• VS 2008 designer and usercontrol.

  Hello, I have created a custom data grid control. I dragged it on windows form and set its properties like column and all & ran the project. It built successfully and I am able to view the grid control on the form. Now if i try to view that form in designer, I am getting following error.. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Instances of this error (1) 1. • Help me find an appropriate ruby/python parser generator

  The first parser generator I've worked with was Parse::RecDescent, and the guides/tutorials available for it were great, but the most useful feature it has was it's debugging tools, specifically the tracing capabilities ( activated by setting $RD_TRACE to 1 ). I am looking for a parser generator that can help you debug it's rules. The thing is, it has to be written in python or in ruby, and have a verbose mode/trace mode or very helpful debugging techniques. Does anyone know such a parser generator ? EDIT: when I said debugging, I wasn't referring to debugging python or ruby. I was referring to debugging the parser generator, see what it's doing at every step, see every char it's reading, rules it's trying to match. Hope you get the point. BOUNTY EDIT: to win the bounty, please show a parser generator framework, and illustrate some of it's debugging features. I repeat, I'm not interested in pdb, but in parser's debugging framework. Also, please don't mention treetop. I'm not interested in it.

I tried /Regular price.+(\d[^\s]+)\sUSD/is but it's not working, it's returning '00'. Obviously I'm a newbie at regex and I'm hoping to get by without picking up a book. And I HAVE to use regex to parse this HTML because that particular site was designed by someone who doesn't know about classes or IDs.

  Using TDom, I would like to cycle through a list of objects in the following format: <object> <type>Hardware</type> <name>System Name</name> <description>Basic Description of System.</description> <attributes> <vendor>Dell</vendor> <contract>MM/DD/YY</contract> <supportExpiration>MM/DD/YY</supportExpiration> <location>Building 123</location> <serial>xxx-xxx-xxxx</serial> <mac>some-mac-address</mac> </attributes> </object> <object> <type>Software</type> <name>Second Object</name> ... Then I use TDom to make a list of objects: set dom [dom parse $xml] set doc [$dom documentElement] set nodeList [$doc selectNodes /systems/object] So far I've done this to (theoretically) select every "Object" node from the list. How can I loop through them? Is it just: foreach node $nodeList { For each object, I need to retrieve the association of each attribute. From the example, I need to remember that the "name" is "System Name", "vendor" is "Dell", etc. I'm new to TCL but in other languages I would use an object or an associative list to store these. Is this possible? Can you show me an example of the syntax to select an attribute in this manner?

• Filtering Wikipedia's XML dump: error on some accents

  I'm trying to index Wikpedia dumps. My SAX parser make Article objects for the XML with only the fields I care about, then send it to my ArticleSink, which produces Lucene Documents. I want to filter special/meta pages like those prefixed with Category: or Wikipedia:, so I made an array of those prefixes and test the title of each page against this array in my ArticleSink, using article.getTitle.startsWith(prefix). In English, everything works fine, I get a Lucene index with all the pages except for the matching prefixes. In French, the prefixes with no accent also work (i.e. filter the corresponding pages), some of the accented prefixes don't work at all (like Catégorie:), and some work most of the time but fail on some pages (like Wikipédia:) but I cannot see any difference between the corresponding lines (in less). I can't really inspect all the differences in the file because of its size (5 GB), but it looks like a correct UTF-8 XML. If I take a portion of the file using grep or head, the accents are correct (even on the incriminated pages, the <title>Catégorie:something</title> is correctly displayed by grep). On the other hand, when I rectreate a wiki XML by tail/head-cutting the original file, the same page (here Catégorie:Rock par ville) gets filtered in the small file, not in the original… Any idea ? • Validating User Input? C#

  Hi, in an assignment, I have designed a input validation loop in C#, and I would like it to be able to check for the correct input format. I'm not for sure, but I think my designed loop is not checking the type of input, just what char is entered. I know I could use a try-catch block, but shouldn't you only use exceptions for exceptional situations? This is not an exceptional situation, because I expect that the user would enter an incorrect value. Input validation is not part of my assignment, so the loop is in a homework assignment, but is not part of the homework assignment. Question: Is there a way I could redesign this loop so that it checks for valid input type as well?   Hi.I'm trying to write a web page in .NET, using C# and NHibernate 2.1.   So I am trying to access a jquery soundmanager variable from one script (wpaudio.js – from the wp-audio plugin) inside of another (init.js – my own javascript). I am creating an alternate pause/play button higher up on the page and need to resume the current soundID, which is contained as part of a class name in the DOM. Alternately, I think a regular expression that could get the class name of the current play button and either parse the string up to the "_play" or use a trim function to get rid of "_play"– but I'm not sure how to do this. This question refers to plugin development for the IntelliJ IDEA IDE, specifically targeting java development: Is there any API to get the list of .class files for given source file? I'm trying to write a plugin that creates a binary patch jar based on a changelist. I've managed to get the changelist and, from it, a list of source files (VirtualFile). Now I'm trying to get the compiled class files for these source files (I don't mind preforming a "make" or relying on the previous compile output). I've played a bit with ProjectFileIndex but could only find the classes root. I'd hate to do a "dumb" path-based search because inner classes (and inner anonymous classes) would make it difficult to get correctly. Is there such an API? Or am I doomed to parse the paths? I love this book!", and I want to parse the text and extract only certain phrases, like "War & Peace by Leo Tolstoy". Is this a matter of using Regex and lifting the text between "#books" to "."? What if there's no structure to the message, like: "This is a Twitter message #books War & Peace by Leo Tolstoy I love this book!" or "This is a Twitter message. I love the book War & Peace by Leo Tolstoy #books" How can I reliably pull the phrase "War & Peace by Leo Tolstoy" without knowing the phrase ex ante. Are there any gems, methods, etc. that can help me do this? At the very least, what would you call what I'm trying to do? It will help me search for a solution on Google. I've tried a few searches on "parsing" with no luck.

• UITableView and UITableCellView, how does this work with core plot ?

  Hello, I'm very new to iPhone programming, and I'm currently following tutos to understand the whole thing. I've been able to do what I needed (retrive data from a JSON http server, parse them with YAJL and plot the data in core plot). I have done this in a "simple" view where I have added a UILayerHostingView as requested by core-plot. I am now trying to follow this tuto: http://blogs.remobjects.com/blogs/mh/2010/01/26/p973 but I am missing the first part regarding the views... My understanding is that I need to create a view with a UITableView first. Then add a UITableCellView to make the first cell be able to contain the graph ? Is this right ? Where does the method "(id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewCellStyle)style" come from ? For my needs, only the first cell needs to contain a graph, I will put some other info in the other cells. As for now, I have created a new GraphListViewController, in the corresponding view I have added a listview but I do not see any auto generated methods regading cell customisation ? Do I need to implements DataSource in this controller and manually add some customisation methods ? Do I need to add a UITagbleViewCell to this UITableViewTable within IB ?   I'm trying to create an NSPredicate to find 'projects' that contain 'sessions' within a certain date range. I tried this at first: [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ANY sessions.date BETWEEN {$STARTDATE, $ENDDATE}"]; But I get an exception: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'to-many key not allowed here' It seems BETWEEN does not work with ANY in this way. I'm also limited in use of () and AND clauses meaning I can't use something like: [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ANY (sessions.date > $STARTDATE && sessions.date < $ENDDATE)"]; If I try that I get a parse error. How can I do this? Thanks UPDATE: Note that this: [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ANY sessions.date > $STARTDATE && ANY sessions.date < $ENDDATE"]; Is incorrect because it returns a project where there is a session greater than the start date and another session less than the end date but no session in between.

• Embedded SQL in OO languages like Java

  One of the things that annoys me working with SQL in OO languages is having to define SQL statements in strings. When I used to work on IBM mainframes, the languages used an SQL preprocessor to parse SQL statements out of the native code, so the statements could be written in cleartext SQL without the obfuscation of strings, for instance in Cobol there is a EXEC SQL .... END-EXEC syntax construct that allows pure SQL statements to be embedded in the Cobol code. <pure cobol code, including assignment of value to local variable HOSTVARIABLE> EXEC SQL SELECT COL_A, COL_B, COL_C INTO :COLA, :COLB, :COLC FROM TAB_A WHERE COL_D = :HOSTVARIABLE END_EXEC <more cobol code, variables COLA, COLB, COLC have been set> ...this makes the SQL statement really easy to read & check for errors. Between the EXEC SQL .... END-EXEC tokens there are no constraints on indentation, linebreaking etc., so you can format the SQL statement according to taste. Note that this example is for a single-row select, when a multiple-row resultset is expected, the coding is different (but still v. easy to read). So, taking Java as an example What made the "old COBOL" approach undesirable ? Not only SQL, but system calls could be made much more readable with that approach. Let's call it the embedded foreign language preprocessor approach. Would an embedded foreign language preprocessor for SQL be useful to implement ? Would you see a benefit in being able to write native SQL statements inside java code ? Edit I'm really asking if you think SQL in OO languages is a throwback, and if not then what could be done to make it better.

• Setting Parameters from another Parameter In SSRS

  I was able to get this working is SSRS 2008, but do to the fact that my company only has 2005 servers I need to downgrade the report to 2005. The idea is for a given person name there are two key fields EntityType and EntityId So I have a parameter from a dataset where the Label is the Name and the value is EntityType_EntityId I use the split function to take the left and right sides of from _ In 2008, I set the query parameters of the dataset to the split function and it works In 2005, I set the Default Value of each Report Parameters Now when I run the report and put textboxes showing the value of the parameters, the values are shown correctly but the query does not run. I am guessing that this is a lifecycle issue being Get Name Parameter Run Report THEN Set Parameters = Split of Name But the problem with that is the second time I run the report I should get result and I do not. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong. I guess I can pass in the underscore delimted string to the stored procedure and parse it there, but my question is can this be done in the report? Reason being other callers will pass in the parameters as two seperate values.
