  • I set up better-edit-in-place but still cannot edit in place in Rails

    - by Angela
    I installed the plugin better-edit-in-place (http://github.com/nakajima/better-edit-in-place) but I dont' seem to be able to make it work. When I use firebug, it is rendering the value to be edited correctly: <span rel="/emails/1" id="email_1_days" class="editable">7</span> And it is showing the full javascript which should work on class editable: var Editable = Class.create({ 5 initialize: function(element, options) { 6 this.element = $(element); 7 Object.extend(this, options); 8 9 // Set default values for options 10 this.editField = this.editField || {}; 11 this.editField.type = this.editField.type || 'input'; 12 this.onLoading = this.onLoading || Prototype.emptyFunction; 13 this.onComplete = this.onComplete || Prototype.emptyFunction; 14 15 this.field = this.parseField(); 16 this.value = this.element.innerHTML; 17 18 this.setupForm(); 19 this.setupBehaviors(); 20 }, 21 22 // In order to parse the field correctly, it's necessary that the element 23 // you want to edit in place for have an id of (model_name)_(id)_(field_name). 24 // For example, if you want to edit the "caption" field in a "Photo" model, 25 // your id should be something like "photo_#{@photo.id}_caption". 26 // If you want to edit the "comment_body" field in a "MemberBlogPost" model, 27 // it would be: "member_blog_post_#{@member_blog_post.id}_comment_body" 28 parseField: function() { 29 var matches = this.element.id.match(/(.*)_\d*_(.*)/); 30 this.modelName = matches[1]; 31 this.fieldName = matches[2]; 32 if (this.editField.foreignKey) this.fieldName += '_id'; 33 return this.modelName + '[' + this.fieldName + ']'; 34 }, But when I point my mouse at the element, no in-place-editing action!

  • Keyword to SQL search

    - by jdelator
Use Case When a user goes to my website, they will be confronted with a search box much like SO. They can search for results using plan text. ".net questions", "closed questions", ".net and java", etc.. The search will function a bit different that SO, in that it will try to as much as possible of the schema of the database rather than a straight fulltext search. So ".net questions" will only search for .net questions as opposed to .net answers (probably not applicable to SO case, just an example here), "closed questions" will return questions that are closed, ".net and java" questions will return questions that relate to .net and java and nothing else. Problem I'm not too familiar with the words but I basically want to do a keyword to SQL driven search. I know the schema of the database and I also can datamine the database. I want to know any current approaches there that existing out already before I try to implement this. I guess this question is for what is a good design for the stated problem. Proposed My proposed solution so far looks something like this Clean the input. Just remove any special characters Parse the input into chunks of data. Break an input of "c# java" into c# and java Also handle the special cases like "'c# java' questions" into 'c# java' and "questions". Build a tree out of the input Bind the data into metadata. So convert stuff like closed questions and relate it to the isclosed column of a table. Convert the tree into a sql query. Thoughts/suggestions/links?

  • Extract wrong data from a frame in C?

    - by ipkiss
I am writing a program that reads the data from the serial port on Linux. The data are sent by another device with the following frame format: |start | Command | Data | CRC | End | |0x02 | 0x41 | (0-127 octets) | | 0x03| ---------------------------------------------------- The Data field contains 127 octets as shown and octet 1,2 contains one type of data; octet 3,4 contains another data. I need to get these data. Because in C, one byte can only holds one character and in the start field of the frame, it is 0x02 which means STX which is 3 characters. So, in order to test my program, On the sender side, I construct an array as the frame formatted above like: char frame[254]; frame[0] = 0x02; // starting field frame[1] = 0x41; // command field which is character 'A' ..so on.. And, then On the receiver side, I take out the fields like: char result[254]; // read data read(result); printf("command = %c", result[1]); // get the command field of the frame // get other field's values the command field value (result[1]) is not character 'A'. I think, this because the first field value of the frame is 0x02 (STX) occupying 3 first places in the array frame and leading to the wrong results on the receiver side. How can I correct the issue or am I doing something wrong at the sender side? Thanks all. related questions: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2500567/parse-and-read-data-frame-in-c http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2531779/clear-data-at-serial-port-in-linux-in-c

  • SQL Server CLR stored procedures in data processing tasks - good or evil?

    - by Gart
In short - is it a good design solution to implement most of the business logic in CLR stored procedures? I have read much about them recently but I can't figure out when they should be used, what are the best practices, are they good enough or not. For example, my business application needs to parse a large fixed-length text file, extract some numbers from each line in the file, according to these numbers apply some complex business rules (involving regex matching, pattern matching against data from many tables in the database and such), and as a result of this calculation update records in the database. There is also a GUI for the user to select the file, view the results, etc. This application seems to be a good candidate to implement the classic 3-tier architecture: the Data Layer, the Logic Layer, and the GUI layer. The Data Layer would access the database The Logic Layer would run as a WCF service and implement the business rules, interacting with the Data Layer The GUI Layer would be a means of communication between the Logic Layer and the User. Now, thinking of this design, I can see that most of the business rules may be implemented in a SQL CLR and stored in SQL Server. I might store all my raw data in the database, run the processing there, and get the results. I see some advantages and disadvantages of this solution: Pros: The business logic runs close to the data, meaning less network traffic. Process all data at once, possibly utilizing parallelizm and optimal execution plan. Cons: Scattering of the business logic: some part is here, some part is there. Questionable design solution, may encounter unknown problems. Difficult to implement a progress indicator for the processing task. I would like to hear all your opinions about SQL CLR. Does anybody use it in production? Are there any problems with such design? Is it a good thing?

  • Xunit: Perform all 'Assert'ions in one test method?

    - by Jörg Battermann
Is it possible to tell xUnit.net to perform all e.g. Assert.True() in one test method? Basically in some of our use/testcases all assertions belong logically to one and the same 'scope' of tests and I have e.g. something like this: [Fact(DisplayName = "Tr-MissImpl")] public void MissingImplementationTest() { // parse export.xml file var exportXml = Libraries.Utilities.XML.GenericClassDeserializer.DeserializeXmlFile<Libraries.MedTrace.ExportXml>( ExportXmlFile); // compare parsed results with expected ones Assert.True(exportXml.ContainsRequirementKeyWithError("PERS_154163", "E0032A")); Assert.True(exportXml.ContainsRequirementKeyWithError("PERS_155763", "E0032A")); Assert.True(exportXml.ContainsRequirementKeyWithError("PERS_155931", "E0032A")); Assert.True(exportXml.ContainsRequirementKeyWithError("PERS_157145", "E0032A")); Assert.True(exportXml.ContainsRequirementKeyWithError("s_sw_ers_req_A", "E0032A")); Assert.True(exportXml.ContainsRequirementKeyWithError("s_sw_ers_req_C", "E0032A")); Assert.True(exportXml.ContainsRequirementKeyWithError("s_sw_ers_req_D", "E0032A")); } Now if e.g. the first Assert.True(...) fails, the other ones are not executed/checked. I'd rather not break these seven Assertions up into separate methods, since these really do belong together logically (the TC only is 'passed' entirely if all seven are passing all together).

  • How do I detect if there is already a similar document stored in Lucene index.

    - by Jenea
Hi. I need to exclude duplicates in my database. The problem is that duplicates are not considered exact match but rather similar documents. For this purpose I decided to use FuzzyQuery like follows: var fuzzyQuery = new global::Lucene.Net.Search.FuzzyQuery( new Term("text", queryText), 0.8f, 0); hits = _searcher.Search(query); The idea was to set the minimal similarity to 0.8 (that I think is high enough) so only similar documents will be found excluding those that are not sufficiently similar. To test this code I decided to see if it finds already existing document. To the variable queryText was assigned a value that is stored in the index. The code from above found nothing, in other words it doesn't detect even exact match. Index was build by this code: doc.Add(new global::Lucene.Net.Documents.Field( "text", text, global::Lucene.Net.Documents.Field.Store.YES, global::Lucene.Net.Documents.Field.Index.TOKENIZED, global::Lucene.Net.Documents.Field.TermVector.WITH_POSITIONS_OFFSETS)); I followed recomendations from bellow and the results are: TermQuery doesn't return any result. Query contructed with var _analyzer = new RussianAnalyzer(); var parser = new global::Lucene.Net.QueryParsers .QueryParser("text", _analyzer); var query = parser.Parse(queryText); var _searcher = new IndexSearcher (Settings.General.Default.LuceneIndexDirectoryPath); var hits = _searcher.Search(query); Returns several results with the maximum score the document that has exact match and other several documents that have similar content.

  • Looking for a smarter way to convert a Python list to a GList?

    - by Kingdom of Fish
I'm really new to C - Python interaction and am currently writing a small app in C which will read a file (using Python to parse it) and then using the parsed information to execute small Python snippets. At the moment I'm feeling very much like I'm reinventing wheels, for example this function: typedef gpointer (list_func)(PyObject *obj); GList *pylist_to_glist(list_func func, PyObject *pylist) { GList *result = NULL; if (func == NULL) { fprintf(stderr, "No function definied for coverting PyObject.\n"); } else if (PyList_Check(pylist)) { PyObject *pIter = PyObject_GetIter(pylist); PyObject *pItem; while ((pItem = PyIter_Next(pIter))) { gpointer obj = func(pItem); if (obj != NULL) result = g_list_append(result, obj); else fprintf(stderr, "Could not convert PyObject to C object.\n"); Py_DECREF(pItem); } Py_DECREF(pIter); } return result; } I would really like to do this in a easier/smarter way less prone to memory leaks and errors. All comments and suggestions are appreciated.

  • Databinding problem in dropdownlist box by generics in C#

    - by sakir-ali
    I want to implement stack in my program by Genericx. I have a textbox and button to add elements in stack, a dropdownlist box and a button to bind total stack in dropdownlist box. I have generic class and the code is below: [Serializable] public class myGenClass<T> { private T[] _elements; private int _pointer; public myGenClass(int size) { _elements = new T[size]; _pointer = 0; } public void Push(T item) { if (_pointer > _elements.Length - 1) { throw new Exception("Stack is full"); } _elements[_pointer] = item; _pointer++; } public T Pop() { _pointer--; if (_pointer < 0) { throw new Exception("Stack is empty"); } return _elements[_pointer]; } public T[] myBind() { T[] showall = new T[_pointer]; Array.Copy(_elements,showall, _pointer); T[] newarray = showall; Array.Reverse(showall); return showall; } } and my .cs page is below: public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { myGenClass<int> mystack = new myGenClass<int>(25); protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { mystack.Push(Int32.Parse(TextBox1.Text)); //DropDownList1.Items.Add(mystack.Pop().ToString()); TextBox1.Text = string.Empty; TextBox1.Focus(); } protected void Button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { //string[] db; //db = Array.ConvertAll<int, string>(mystack.myBind(), Convert.ToString); DropDownList1.DataSource = mystack.myBind(); DropDownList1.DataBind(); } } but when I bind the datasource property of dropdownlist box to generic type return array (i.e. myBind()), it shows empty... Please help..

  • Getting values from DataGridView back to XDocument (using LINQ-to-XML)

    - by Pretzel
Learning LINQ has been a lot of fun so far, but despite reading a couple books and a bunch of online resources on the topic, I still feel like a total n00b. Recently, I just learned that if my query returns an Anonymous type, the DataGridView I'm populating will be ReadOnly (because, apparently Anonymous types are ReadOnly.) Right now, I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to: Get a subset of data from an XML file into a DataGridView, Allow the user to edit said data, Stick the changed data back into the XML file. So far I have Steps 1 and 2 figured out: public class Container { public string Id { get; set; } public string Barcode { get; set; } public float Quantity { get; set; } } // For use with the Distinct() operator public class ContainerComparer : IEqualityComparer<Container> { public bool Equals(Container x, Container y) { return x.Id == y.Id; } public int GetHashCode(Container obj) { return obj.Id.GetHashCode(); } } var barcodes = (from src in xmldoc.Descendants("Container") where src.Descendants().Count() > 0 select new Container { Id = (string)src.Element("Id"), Barcode = (string)src.Element("Barcode"), Quantity = float.Parse((string)src.Element("Quantity").Attribute("value")) }).Distinct(new ContainerComparer()); dataGridView1.DataSource = barcodes.ToList(); This works great at getting the data I want from the XML into the DataGridView so that the user has a way to manipulate the values. Upon doing a Step-thru trace of my code, I'm finding that the changes to the values made in DataGridView are not bound to the XDocument object and as such, do not propagate back. How do we take care of Step 3? (getting the data back to the XML) Is it possible to Bind the XML directly to the DataGridView? Or do I have to write another LINQ statement to get the data from the DGV back to the XDocument? Suggstions?

  • Params order in Foo.new(params[:foo]), need one before the other (Rails)

    - by Jeena
I have a problem which I don't know how to fix. It has to do with the unsorted params hash. I have a object Reservation which has a virtual time= attribute and a virtual eating_session= attribute when I set the time= I also want to validate it via an external server request. I do that with help of the method times() which makes a lookup on a other server and saves all possible times in the @times variable. The problem now is that the method times() needs the eating_session attribute to find out which times are valid, but rails sometimes calls the times= method first, before there is any eating_session in the Reservation object when I just do @reservation = Reservation.new(params[:reservation]) class ReservationsController < ApplicationController def new @reservation = Reservation.new(params[:reservation]) # ... end end class Reservation < ActiveRecord::Base include SoapClient attr_accessor :date, :time belongs_to :eating_session def time=(time) @time = times.find { |t| t[:time] == time } end def times return @times if defined? @times @times = [] response = call_soap :search_availability { # eating_session is sometimes nil :session_id => eating_session.code, # <- HERE IS THE PROBLEM :dining_date => date } response[:result].each do |result| @times << { :time => "#{DateTime.parse(result[:time]).strftime("%H:%M")}", :correlation_data => result[:correlation_data] } end @times end end I have no idea how to fix this, any help is apriciated.

  • Year split in Quarters using basic jQuery

    - by Alexander Corotchi
Hi, I have a interesting question: I want to split the year into 4 quarters. What is the idea, A quarter can be different: The HTML Code: <div class="quarterBody"> <span>04-29-2010</span> <span>06-29-2010</span> <span>08-29-2010</span> </div> jQuery (javascript) is total wrong, I hope that w: $(document).ready(function(){ var quarter1 = to make interval (01-01-2010 to 03-31-2010); var quarter2 = to make interval (03-01-2010 to 06-31-2010); var quarter3 = to make interval (06-01-2010 to 09-31-2010); var quarter4 = to make interval (09-01-2010 to 12-31-2010); ... $(".quarterBody span").each(function(){ var date = Date.parse($(this).text()); //to apply some magic code $(this).addClass(quarterNumber); }); }); OUTPUT: <div class="quarterBody"> <span class="Quarter1">02-29-2010</span> <span class="Quarter2">04-29-2010</span> <span class="Quarter3">08-29-2010</span> ... </div> I know right now it is a stupid way, but I hope that somebody can help me, or suggest an idea how to do that in a better way!! • Parsing Line Breaks in PHP/JavaScript

    - by Matt G
I have a text area in my PHP application where users can enter notes in a project. Sometimes this is displayed on the page via PHP and sometimes it is displayed via javascript. The problem is, if the note is across multiple lines (i.e. the user presses enter while entering notes in the text area), it causes the JS to fail. It's fine when it's being done by the PHP. The line of code in question is: var editnotes='<textarea class="desc_text" style="width:20em;" id="notes_editor"><?php print $notes; ?></textarea>'; So, if the note is over multiple lines, the PHP builds the pager as: var editnotes='<textarea class="desc_text" style="width:20em;" id="notes_editor">This is a test note over multiple lines </textarea>'; And this obviously causes problems for the js. So my question is, what can I do to prevent this? As the code is being built by PHP before it even gets to the browser, I'm thinking that the best approach may be to parse it in the PHP so that the output is something more like this: var editnotes='<textarea class="desc_text" style="width:20em;" id="notes_editor">This is<br/>a test note<br/>over multiple lines<br/></textarea>'; Will this work? How would I do it? Thanks

  • Getting Visual Studio macros in console app

    - by Paul Steckler
In a Visual Studio extension, you can get the default include paths for all projects with C# code like: String dirs = dte2.get_Properties("Projects", "VCDirectories"); where dte2 is the Visual Studio application object. Usually, those directories contain macros like $(INCLUDE). You can expand those macros by looking at dte2.Solution.Projects, finding the relevant project in that collection; from the project, look at project.Configurations, find the relevant configuration, and call its Evaluate method. In VS2005/VS2008, there's a .vssettings file that contains the VCDirectories. In VS2010, there's a property sheet with the same information. A console application can just parse those files -- great. But how can you expand the macros? As a first step, I tried instantiating a VCProjectEngine object in a console app, but that just resulted in a COM failure. So I don't know how to instantiate a VCProject object in order to follow the same strategy I used in a VS extension. Where are the macro bindings stored?

  • ASP.Net User Control Template Instantiation

Hi, I created a user control that has a template container. <cc:SearchResultItem ID="SearchResultItem1" Customer='<%# ((Customer)(((RepeaterItem)Container).DataItem)) %>' runat="server"> <NameTemplate> <%# Container.Name %> </NameTemplate> </cc:SearchResultItem> This is control is placed in a repeater which lists some customers. The customer is than bound to the user control. When the name template is instantiated in the container, the customer object is not yet available, but I need to access its name because it needs to get parsed before. protected void Page_Init(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (nameTemplate != null ) { // customer is null here, it is avaiable only after Page_Init... NameContainer container = new NameContainer(customer.Id, Parse(customer.Name)); nameTemplate.InstantiateIn(container); placeHolder.Controls.Add(container); } } Question: How can I access properties set for the user control BEFORE the template container is instantiated? Thanks in advance!

  • how to fix: ctags null expansion of name pattern "\1"

    - by bua
Hi, As the title points I have problem with ctags when trying to parse user-defined language. Basically I've followed those instructions. The quickest and easiest way to do this is by defining a new language using the program options. In order to have Swine support available every time I start ctags, I will place the following lines into the file $HOME/.ctags, which is read in every time ctags starts: --langdef=swine --langmap=swine:.swn --regex-swine=/^def[ \t]*([a-zA-Z0-9_]+)/\1/d,definition/ The first line defines the new language, the second maps a file extension to it, and the third defines a regular expression to identify a language definition and generate a tag file entry for it. I've tried different flags: b,e for regex. My definition of tag is: --regex-q=/^[ \t]*[^[:space:]]*[:space:]*:[:space:]*{/\l/f,function/b When I replace \1 with anything else (ascii caracter set ), It works. the output is: (--regex-q=/^[ \t]*[^[:space:]]*[:space:]*:[:space:]*{/my function name/f,function/b) !_TAG_FILE_FORMAT 2 /extended format; --format=1 will not append ;" to lines/ !_TAG_FILE_SORTED 1 /0=unsorted, 1=sorted, 2=foldcase/ !_TAG_PROGRAM_AUTHOR Darren Hiebert /[email protected]/ !_TAG_PROGRAM_NAME Exuberant Ctags // !_TAG_PROGRAM_URL http://ctags.sourceforge.net /official site/ !_TAG_PROGRAM_VERSION 5.8 // my function name file.q /^.ras.getLocation:{[u]$/;" f my function name file.q /^.a.getResource:{[u; pass]$/;" f my function name file.q /^.a.init:{$/;" f my function name file.q /^.a.kill:{[u; force]$/;" f my function name file.q /^.asdf.status:{[what; u]$/;" f my function name file.q /^.pc:{$/;" f Why \1 doesn't work? • NSXMLParser & memory leaks

    - by HBR
Hi, I am parsing an XML file using a custom class that instanciates & uses NSXMLParser. On the first call everything is fine but on the second, third and later calls Instruments show tens of memory leaks on certain lines inside didEndElement, didEndElement and foundCharacters functions. I googled it and found some people having this issue, but I didn't find anything that could really help me. My Parser class looks like this : Parser.h @interface XMLParser : NSObject { NSMutableArray *data; NSMutableString *currentValue; NSArray *xml; NSMutableArray *videos; NSMutableArray *photos; NSXMLParser *parser; NSURLConnection *feedConnection; NSMutableData *downloadedData; Content *content; Video *video; BOOL nowPhoto; BOOL nowVideo; BOOL finished; BOOL webTV; } -(void)parseXML:(NSURL*)xmlURL; -(int)getCount; -(NSArray*)getData; //- (void)handleError:(NSError *)error; //@property(nonatomic, retain) NSMutableString *currentValue; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSURLConnection *feedConnection; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSMutableData *downloadedData; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSArray *xml; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSXMLParser *parser; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *data; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *photos; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *videos; [feed release]; // Parse feed NSString *url = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"MyXMLURL"]; [[self rssParser] parseXML:[NSURL URLWithString:url]]; Now the problem is that after the first (which has zero leaks), instruments shows leaks in too many parts like this one (they are too much to enumerate them all, but all the calls look the same, I made the leaking line bold) : in didEndElement : if ([elementName isEqualToString:@"link"]) { // THIS LINE IS LEAKING => INSTRUMENTS SAYS IT IS A NSCFString LEAK [self content] setUrl:[NSURL URLWithString:cleanValue]]; [[self content] setLink: cleanValue]; } Any idea how to fix this pealse ? Could this be the same problem as the one mentioned (as an apple bug) by Lee Amtrong here :http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1598928/nsxmlparser-leaking

  • Creating an AJAX Searchable Database.

    - by Austin
Currently I am using MySQLi to parse a CSV file into a Database, that step has been accomplished. However, My next step would be to make this Database searchable and automatically updated via jQuery.ajax(). Some people suggest that I print out the Database in another page and access it externally. I'm quite new to jquery + ajax so if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. I understand that the documentation on ajax should be enough to tell me what I'm looking for but it appears to talk only about retrieving data from an external file, what about from a mysql database? The code so far stands: <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4/jquery.min.js"></script> </head> <body> <input type="text" id="search" name="search" /> <input type="submit" value="submit"> <?php show_source(__FILE__); error_reporting(E_ALL);ini_set('display_errors', '1'); $category = NULL; $mc = new Memcache; $mc->addServer('localhost','11211'); $sql = new mysqli('localhost', 'user', 'pword', 'db'); $cache = $mc->get("updated_DB"); $query = 'SELECT cat, name, web,kw FROM infoDB WHERE cat LIKE ? OR name LIKE ? OR web LIKE ? OR kw LIKE ?'; $results = $sql->prepare($query); $results->bind_param('ssss', $query, $query, $query, $query); $results->execute(); $results->store_result(); ?> </body> </html>

  • Parsing large delimited files with dynamic number of columns

    - by annelie
Hi, What would be the best approach to parse a delimited file when the columns are unknown before parsing the file? The file format is Rightmove v3 (.blm), the structure looks like this: #HEADER# Version : 3 EOF : '^' EOR : '~' #DEFINITION# AGENT_REF^ADDRESS_1^POSTCODE1^MEDIA_IMAGE_00~ // can be any number of columns #DATA# agent1^the address^the postcode^an image~ agent2^the address^the postcode^^~ // the records have to have the same number of columns as specified in the definition, however they can be empty etc #END# The files can potentially be very large, the example file I have is 40Mb but they could be several hundred megabytes. Below is the code I had started on before I realised the columns were dynamic, I'm opening a filestream as I read that was the best way to handle large files. I'm not sure my idea of putting every record in a list then processing is any good though, don't know if that will work with such large files. List<string> recordList = new List<string>(); try { using (FileStream fs = new FileStream(path, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)) { StreamReader file = new StreamReader(fs); string line; while ((line = file.ReadLine()) != null) { string[] records = line.Split('~'); foreach (string item in records) { if (item != String.Empty) { recordList.Add(item); } } } } } catch (FileNotFoundException ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.Message); } foreach (string r in recordList) { Property property = new Property(); string[] fields = r.Split('^'); // can't do this as I don't know which field is the post code property.PostCode = fields[2]; // etc propertyList.Add(property); } Any ideas of how to do this better? It's C# 3.0 and .Net 3.5 if that helps. Thanks, Annelie

  • asp.Net 2005 "Could not load type"

    - by Melody Friedenthal
Although I have seen dozens of forum questions relating to "Could not load type", none of the advice in them seemed to apply to my situation. I wrote a new web application using aspx.net VB 2005. It is tiny, with just 2 pages, 1 of which has no code-behind. It runs aok in the IDE but when I installed it on my pc (and also when installed on the production server), and tried to run it this error came up: Parser Error Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately. Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'EMTTrainingDatabase.pageMain'. Source Error: Line 1: <%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeBehind="pageMain.aspx.vb" Inherits="EMTTrainingDatabase.pageMain" %> Line 2: Line 3: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> Source File: /EMTTrainingDatabase/pageMain.aspx Line: 1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3603; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3082 I checked the web site properties in IIS and the correct ASP.net version is specified: 2.0.50727. I checked the virtual path and it looks correct too: /EMTTrainingDatabase pageMain source code header looks like: <%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeBehind="pageMain.aspx.vb" Inherits="EMTTrainingDatabase.pageMain" %> Some posters suggest that the bin is in the wrong folder or the bin doesn't contain the rigt contents. I don't have enough knowledge to evaulate this. Can someone help? Thank you.

  • jQuery ajax success chaining Internet Explorer Issues

    - by Nickd
I have a jQuery ajax function that retrieves JSON data. In the success block I call another function to parse the data and update the page. At the end of this parsing/updating function a different ajax call is made. This works perfectly in all browsers except Internet Explorer (7 and 8). The problem is Internet explorer thinks the script is taking too long to process because the success block from the first ajax call doesn't complete until the 2nd ajax call finishes. I get the message: "Stop running this script? A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive." My jQuery code: $("#id_select").bind("change", function(e){ $.ajax({ url: "/retrieve_data.js", data: {id:$(e.target).children(":selected").attr("value")}, type: "get", dataType:"json", success: function(data, status, form){ processData(data); }, error: function(response, status){ alert(response.responseText); } }); }) Any suggestions on how to get IE to stop timing out or to accomplish this task without rewriting all my jQuery functions would be appreciated.

  • Why is Swing Parser's handleText not handling nested tags?

    - by Jim P
I need to transform some HTML text that has nested tags to decorate 'matches' with a css attribute to highlight it (like firefox search). I can't just do a simple replace (think if user searched for "img" for example), so I'm trying to just do the replace within the body text (not on tag attributes). I have a pretty straightforward HTML parser that I think should do this: final Pattern pat = Pattern.compile(srch, Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE); Matcher m = pat.matcher(output); if (m.find()) { final StringBuffer ret = new StringBuffer(output.length()+100); lastPos=0; try { new ParserDelegator().parse(new StringReader(output.toString()), new HTMLEditorKit.ParserCallback () { public void handleText(char[] data, int pos) { ret.append(output.subSequence(lastPos, pos)); Matcher m = pat.matcher(new String(data)); ret.append(m.replaceAll("<span class=\"search\">$0</span>")); lastPos=pos+data.length; } }, false); ret.append(output.subSequence(lastPos, output.length())); return ret; } catch (Exception e) { return output; } } return output; My problem is, when I debug this, the handleText is getting called with text that includes tags! It's like it's only going one level deep. Anyone know why? Is there some simple thing I need to do to HTMLParser (haven't used it much) to enable 'proper' behavior of nested tags? PS - I figured it out myself - see answer below. Short answer is, it works fine if you pass it HTML, not pre-escaped HTML. Doh! Hope this helps someone else. <span>example with <a href="#">nested</a> <p>more nesting</p> </span> <!-- all this gets thrown together -->
