  • EJB3 JNDI Lookup Failure in JEE application client

    - by Hank
I'm trying to access an EJB3 from a JEE client-application, but keep getting nothing but lookup failures. My JEE Application 'CoreServer' is exposing a number of beans with remote interfaces. I have no problem accessing them from a Web Application deployed on the same Glassfish v3.0.1. Now I'm trying to access it from a client-application: public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { CampaignControllerRemote bean = null; try { InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(); bean = (CampaignControllerRemote) ctx.lookup("java:global/CoreServer/CampaignController"); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println(e.getMessage()); } if (bean != null) { Campaign campaign = bean.get(361); if (campaign != null) { System.out.println("Got "+ campaign); } } } } When I run deploy it to Glassfish and run it from the appclient, I get this error: Lookup failed for 'java:global/CoreServer/CampaignController' in SerialContext targetHost=localhost,targetPort=3700,orb'sInitialHost=localhost,orb'sInitialPort=3700 However, that's exactly the same JNDI-name I use when I lookup the bean from the WebApplication (via SessionContext, not InitialContext - does that matter?). Also, when I deploy 'CoreServer', Glassfish reports: Portable JNDI names for EJB CampaignController : [java:global/CoreServer/CampaignController!mvs.api.CampaignControllerRemote, java:global/CoreServer/CampaignController] Glassfish-specific (Non-portable) JNDI names for EJB CampaignController : [mvs.api.CampaignControllerRemote, mvs.api.CampaignControllerRemote#mvs.api.CampaignControllerRemote] I tried all four names, none worked. Is the appclient unable to access beans with (only) Remote interfaces?

  • LDAP change user pass on client

    - by Sean
I am trying to allow ldap users to change their password on client machines. I have tried pam every which way I can think of /etc/ldap.conf & /etc/pam_ldap.conf, as well. At this point I'm stuck. Client: Ubuntu 11.04 Server: Debian 6.0 The current output is this: sobrien4@T-E700F-1:~$ passwd passwd: Authentication service cannot retrieve authentication info passwd: password unchanged /var/log/auth.log gives this during the command: May 9 10:49:06 T-E700F-1 passwd[18515]: pam_unix(passwd:chauthtok): user "sobrien4" does not exist in /etc/passwd May 9 10:49:06 T-E700F-1 passwd[18515]: pam_ldap: ldap_simple_bind Can't contact LDAP server May 9 10:49:06 T-E700F-1 passwd[18515]: pam_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... May 9 10:49:06 T-E700F-1 passwd[18515]: pam_ldap: ldap_simple_bind Can't contact LDAP server getent passwd |grep sobrien4 (note keeping short since testing with that account, however it outputs all ldap users): sobrien4:Ffm1oHzwnLz0U:10000:12001:Sean O'Brien:/home/sobrien4:/bin/bash getent group shows all ldap groups. /etc/pam.d/common-password (Note this is just the most current, I have tried a lot of different options): password required pam_cracklib.so retry=3 minlen=8 difok=3 password [success=1 default=ignore] pam_unix.so use_authtok md5 password required pam_ldap.so use_authtok password required pam_permit.so Popped open wireshark as well, the server & client are talking. I have the password changing working on the server. I.E. the server that runs slapd, I can log in with the ldap user and change the passwords. I tried copying the working configs from the server initially and no dice. I also tried cloning it, and just changing ip & host, and no go. My guess is that the client is not authorized by ip or hostname to change a pass. Pertaining to the slapd conf, I saw this in a guide and tried it: access to attrs=loginShell, gecos by dn="cn=admin,dc=cengineering,dc=etb" write by self write by * read access to * by dn="cn=admin,dc=cengineering,dc=etb" write by self write by * read So ldap seems to be working okay, just can't change the password.

  • Merge\Combine two datatables

    - by madlan
I'm trying to merge\combine two datatables. I've looked at various examples and answers but they seem to create duplicate rows or require indexes (merge on datatable etc) I can't do this via SQL as one source is from a linked Oracle server accessed via MSSQL and the other from a different MSSQL Server that does not have linked access. The data is currently very simple: Name, Email, Phone DataTable1: "John Clark", "", "01522 55231" "Alex King", "[email protected]", "01522 55266" "Marcus Jones", "[email protected]", "01522 55461" DataTable2: "John Clark", "[email protected]", "01522 55231" "Alex King", "[email protected]", "" "Marcus Jones", "[email protected]", "01522 55461" "Warren bean", "[email protected]", "01522 522311" Giving a datatable with the following: "John Clark", "[email protected]", "01522 55231" "Alex King", "[email protected]", "01522 55266" "Marcus Jones", "[email protected]", "01522 55461" "Warren bean", "[email protected]", "01522 522311" Name is the field to match records on, with the first datatable taking priority.

  • Disable Autocommit in H2 with Hibernate/C3P0 ?

    - by HDave
I have a JPA/Hibernate application and am trying to get it to run against H2 (as well as other databases). Currently I am using Atomikos for transaction and C3P0 for connection pooing. Despite my best efforts I am still seeing this in the log file (and DAO integration tests are failing): [20100613 23:06:34] DEBUG [main] SessionFactoryImpl.(242) | instantiating session factory with properties: .....edited for brevity.... hibernate.connection.autocommit=true, ....more stuff follows The connection URL to H2 has AUTOCOMMIT=OFF, but according to the H2 documentation: this will not work as expected when using a connection pool (the connection pool manager will re-enable autocommit when returning the connection to the pool, so autocommit will only be disabled the first time the connection is used So I figured (apparently correctly) that Hibernate is where I'll have to indicate I want autocommit off. I found the autocommit property documented here and I put it in my EntityManagerFactory config as follows: <bean id="myappTestLocalEmf" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean"> <property name="persistenceUnitName" value="myapp-core" /> <property name="persistenceUnitPostProcessors"> <bean class="com.myapp.core.persist.util.JtaPersistenceUnitPostProcessor"> <property name="jtaDataSource" ref="myappPersistTestJdbcDataSource" /> </bean> </property> <property name="jpaVendorAdapter"> <bean class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.vendor.HibernateJpaVendorAdapter"> <property name="showSql" value="true" /> <property name="database" value="$DS{hibernate.database}" /> <property name="databasePlatform" value="$DS{hibernate.dialect}" /> </bean> </property> <property name="jpaProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.factory_class">com.atomikos.icatch.jta.hibernate3.AtomikosJTATransactionFactory</prop> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.manager_lookup_class">com.atomikos.icatch.jta.hibernate3.TransactionManagerLookup</prop> <prop key="hibernate.connection.autocommit">false</prop> <prop key="hibernate.format_sql">true"</prop> <prop key="hibernate.use_sql_comments">true</prop> </property> </bean>

  • How to marshall non-string objects with JAXB and Spring

    - by lesula
I was trying to follow this tutorial in order to create my own restful web-service using Spring framework. The client do a GET request to, let's say http://api.myapp/app/students and the server returns an xml version of the object classroom: @XmlRootElement(name = "class") public class Classroom { private String classId = null; private ArrayList<Student> students = null; public Classroom() { } public String getClassId() { return classId; } public void setClassId(String classId) { this.classId = classId; } @XmlElement(name="student") public ArrayList<Student> getStudents() { return students; } public void setStudents(ArrayList<Student> students) { this.students = students; } } The object Student is another bean containing only Strings. In my app-servlet.xml i copied this lines: <bean id="studentsView" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.xml.MarshallingView"> <constructor-arg ref="jaxbMarshaller" /> </bean> <!-- JAXB2 marshaller. Automagically turns beans into xml --> <bean id="jaxbMarshaller" class="org.springframework.oxm.jaxb.Jaxb2Marshaller"> <property name="classesToBeBound"> <list> <value>com.spring.datasource.Classroom</value> <value>com.spring.datasource.Student</value> </list> </property> </bean> Now my question is: what if i wanted to insert some non-string objects as class variables? Let's say i want a tag containing the String version of an InetAddress, such as <inetAddress>192.168.1.1</inetAddress> How can i force JAXB to call the method inetAddress.toString() in such a way that it appears as a String in the xml? In the returned xml non-string objects are ignored!

  • Spring transaction demarcation causes new Hibernate session despite use of OSIV

I'm using Hibernate with OpenSessionInViewInterceptor so that a single Hibernate session will be used for the entire HTTP request (or so I wish). The problem is that Spring-configured transaction boundaries are causing a new session to be created, so I'm running into the following problem (pseudocode): Start in method marked @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.SUPPORTS, readOnly = false) Hibernate session #1 starts Call DAO method to update object foo; foo gets loaded into session cache for session #1 Call another method to update foo.bar, this one is marked @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRED, readOnly = false) Transaction demarcation causes suspension of current transaction synchronization, which temporarily unbinds the current Hibernate session Hibernate session #2 starts since there's no currently-existing session Update field bar on foo (loading foo into session cache #2); persist to DB Transaction completes and method returns, session #1 resumes Call yet another method to update another field on foo Load foo from session cache #1, with old, incorrect value of bar Update field foo.baz, persist foo to DB foo.bar's old value overwrites the change we made in the previous step Configuration looks like: <bean name="openSessionInViewInterceptor" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.support.OpenSessionInViewInterceptor" autowire="byName"> <property name="flushModeName"> <value>FLUSH_AUTO</value> </property> </bean> <bean id="txManager" class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DataSourceTransactionManager"> <property name="dataSource" ref="myDataSource" /> </bean> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="useTransactionAwareDataSource" value="true" /> <property name="mappingLocations"> <list> <value>/WEB-INF/xml/hibernate/content.hbm.xml</value> </list> </property> <property name="lobHandler"> <ref local="oracleLobHandler" /> </property> <!--property name="entityInterceptor" ref="auditLogInterceptor" /--> <property name="hibernateProperties" ref="HibernateProperties" /> <property name="dataSource" ref="myDataSource" /> </bean> I've done some debugging and figured out exactly where this is happening, here is the stack trace: Daemon Thread [http-8080-1] (Suspended (entry into method doUnbindResource in TransactionSynchronizationManager)) TransactionSynchronizationManager.doUnbindResource(Object) line: 222 TransactionSynchronizationManager.unbindResource(Object) line: 200 SpringSessionSynchronization.suspend() line: 115 DataSourceTransactionManager(AbstractPlatformTransactionManager).doSuspendSynchronization() line: 620 DataSourceTransactionManager(AbstractPlatformTransactionManager).suspend(Object) line: 549 DataSourceTransactionManager(AbstractPlatformTransactionManager).getTransaction(TransactionDefinition) line: 372 TransactionInterceptor(TransactionAspectSupport).createTransactionIfNecessary(TransactionAttribute, String) line: 263 TransactionInterceptor.invoke(MethodInvocation) line: 101 ReflectiveMethodInvocation.proceed() line: 171 JdkDynamicAopProxy.invoke(Object, Method, Object[]) line: 204 $Proxy14.changeVisibility(Long, ContentStatusVO, ContentAuditData) line: not available I can't figure out why transaction boundaries (even "nested" ones - though here we're just moving from SUPPORTS to REQUIRED) would cause the Hibernate session to be suspended, even though OpenSessionInViewInterceptor is in use. When the session is unbound, I see the following in my logs: [2010-02-16 18:20:59,150] DEBUG org.springframework.transaction.support.TransactionSynchronizationManager Removed value [org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.SessionHolder@7def534e] for key [org.hibernate.impl.SessionFactoryImpl@693f23a2] from thread [http-8080-1]

  • I'm using spring, hibernate and mysql. How can I let my app create the table automatically.

    - by Yousui
    Hi guys, I'm using spring, all my annotated entity class information are put in the ApplicationContext.xml. I'm using a MySql database, now how can I use the SchemaExport function in hibernate to create the tables? My application can't create the table automatically, though i have set <prop key="hbm2ddl.auto">create</prop>. This is my ApplicationContext.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:aop="http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop" xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context" xmlns:jdbc="http://www.springframework.org/schema/jdbc" xmlns:jee="http://www.springframework.org/schema/jee" xmlns:tx="http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop/spring-aop-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/context http://www.springframework.org/schema/context/spring-context-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/jdbc http://www.springframework.org/schema/jdbc/spring-jdbc-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/jee http://www.springframework.org/schema/jee/spring-jee-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx/spring-tx-3.0.xsd"> <bean id="dataSource" class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource"> <property name="driverClassName" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" /> <property name="url" value="jdbc:mysql:///edde" /> <property name="username" value="root" /> <property name="password" value="" /> </bean> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource" /> <property name="annotatedClasses"> <list> <value>com.edde.Book</value> </list> </property> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="current_session_context_class">thread</prop> <prop key="show_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hbm2ddl.auto">create</prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.use_sql_comments">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.format_sql">true</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory" /> </bean> <tx:annotation-driven transaction-manager="transactionManager" /> <bean id="bookDao" class="com.edde.BookDao"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory"></property> </bean> <bean id="bookService" class="com.edde.BookServiceImpl"> <property name="dao" ref="bookDao"></property> </bean> </beans> This is my test application: package com.edde; import org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext; public class Test { /** * @param args */ public static void main(String[] args) { ClassPathXmlApplicationContext factory = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext("applicationContext.xml"); BookService service = (BookService) factory.getBean("bookService"); Book book = new Book(); book.setBookName("great book"); service.saveBook(book); } } When I run my app, I get this error: 2010-05-20 17:25:20,777 DEBUG [org.hibernate.SQL] - /* insert com.edde.Book */ insert into Book (author, bookName, publication) values (?, ?, ?)   • testing dao with hibernate genericdao pattern with spring.Headache

    - by black sensei
Hello good fellas! in my journey of learning hibernate i came across an article on hibernate site. i' learning spring too and wanted to do certain things to discover the flexibility of spring by letting you implement you own session.yes i don't want to use the hibernateTemplate(for experiment). and i'm now having a problem and even the test class.I followed the article on the hibernate site especially the section an "implementation with hibernate" so we have the generic dao interface : public interface GenericDAO<T, ID extends Serializable> { T findById(ID id, boolean lock); List<T> findAll(); List<T> findByExample(T exampleInstance); T makePersistent(T entity); void makeTransient(T entity); } it's implementation in an abstract class that is the same as the one on the web site. Please refer to it from the link i provide.i'll like to save this post to be too long now come my dao's messagedao interface package com.project.core.dao; import com.project.core.model.MessageDetails; import java.util.List; public interface MessageDAO extends GenericDAO<MessageDetails, Long>{ //Message class is on of my pojo public List<Message> GetAllByStatus(String status); } its implementation is messagedaoimpl: public class MessageDAOImpl extends GenericDAOImpl <Message, Long> implements MessageDAO { // mySContainer is an interface which my HibernateUtils implement mySContainer sessionManager; /** * */ public MessageDAOImpl(){} /** * * @param sessionManager */ public MessageDAOImpl(HibernateUtils sessionManager){ this.sessionManager = sessionManager; } //........ plus other methods } here is my HibernatUtils public class HibernateUtils implements SessionContainer { private final SessionFactory sessionFactory; private Session session; public HibernateUtils() { this.sessionFactory = new AnnotationConfiguration().configure().buildSessionFactory(); } public HibernateUtils(SessionFactory sessionFactory) { this.sessionFactory = sessionFactory; } /** * * this is the function that return a session. So i'm free to implements any type of session in here. */ public Session requestSession() { // if (session != null || session.isOpen()) { // return session; // } else { session = sessionFactory.openSession(); // } return session; } } So in my understanding while using spring(will provide the conf), i'ld wire sessionFactory to my HiberbernateUtils and then wire its method RequestSession to the Session Property of the GenericDAOImpl (the one from the link provided). here is my spring config core.xml <bean id="sessionManager" class="com.project.core.dao.hibernate.HibernateUtils"> <constructor-arg ref="sessionFactory" /> </bean> <bean id="messageDao" class="com.project.core.dao.hibernate.MessageDAOImpl"> <constructor-arg ref="sessionManager"/> </bean> <bean id="genericDAOimpl" class="com.project.core.dao.GenericDAO"> <property name="session" ref="mySession"/> </bean> <bean id="mySession" factory-bean="com.project.core.dao.SessionContainer" factory-method="requestSession"/> now my test is this public class MessageDetailsDAOImplTest extends AbstractDependencyInjectionSpringContextTests{ HibernateUtils sessionManager = (HibernateUtils) applicationContext.getBean("sessionManager"); MessageDAO messagedao =(MessageDAO) applicationContext.getBean("messageDao"); static Message[] message = new Message[] { new Message("text",1,"test for dummies 1","1234567890","Pending",new Date()), new Message("text",2,"test for dummies 2","334455669990","Delivered",new Date()) }; public MessageDAOImplTest() { } @Override protected String[] getConfigLocations(){ return new String[]{"file:src/main/resources/core.xml"}; } @Test public void testMakePersistent() { System.out.println("MakePersistent"); messagedao.makePersistent(message[0]); Session session = sessionManager.RequestSession(); session.beginTransaction(); MessageDetails fromdb = ( Message) session.load(Message.class, message[0].getMessageId()); assertEquals(fromdb.getMessageId(), message[0].getMessageId()); assertEquals(fromdb.getDateSent(),message.getDateSent()); assertEquals(fromdb.getGlobalStatus(),message.getGlobalStatus()); assertEquals(fromdb.getNumberOfPages(),message.getNumberOfPages()); } i'm having this error exception in constructor testMakePersistent(java.lang.NullPointerException at com.project.core.dao.hibernate.MessageDAOImplTest) with this stack : at com.project.core.dao.hibernate.MessageDAOImplTest.(MessageDAOImplTest.java:28) at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.java:27) at java.lang.reflect.Constructor.newInstance(Constructor.java:513) at junit.framework.TestSuite.createTest(TestSuite.java:61) at junit.framework.TestSuite.addTestMethod(TestSuite.java:283) at junit.framework.TestSuite.(TestSuite.java:146) at org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.optional.junit.JUnitTestRunner.run(JUnitTestRunner.java:481) at org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.optional.junit.JUnitTestRunner.launch(JUnitTestRunner.java:1031) at org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.optional.junit.JUnitTestRunner.main(JUnitTestRunner.java:888) )) How to actually make this one work.I know this is a lot to stuffs and i'm thanking you for reading it.Please give me a solution. How would you do this? thanks

  • Spring with Castor - Null Pointer Exception when initialising Application Context

    - by babyangel86
    Hi, I'm trying to register my castor mapping files with spring and I appear to be getting a null pointer exception. In my application context I have: <bean id="xmlContext" class="org.castor.spring.xml.XMLContextFactoryBean"> <property name="mappingLocations"> <list> <value>DistributionSamplerMappings.xml</value> </list> </property> <property name="castorProperties"> <props> <prop key="org.exolab.castor.xml.strictelements">false</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <bean id="marshaller" class="org.castor.spring.xml.CastorMarshallerFactoryBean"> <property name="xmlContext"><ref local="xmlContext"/></property> </bean> <bean id="unmarshaller" class="org.castor.spring.xml.CastorUnmarshallerFactoryBean"> <property name="xmlContext"> <ref local="xmlContext"/></property> <property name="ignoreExtraElements"><value>true</value></property> <property name="ignoreExtraAttributes"><value>true</value></property> </bean> Where DistributionSamplerMappings.xml lives in the same dir as the application context. I've tried using the spring-xml jar 1.2.1 and 1.5.3. but none of them seem to help. • How to inject JPA EntityManager using spring

    - by marcos
Hello all! I have a few questions about jpa + spring integration running on tomcat, i've been looking fo some time and couldn't find any concrete answer, so here it goes: Is it possible to have spring to inject the JPA entityManager object into my DAO class without extending JpaDaoSupport? if yes, does spring manage the transaction in this case? I'm trying to keep spring configuration as simple as possible: <bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.JpaTransactionManager"> <property name="entityManagerFactory" ref="em"/> </bean> <bean id="em" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalEntityManagerFactoryBean"> <property name="persistenceUnitName" value="myPU"/> </bean> EDIT: that was very helpfull, thank you all!

The part of database config. <bean id="dataSource" class="com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource" destroy-method="close"> <property name="user" value="${jdbc.username}"/> <property name="password" value="${jdbc.password}"/> <property name="driverClass" value="${jdbc.driverClassName}"/> <property name="jdbcUrl" value="${jdbc.url}"/> <property name="initialPoolSize"> <value>${jdbc.initialPoolSize}</value> </property> <property name="minPoolSize"> <value>${jdbc.minPoolSize}</value> </property> <property name="maxPoolSize"> <value>${jdbc.maxPoolSize}</value> </property> <property name="acquireRetryAttempts"> <value>${jdbc.acquireRetryAttempts}</value> </property> <property name="acquireIncrement"> <value>${jdbc.acquireIncrement}</value> </property> <property name="idleConnectionTestPeriod"> <value>${jdbc.idleConnectionTestPeriod}</value> </property> <property name="maxIdleTime"> <value>${jdbc.maxIdleTime}</value> </property> <property name="maxConnectionAge"> <value>${jdbc.maxConnectionAge}</value> </property> <property name="preferredTestQuery"> <value>${jdbc.preferredTestQuery}</value> </property> <property name="testConnectionOnCheckin"> <value>${jdbc.testConnectionOnCheckin}</value> </property> </bean> <bean id="lobHandler" class="org.springframework.jdbc.support.lob.DefaultLobHandler" /> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean"> <property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource" /> <property name="configLocation" value="/WEB-INF/hibernate.cfg.xml" /> <property name="configurationClass" value="org.hibernate.cfg.AnnotationConfiguration" /> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">${hibernate.dialect}</prop> </props> </property> <property name="lobHandler" ref="lobHandler" /> </bean> <tx:annotation-driven transaction-manager="txManager" /> <bean id="txManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory" /> </bean> The part of entity class @Lob @Basic(fetch=FetchType.LAZY) @Column(name = "BlobField", columnDefinition = "LONGBLOB") @Type(type = "org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.support.BlobByteArrayType") private byte[] blobField; The problem description. I'm trying to display on a web page database records related to files, which was saved in MySQL database. All works fine if a volume of data is small. But the volume of data is big I'm recieving an error "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space" I've tried to write in blobFields null values on each row of table. In this case, application works fine, memory doesn't go out of. I have a conclusion that the blob field which is marked as lazy (@Basic(fetch=FetchType.LAZY)) isn't lazy, actually! How can I solve the issie? Many thanks for advance.

  • Hibernate Lazy initialization exception problem with Gilead in GWT 2.0 integration

    - by sylsau
Hello, I use GWT 2.0 as UI layer on my project. On server side, I use Hibernate. For example, this is 2 domains entities that I have : public class User { private Collection<Role> roles; @ManyToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL, fetch = FetchType.LAZY, mappedBy = "users", targetEntity = Role.class) public Collection<Role> getRoles() { return roles; } ... } public class Role { private Collection<User> users; @ManyToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL, fetch = FetchType.LAZY, targetEntity = User.class) public Collection<User> getUsers() { return users; } ... } On my DAO layer, I use UserDAO that extends HibernateDAOSupport from Spring. UserDAO has getAll method to return all of Users. And on my DAO service, I use UserService that uses userDAO to getAll of Users. So, when I get all of Users from UsersService, Users entities returned are detached from Hibernate session. For that reason, I don't want to use getRoles() method on Users instance that I get from my service. What I want is just to transfer my list of Users thanks to a RPC Service to be able to use others informations of Users in client side with GWT. Thus, my main problem is to be able to convert PersistentBag in Users.roles in simple List to be able to transfer via RPC the Users. To do that, I have seen that Gilead Framework could be a solution. In order to use Gilead, I have changed my domains entities. Now, they extend net.sf.gilead.pojo.gwt.LightEntity and they respect JavaBean specification. On server, I expose my services via RPC thanks to GwtRpcSpring framework (http://code.google.com/p/gwtrpc-spring/). This framework has an advice that makes easier Gilead integration. My applicationContext contains the following configuration for Gilead : <bean id="gileadAdapterAdvisor" class="org.gwtrpcspring.gilead.GileadAdapterAdvice" /> <aop:config> <aop:aspect id="gileadAdapterAspect" ref="gileadAdapterAdvisor"> <aop:pointcut id="gileadPointcut" expression="execution(public * com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.RemoteService.*(..))" /> <aop:around method="doBasicProfiling" pointcut-ref="gileadPointcut" /> </aop:aspect> </aop:config> <bean id="proxySerializer" class="net.sf.gilead.core.serialization.GwtProxySerialization" /> <bean id="proxyStore" class="net.sf.gilead.core.store.stateless.StatelessProxyStore"> <property name="proxySerializer" ref="proxySerializer" /> </bean> <bean id="persistenceUtil" class="net.sf.gilead.core.hibernate.HibernateUtil"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory" /> </bean> <bean class="net.sf.gilead.core.PersistentBeanManager"> <property name="proxyStore" ref="proxyStore" /> <property name="persistenceUtil" ref="persistenceUtil" /> </bean> The code of the the method doBasicProfiling is the following : @Around("within(com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.RemoteService..*)") public Object doBasicProfiling(ProceedingJoinPoint pjp) throws Throwable { if (log.isDebugEnabled()) { String className = pjp.getSignature().getDeclaringTypeName(); String methodName = className .substring(className.lastIndexOf(".") + 1) + "." + pjp.getSignature().getName(); log.debug("Wrapping call to " + methodName + " for PersistentBeanManager"); } GileadHelper.parseInputParameters(pjp.getArgs(), beanManager, RemoteServiceUtil.getThreadLocalSession()); Object retVal = pjp.proceed(); retVal = GileadHelper.parseReturnValue(retVal, beanManager); return retVal; } With that configuration, when I run my application and I use my RPC Service that gets all of Users, I obtain a lazy initialization exception from Hibernate from Users.roles. I am disappointed because I thought that Gilead would let me to serialize my domain entities even if these entities contained PersistentBag. It's not one of the goals of Gilead ? So, someone would know how to configure Gilead (with GwtRpcSpring or other solution) to be able to transfer domain entities without Lazy exception ? Thanks by advance for your help. Sylvain

  • How do I present a RichFaces tree with a specific node already expanded

    - by Brummo
I have a JSF page that displays a RichFaces Treeview, from a TreeNodeImpl model generated in the backing bean. Now I want the page to display initially with a specific node expanded / selected. Preferrably this expansion should be controlled from the backing bean (no javascript wizardry) The whole tree has been generated at the time of initialization of the backing bean Is this possible? I have seen mentioning of TreeState, is that the way to go?

  • Adding a row to an existing datatable in JSF

    - by shyamb
Hi, I have a requirement of changing an existing JSF 1.1 project where I need to add an additional row to a datatable on click of a button. Currently the datatable loads 3 rows from the backing bean and this new button should add additional rows to the datatable on each click. Using the suggestion provided by http://balusc.blogspot.com/2006/06/using-datatables.html I was able to display the additional row on the UI but I could not save the new data back to the database because the backing bean is in request scope and I cannot change the scope of this bean as it would create other issues. Can somebody provide me a solution to display the new row and also to save the data back to the database when the backing bean is in request scope. Thanks Shyam

  • How to override the behavior of Spring @Autowired

    - by Mark
Hi a little background: I am Using Spring 2.5, and specifically spring IOC and annotations. I am using @Autowired in my code (the Autowiring is done by type) and use @Component for exposing Classes to the Automatic wiring. The situation described bellow arose while i tried to test my code. now to the problem: Note: i use a different Spring Context for the Test environment. I have a class FOO which is @Autowired but in the test context i want to use a different class of the same type MockFoo (extends FOO) The Spring Setup of course fails do so automatically due to multiple options for the Dependency Injection of the FOO class (both FOO and MockFOO comply to the Type check) I am looking for a way to inject the test bean instead of the original bean. I expected Spring to allow using the Context configurion file to override a bean injection or to order Spring not to autowire a specific bean BUT All these option seem to exists only for the beans which were originally defined in the Spring Context Configuration file

  • How do I get my dependenices inject using @Configurable in conjunction with readResolve()

    - by bmatthews68
The framework I am developing for my application relies very heavily on dynamically generated domain objects. I recently started using Spring WebFlow and now need to be able to serialize my domain objects that will be kept in flow scope. I have done a bit of research and figured out that I can use writeReplace() and readResolve(). The only catch is that I need to look-up a factory in the Spring context. I tried to use @Configurable(preConstruction = true) in conjunction with the BeanFactoryAware marker interface. But beanFactory is always null when I try to use it in my createEntity() method. Neither the default constructor nor the setBeanFactory() injector are called. Has anybody tried this or something similar? I have included relevant class below. • Can not find Driver when using generic database bundle

    - by Marc
I have a project that is build up from several OSGi bundles. One of them is a generic Database bundle that defines a DataSource that can be used throughout the project. The spring bean definition of this service is: <osgi:service interface="javax.sql.DataSource"> <bean class="org.postgresql.ds.PGPoolingDataSource"> <property name="databaseName" value="xxx" /> <property name="serverName" value="xxx" /> <property name="user" value="xxx" /> <property name="password" value="xxx" /> </bean> </osgi:service> Now, when using this DataSource is a different bundle, we get an error: No suitable driver found for jdbc:postgresql://localhost/xxx I have tried the following to add the org.postgresql.Driver to the DriverManager: Instantiated an empty bean for that Driver in the spring context, like this: <bean class="org.postgresql.Driver" /> Instantiated the Driver statically in one of the classes, like this: Class.forName("org.postgresql.Driver"); Added a file META-INF\services\java.sql.Driver with the content org.postgresql.Driver None of these solutions seems to help.

  • NonUniqueObjectException during DAO integration test?

    - by HDave
I have a JPA/Hibernate application and am trying to get it to run against H2 and MySQL. Currently I am using Atomikos for transactions and C3P0 for connection pooling. Despite my best efforts my DAO integration tests are failing with org.hibernate.NonUniqueObjectException. I do tend to re-use the same object (same ID even) over and over for all the different tests and I am sure that is the cause, but I can see in the logs that Spring Test and Atomikos are clearly rolling back the transaction associated with each test method. I would have thought the rollback would have also cleared the persistence context too. On a hunch, I added an a call to dao.clear() at the beginning of the faulty test methods and the problem went away!! Rollback doesn't clear the persistence context...hmmm.... Not sure if this is relevant, but I see a possible autocommit setting problem in the log file: [20100613 23:06:34] DEBUG [main] SessionFactoryImpl.(242) | instantiating session factory with properties: .....edited for brevity.... hibernate.connection.autocommit=true, ....more stuff follows Because I am using connection pooling, I figure that Hibernate is where I'll have to indicate I want autocommit off. I found the autocommit property documented here and I put it in my EntityManagerFactory config as follows: <bean id="myappTestLocalEmf" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean"> <property name="persistenceUnitName" value="myapp-core" /> <property name="persistenceUnitPostProcessors"> <bean class="com.myapp.core.persist.util.JtaPersistenceUnitPostProcessor"> <property name="jtaDataSource" ref="myappPersistTestJdbcDataSource" /> </bean> </property> <property name="jpaVendorAdapter"> <bean class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.vendor.HibernateJpaVendorAdapter"> <property name="showSql" value="true" /> <property name="database" value="$DS{hibernate.database}" /> <property name="databasePlatform" value="$DS{hibernate.dialect}" /> </bean> </property> <property name="jpaProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.factory_class">com.atomikos.icatch.jta.hibernate3.AtomikosJTATransactionFactory</prop> <prop key="hibernate.transaction.manager_lookup_class">com.atomikos.icatch.jta.hibernate3.TransactionManagerLookup</prop> <prop key="hibernate.connection.autocommit">false</prop> <prop key="hibernate.format_sql">true"</prop> <prop key="hibernate.use_sql_comments">true</prop> </property> </bean>
