    Heres the scenario, im on a network A, and i use a vpn client to connect network B to access the webservice which can be accessed in network B.Even though im connect to network B , im unable to access the webservice link.Do i need to configure any settings. But if u r originally in network B and even though if u have connected to network A using vpn client, im able to access the webservice link. But the other way isnt working.

  • How can I force all internet traffic over a PPTP VPN but still allow local lan access?

    I have a server running Linux Mint 12 that I want to keep connected to a PPTP VPN all the time. The VPN server is pretty reliable, but it drops on occasion so I just want to make it so all internet activity is disabled if the VPN connection is broken. I'd also like to figure out a way to restart it automatically, but that's not as big of an issue since this happens pretty rarely. I also want to always be able to connect to the box from my lan, regardless of whether the VPN is up or not.   • CNAME to another domain fails on some office networks, why?

    Our domain "aspenfasteners.com" is hosted by Volusion. We have CNAME records "find" and "search" which point to site indexing accounts on www.picosearch.com. These addresses fail on SOME private office networks which have their own DNS. We suspect the problem comes from Volusion's own name servers, n2.volusion.com and n3.volusion.com. Volusion support on problems this technical is non-existant. We have tried an NSLOOKUP on find.aspenfasteners.com with level 2 debugging info, and we got the results below. Is it possible that the local DNS is recursing to Volusion's name servers, and that while Volusion DOES return the canonical name, they do NOT resolve the address? Can anybody with expertise in this sort of stuff PLEASE look at the NSLOOKUP below and tell me if we are right, because Volusion is giving me absolutely NO support on this topic.     How can I mount windows share file system into RHEL? I'm not a sysadmin, but I got this task assigned :( I've tried this solution mount -t smbfs -o username=samba,password=samba //Desktop/Public /mnt/public But the output is: mount: unknown filesystem type 'smbfs' How can I mount a windows share into RHEL 5? FWIW I've successfully created a link with the menu: Places>Connect to Server>Service Type:Windows Share Which creates a link in the desktop, but I would need to programatically save files in that machine, hence I need it mounted as filesystem.     The problem is, both Firefox and Internet Explorer have "Open in New Tab" as the second option. This has become muscle memory for me by now, to the point that I don't use as often as I want to, solely because I can't open a page in a new tab without thinking about it. Is there a way to switch the position of "Open Link in new tab" and "Open link in new window", so that I can resume browsing as normal, or am I cursed by this user interface design nightmare by Google?

    Hi All, Is it possible to hyperlink a url in excel automatically. I mean when the cell starts with something like http or www can I hyperlink that. Currently, I have to hit enter in the cell value in the formula bar to make the link as clickable. Also if I change the value in the cell, the link doesnt get refreshed until I hit enter. Is there a way in excel where it will automatically detect and apply a hyperlink.

  • Routing table with two NIC adapters in libvirt/KVM

    I created a virtual NAT network (192.168.100.0/24 network) in my libvirt and new guest with two interfaces - one in this network, one as bridged (10.34.1.0/24 network) to the local LAN. The reason for that is I need to have my own virtual network for my DHCP/TFTP/DNS testing and still want to access my guest externally from my LAN. On both networks I have working DHCP, both giving them IP addresses. When I setup NAT port forwarding (e.g. for ssh), I can connect to the eth0 (virtual network), everything is fine. But when I try to access the eth1 via bridged interface, I have no response. I guess I have problem with my routing table - outgoing packets are routed to the virtual NAT network (which has access to the machine I am connecting from - I can ping it). But I am not sure if this setup is correct.     The version of Apache shipped in RHEL 5.4 is very old. A feature I need only shipped recently. It seems Apache upstream only ships tarballs, and omits binary packages. Obviously I could build from source, but what's the canonical way to upgrade a single package like this? Is it common procedure to drop a newer tarball in the existing SPEC, or does someone already do all this with an eye towards RHEL?

When I click a link, the link is something like: a.com/something/blah.php Then moments later the url in the browser changes to something like: a.com/somethingelse/blahblah.php Is there a way with any browser (especially firefox) to have it ask me before redirecting? I have tried the 'ask me before redirecting' feature in firefox but in this case since it redirects to its own site it does not seem to work.

  • Apache returns 403 Forbidden for alternative port vhost

    I'm having an issue getting vhosts to work on Apache 2.2, Debian 6. I have two VirtualHosts, one on port 80 and one on port 8888. The port 80 one has been created automatically by DirectAdmin, the 8888 is a custom one. It's configuration is as follows. <VirtualHost *:8888 > DocumentRoot /home/user/public_html/development ServerName www.myserver.nl ServerAlias myserver.nl <Directory "/home/user/public_html/development"> Options +Indexes +FollowSymLinks +MultiViews AllowOverride All Order Allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost> Of course I also have a NameVirtualHost *:8888 The port 80 DocumentRoot is /home/user/public_html/production, which is perfectly accessible and works like a charm. The port 8888 docroot of /home/user/public_html/development is 403 forbidden though. I have compared the permissions for both folders. The symbolic link has the following permissions: lrwxrwxrwx 1 admin admin 29 Aug 17 15:56 public_html -> ./domains/mydomain/public_html I'm at a loss. It seems that everything is readable or executable. I've set the Directory to FollowSymLinks in the httpd.conf file, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. If I change that directory tag to <Directory "/home/admin/public_html"> (so it has FollowSymLinks on that as well) it still does not work. Any help is greatly appreciated. If I need to post more information, let me know. I'm pretty much a beginner at this stuff. .. .. UPDATE: I ended up changing the configuration to directly go to the actual path of the files, avoiding the public_html symlink altogether. That worked. Thanks for the suggestions folks. It's quite bothering to: right click on rss link, choose "copy", then swich to tunderbird, right click on rss folder, choose "subscribe", push "Add", insert, ok. I'd prefer to: right click on rss link and choose the rss folder. The second motive for the question is that I'd like to look at implementation of interprocess manipulation of thunderbird. May be there is not exactly but something similar exist.

I have a collection of zip files in a folder in my home directory (~/zip_files) which I would like to be able to link to through apache, such that when somebody who visits my website which I'm using Apache to host clicks a link to one of the zip files, he can download it through the web.
