I want to switch my torrent client from Vuze to uTorrent, but I have several downloads in progress. Is there any way I can move my incomplete downloads between clients?
Hello,
In the beginning Google Chrome seemed fine but recently its been crashing too many times. I want to move back to Firefox.
I really love the way Google Chrome syncs bookmarks to 'Google Docs'. Is there any extension which gives this functionality in firefox?
I am using mac pro.I copied some data from my pen drive to my mac and i deleted the content by moving it to trash. After that when i see the info of pen drive it give more value than the original value. If i cleaned the content of the trash only i am able to see the correct value of pen drive and able to copy data. Is mac has been designed like that or is there any other way to delete other than using "move to trash" option? Thanks.
I'm using FTP 7.5 on Windows 2008 R2.
When I upload a file and it is partially uploaded I'm able to move it before it has completed. Is there a way to stop this?
I see an option under Advanced settings-Behaviour-File Handling-Allow reading files while uploading but this doesn't seem to do the trick. I guess it's write access that I need to stop.
It seemed to have this functionality by default on IIS6.
Does anybody know a keystroke to open the upper left context menu in Windows operating systems? I'm referring to the one listling:
Restore
Move
Size
Minimize
Maximize
Close
In particular I want to restart individual 'inactive' putty sessions without using the mouse by any chance.
I've had the desire to move to Linux for desktop computing for some time, as the OS just suits me, I think, better than Windows. I've not yet moved from Windows for a few reasons:
It's used in my workplace.
I have an extensive application base that does whatever I need (and they're all on a portable hdd)
I am familiar developing software on Windows.
So, what about Linux keeps you from moving to it, or what does your current desktop OS offer that Linux does not?
Since to ubuntu 10.04 upgrade move of my drop-down menus have been dark-on-dark text, which becomes readable (changed background) when selected. I don't know what's causing this but it's a problem on Ambience and Radiance both. Any hints?
Ever since FireFox 4, page tabs have been moved to the top of the window. This gets pretty irritating when surfing the net through a remote desktop session. Often when I want to switch tabs, if I accidentally move my mouse a little to much to the top, I get the remote desktop connection bar blocking the tabs instead, then I'd have to wait a few frustrating seconds before it disappears again.
So, are there any methods to shrink or shorten the remote desktop connection bar or delay the appearance of it?
Hey guys,
Soon I will have a brand new Geforce GTX 285 to replace my current 8800GT.
Will it be possible to move my 8800GT to another PCIX slot, put the GTX 285 into the primary slot and use the nVidia software to make the 8800GT do physics?
I have enough PCIX slots on my motherboard (4). The GTX 285 will take up 2, so the 8800GT should fit in the 3rd.
If anyone knows if this is possible, I would be grateful to be educated!
We're currently using SQL Server Express 2008 as backend for our TFS2010 install (Basic). Would it be possible to move to the standard (or better) version of SQL Server without any big hassels?
I would like to launch a specific command [1] on a mail server whenever a message is moved from one folder into another folder.
For example, a Thunderbird user moves a message from folder A to Folder B. I'd like to catch this move and launch a specific script on the server.
Is it possible ?
I'm using qmail with courier-imap.

Junction is a good symbolic link tool in XP. However, it's not so easy to use at first moment, ie. only can use command line interface; move/rename target file/folder; got to use 'junction -d ' to delete link, don't allow delete in explore, but it's hard to distinguish if it's a symbolic link.
Is there any guides for how to use junction in XP like what to do and not to do?
Can anyone please steer me in the right direction to a function that will edit multiple TODO in one fell swoop. Here are some examples:
highlight a group of TODO that have deadlines and remove the dealines to make them undated.
modify all priorites in a highlighted group -- e.g., #A to #D
set deadlines by group and/or change deadlines by group -- e.g., move everything to a specific date, or set a specific date for each if they were undated.
I have several distribution lists in Outlook 2003 that I need to move to Gmail. While transferring contacts in the main folder is fairly easy—all one does is export to CSV and import—it's not as easy with the distribution lists.
I can't (don't know how to) copy the contacts from the lists to the main contact folder so they can be "normal", and the "save as" options don't include a CSV. There are several of these to do, containing maybe ~100-200 contacts altogether, so I'd like something that's not very tedious.
Hi,
I wonder if the following things can be done with the HTML notes pane of freemind:
1- is it possible on the layout view to decrease the separation between lines?
2- the panel is horizontal, is it possible to setup a vertical view? (I have a big, horizontal-like monitor)
By the way, when I move the mouse pointer over a node, i can see the HTLM note associated with it, but its view (as a yellow square) only lasts for some seconds. Can it be made permament?
Thanks a lot
I have a number of ESX servers hosting VM's, all but one of these works ok, however one server has a problem where any guests on not contactable over the network.
The ESX hosts is contactable, is integrated int VCenter, and you can even live migrate VM's to and from this server, but any VM's on that server are unable to talk to the rest of the network.
The VM's NIC is shown as Up and has the right IP configuration, and as soon as you move it back to another host it works fine.
I am currently using evernote but I have since moved to emacs for many tasks so I would like to access everything from emacs. How can I move all my evernote data to emacs-org mode?
Hello,
Where can i find the key combinations for some actions, in Mozilla Firefox? For example, Ctrl+L moves the cursor to the address bar. I wanna move the cursor in the Google search box, from the right-top position). Which key is associated with this?
And some other key combinations?
Thanks!
When I work on configuration files, especially of the mail server, I would like to temporarily drop all the incoming traffic except the port 22.
So, I don't risk to lose incoming mails if I need to move the mail server to another server, or something like that.
Using shorewall, how I could do that?
I was thinking to create a rules file to divert all the traffic to a non-existant internal ip and switch it with the normal file when needed.
Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone has any ideas on what's causing my pc to lockup at the splash screen on bootup for 1-3minutes. This ONLY happens on the first power up, subsequent reboots run fine.
Running on a Falcon II SSD
I did the customary move of files to another drive when i first formatted the ssd. The slow first boot only started happening recently.
Thanks in advance!
I've done a full DB backup to C:\Backups\MyDb.bak
Then I've setup a job to incrementally back the DB up every day to that same location.
Then I've moved the backup files to X:\Backups\, changing the target directory in backup job
Now that I try to restore the database from backup, it keeps trying to refer to C:\Backups\MyDb.bak, but that file is no longer there.
How do I fix the issue w/o having to move the backup files back to C:\Backups?
I have an installation of MSSQL where I would like to move the data directory to another drive so that all the existing databases are located there and all new databases are created there, as well as the backups, logs, etc. I know I can detach/attach the existing databases, but what about the rest of the settings (backup, new databases)? Is this possible without an uninstall/reinstall? Thank you.
I have a software package I wrote in Mono and I want to be able to deploy it to Ubuntu server as part of my move to continuous integration and deployment work flow.
I was wondering if there is a tool to help me do that, some of the tasks I will need is
Register a new domain/hostname with linux
Install packaegs using apt-et
Copy files
Run some bash scripts
What are the solutions to streamline this process to automate, I understand that is more then one answer to this, I would love to hear all the methods pros and cons.
Thank you
We have some servers which will move to a new Windows 2008 domain, and some Windows 2000 servers which I would prefer to keep in their current domain for a while (until we have the resources to test and reinstall them as Windows 2008 systems in the new domain too).
Can UNC still be used to connect to file server resources on the new system from the old servers? Or is UNC limited to work only within one domain? I'll do tests on Monday but every feedback would be very welcome.
