  • Comments not Getting Inserted into MySQL Table

    - by John
    Hello, I'm trying to use the code below for a comment system. It doesn't work. The info I'm trying to insert into the MySQL table "comment" isn't getting put there. Any idea(s) why it is not working? Thanks in advance, John On comments.php: echo '<form action="http://www...com/sandbox/comments/comments2.php" method="post"> <input type="hidden" value="'.$_SESSION['loginid'].'" name="uid"> <input type="hidden" value="'.$submissionid.'" name="submissionid"> <label class="addacomment" for="title">Add a comment:</label> <input class="commentsubfield" name="comment" type="title" id="comment" maxlength="1000"> <div class="commentsubbutton"><input name="submit" type="submit" value="Submit"></div> </form> '; On comments2.php: $comment = $_POST['comment']; $uid = $_POST['uid']; $subid = $_POST['submissionid']; mysql_query("INSERT INTO comment VALUES (NULL, '$uid', '$subid', '$comment', NULL, NULL)");

  • How to get the coordinate of Gridlayout

    - by Jessy
    Hi, I set my JPanel to GridLayout (6,6), with dimension (600,600) Each cell of the grid will display one pictures with different widths and heights. The picture first add to a JLabel, and the JLabel then added to the cells. How can retrieved the coordinate of the pictures in the cells and not the coordinate of cells? So far the out give these coordinate which equal height and width even on screen the pictures showed in different sizes. e.g. java.awt.Rectangle[x=100,y=100,width=100,height=100] java.awt.Rectangle[x=200,y=100,width=100,height=100] java.awt.Rectangle[x=300,y=100,width=100,height=100] The reason why I used GridLayout instead of gridBagLayout is that, I want each pictures to have boundary. If I use GridBagLayout, the grid will expand according to the picture size. I want grid size to be in fix size. JPanel pDraw = new JPanel(new GridLayout(6,6)); pDraw.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(600,600)); for (int i =0; i<(6*6); i++) { //get random number for height and width of the image int x = rand.nextInt(40)+(50); int y = rand.nextInt(40)+(50); ImageIcon icon = createImageIcon("bird.jpg"); //rescale the image according to the size selected Image img = icon.getImage().getScaledInstance(x,y,img.SCALE_SMOOTH); icon.setImage(img ); JLabel label = new JLabel(icon); pDraw.add(label); } for(Component component:components) { //retrieve the coordinate System.out.println(component.getBounds()); }

  • Form is submitting when the page loads

    - by RailAddict
    I have a really simple Rails app. Basically an article with comments. I want the article page to show the article, comments underneath and then a textbox to write a comment and a submit button to submit it. I got it all working except for one (big) problem. When the page loads.. example.com/article/1 a blank comment is submitted to the database. I fixed that by including "validates_presence_of :body" in the Comment model. But that results in the following image when the page loads: This is my code by the way: def show @place = Article.find(params[:id]) @comment = Article.find(params[:id]).comments.create(params[:comment]) respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @article } end end and <% form_for([@article, @comment]) do |f| %> <p> <%= f.label :commenter %><br /> <%= f.text_field :commenter %> </p> <p> <%= f.label :body %><br /> <%= f.text_area :body %> </p> <p> <%= f.submit "Create" %> </p> <% end %>

  • Create combined client side and server side validation in Symfony2

    - by ausi
    I think it would be very useful to create client side form validation up on the symfony2 Form and Validator components. The best way to do this would be to pass the validation constraints to the form view. With that information it would be possible to make a template that renders a form field to something like this: <div> <label for="form_email">E-Mail</label> <input id="form_email" type="text" name="form[email]" value="" data-validation-constraints='["NotBlank":{},"MinLength":{"limit":6}]' /> </div> The JavaScript part then would be to find all <input> elements that have the data-validation-constraints attribute and create the correct validation for them. To pass the validation constraints to the form view i thought the best way would be to create a form type extension. That's the point of my Question: Is this the correct way? And how is this possible? At the Moment my form type extension looks like this: use Symfony\Component\Form\FormInterface; use Symfony\Component\Form\FormView; use Symfony\Component\Form\FormBuilder; class FieldTypeExtension extends \Symfony\Component\Form\AbstractTypeExtension{ public function getExtendedType(){ return 'field'; } public function buildView(FormView $view, FormInterface $form) { // at this point i didn't find a way to get the // validation constraints out of the $form // the `getAllValidationConstraints` here is just an example $view->set('validation_constraints', $form->getAllValidationConstraints()); } } How can i get all validation constraints applied to one form field out of the FormInterface object?

  • jquery ui 1.7 autocomplete show dialog on select

    - by Daniel S
    Hello, I am using an autocomplete widget, and would like a dialog to show when an item is selected. The dialog does show up, but I want a field in the dialog to receive focus when it opens. Here is what I have tried so far: //HTML <form action="#"> <p><input id="busca" /></p> </form> <div id="agregar" title="Agregar Parte"> <label for="cantidad">Cantidad:</label> <input name="cantidad" id="cantidad" size="3" /> </div> //jquery $(function(){ $("#agregar").dialog({ autoOpen: false, //also tried open: function(){$("#cantidad").focus()} } ); //.bind("dialogfocus", ... ) does not work either $("#agregar").bind("focus", function(){ $("#cantidad").focus(); }); $("#busca").autocomplete({ source: "/carrito/autocomplete/", minLength: 1, select: function(e, ui) { $("#agregar").dialog("open"); } }); }); I think autoselect's default behavior is still doing something as the autoselect widget receives focus after the dialog is shown. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Reading component parameters and setting defaults

    - by donut
    I'm pulling my hair on this because it should be simple, but can't get it to do the right thing. What's the best practice way of doing the following I've created a custom component that extends <s:Label> so now the Label has additional properties color2 color3 value which can be called like this and are used in the skin. <s:CustomLabel text="Some text" color2="0x939202" color3="0x999999" value="4.5" /> If I don't supply these parameters, I'd like some defaults to be set. So far I've had some success, but it doesn't work 100% of the time, which leads me to think that I'm not following best practices when setting those defaults. I do it now like this: [Bindable] private var myColor2:uint = 0x000000; [Bindable] private var myColor3:uint = 0x000000; [Bindable] private var myValue:Number = 10.0; then in the init function, I do a variation of this to set the default myValue = hostComponent.value; myValue = (hostComponent.value) ? hostComponent.value : 4.5; Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, depending on the type of variable I'm trying to set. I eventually decided to read them as Strings then convert them to the desired type, but it seems that this also works half the time.

  • add new option to dropdownlist after jquery dialog and post

    - by RememberME
    I have a form to enter subcontracts. On this form I have a dropdownlist of all companies in the system. Next to it is a button "Create Company". This button opens a jquery dialog which allows the user to create a new company. Once the dialog closes, the new company needs to be added to the dropdownlist and selected. If I refresh, it's there, but I need to do it without refreshing the form b/c I don't want the user to loose everything that they've entered into the other fields. I'm not sure how to do this b/c I don't have the guid of the new company. My jquery dialog: $('#popupCreateCompany').dialog( { autoOpen: false, modal: true, buttons: { 'Add': function() { var dialog = $(this); var form = dialog.find('input:text, select'); $.post('/company/create', $(form).serialize(), function() { dialog.dialog('close'); }) }, 'Cancel': function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } } }); $("#create-company").click(function() { $('#popupCreateCompany').dialog('open'); }); Company field: <label for="company">Company:</label> <%= Html.DropDownList("company", Model.SelectCompanies, "** Select Company **") %> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("Company", "*") %> <button type="button" id="create-company" >Create Company</button>

  • c - strncpy issue

    - by Joe
    Hi there, I am getting segmentation fault when using strncpy and (pointer-to-struct)-(member) notation: I have simplified my code. I initialise a struct and set all of it's tokens to an empty string. Then a declare a pointer to a struct and assign the address of the struct to it. I pass the pointer to a function. I can print out the contents of the struct at the beginning of the function, but if I try to use the tp - mnemonic in a strncpy function, I get seg fault. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? typedef struct tok { char* label; char* mnem; char* operand; }Tokens; Tokens* tokenise(Tokens* tp, char* line) { // This prints fine printf("Print this - %s\n", tp -> mnem); // This function gives me segmentation fault strncpy(tp -> mnem, line, 4); return tp; } int main() { char* line = "This is a line"; Tokens tokens; tokens.label = ""; tokens.mnem = "load"; tokens.operand = ""; Tokens* tp = &tokens; tp = tokenise(tp, line); return 0; } I have used printf statements to confirm that the code definitely stops executing at the strncpy function. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong? Many thanks Joe

  • Django Form Preview

    - by Mark Kecko
    I'm trying to use django's FormPreview and I can't get it to work properly. Here's my code: forms.py class MyForm(forms.ModelForm): status = forms.TypedChoiceField( coerce=int, choices=LIST_STATUS, label="type", widget=forms.RadioSelect ) description = forms.CharField(widget = forms.Textarea) stage = forms.CharField() def __init__(self, useradd=None, *args, **kwargs): super(MyForm, self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) self.fields['firm'].label = "Firm" class Meta: model = MyModel fields = ['status', 'description', 'stage'] class MyFormPreview(FormPreview): form_template = 'templates/post.html' preview_template = 'templates/review.html' def process_preview(self, request, cleaned_data): print "processed" def done(self, request, cleaned_data): print "done" # Do something with the cleaned_data, then redirect # to a "success" page. return HttpResponseRedirect('/') urls.py (r'^post/$', MyFormPreview(MyForm)), post.html <form id = "post_ad" action = "" method = "POST" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <table> {{form.as_table}} </table> <input type="submit" name="save" value="Post" /> </form> When I go to /post/ I get the correct form and I fill it out. When I submit the form it goes right back to /post/ but but there are no errors (I've tried displaying {{errors}}) and the form is empty. None of my print statements execute. I'm not sure what I'm missing. Can anyone help me out? I can't find any documentation besides what's on the django site. Also, what's the "preview" variable called that I should use in my preview.html template? {{preview}} or do I just do {{form}} again? -- Answered below. I tried adding 'django.contrib.formtools' to my installed_apps in settings and I tried using the code from the default form templates from django.contrib as suggested below. Still, when I submit the form I go right back to the post template, none of my print statements execute :(

Am I using FindControl("") incorrectly?

  • Populating form fields with comma seperated strings in unordered list onclick with jQuery/Javascript

    - by RyanP13
    Hi, I have an address lookup system which returns addresses in an unordered list like so: <p>Please select your address from the list below</p> <div id="selectAddress"> <ul> <li>HNO 412,addressLine2,addressLine8</li> <li>HNO 413,addressLine2,addressLine8</li> <li>HNO 414,addressLine2,addressLine8</li> </ul> </div> When someone clicks on an li containing the address i use the folloqing jQuery to split it and populate the following form fields. var $customerAddress = $("form#detailsForm input[name*='customerAddress']"); $("div#selectAddress ul li").click(function(){ $(this).removeClass("addressHover"); $("li.addressClick").removeClass("addressClick"); $(this).addClass("addressClick"); var $splitAddress = $(this).text().split(","); $($customerAddress).closest("tr").removeClass("hide"); $($customerAddress).each(function(){ var $inputCount = $(this).index($customerAddress); $(this).val($splitAddress[$inputCount]); }); $.cookies.set('cpqbAddressInputs', 'visible'); }); Form fields: <tr> <th> <label for="customerAddressLine1">Address&nbsp;*</label> </th> <td colspan="3"> <input type="text" name="customerAddressLine1" maxlength="40" value="" id="customerAddressLine1" class="text" /> </td> However it only seems to populate the first line of the address and not lines two and three. I could easily do this manually but i wanted to abstract it so that it could be expanded to cater for any amounts of address lines.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • UILabel applying CGAffineTransformMakeRotation causing mysterious crash

    - by quantumpotato
    In -(id)initWithNibName:(NSString *)nibNameOrNil bundle:(NSBundle *)nibBundleOrNil parentController:(GameViewController *)myGameController{ Have a series of transforming labels like so: deg90 = 1.570796326794897; //....transforms background.center = CGPointMake(160,230); background.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(deg90); BetLabel.text = @"test"; BetLabel.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(deg90); That last line is crashing me with: 2010-04-13 21:04:47.858 Game[1204:207] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (1) beyond bounds (1)' 2010-04-13 21:04:47.893 Game[1204:207] Stack: ( 864992541, 859229716, (lots of numbers) But if I comment it out, I get the text changing fine. Uh oh, just did a test.. turns out the other transforms were on UIImageViews. Apparently rotating a label in this xib is causing the crash. But in another file the transforms are working fine: newprofileentry.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(1.570796326794897); playerb0.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(1.570796326794897); playerb1.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(1.570796326794897); Tried substituting deg90 with the full float value, still the same crash. Tried cleaning cache, restarting IB and Xcode, cleaning all targets. Program has been running fine until I just added these labels. Tried deleting the label, readding and reconnecting the Outlet, too. Thanks for reading, hope someone has an idea about this. Cheers!

  • Asp.net PopupControlExtender inside UpdatePabel

    - by user296422
    Hi, So i use PopupControlExtender (to edit some of the fields) inside ListViewControl which itself is embeded inside an UpdatePanel. The problem is as follows whenever you cause partail postback the popup panels are created client side outside the updatepanel. And you get more clientside controls with the same clientside ID. When you postback with popup panel the server side control eg. Texbox has Text = clientsidecontrol1.text, clientsidecontrol2.text, clientsidecontrol.text3 Is there a way to prevent this. <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Test.aspx.cs" Inherits="Secure_Test" %> <%@ Register assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" tagprefix="cc1" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head runat="server"> <title></title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <cc1:ToolkitScriptManager ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" runat="server"> </cc1:ToolkitScriptManager> <div> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Label ID="InputLabel" runat="server" Text="Whatever you put in the textbox"></asp:Label> <br /> <asp:Label runat="server"> <%= DateTime.Now.ToString() %></asp:Label> <br /> <asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Refresh" /> <br /> <asp:LinkButton ID="PopupLB" runat="server">Popup</asp:LinkButton> <br /> <cc1:PopupControlExtender ID="PopupControlExtender1" runat="server" PopupControlID="Panel1" TargetControlID="PopupLB" CommitProperty="Value"> </cc1:PopupControlExtender> <asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server"> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel2" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:TextBox ID="InputTB" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> <asp:Button ID="SubmitBTN" runat="server" Text="Submit" onclick="SubmitBTN_Click" UseSubmitBehavior="false" /> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </asp:Panel> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </div> </form> </body> </html> using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using AjaxControlToolkit; public partial class Secure_Test : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { } protected void SubmitBTN_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { PopupControlExtender pce = AjaxControlToolkit.PopupControlExtender.GetProxyForCurrentPopup(Page); pce.Commit("Popup"); InputLabel.Text = InputTB.Text; } } To make it easier to test i post the code of an example page i used for testing. To make myself clear here is an example: i click Popup. Type "asdf" in the textbox and click Submit. InputPanel dispalys "asdf" i click Popup again. Type "qwerty" in the textbox and click Submit.   • JQuery datepicker not working

    - by IniTech
    I'm completely new to JQuery and MVC. I'm working on a pet project that uses both to learn them and I've hit my first snag. I have a date field and I want to add the JQuery datepicker to the UI. Here is what I have done: Added <script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> to the site.master Inside my Create.aspx (View), I have <asp:Content ID="Create" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <h2> Create a Task</h2> <% Html.RenderPartial("TaskForm"); %> </asp:Content> and inside "TaskForm" (a user control) I have: <label for="dDueDate"> Due Date</label> <%= Html.TextBox("dDueDate",(Model.Task.TaskID > 0 ? string.Format("{0:g}",Model.Task.DueDate) : DateTime.Today.ToString("MM/dd/yyyy"))) %> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#dDueDate").datepicker(); }); </script> As you can see, the above checks to see if a task has an id 0 (we're not creating a new one) if it does, it uses the date on the task, if not it defaults to today. I would expect the datepicker UI element to show up, but instead I get: "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method" on the $("#dDueDate").datepicker(); Ideas? It is probably a very simple mistake, so don't over-analyze. As I said, this is the first time I've dealt with MVC or JQuery so I'm lost as to where to start.

  • CakePHP's list problem

    - by jun
    Hi there. I have this table in my DB: Group - ID-Name - 1 -abc - 2 -def - 3 -ghi Pages - id-group_id-name - 1 -1 -home - 2 -1 -about us Now I wanted to make a select box that groups them by 'group' using: function add() { $this->set('pages', $this->Page->find('list', array('fields' => array('Page.id', 'Page.name', 'Page.group_id')))); } In my add.ctp: echo $form->input('group_id', array('options' => $pages)); The output: <select name="data[Page][id]" id="PageId"> <optgroup label="1"> <option value="1">Home</option> <option value="2">About Us</option> </optgroup> </select> I wanted the optgroup to display the actual group name not the group id like: <select name="data[Page][id]" id="PageId"> <optgroup label="abc"> <option value="1">Home</option> <option value="2">About Us</option> </optgroup> </select> I have tried this one: $this->Page->find('list', array('conditions' => 'Group.id = Page.id', 'fields' => array('Page.id', 'Page.name', 'Group.name'))); But 'Group.id' and 'Group.name' is unknown. Thanks!

  • asp.net how to add items programmatically to detailsview

    - by dotnet-practitioner
    I have the following code for each lookup table. So far I am doing copy/paste for each drop down list control. But I think there is a better way of doing this. I should be able to specify DataTextField, DataValueField, control names etc. Of course I will have to manually add configuration related database values on the database side like look up table, and other changes in the stored proc. But at the aspx page or .cs page, there has to be a better way then copy/paste.. <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Your Ethnicity"> <EditItemTemplate> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlEthnicity" runat="server" DataSourceid="ddlDAEthnicity" DataTextField="Ethnicity" DataValueField="EthnicityID" SelectedValue='<%#Bind("EthnicityID") %>' > </asp:DropDownList> </EditItemTemplate> <ItemTemplate > <asp:Label Runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Ethnicity") %>' ID="lblEthnicity"> </asp:Label> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> Please let me know... Thanks

  • Parent Control Mouse Enter/Leave Events With Child Controls

    - by Paul Williams
    I have a C# .NET 2.0 WinForms app. My app has a control that is a container for two child controls: a label, and some kind of edit control. You can think of it like this, where the outer box is the parent control: +---------------------------------+ | [Label Control] [Edit Control] | +---------------------------------+ I am trying to do something when the mouse enters or leaves the parent control, but I don't care if the mouse moves into one of its children. I want a single flag to represent "the mouse is somewhere inside the parent or children" and "the mouse has moved outside of the parent control bounds". I've tried handling MouseEnter and MouseLeave on the parent and both child controls, but this means the action begins and ends multiple times as the mouse moves across the control. In other words, I get this: Parent.OnMouseEnter (start doing something) Parent.OnMouseLeave (stop) Child.OnMouseEnter (start doing something) Child.OnMouseLeave (stop) Parent.OnMouseEnter (start doing something) Parent.OnMouseLeave (stop) The intermediate OnMouseLeave events cause some undesired effects as whatever I'm doing gets started and then stopped. I want to avoid that. I don't want to capture the mouse as the parent gets the mouse over, because the child controls need their mouse events, and I want menu and other shortcut keys to work. Is there a way to do this inside the .NET framework? Or do I need to use a Windows mouse hook?
