• Allow traffic from ssl-vpn to enter ipsec tunnel on fortigate

  we configured our FortiGate 50B to route traffic from our local net 192.168.10.* (which is our office) to a remote network 172.29.112.* using an ipsec tunnel. Everything works fine as long my computer has an ip from 192.168.10.*. We can also connect to the office network from at home using a ssl vpn connection. Once connected we receive an ip from 10.41.41.*. Now I want to allow the traffic flow from 10.41.41.* to 172.29.112.* just like it does from the office network. Could somebody point me in the right direction what I would need to do? Thanks, Sascha

• OpenVPN on ec2 bridged mode connects but no Ping, DNS or forwarding

  I am trying to use OpenVPN to access the internet over a secure connection. I have openVPN configured and running on Amazon EC2 in bridge mode with client certs.   In my Fritzbox it states the following: IPv6-Adresse: 2a02:8070:600::14b6:c7******, Gültigkeit: 100465/86065s IPv6-Präfix: 2a02:8070:62c:3200::/56, Gültigkeit: 100464/86064s I am not able to connect to IPv6 Addresses from computers configured by the fritzbox, because they get an address with prefix 2a02:8070:62c:3200::/56 but somehow the fritzbox does not route those addresses. Is this because the IPv6-Address is not in the prefix range? • Running multiple image manipulations in parallel causing OutOfMemory exception

  I am working on a site where I need to be able to split and image around 4000x6000 into 4 parts (amongst many other tasks) and I need this to be as quick as possible for multiple users. I am finding that if this part of code is hit by 4 threads at once I get an OutOfMemory exception. I can stop this happening by wrapping all the code above in a lock(obj) but this isn't ideal. I have tried wrapping just the first using block (where the file is read from disk and split) but I still get the out of memory exceptions (this part of the code executes quite quickly). I this normal considering the amount of memory this should be taking up? Are there any optimisations I could make? Can I increase the memory available? • How difficult is it to setup Mac OS X Server?

  Hi there We are a small office of about 4 people, and we would like to have a 27-inch iMac (Core 2 Duo) setup as a server and workstation simultaneously, using Mac OS X Server. This might seem like overkill (and stupidity at the same time), but here is the situation: we want to convert our whole office to Mac, only one full-time PC left we will not use it's mail server we might use it's chat server we want it setup to provide VPN we are a small office so I don't see how the server can be overrun with too much traffic. How difficult would it be to set it up in this way? I have a fairly advanced knowledge of Mac OS X but have never encountered Mac OS X Server. I think I would be able to set it up, but what are the probable pitfalls that might come up? Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

• Looking for Inneroffice Access Tool, Workstation to Workstation

  This may be a simple question to answer, and I apologize if it's a duplicate. I looked through the suggestions and nothing jumped out at me as the right answer, so here goes: My office has several workstations, Macs and Windows boxes. We do have a firewall and a VPN solution, so getting in to the network from outside is easy. Likewise, we use GoToMeeting for demos and when we help our customers with their issues. But we have one workstation that has certain testing tools on it, and instead of walking across the office to this machine, I'd like to access it from my desk (and monitor it). I will need to open a command line and run commands. I could start a GoToMeeting and do it this way, but that seems overkill and clunky. Is there a simpler tool that allows pseudo-remote access within the same office/network for this kind of access?

Let say I have my office laptop, with no administrator privileges, using example domain ASDF Can I set at my home, another AD server (Microsoft or Samba 4), that have the same domain ASDF as my office laptop. Then I set an administrative user in my own AD server. Theoretically, is it possible to authenticate my office laptop with my own AD? If the above is possible, theoretically, is it possible to gain administrative privileges also with this setup? Thanks.

  I want to use MSCOMM control in my MS Excel 2010 VBA. The control shall appear in Tools-> Additional Controls dialog box in VBE of MS Excel 2010. I am trying to register MSCOMM32.OCX on my 64-bit Windows 7 machine. However, as I try to register it using regsvr32 as shown in the command window below, I am getting shown error popup. What am I missing here? Why is this component not getting registered? Or this is not the correct way to include MSCOMM control in MS Excel VBA?   I am a web developer, and I find myself often working from home. But when I do, I am forced to Remote Desktop to the Office desktop computer and work from there. The reason is because the application I am working on needs to connect to servers at a Data Center via a VPN from the Office Desktop. HomeDesktop (Win7) --- PVN --- OfficeDesktop(WinXP) --- VPN --- Data Center What I would really like to do is, I would like to find a way to be using my Home desktop developing on that, and whenever my computer tries to access servers on the Data Center, I would like to tunnel that traffic through the two VPN tunnels separating me and the Data Center. I have admin privileges on both Office Desktop and Home Desktop, but I do not have any admin privileges in the Data Center. So what kind of tunneling solution could I use here? Is it even possible?

• Unable to setup ssh tunnel on mac

  On my office windows XP laptop I use a program called Bitvise Tunnelier to establish ssh tunnel to a in-house MySQL database. In the Tunnelier program I also need to provide address of corporate http proxy server in order to establish tunnel. On my personal mac laptop, I use Cisco Anywhere client to establish a VPN connection to my corporate network. But i'm unable to establish ssh tunnel to mysql database using ssh. How do I specify the proxy server address in the ssh command? As additional info when i'm using office laptop (whether in home or office) I can successfully ping to the server address specified in the Tunnelier program. But i cannot ping the same server using my mac machine (even after connecting via VPN). So basically i'm unable to understand what's going on and what steps i can take to debug this problem .

• Cant logon to domain over site-to-site vpn

  Tied together branch office with main office over two Cisco ASAs. The (internal) networks on either side can communicate with the other. I can ping, use the DC's DNS service and even join a domain on a new client. I can't however logon, I get the "domain controller is not available" error message on client. I find nothing peculiar in DC's event logs. Sicne it's site-to-site (with ping), it's always up so it should work. No firewall rules (except allow any any) between the two networks (of either side). Headoffice has a domain name: business.com all users in the many sub-offices need to have a headoffice email address: [email protected] Anyone not in head office will need the email forwarded to an external email address. All users in head office will have their email delivered to exchange. Users are listed in active directory under 2 different OU's. "HeadOffice" or "SubOffice". Is this something able to be configured? I've done some googling, but I can't find any examples or businesses set up this way. Thanks

• How can I prevent my domain controller doing forward lookups for remote users?

  I have a Windows Server 2003 server in the office. I VPN into the LAN remotely. My VPN has a virtual NIC with the Windows Server as the primary DNS since it is a domain controller. When connected to the VPN and I do an nslookup or simply browse the web the DNS from the VPN provides the DNS answers. I believe this is because it has DNS forwarders, so queries it can't answer are forwarded and then it relays the answer. This is the desired behavior for workstations in the office (they should query their domain controller first); however for remote VPN users this is not desirable. I do not want my remote office's server to answer DNS queries it is not the authority of (which happens to be 192.168.x.x). Is there any way I can configure this?

  My company is evaluating Box.com as a file server replacement. It's file locking behavior for concurrent access to files seems incomplete. Specifically, files are not locked* (either exclusive or read-only) when they are being edited by Office or similar programs. This inevitably results in multiple versions of documents as concurrent access results in change conflicts. *The exception is when the file is edited using Zoho Docs - perhaps other web-based office suites as well. Box provides multiple options for editing documents, including Google Docs, a local copy of Office or similar, Zoho Docs and others. If you are using Box how have you managed or worked around this behavior?

• Windows 2003 Server R2SP2 throws even ID 2269 after installing Excel WebPart in MOSS3

  We recently added an Excel workbook webpart (read only excel file - no editing) on our Sharepoint 2007 server. Once we did that, approximately 3-4 times an hour event ID 2269 is shown in the Application Log and a few minutes after that, an event id 1002 is displayed in the system long and the Sharepoint Offfce Servers Application pool shuts down. We've already check the "Bypass traverse checking and DCOM settings) per the MS KB and I have opened a ticket with MS Support. Problem is that MS Suppoert (sharepoint) thinks it is an IIS problem and the IIS people think it is a Sharepoint issue. Anyone else seen this problem? If we remove the Excel webpart, everything goes back to normal. The App Pools, SP and SP Central Admin sites are all using the same domain service account. Thanks in advance, Phil

• ObjectContext.SaveChanges() fails with SQL CE

  I am creating a model-first Entity Framework 4 app that uses SQL CE as its data store. All is well until I call ObjectContext.SaveChanges() to save changes to the entities in the model. At that point, SaveChanges() throws a System.Data.UpdateException, with an inner exception message that reads as follows: Server-generated keys and server-generated values are not supported by SQL Server Compact. I am completely puzzled by this message. Any idea what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks.   What should look like X Window System (X.Org) modeline to be put in xorg.conf, for high resolution (incuding recommended 1680x1050 @ 50Hz resolution) for 22" NEC LCD 22WV monitor? X.Org autodetect correctly only 800x600 and lower resolution SVGA modes, unfortunately. How can I generate proper "Modeline" line for xorg.conf? Is information included in NEC_Datasheet_LCD22WV-english.pdf enough (found on NEC LCD 22WV product info page)? What tools there are available to generate proper modeline for a LCD monitor for Linux? MS Windows (MS Windows XP Home) correctly detects and use 1680x1050 resolution; can I somehow get modeline information from MS Windows?

  I often use the MSDN website for language reference. In order to make navigation faster, I downloaded the offline version of SQL Server 2005 Books Online from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=be6a2c5d-00df-4220-b133-29c1e0b6585f&displaylang=en The reason why it is 137MB is that it comes with its own GUI, which, not surprisingly, is rather poor! Apparently though, the pages are written in html. The URIs look like: ms-help://MS.SQLCC.v9/sqlcc9/html/674933a8-e423-4d44-a39b-2a997e2c2333.htm . I can open the URI in IE, but with errors. Do you know if I can open them with Firefox and how? Or is there a simple HTML version of "MS Books Online", for example in a ZIP file?

  We have essentially a remote office with about 5 dumb terminals. The terminals are connecting to our office directly over a wireless link. What I want to do is connect all their printers onto a print server. But since the remote office is not actually allowed to see our LAN (since they are actually another company) we don't want a full on open VPN tunnel set up. Naturally the RDP traffic passes through a firewall. Is there an easy way to set up the RDP server so that it can see a print server on a remote LAN?

  There is a file server in my office that is not connected to my office LAN. In this server there are folders that are shared. This server is connected to a switch and a wireless router. Everyone who wants to access this server uses wireless network connection. They log in to this server by providing user name and password registered to the server. Some people can log in to my office file server by providing user name in (the server name)/(user name) format, while other must use (the server IP address)/(user name) format. Why is it like this? I need everyone can access the file server by providing user name in (the server name)/(user name) format. I have tried to change the %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file, as some suggested, but it won't work. Any other suggestion?

• Developer Laptop with SQL Server 2008 can't login to SSIS when offsite

  When I bring my Windows XP (SP3) laptop home I can still login as my domain account because Windows caches the info necessary to authenticate me when the domain controller isn't around. However, when I try to connect to Integration Services from within SQL Server Management Studio, it generates SSPI context errors. The only way it works is if I connect to the office with VPN or if I'm at the office where the domain controller is. I have both SQL Server Agent and SQL Server Integration Services 10 running under local computer accounts. It seems that the only option to connect to Integration Services from within Management Studio is to use Window authentication. Is there any way to do this when I'm not connected to the office? Why don't these services use the cached info just like Windows Login? Thanks.

We would like to setup our network in following way Internet<-WindowsServer2003 as router<-Switch<-Office Computers Server has two nic interfaces and we have 24ports 1GB network switch connected to one nic and internet connection to another nic. Our ISP is Frontier and we have Fios 25/25. We get network cable out of ONT box directly connected to our server. There are no modems/routers. Setting up DHCP on windows 2003 is easy job but we would like to have the ability to port forward some ports from office computers. I have some knowledge in networking but not as much. How could I setup FHCP server on win2k3 with the ability to port forward some ports to office computers? Thank you for your time

  In my setup there exist user1, ..., [email protected]. Mail for example.com is handled by Exchange 2010 and all the users user Outlook 2010. There also exists a Standard Distribution list named [email protected]. Is it possible to have some of the users being able to send email with [email protected] as the sender address? Can the sender's GECOS be different too when this happens so that the recipient sees "Offices of Example.com" instead of "User Name X"? Sometimes the secretaries need to send stuff as "the office" and not as theirselves ...
