• LaTeX printing only first two pages of a document

  I am working in LaTeX, and when I create a pdf file (using LaTeX button or pdfLaTeX button or using yap) the pdf has only the first two pages. No errors. It just stops. If I make the first page longer by adding text, it still stops at end of 2nd page. Any ideas? • How to stop a WPF binding from ignoring the PropertyChanged event that it caused?

  I have a TextBox bound to a ViewModel's Text property with the following setup: Xaml <TextBox Text="{Binding Text}"/> C# public class ViewModel : INotifyPropertyChanged { public string Text { get { return m_Text; } set { if (String.Equals(m_Text, value)) { return; } m_Text = value.ToLower(); RaisePropertyChanged("Text"); } } // Snip } When I type some stuff in to the TextBox it successfully sets the Text property on the ViewModel. The problem is that WPF ignores the property changed event that is raised by it's own update. This results in the user not seeing the text they typed converted to lowercase. How can I change this behaviour so that the TextBox updates with lowercase text? Note: this is just an example I have used to illustrate the problem of WPF ignoring events. I'm not really interested in converting strings to lowercase or any issues with String.Equals(string, string).

It works on Linux, but does not work on Windows, I get WSAEADDRINUSE on connect() call when the previous connection is still in TIME_WAIT. • Specify Search Path for .net assembly binding/Fusion in app.config?

  I have an application that depends on other .net assemblies. When I start the application, I get an error that an assembly or one of its dependencies cannot be loaded. I do not want to put the assemblies into the GAC or into the Directory of the application. Is there a way (app.config?) to tell .net to look into a given path when trying to load assemblies? I believe I can use assembly binding for a single assembly, but I'm looking for a wildcard solution to add a path to the "search paths"

B.Jonson...D.......A......... Does the binding for example work on the RowHeader with properties of a custom object/entity ? And would sorting destroy the whole relations between the entities ? These fields basically are a shortcut to the instantiation of another model (Trip). Trip can have its own admin views, but these shortcuts are needed because when my project partners are entering 'Membership' data in the system they happen to have also the 'Trip' information handy (and also because some of the info in Membership can just be copied over to Trip etc. etc.). So all I want to have is two extra fields in the Membership Inline - placeVisited and pleasuretrip - which together with the Person instance will let me instantiate the Trip model in the background... I found out I can easily add extra fields to the inline view by defining my own form.   Since you apparently can't create a Silverlight DataTemplate in C#, I'm trying to create one in XAML. I have a converter that I need to refer to, that I have defined in C# in another namespace. I've tried doing this: <UserControl.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="PriceTemplate"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Price, Converter={Converters:PriceConverter}}" /> </DataTemplate> </UserControl.Resources> Where Converters is an xmlns that points to the correct namespace. However, I get a compilation error that says: Type 'Converters:PriceConverter' is used like a markup extension but does not derive from MarkupExtension. I tried adding System.Windows.Markup.MarkupExtension as a parent to my converter, but it apparently doesn't exist in Silverlight. How can I refer to my converter in XAML, without having to rewrite it in XAML?

• Passing null child object from parent object to a partial view

  I have an object which contains models for my ASP.NET MVC web app. The Model that is being passed into the view has sub models for "gadgets" on that particular view. Each of these sub models gets passed to a partial view (gadget). The problem is when I have a null model in the view model. See example below. View Model: public class FooBarHolder() { public FooBar1 FooBar1 { get; set; } public FooBar2 FooBar2 { get; set; } } We pass FooBarHolder into the view and inside the view we make calls such as <% Html.RenderPartial("Foo", Model.FooBar1); %> <% Html.RenderPartial("Foo2", Model.FooBar2); %> Now say for instance that Model.FooBar2 was null. What I am experiencing from the strongly typed partial view is an error that says "This view expected a model of type FooBar2 but got a model of type FooBarHolder." Why is this happening instead of just passing in a null?

  I am binding a List to a UI Control. My list does not contain a blank row, but I need to add one to allow the user to select blank. However, I'm using the same list in other parts of the application (users can edit/add/delete items) where it doesn't make sense to show a blank row. My idea is to create a wrapper around the list which adds a blank row just for the UI. The wrapper would hold a reference so that updates to the list (from other parts of the app) would be reflected in UI without any extra work. I have tried a few different ways, but nothing has worked out for me yet. Can anyone solve this problem?

  I have a SPA site that I'm working on, I have a requirement that you can have subroutes for a page view model. Im currently using this 'pattern' for the site MyApp.FooViewModel = MyApp.define({ meta: { query: MyApp.Core.Contracts.Queries.FooQuery, title: "Foo" }, init: function (queryResult) { }, prototype: { } }); In the master view model I have a route table this.navigation(new MyApp.RoutesViewModel({ Home: { model: MyApp.HomeViewModel, route: String.empty }, Foo: { model: MyApp.FooViewModel } })); The meta object defines which query should populate the top level view model when its invoked through sammyjs, this is all fine but it does not support sub routing My plan is to change the meta object so that it can (optional offcourse) look like this meta: { query: MyApp.Core.Contracts.Queries.FooQuery, title: "Foo", route: { barId: MyApp.BarViewModel } } When sammyjs detects a barId in the query string the Barmodel will be executed and populated through its own meta object. Is this a good design?

• Camera changes view when controller connected

  I have a weird situation. I have a model set to 0 for X,Y and Z. My camera's position is set to: 0 (X-value, but updates when the model moves around) the model's height + 20f (about the same level as the model's shoulders) 25f (behind the model) Without the controller plugged in, everything looks fine as I want it. But as soon as I plug the controller in, the camera aims to the sky! But when I unplug the controller, the camera is back to what it should be. Does anyone have any insight as to what may cause this from plugging a controller in?

  I am trying to implement a virtual file system structure in front of an object storage (Openstack). For availability reasons we initially chose Cassandra, however while designing file system data model, it looked like a tree structure similar to a relational model. Here is the dilemma for availability and partition tolerance we need NoSQL, but our data model is relational. The intended file system must be able to handle filtered search based on date, name etc. as fast as possible. So what path should i take? Stick to relational with some indexing mechanism backed by 3 rd tools like Apache Solr or dig deeper into NoSQL and find a suitable model and database satisfying the model? P.S: Currently from NoSQL Cassandra or MongoDB are choices proposed by my colleagues.

• Issue with Mapping Textures to Models in Blender

  I've been trying to texture a model using Blender, but when I draw on the UV Editor it doesn't show up on the model, and I can't draw on the model itself. I've tried saving the image and the 3D View is set to Texture. Everything seems to be in order and I've followed several tutorials, but none of them seem to work with the version I'm using (2.64-- update was necessary for import plugin) and I'm absolutely stumped. How can I draw textures to the model? If not within Blender itself, how do I export/import the textures? EDIT: Vertex Paint works, though it is insufficient for my purposes. In addition, moving to the rendered view produces a solid-color model with none of the applied textures.

  I'm working on an MVC-ish app (I'm not very experienced with MVC, hence the "-ish"). My model and data access layer are hard to test because they're very tightly coupled, so I'm trying to uncouple them. What is the nature of the relationship between them? Should just the model know about the DAL? Should just the DAL know about the model? Or should both the model and the DAL be listeners of the other? In my specific case, it's: a web application the model is client-side (javascript) the data is accessed from the back-end using Ajax persistence/back-end is currently PHP/MySQL, but may have to switch to Python/GoogleDataStore on the GAE

• Applying prerecorded animations to models with the same skeleton

  well my question sounds a bit like, how do I apply mo-cap animations to my model, but thats not really it I guess. Animations and model share the same skeleton, but the models vary in size and proportion, but I still want to be able to apply any animation to any model. I think this should be possible since the models got the same skeleton bone structure and the bones are always in the same area only their position varies from model to model. In particular Im trying to apply this to 2D characters that got 2arm, 2legs, a head and a body, but if you got anything related to that topic even if its 3D related or keywords, articles, books whatever Im gratefull for everything cause Im a bit stuck at the moment. cheers Jery

  I am developing a tool for simulating systems like the Gray-Scott model (That is systems where spatial distribution depends on time). The actual model is loaded from a DLL or shared object and the simulation is performed by a Simulation object. There are at least two situations when the simulation needs to be destroyed: The user loads a new model The user changes the size of the domain To make sure nothing goes wrong, the current Model, Simulation, and rendering Thread are all managed by an ApplicationState object. But the two cases above are initiated from two different UI objects. Is it then ok to distribute a reference to the ApplicationState object to all panels that need to access at least one method on the ApplicationState object? Another solution would be to use aggregation so that the panel from which the user chooses model knows the simulation parameter panel. Also, the ApplicationState class seems somewhat clumsy, so I would like to have something else

• DataForm commit button is not enabled when data changed.

  This is a weird problem. I am using a dataform, and when I edit the data the save button is enabled, but the cancel button is not. After looking around a bit I have found that I have to implement the IEditableObject in order to cancel an edit. Great I did that (and it all works), but now the commit button (Save) is grayed out, lol. Anyone have any idea's why the commit button will not activate any more? • How do I identify and fix the cause of transaction log growth on SIMPLE recovery model databases?

  I recently upgraded our SQL Server 2008 installations to service pack 2. One of our databases is on the simple recovery model, but its transaction log is growing extremely fast. The path I'm currently investigating is that we have a transaction somewhere out there stuck in active state. So, my line of thinking is that the trans_sp_MScreate_peer_tables transaction is stuck for some reason and holding up transaction log truncation. Is this a plausible scenario? Correct me if my line of thinking is off, as I'm not a SQL Server expert. If this is correct, how do I erase that transaction so that my transaction log is truncated as usual?

• Connecting to a WSE 3.0 Web Service From a WCF Client

  I'm having difficulty connecting to a 3rd party WSE 3.0 web service from a WCF client. I have implemented the custom binding class as indicated in this KB article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms734745.aspx The problem seems to have to do with the security assertion used by the web service - UsernameOverTransport. When I attempt to call a method, I get the following exception: System.InvalidOperationException: The 'WseHttpBinding'.'[namespace]' binding for the 'MyWebServiceSoap'.'[namespace]' contract is configured with an authentication mode that requires transport level integrity and confidentiality. However the transport cannot provide integrity and confidentiality.. It is expecting a username, password, and CN number. In the example code supplied to us by the vendor, these credentials are bundled in a Microsoft.Web.Services3.Security.Tokens.UsernameToken. Here's the example supplied by the vendor: MyWebServiceWse proxy = new MyWebServiceWse(); UsernameToken token = new UsernameToken("Username", "password", PasswordOption.SendPlainText); token.Id = "<supplied CN Number>"; proxy.SetClientCredential(token); proxy.SetPolicy(new Policy(new UsernameOverTransportAssertion(), new RequireActionHeaderAssertion())); MyObject mo = proxy.MyMethod(); This works fine from a 2.0 app w/ WSE 3.0 installed.
