I want to switch my torrent client from Vuze to uTorrent, but I have several downloads in progress. Is there any way I can move my incomplete downloads between clients?
I have some launchd plists that are now placed at the administrator per-user level, particularly inside:
/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons
I'd like to avoid that some of those services could start only for one user (possibly avoiding to move all the plists to each ~/Library/LaunchAgents), which is the simplest way?
Thanks in advance.
Does anybody know a keystroke to open the upper left context menu in Windows operating systems? I'm referring to the one listling:
Restore
Move
Size
Minimize
Maximize
Close
In particular I want to restart individual 'inactive' putty sessions without using the mouse by any chance.
Hello,
In the beginning Google Chrome seemed fine but recently its been crashing too many times. I want to move back to Firefox.
I really love the way Google Chrome syncs bookmarks to 'Google Docs'. Is there any extension which gives this functionality in firefox?
It's easy to drag and move the taskbar if there aren't many open windows taking up space on the taskbar. You just have to find an empty spot on the taskbar, then click and drag.
But if the taskbar is full, then it's very difficult to do this. Is there an easier way?
I would like to launch a specific command [1] on a mail server whenever a message is moved from one folder into another folder.
For example, a Thunderbird user moves a message from folder A to Folder B. I'd like to catch this move and launch a specific script on the server.
Is it possible ?
I'm using qmail with courier-imap.

Hello,
Where can i find the key combinations for some actions, in Mozilla Firefox? For example, Ctrl+L moves the cursor to the address bar. I wanna move the cursor in the Google search box, from the right-top position). Which key is associated with this?
And some other key combinations?
Thanks!
Adobe Audition is really stupid in that when you change the size of the window, and then change it back to the original size, all the frame positions are lost and you have to tediously reposition them by hand.
I'd like to make it completely impossible to ever resize the window, just keep it maximized at all times. If I accidentally click "Restore" or drag the title bar, it should either ignore it, or move around the screen while staying the same size. Is there any way to do this?
Junction is a good symbolic link tool in XP. However, it's not so easy to use at first moment, ie. only can use command line interface; move/rename target file/folder; got to use 'junction -d ' to delete link, don't allow delete in explore, but it's hard to distinguish if it's a symbolic link.
Is there any guides for how to use junction in XP like what to do and not to do?
We have 3x ESX hosts and 2x SANS that we wish to move to a redundant 10G networking infrastructure.
We have 4x Dell PowerConnect 8024F's to provide our backbone and are configured as so (only core switches relevant to this question):
So the questions are:
1) Do the interconnects between the 4x 8024F's need to be LAG'd or just STP'd
2) As the NICs on the servers are split across 2 switches, does any special configuration need to be done here or on the switches?
3) If a link or switch fails will the switches automatically find a new path to the Server/SAN?
Ever since FireFox 4, page tabs have been moved to the top of the window. This gets pretty irritating when surfing the net through a remote desktop session. Often when I want to switch tabs, if I accidentally move my mouse a little to much to the top, I get the remote desktop connection bar blocking the tabs instead, then I'd have to wait a few frustrating seconds before it disappears again.
So, are there any methods to shrink or shorten the remote desktop connection bar or delay the appearance of it?
When I work on configuration files, especially of the mail server, I would like to temporarily drop all the incoming traffic except the port 22.
So, I don't risk to lose incoming mails if I need to move the mail server to another server, or something like that.
Using shorewall, how I could do that?
I was thinking to create a rules file to divert all the traffic to a non-existant internal ip and switch it with the normal file when needed.
Hey guys,
Soon I will have a brand new Geforce GTX 285 to replace my current 8800GT.
Will it be possible to move my 8800GT to another PCIX slot, put the GTX 285 into the primary slot and use the nVidia software to make the 8800GT do physics?
I have enough PCIX slots on my motherboard (4). The GTX 285 will take up 2, so the 8800GT should fit in the 3rd.
If anyone knows if this is possible, I would be grateful to be educated!
I use mpd on 3 Ubuntu servers at home. Apparently, if you take a .pls file and convert it to a .m3u file, you can stream it as long as you put is in the designated mpd playlist directory. In my case, the path to that directory is /var/lib/mpd/playlists. When I move the converted file to this directly, even though the mpd client recognizes the saved .m3u file, it won't play it. Does anyone have experience with this function of mpd?
I use Google Chrome and I have 100s of bookmarks, history, search preferences, search engines, extensions, and apps installed.
I want to have a new Google account, and I need to move everything from my current account to the new one.
I did sign in to another Chrome and transferred my bookmarks using the Export/Import option. How can I transfer all the Google Chrome data, saved usernames and passwords, and everything else to the new account?
I have a website that is being hosted and supported by a company that is going out of business. We are looking for a company to do maintenance on the code/content side, and will likely move the hosting to Rackspace.com (or another SAS70 certified provider).
We are bringing the CMS with us, which I know is unusual, but we like it and would like to keep it. What companies should I look at for just CODE and CONTENT maintenance? It's a PHP/MySQL website.
Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone has any ideas on what's causing my pc to lockup at the splash screen on bootup for 1-3minutes. This ONLY happens on the first power up, subsequent reboots run fine.
Running on a Falcon II SSD
I did the customary move of files to another drive when i first formatted the ssd. The slow first boot only started happening recently.
Thanks in advance!
In the Outlook "folder list", it is quite easy to accidentally pickup a folder and move that into another folder. There is no undo for this, and I have not found a way to prevent this.
I thought it was just me, but I recently saw a coworker do the same thing while filing mail via drag and drop. We are using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2007.
Will it be a good move to switch to windows 7 on my laptop with the following specifications...
1.7 ghz intel centrino processor
1256 MB RAM
Intel GMA 900 graphics support
or should i just stick with XP ???
I'm using the EXPORT feature in Hyper-V to move a large Virtual Machine (VM) over a 1GB network from a Windows 2008 to a Windows 2008 R2 box (200GB) and its so intense that I get the following icon on my destination Hyper-V manager:
Is this expected? Is there another way to get large file across the network and minimize this intense I/O effect? Anyones else ever seen that Do Not Enter sign? The other VMs are functional but slow, but I'm guessing that is expected.
I have set to keep taskbar hidden. When I move mouse to screen edge, it appears. But it is slow for me:) I would like to make it to appear immediately. Any ideas?
I'm using FTP 7.5 on Windows 2008 R2.
When I upload a file and it is partially uploaded I'm able to move it before it has completed. Is there a way to stop this?
I see an option under Advanced settings-Behaviour-File Handling-Allow reading files while uploading but this doesn't seem to do the trick. I guess it's write access that I need to stop.
It seemed to have this functionality by default on IIS6.
I have a large amount of e-mails in my inbox and I have created a rule that will take roughly half of them and move them into a folder. It is working on all new incoming mail, but how do I apply it to mail already in my inbox?
Hey all,
I want to move to Linux (Ubuntu more specifically) and also bought a new hard drive. What I'm not really sure about is if I put my old hard drive on an external case, then install Ubuntu on the new one and configure, etc... Can I easily access my old one (which is now an external hard drive)? Will I have no problems accessing my partitions? Thanks in advance.
I've done a full DB backup to C:\Backups\MyDb.bak
Then I've setup a job to incrementally back the DB up every day to that same location.
Then I've moved the backup files to X:\Backups\, changing the target directory in backup job
Now that I try to restore the database from backup, it keeps trying to refer to C:\Backups\MyDb.bak, but that file is no longer there.
How do I fix the issue w/o having to move the backup files back to C:\Backups?
