  • Hibernate/Spring: failed to lazily initialize - no session or session was closed

    - by Niko
    I know something similar has been asked already, but unfortunately I wasn't able to find a reliable answer - even with searching for over 2 days. The basic problem is the same as asked multiple time. I have a simple program with two POJOs Event and User - where a user can have multiple events. @Entity @Table public class Event { private Long id; private String name; private User user; @Column @Id @GeneratedValue public Long getId() {return id;} public void setId(Long id) { this.id = id; } @Column public String getName() {return name;} public void setName(String name) {this.name = name;} @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name="user_id") public User getUser() {return user;} public void setUser(User user) {this.user = user;} } @Entity @Table public class User { private Long id; private String name; private List events; @Column @Id @GeneratedValue public Long getId() { return id; } public void setId(Long id) { this.id = id; } @Column public String getName() { return name; } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } @OneToMany(mappedBy="user", fetch=FetchType.LAZY) public List getEvents() { return events; } public void setEvents(List events) { this.events = events; } } Note: This is a sample project. I really want to use Lazy fetching here. I use spring and hibernate and have a simple basic-db.xml for loading: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"? <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:aop="http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop/spring-aop-3.0.xsd" <bean id="myDataSource" class="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource" destroy-method="close" scope="thread" <property name="driverClassName" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" / <property name="url" value="jdbc:mysql://192.168.1.34:3306/hibernateTest" / <property name="username" value="root" / <property name="password" value="" / <aop:scoped-proxy/ </bean <bean class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.CustomScopeConfigurer" <property name="scopes" <map <entry key="thread" <bean class="org.springframework.context.support.SimpleThreadScope" / </entry </map </property </bean <bean id="mySessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean" scope="thread" <property name="dataSource" ref="myDataSource" / <property name="annotatedClasses" <list <valuedata.model.User</value <valuedata.model.Event</value </list </property <property name="hibernateProperties" <props <prop key="hibernate.dialect"org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect</prop <prop key="hibernate.show_sql"true</prop <prop key="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto"create</prop </props </property <aop:scoped-proxy/ </bean <bean id="myUserDAO" class="data.dao.impl.UserDaoImpl" <property name="sessionFactory" ref="mySessionFactory" / </bean <bean id="myEventDAO" class="data.dao.impl.EventDaoImpl" <property name="sessionFactory" ref="mySessionFactory" / </bean </beans Note: I played around with the CustomScopeConfigurer and SimpleThreadScope, but that didnt change anything. I have a simple dao-impl (only pasting the userDao - the EventDao is pretty much the same - except with out the "listWith" function: public class UserDaoImpl implements UserDao{ private HibernateTemplate hibernateTemplate; public void setSessionFactory(SessionFactory sessionFactory) { this.hibernateTemplate = new HibernateTemplate(sessionFactory); } @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") @Override public List listUser() { return hibernateTemplate.find("from User"); } @Override public void saveUser(User user) { hibernateTemplate.saveOrUpdate(user); } @Override public List listUserWithEvent() { List users = hibernateTemplate.find("from User"); for (User user : users) { System.out.println("LIST : " + user.getName() + ":"); user.getEvents().size(); } return users; } } I am getting the org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException - failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: data.model.User.events, no session or session was closed at the line with user.getEvents().size(); And last but not least here is the Test class I use: public class HibernateTest { public static void main(String[] args) { ClassPathXmlApplicationContext ac = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext("basic-db.xml"); UserDao udao = (UserDao) ac.getBean("myUserDAO"); EventDao edao = (EventDao) ac.getBean("myEventDAO"); System.out.println("New user..."); User user = new User(); user.setName("test"); Event event1 = new Event(); event1.setName("Birthday1"); event1.setUser(user); Event event2 = new Event(); event2.setName("Birthday2"); event2.setUser(user); udao.saveUser(user); edao.saveEvent(event1); edao.saveEvent(event2); List users = udao.listUserWithEvent(); System.out.println("Events for users"); for (User u : users) { System.out.println(u.getId() + ":" + u.getName() + " --"); for (Event e : u.getEvents()) { System.out.println("\t" + e.getId() + ":" + e.getName()); } } ((ConfigurableApplicationContext)ac).close(); } } and here is the Exception I get: 1621 [main] ERROR org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException - failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: data.model.User.events, no session or session was closed org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException: failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: data.model.User.events, no session or session was closed at org.hibernate.collection.AbstractPersistentCollection.throwLazyInitializationException(AbstractPersistentCollection.java:380) at org.hibernate.collection.AbstractPersistentCollection.throwLazyInitializationExceptionIfNotConnected(AbstractPersistentCollection.java:372) at org.hibernate.collection.AbstractPersistentCollection.readSize(AbstractPersistentCollection.java:119) at org.hibernate.collection.PersistentBag.size(PersistentBag.java:248) at data.dao.impl.UserDaoImpl.listUserWithEvent(UserDaoImpl.java:38) at HibernateTest.main(HibernateTest.java:44) Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException: failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: data.model.User.events, no session or session was closed at org.hibernate.collection.AbstractPersistentCollection.throwLazyInitializationException(AbstractPersistentCollection.java:380) at org.hibernate.collection.AbstractPersistentCollection.throwLazyInitializationExceptionIfNotConnected(AbstractPersistentCollection.java:372) at org.hibernate.collection.AbstractPersistentCollection.readSize(AbstractPersistentCollection.java:119) at org.hibernate.collection.PersistentBag.size(PersistentBag.java:248) at data.dao.impl.UserDaoImpl.listUserWithEvent(UserDaoImpl.java:38) at HibernateTest.main(HibernateTest.java:44) Things I tried but did not work: assign a threadScope and using beanfactory (I used "request" or "thread" - no difference noticed): // scope stuff Scope threadScope = new SimpleThreadScope(); ConfigurableListableBeanFactory beanFactory = ac.getBeanFactory(); beanFactory.registerScope("request", threadScope); ac.refresh(); ... Setting up a transaction by getting the session object from the deo: ... Transaction tx = ((UserDaoImpl)udao).getSession().beginTransaction(); tx.begin(); users = udao.listUserWithEvent(); ... getting a transaction within the listUserWithEvent() public List listUserWithEvent() { SessionFactory sf = hibernateTemplate.getSessionFactory(); Session s = sf.openSession(); Transaction tx = s.beginTransaction(); tx.begin(); List users = hibernateTemplate.find("from User"); for (User user : users) { System.out.println("LIST : " + user.getName() + ":"); user.getEvents().size(); } tx.commit(); return users; } I am really out of ideas by now. Also, using the listUser or listEvent just work fine.

  • Spring & hibernate configuration (using maven): java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.hibernate.cfg.

    - by Marcos Carceles
Hi, I am trying to include spring and hibernate in an application running on a Weblogic 10.3 server. When I run the application in the server, while accessing an TestServlet to check my configuration I get the following exception: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'mySessionFactory' defined in class path resource [spring-config/HorizonModelPeopleConnectionsSpringContext.xml]: Instantiation of bean failed; • How to convert a Java object (bean) to key-value pairs (and vice versa)?

    - by Shahbaz
Say I have a very simple java object that only has some getXXX and setXXX properties. This object is used only to handle values, basically a record or a type-safe (and performant) map. I often need to covert this object to key value pairs (either strings or type safe) or convert from key value pairs to this object. Other than reflection or manually writing code to do this conversion, what is the best way to achieve this? An example might be sending this object over jms, without using the ObjectMessage type (or converting an incoming message to the right kind of object).

  • Best way to force Spring shutdown from a bean?

    - by xcut
My application uses a Spring DefaultMessageListenerContainer to process incoming messages. The main method of the app already registers a shutdown hook. Question is this: what is the best way to force the application context to shut down? If I throw a RuntimeException in the message listener, it is handled by the container, and not passed on. Is calling System.exit acceptable? Do I pass along the ApplicationContext to every class that needs to shut down, so I can call close() on it?

  • Netbeans, JPA Entity Beans in seperate projects. Unknown entity bean class

    - by Stu
I am working in Netbeans and have my entity beans and web services in separate projects. I include the entity beans in the web services project however the ApplicaitonConfig.java file keeps getting over written and removing the entries I make for the entity beans in the associated jar file. My question is: is it required to have both the EntityBeans and the WebServices share the same project/jar file? If not what is the appropriate way to include the entity beans which are in the jar file? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <persistence version="2.1" xmlns="http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/persistence http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_2_1.xsd"> <persistence-unit name="jdbc/emrPool" transaction-type="JTA"> <provider>org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider</provider> <jta-data-source>jdbc/emrPool</jta-data-source> <exclude-unlisted-classes>false</exclude-unlisted-classes> <properties> <property name="eclipselink.ddl-generation" value="none"/> <property name="eclipselink.cache.shared.default" value="false"/> </properties> </persistence-unit> </persistence> Based on Melc's input i verified that that the transaction type is set to JTA and the jta-data-source is set to the value for the Glassfish JDBC Resource. Unfortunately the problem still persists. I have opened the WAR file and validated that the EntityBean.jar file is the latest version and is located in the WEB-INF/lib directory of the War file. I think it is tied to the fact that the entities are not being "registered" with the entity manager. However i do not know why they are not being registered.

  • @Intertceptors does not work for web bean for JSF page.

@Named @ConversationScoped @Interceptors(MyInterceptor.class) public class BeanWeb implements Serializable { public String methodThrowException throws Exception() { throws new Exception(); } } public class MyInterceptor { @AroundInvoke public Object intercept(InvocationContext ic) throws Exception { try { return ic.proceed(); } catch (Exception e) { return null; } } } For @Stateless beans interceptor works, but for the BeanWeb interceptor does not work. And we have never entered into "intercept" method. Why is this happening? How could intercept method calls in BeanWeb? P.S.: All this spin under Glassfish 3.x.

  • Achieve Named Criteria with multiple tables in EJB Data control

    - by Deepak Siddappa
In EJB create a named criteria using sparse xml and in named criteria wizard, only attributes related to the that particular entities will be displayed.  So here we can filter results only on particular entity bean. Take a scenario where we need to create Named Criteria based on multiple tables using EJB. In BC4J we can achieve this by creating view object based on multiple tables. So in this article, we will try to achieve named criteria based on multiple tables using EJB.Implementation StepsCreate Java EE Web Application with entity based on Departments and Employees, then create a session bean and data control for the session bean.Create a Java Bean, name as CustomBean and add below code to the file. Here in java bean from both Departments and Employees tables three fields are taken. public class CustomBean { private BigDecimal departmentId; private String departmentName; private BigDecimal locationId; private BigDecimal employeeId; private String firstName; private String lastName; public CustomBean() { super(); } public void setDepartmentId(BigDecimal departmentId) { this.departmentId = departmentId; } public BigDecimal getDepartmentId() { return departmentId; } public void setDepartmentName(String departmentName) { this.departmentName = departmentName; } public String getDepartmentName() { return departmentName; } public void setLocationId(BigDecimal locationId) { this.locationId = locationId; } public BigDecimal getLocationId() { return locationId; } public void setEmployeeId(BigDecimal employeeId) { this.employeeId = employeeId; } public BigDecimal getEmployeeId() { return employeeId; } public void setFirstName(String firstName) { this.firstName = firstName; } public String getFirstName() { return firstName; } public void setLastName(String lastName) { this.lastName = lastName; } public String getLastName() { return lastName; } } Open the sessionEJb file and add the below code to the session bean and expose the method in local/remote interface and generate a data control for that. Note:- Here in the below code "em" is a EntityManager. public List<CustomBean> getCustomBeanFindAll() { String queryString = "select d.department_id, d.department_name, d.location_id, e.employee_id, e.first_name, e.last_name from departments d, employees e\n" + "where e.department_id = d.department_id"; Query genericSearchQuery = em.createNativeQuery(queryString, "CustomQuery"); List resultList = genericSearchQuery.getResultList(); Iterator resultListIterator = resultList.iterator(); List<CustomBean> customList = new ArrayList(); while (resultListIterator.hasNext()) { Object col[] = (Object[])resultListIterator.next(); CustomBean custom = new CustomBean(); custom.setDepartmentId((BigDecimal)col[0]); custom.setDepartmentName((String)col[1]); custom.setLocationId((BigDecimal)col[2]); custom.setEmployeeId((BigDecimal)col[3]); custom.setFirstName((String)col[4]); custom.setLastName((String)col[5]); customList.add(custom); } return customList; } Open the DataControls.dcx file and create sparse xml for customBean. In sparse xml navigate to Named criteria tab -> Bind Variable section, create two binding variables deptId,fName. In sparse xml navigate to Named criteria tab ->Named criteria, create a named criteria and map the query attributes to the bind variables. In the ViewController create a file jspx page, from data control palette drop customBeanFindAll->Named Criteria->CustomBeanCriteria->Query as ADF Query Panel with Table. • How to deploy global managed beans

Global managed beans contain helper - or utility - methods like or instead of JSFUtils and ADFUtils. The difference between global managed beans and static helper classes like JSFUtis and ADFUtils is that they are EL accessible, providing reusable functionality that is ready to use on UI components and - if accessed from Java - in other managed beans. For example, the ADF Faces page template (af:pageTemplate) allows you to define attributes for the consuming page to pass in object references or strings into it. It does not have method attributes that allow command components contained in a template to invoke listeners in managed beans and the ADF binding layer, or to execute actions. To create templates that provide global button or menu functionality, like logon, logout, print etc., an option for developers is to deployed managed beans with the ADF Faces page templates. To deploy a managed bean with a page template, create an ADF library from the project containing the template definition and import this ADF library into the target project using the Resource palette. When importing an ADF library, all its content is added to the project, including page template definitions, managed bean sources and configurations. More about page templates http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/apirefs.1111/e12419/tagdoc/af_pageTemplate.html Another use-case for globally configured managed beans is for creating helper methods to be used in many applications. Instead of creating a base managed bean class that then is extended by all managed beans used in applications, you can deploy a managed bean in a JAR file and add the faces-config.xml file with the managed bean configuration to the JAR's META-INF folder as shown below. Using a globally configured managed bean allows you to use Expression Language in the UI to access common functionality but also use Java in application specific managed beans. Storing the faces-config.xml file in the JAR file META-INF directory automatically makes it available when the JAR file is found in the class path of an application.

  • managed beans as managed properties

    - by Sean
I am using JSF 1.1 on WebSphere 6.1. I am building search functionality within an application and am having some issues. I've stripped out the extras, and have left myself with the following: 4 managed beans: SearchController - Controller bean, session scope SearchResults - session scope (store the results) ProductSearch - session scope (store the search conditions) ResultsBacking - Backing bean for DataTable, used to determine which row was clicked, request scope The SearchController bean has, as managed properties, the other 3. All except ResultsBacking are session scoped. If there is only 1 item in the search results, I want to bring up that record directly. I call setFirst(0) for the data table in the ResultsBacking method (I want to use the existing method that handle which item was clicked, so this is called right after the setFirst). When I go to do another search, I get an IllegalArgumentException when calling getRowData in the data table. According to the api, this is thrown 'if now(sic) row data is available at the currently specified row index'. I'm confused as to why this happens. It works the first time but not the second. Do I need to remove the ResultsBacking on a new search to get rid of the old state?

  • post xml to Spring REST server returns Unsupported Media Type

    - by Mayra
    I'm trying to create a simple spring based webservice that supports a "post" with xml content. In spring, I define an AnnotationMethodHandler: <bean id="inboundMessageAdapter" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter"> <property name="messageConverters"> <util:list> <bean class="org.springframework.http.converter.xml.MarshallingHttpMessageConverter"> <property name="marshaller" ref="xmlMarshaller"/> <property name="unmarshaller" ref="xmlMarshaller"/> </bean> </util:list> </property> </bean> And a jaxb based xml marshaller: <bean id="xmlMarshaller" class="org.springframework.oxm.jaxb.Jaxb2Marshaller"> <property name="contextPaths"> <array> <value>com.company.schema</value> </array> </property> <property name="schemas"> <array> <value>classpath:core.xsd</value> </array> </property> </bean> My controller is annotated as follows, where "Resource" is a class autogenerated by jaxb: @RequestMapping(method = POST, value = "/resource") public Resource createResource(@RequestBody Resource resource) { // do work } The result of a webservice call is always "HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type". Here is an example service call: HttpPost post = new HttpPost(uri); post.addHeader("Accept", "application/xml"); post.addHeader("Content-Type", "application/xml"); StringEntity entity = new StringEntity(request, "UTF-8"); entity.setContentType("application/xml"); post.setEntity(entity); It seems to me that I am setting the correct media type everywhere possible. Anyone have an ideas?

  • Spring security custom ldap authentication provider

    - by wuntee
    I currently have my ldap authentication context set up like this: <ldap-server url="ldap://host/dn" manager-dn="cn=someuser" manager-password="somepass" /> <authentication-manager> <ldap-authentication-provider user-search-filter="(samaccountname={0})"/> </authentication-manager> Now, I need to be able to set up a custom authorities mapper (it uses a different ldap server) - so I am assuming I need to set up my ldap-server similar to (http://static.springsource.org/spring-security/site/docs/2.0.x/reference/ldap.html): <bean id="ldapAuthProvider" class="org.springframework.security.providers.ldap.LdapAuthenticationProvider"> <constructor-arg> <bean class="org.springframework.security.providers.ldap.authenticator.BindAuthenticator"> <constructor-arg ref="contextSource"/> <property name="userDnPatterns"> <list><value>uid={0},ou=people</value></list> </property> </bean> </constructor-arg> <constructor-arg> <bean class="org.springframework.security.ldap.populator.DefaultLdapAuthoritiesPopulator"> <constructor-arg ref="contextSource"/> <constructor-arg value="ou=groups"/> <property name="groupRoleAttribute" value="ou"/> </bean> </constructor-arg> </bean> But, how do I reference that 'ldapAuthProvider' to the ldap-server in the security context? I am also using spring-security 3, so '' does not exist...

  • JAVA: ICEFACES: component <ice:selectInputDate> mapped on a "java.util.Calendar" field

    - by blummihaela
Does anybody knows how can component <ice:selectInputDate> be mapped on a java.util.Calendar field, not java.util.Date? I am using from IceFaces version 1.8.2, the component <ice:selectInputDate>. This component requires to be bound with a java.util.Date proeprty. For example, value="#{bean.myDate}", the myDate field must be of type java.util.Date. But I need my date field to be of type java.util.Calendar. My trials: I have tried to use standard converter or a custom one: Standard one: <f:convertDateTime pattern="dd/MM/yyyy" /> it formats correct the value in GUI, but when setting it on the property bean.myDate of type Calendar I get following error message: [5/3/10 12:09:18:398 EEST] 00000021 lifecycle I WARNING: FacesMessage(s) have been enqueued, but may not have been displayed. sourceId=j_id12:j_id189:myDate[severity=(ERROR 2), summary=(/WEB-INF/xhtml............file.xhtml @507,51 value="#{bean.myDate}": Can't set property 'myDate' on class 'bean' to value '5/11/10 3:00 AM'.), detail=(/WEB-INF/xhtml........file.xhtml @507,51 value="#{bean.myDate}": Can't set property 'myDate' on class '...bean...' to value '5/11/10 3:00 AM'.)] Custom one: <f:converter converterId="c2d"/> getAsObject - returns the java.util.Calendar object out of the submitted String. getAsString - receives an Object, and returns the String formatted. NOTE: this method was hacked so instead of expecting java.util.Calendar, to be complementary with getAsObject method. Instead, the hacked method getAsString, expects an java.util.Date, provided as parameter (by ice:selectInputDate) and returns the String formatted. But still an error message occurs: [5/3/10 12:55:34:299 EEST] 0000001f D2DFaceletVie E com.icesoft.faces.facelets.D2DFaceletViewHandler renderResponse Problem in renderResponse: java.util.GregorianCalendar incompatible with java.util.Date java.lang.ClassCastException: java.util.GregorianCalendar incompatible with java.util.Date at com.icesoft.faces.component.selectinputdate.SelectInputDate.getTextToRender(SelectInputDate.java:252) Any hint is very useful! • Jaxb2Marshaller and primitive types

    - by Thomas Einwaller
Is it possible to create a web service operation using primitive or basic Java types when using the Jaxb2Marschaller in spring-ws? For example a method looking like this: @Override @PayloadRoot(localPart = "AddTaskRequest", namespace = "http://example.com/examplews/") public long addTask(final Task task) throws AddTaskFault { // do something return 0; } I am using the maven jaxws plugin to generate the interface and model classes from my WSDL. When I try to call the webservice I get the following error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: No adapter for endpoint [...]: Does your endpoint implement a supported interface like MessageHandler or PayloadEndpoint I found out that if I change the method to that: @Override @PayloadRoot(localPart = "AddTaskRequest", namespace = "http://example.com/examplews/") public JAXBElement<Long> addTask(final JAXBElement<Task> task) throws AddTaskFault { final ObjectFactory objectFactory = new ObjectFactory(); return objectFactory.createAddTaskResponse(0L); } I am able to call it - but this signature is not compatible with the interface generated by the maven jaxws plugin. What can I do to configure either spring-ws to be able to use the first kind of implementation or to tell maven jaxws plugin to generate the second variant of the interface? UPDATE: My relevant spring-ws config entries look like that: <bean id="marshaller" class="org.springframework.oxm.jaxb.Jaxb2Marshaller"> <property name="contextPath" value="com.example.examplews" /> </bean> <bean class="org.springframework.ws.server.endpoint.adapter.GenericMarshallingMethodEndpointAdapter"> <constructor-arg ref="marshaller" /> </bean> <bean class="org.springframework.ws.server.endpoint.mapping.PayloadRootAnnotationMethodEndpointMapping"> <property name="order" value="1" /> </bean>

  • Groovy on Grails: GORM and BitSets?

    - by Visionary Software Solutions
I don't see anything in the official documentation about unsupported persistence data types, so I'm working under the assumption that types available in the Groovy language should be handled. However, for the following domain class: class DocGroupPermissions { Workgroup workgroup; Document document; BitSet permissions = new BitSet(2) public DocGroupPermissions() {} void setPermissions(boolean canRead, boolean canWrite){ setReadPermissions(canRead) setWritePermissions(canWrite) } BitSet getPermissions() { return permissions } void setReadPermissions(boolean canRead) { permissions.set(0,canRead) } void setWritePermissions(boolean canWrite) { permissions.set(1,canWrite) } boolean getReadPermissions() { return permissions.get(0) } boolean getWritePermissions() { return permissions.get(1) } static belongsTo = [workgroup:Workgroup, document:Document] static constraints = { workgroup(nullable:false, blank:false) document(nullable:false, blank:false) } } I'm getting: 2009-11-15 16:46:12,298 [main] ERROR context.ContextLoader - Context initialization failed org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'messageSource': Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'transactionManager': Cannot resolve reference to bean 'sessionFactory' while setting bean property 'sessionFactory'; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'sessionFactory': Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is org.hibernate.MappingException: An association from the table doc_group_permissions refers to an unmapped class: java.util.BitSet Has anyone run into this before?

  • filterSecurityInterceptor and metadatasource implementation spring-security

Hi! I created a class that implements the FilterInvocationSecurityMetadataSource interface. I implemented it like this: public List<ConfigAttribute> getAttributes(Object object) { FilterInvocation fi = (FilterInvocation) object; Object principal = SecurityContextHolder.getContext().getAuthentication().getPrincipal(); Long companyId = ((ExtenededUser) principal).getCompany().getId(); String url = fi.getRequestUrl(); // String httpMethod = fi.getRequest().getMethod(); List<ConfigAttribute> attributes = new ArrayList<ConfigAttribute>(); FilterSecurityService service = (FilterSecurityService) SpringBeanFinder.findBean("filterSecurityService"); Collection<Role> roles = service.getRoles(companyId); for (Role role : roles) { for (View view : role.getViews()) { if (view.getUrl().equalsIgnoreCase(url)) attributes.add(new SecurityConfig(role.getName() + "_" + role.getCompany().getName())); } } return attributes; } when I debug my application I see it reaches this class, it only reaches getAllConfigAttributes method, that is empty as I said, and return null. after that it prints this warning: Could not validate configuration attributes as the SecurityMetadataSource did not return any attributes from getAllConfigAttributes(). • Can I use a property placeholder with Spring EL?

    - by David Easley
Before upgrading to Spring 3 I had this in my applicationContext.xml file: <bean class="com.northgateis.pole.ws.PolePayloadValidatingInterceptor"> <property name="validateRequest" value="${validateRequest}" /> <property name="validateResponse" value="${validateResponse}" /> </bean> where ${validateRequest) and ${validateRequest) refer to properties that may or may not be defined in my properties file. In Spring 2, if these proeprties were not present in the properties file the setters on the bean were not called and so the defaults hard-coded in PolePayloadValidatingInterceptor were used. After upgrading to Spring 3, it seems the behaviour is different: If the properties are not present in the properties file I get the following exception: SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanDefinitionStoreException: Invalid bean definition with name 'annotationMapping' defined in class path resource [com/northgateis/pole/ws/applicationContext-ws.xml]: Could not resolve placeholder 'validateRequest' at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer.processProperties(PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer.java:272) at org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyResourceConfigurer.postProcessBeanFactory(PropertyResourceConfigurer.java:75) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.invokeBeanFactoryPostProcessors(AbstractApplicationContext.java:640) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.invokeBeanFactoryPostProcessors(AbstractApplicationContext.java:615) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.refresh(AbstractApplicationContext.java:405) at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader.createWebApplicationContext(ContextLoader.java:272) I tried dabbling with Spring EL but the following doesn't seem to work: <bean class="com.northgateis.pole.ws.PolePayloadValidatingInterceptor"> <property name="validateRequest" value="${validateRequest?:true}" /> <property name="validateResponse" value="${validateResponse?:false}" /> </bean> The value after the Elvis operator is always used, even when the properties are defined in the proeprties file. Interesting that the syntax is accepted. Any suggestions?

  • Spring MVC: How to resolve the path to subdirectories of the root 'JSP' folder in a web application

    - by chrisjleu
What is a simple way to resolve the path to a JSP file that is not located in the root JSP directory of a web application using SpringMVCs viewResolvers? For example, suppose we have the following web application structure: web-app |-WEB-INF |-jsp |-secure |-admin.jsp |-admin2.jsp index.jsp login.jsp I would like to use some out-of-the-box components to resolve the JSP files within the jsp root folder and the secure subdirectory. I have a *-servlet.xml file that defines: an out-of-the-box, InternalResourceViewResolver: <bean id="jspViewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalResourceViewResolver"> <property name="viewClass" value="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.JstlView"></property> <property name="prefix" value="/WEB-INF/jsp/"></property> <property name="suffix" value=".jsp"></property> </bean> a handler mapping: <bean id="handlerMapping" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.handler.SimpleUrlHandlerMapping"> <property name="mappings"> <props> <prop key="/index.htm">urlFilenameViewController</prop> <prop key="/login.htm">urlFilenameViewController</prop> <prop key="/secure/**">urlFilenameViewController</prop> </props> </property> </bean> an out-of-the-box UrlFilenameViewController controller: <bean id="urlFilenameViewController" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.UrlFilenameViewController"> </bean> The problem I have is that requests to the JSPs in the secure directory cannot be resolved, as the jspViewResolver only has a prefix defined as /jsp/ and not /jsp/secure/. Is there a way to handle subdirectories like this? I would prefer to keep this structure because I'm also trying to make use of Spring Security and having all secure pages in a subdirectory is a nice way to do this. There's probably a simple way to acheive this but I'm new to Spring and the Spring MVC framework so any pointers would be appreciated.

  • How do I add array indices to the XML produced by JAXB?

  • JSF2.0: variable list of custom component

    - by rattaman
Hello Is there any way of using JSF2.0 in connection with variable lists of components? For example, lets say I have list o people that I would like to edit. They are presented on the page as list of components PersonEditor, which allow changing person data. Each editor is associated with single Person element. In order for this to work I need to perform following steps: On initial request: Get list of people For each person create PersonEditor and associate it with Person object. Fill editor's data. On user action: When user changes values and presses Save, data is processed by backing bean. I can either fill editor with data from list of people or bind it to the backing bean, but not at the same time, so I am stuck. I tried people.xhtml <ui:render value="#{bean.people}" var="person"> <example:personEditor person="#{person}"/> </ui:render> where personEditor.xhtml: a) proper association with person object, but no connection to backing bean <h:form> <h:outputText value="#{cc.attr.person.name}"/> <h:commandButton name="Save" actionListener="editorBean.save"> <f:ajax execute="@form" render="@form"/> </h:commandButton> </h:form> b) no association with person object, but there is connection to backing bean - there is no way to pass that person to the backing bean <h:form> <h:outputText value="#{editorBean.name}"/> <h:commandButton name="Save" actionListener="editorBean.save"> <f:ajax execute="@form" render="@form"/> </h:commandButton> </h:form> If I had each editor on separate page, I could pass the person id as url parameter (either using f:param or f:attribute) and initialize it accordingly. Is there any solution to this problem?

  • Should I use rel=index or rel=contents in this instance?

    - by Martin Bean
I’m creating an MMA website. There’s the home page, there’s a fighters section whose index page lists fighters in the organisation, and then each fighter has a profile page. The URL structure is like this: / /fighters/ /fighters/john-doe My question is: on the fighter’s profile page I want to link to the fighters index page (/fighters). In my HTML page, which meta tag would be the most appropriate? <link href="/fighters/" rel="index" /> Or: <link href="/fighters/" rel="contents" /> I’m having trouble distinguishing which would be best, and whether rel="index" would be the index for the whole site or the current page/section I’m viewing?

In this tutorial, you will create a Java EE 6 Web Application and add the following components to it - a Stateless Session Bean with two asynchronous methods. You define a Servlet to call the asynchronous methods and to keep track of the invocation and completion times to demonstrate the asynchronous nature of the method calls. The index.jsp will contain a form with a submit button, Run allowing you to execute the application. The form will submit to the Servlet which invokes the asynchronous methods defined in the session bean and the response is re-directed to response.jsp. Information about the asynchronous handling procedure is displayed to users. From this information, users will notice that the invoker thread and the called asynchronous thread are working concurrently. Check out this new OBE on the Oracle Learning Library: Creating Asynchronous Methods in EJB 3.1. This OBE is part of the new EJB 3.1 New Features Series.
