm doing wrong? Here is my code: First activity: public class AndroidSQLite extends Activity { private SQLiteAdapter mySQLiteAdapter; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); ListView listContent = (ListView)findViewById(R.id.contentlist); mySQLiteAdapter = new SQLiteAdapter(this); mySQLiteAdapter.openToRead(); Cursor cursor = mySQLiteAdapter.queueAll(); startManagingCursor(cursor); String[] from = new String[]{SQLiteAdapter.KEY_NOME,SQLiteAdapter.KEY_ID}; int[] to = new int[]{R.id.text,R.id.id}; SimpleCursorAdapter cursorAdapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.row, cursor, from, to); listContent.setAdapter(cursorAdapter); listContent.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), id + "", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); Intent details = new Intent(getApplicationContext(),DetailsPassword.class); startActivity(details); } }); mySQLiteAdapter.close(); } } Second Activity: public class DetailsPassword extends Activity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); TextView text = new TextView(getApplicationContext()); text.setText("Text to show"); setContentView(text); } } // ===== EDITED ===== here is the Stack Track 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): FATAL EXCEPTION: main 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to resume activity {com.example.sqliteexemple2/com.example.sqliteexemple2.AndroidSQLite}: java.lang.IllegalStateException: trying to requery an already closed cursor android.database.sqlite.SQLiteCursor@4180a370 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at android.app.ActivityThread.performResumeActivity(ActivityThread.java:2701) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleResumeActivity(ActivityThread.java:2729) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:1250) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:137) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4931) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:511) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:791) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:558) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: trying to requery an already closed cursor android.database.sqlite.SQLiteCursor@4180a370 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at android.app.Activity.performRestart(Activity.java:5051) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at android.app.Activity.performResume(Activity.java:5074) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): at android.app.ActivityThread.performResumeActivity(ActivityThread.java:2691) 10-30 08:55:05.744: E/AndroidRuntime(28046): ... 10 more

  • Find all radio groups which haven't been selected

    - by nickf
    I have a basic quiz/survey type application I'm working on, and I'd like to give the user a prompt before they submit if they haven't answered all the questions. All the questions are multiple choice using radio buttons: <div class="question"> Q1: What is the second letter of the alphabet? <div class="choices"> <input type="radio" name="question_1" value="1" /> A <input type="radio" name="question_1" value="2" /> B <input type="radio" name="question_1" value="3" /> C </div> </div> <div class="question"> Q2: Which out of these is a berry? <div class="choices"> <input type="radio" name="question_2" value="1" /> Apples <input type="radio" name="question_2" value="2" /> Bananas <input type="radio" name="question_2" value="3" /> Carrots </div> </div> <div class="question"> ...etc How do you find which groups haven't got an option ticked? Or at least, if there are any which haven't been answered? jQuery is ok, and even preferred.

  • manipulating radio box selection with javascript

    - by Crays
    Hi guys, i'm trying to do a poll but i designed it without any radio box in it. So i decided to make the selection being highlighted with a different background color, all is done with jquery. I set the display of the radio box to none so that it wouldn't show, gave each a unique ID. Here's the script. <form action="v_poll.php" method="post"> <ul class="voting"> <li class="voting votetext"><input type="radio" name="voting" value="a1" style="display:none;" id="a1"><a onClick="vote('a1')"Answer 1</a></li> <li class="voting votetext"><input type="radio" name="voting" value="a2" style="display:none;" id="a2"><a onClick="vote('a2')">Answer 2</a></li> <li class="voting votetext"><input type="radio" name="voting" value="a3" style="display:none;" id="a3"><a onClick="vote('a3')">Answer 3</a></li> <input type="hidden" value="1" name="id" /> <input type="submit" value="submit"> </ul> </form> <script type="text/javascript"> function vote(TheValue) { GetElementById(TheValue).checked=true; } </script> But when i checked the value of the radio box with $_POST['voting'], it is blank. Not the value assigned to the radio box. Anything i'm doing wrong? Please help. Thanks.

  • HTML form -> Flash submit button -> Set a PHP variable in flash button -> Submit form

    - by RobHardgood
Okay, I'm sorry that this is pretty complicated, but it shouldn't be that hard to solve... Here's what I want to do. I have an HTML form that I want to upload to MySQL with PHP. That part's easy, but the thing is I want the submit button to be a Flash object. Somehow I need the Flash button to submit the form, but I think I can figure that out. The tricky part is that I need it to set another PHP variable before submitting the form. The variable will be determined by a bunch of stuff, but I can code that in actionscript later. I just need to figure out how to pass the variable back to the webpage. A $_POST variable would probably be fine. Thanks!! Let me know if I need to clarify more...

  • Android Programmatically created Button Persistance

    - by WtLgi
So in an app I'm messing around with I programmatically create some buttons. Then I setContentView(); to a different page. Then if I come back to the original page (on which I placed the programmatically created buttons), they no longer exist. I guess this makes sense as I am calling setContentView(R.layout.main); again which is just the original xml file with no data pointing to the buttons. So is there a way to have the buttons persist over such screen transitions? Thanks.

  • Button Click Event Getting Lost

    - by AlishahNovin
I have a Menu and Submenu structure in Silverlight, and I want the submenu to disappear when the parent menu item loses focus - standard Menu behavior. I've noticed that the submenu's click events are lost when a submenu item is clicked, because the parent menu item loses focus and the submenu disappears. It's easier to explain with code: ParentMenuBtn.Click += delegate { SubMenu.Visibility = (SubMenu.Visibility == Visibility.Visible) ? SubMenu.Collapsed : SubMenu.Visible; }; ParentMenuBtn.LostFocus += delegate { SubMenu.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; }; SubMenuBtn.Click += delegate { throw new Exception("This will never be thrown."); }; In my example, when SubMenuBtn is clicked, the first event that triggers is ParentMenuBtn.LostFocus(), which hides the container of SubMenuBtn. Once the container's visibility collapses, the Click event is never triggered. I'd rather avoid having to hide the sub-menu each time, but I'm a little surprised that the Click event is never triggered as a result... Anyone have any thoughts about this?

I can't put any checks inside the LostFocus() event to see if my SubMenuBtn has focus, because it does not gain focus until after the LostFocus() event is called. In other words, SubMenuBtn.IsFocused = false when LostFocus() is triggered. Anyone have any thoughts about this?

  • How can I set size of a button?

    - by Roman
I put my buttons in a JPane with GridLayout. Then I put JPanel into another JPanel with BoxLayout.Y_AXIS. I want buttons in the GridLayout to be square. I use tmp.setSize(30,30) and it does not work. I also try to use new GridLayout(X, Y, 4, 4) but I cannot figure out what X and Y are. So, what is the correct way to do this stuff?

  • Change and Maintain CSS Style of Button State

    - by TDDG
I have 5 list items that act like tabs for a page stored in a Masterpage in a asp.net application. When the user selects a list item, I would like to redirect the the page, and change the class for that list item (tab) to show the active tab the user is on. What is the best way to dynamically change the class of the list item based on the user interaction with them, and maintain the state?

  • What arguments do I send a function being called by a button in python?

    - by Jared
I have a UI, in that UI is 4 text fields and 1 int field, then I have a function that calls to another function based on what's inside of the text fields, this function has (self, *args). My function that is being called to takes five arguments and I don't know what to put in it to make it actually work with my UI because python button's send an argument of their own. I have tried self and *args, but it doesn't work. Here is my code, didn't include most of the UI code since it is self explanatory: def crBC(self, IKJoint, FKJoint, bindJoint, xQuan, switch): ''' You should have a controller with an attribute 'ikFkBlend' - The name can be changed after the script executes. Controller should contain an enum - FK/DYN(0), IK(1). Specify the IK joint, then either the dynamic or FK joint, then the bind joint. Then a quantity of joints to pass through and connect. Tested currently on 600 joints (200 x 3), executed in less than a second. Returns nothing. Please open your script editor for details. • SQL SERVER – Remove Debug Button in SSMS – SQL in Sixty Seconds #020 – Video

    - by pinaldave
SQL in Sixty Seconds is indeed tremendous fun to do. Every week, we try to come up with some new learning which we can share in Sixty Seconds. In this busy world, we all have sixty seconds to learn something new – no matter how much busy we are. In this episode of the series, we talk about another interesting feature of SQL Server Management Studio. In SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) we have two button side by side. 1) Execute (!) and 2) Debug (>). It is quite confusing to a few developers. The debug button which looks like a play button encourages developers to click on the same thinking it will execute the code. Also developer with a Visual Studio background often click it because of their habit. However, Debug button is not the same as Execute button. In most of the cases developers want to click on Execute to run the query but by mistake they click on Debug and it wastes their valuable time. It is very easy to fix this. If developers are not frequently using a debug feature in SQL Server they should hide it from the toolbar itself. This will reduce the chances to incorrectly click on the debug button greatly as well save lots of time for developer as invoking debug processes and turning it off takes a few extra moments. In this Sixty second video we will discuss how one can hide the debug button and avoid confusion regarding execution button. I personally use function key F5 to execute the T-SQL code so I do not face this problem that often. We will try to accommodate as many as we can. If we like your idea we promise to share with you educational material.
