• Authlogic OpenID: Fetching E-Mail from Provider.

  This is a really weird problem: I have set up the authlogic_openid_selector_example app. When i register, the email id is not returned by the openid provider the first time. But if i delete the account and register again, the email id is returned. But this doesn't seem to be happening in the example hosted here: http://big-glow-mama.heroku.com/. How do i fix this problem? Has this got to do with caching? I have hosted my version of the app here: http://pingauthtest.heroku.com/ I guess the author of authlogic_openid_selector_example app (@holden) has forgotten to commit new changes. :) I looked at my development log and the first time the provider doesn't return the openid.ext1.value.ext0 which contains the email id. This is returned the second time only after having deleted the account first.   Hi, so the story go like this: i'm using the Logging Enterprise Application block that provided by microsoft to log events in our application. The goal is to enabled event viewer logging at loading and then turn it off. What i did is to add EventLog TraceListener which write all our logs into the event viewer. What i'm trying to do is to disable it after the application was done loading. The only way that i can thing about is to add a LogEnabled Filter and then turn it off. However, i don't know how to access this filter at run time and disable log on this listener. if you have an idea, please share. Thanks

• Run Python CGI Script on Windows XP

  I have a Windows XP machine that has Apache installed via a VisualSVNServer installation. I am . trying to get a simple python cgi script to run in my browser e.g. http://build.procepts.com.au:8080/hg/cgi-bin/test.cgi. However despite trying all the recommended approaches the browser only ever displays the plain text from the cgi script. Amongst many other attempted solutions I have followed the instructions contained here. My ultimate aim is to be able to use the Apache web server to serve repositories from a new Mercurial installation. Seeing as Apache is already installed from VisualSVNServer I thought I might as well make use of it. Is there some other trick to get this working?

• android : how to run a shell command from within code

  I am trying to execute a command from within my code, the command is "echo 125 /sys/devices/platform/flashlight.0/leds/flashlight/brightness" and I can run it without problems from adb shell I am using Runtime class to execute it : Runtime.getRuntime().exec("echo 125 > /sys/devices/platform/flashlight.0/leds/flashlight/brightness"); However I get a permissions error since I am not supposed to access the sys directory. I have also tried to place the command in a String[] just in case spaces caused a problem but it didn't make much differense. Does anyone know any workaround for this ?

But if i run the same program for more than 10 hour and execute query then i receives the following mysql exception. • iPhone image app not releasing memory as in instruments using imageNamed

  hi, im building iPhone app that downloads images (UIImageView) from internet and adding them to UIScrollView. This scroll view could contain 20 or more UIImageViews. Iam adding UIImages to UIImageView like this: UIImageView *newView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage: image]; Then I just scroll these images like in photo app. Problem is, when I put just 3 UIImageViews in UIScrollView everything works fine, but when I put more images, more memory is used, so that app can crash after 15 or more images. I can understand it that more images alloc more memory, but in Instruments i get allocated max 2-3 MB, but in device memory raises until it crashes. When I use simulator for OS 3.0 i can see memory rising like on device. On higher versions I dont see this memory raise, why is that?

  I am using PopupManager in FB4 to display a custom dialog. popwin = new TitleWindow(); popwin.addElement(myCustomDialog); PopUpManager.addPopUp(popwin,this,false); PopUpManager.centerPopUp(popwin); It's possible to drag the popped up TitleWindow and let go of it when its gray title bar lies outside the bounds of the Flex app rectangle, and then the popup cannot be grabbed again. It's also possible to drag the TitleWindow downwards so it becomes completely invisible below the bottom edge of the Flex app rectangle. When the Flex app bounds are less than the full browser window, and the user is working quickly, this chances of this happening increase. Is there a simple setting that will keep this from happening, or must the programmer intercept the behavior during the drag operation? Thanks Tim

• MissingSourceFile when I run "cucumber features"

  I had cucumber 0.6.1 working quite fine... but I ran the gem update cucumber command, and things went smoothly. Then when I decided to run the cucumber features command, I received this error: Using the default profile... no such file to load -- cucumber/webrat/element_locator (MissingSourceFile) /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in gem_original_require' /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:inpolyglot_original_require' So I tried a few things... I did a gem update on webrat, that didn't work. I removed all previous versions of cucumber by doing gem uninstall cucumber then selecting past versions. Same with webrat. No luck. What am I doing wrong?

Clearly any machine that can run Microsoft Windows with .net qualifies as well as machines targeted by the Mono project. It would appear that the .NET Micro Framework has the ability to target other processors not covered by the above, but it is not clear to me that it uses CIL. Does anyone have a list of which processors are capable of running a program in CIL and or interpreting C# directly (as the .NET Micro Framework appears to do)?

I have many classes that derive from a base handler: class BaseHandler(webapp.RequestHandler): def get(self, CSIN=None): self.body(CSIN) Does this mean that the body() method of every descendant class needs to have the same argument? This is cumbersome. Only one descendant actually uses that argument. And what about when I add new args?   I am querying the __Stat_Kind__ kind. It does not return me entities about kinds that currently exist in the datastore but it includes entities about kinds that I had deleted more than a week ago. I am not so much concerned about it returning me the non-existent kinds - the doc does mention this scenario after all. But I am concerned that it does not return me info about my current kinds. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong? To folks on the app engine team: Also, on the dev server neither __Stat_Kind__ nor __Stat_Total__ return any entities. Which means I need to deploy my app to appspot before I can test this behavior. It would be nice if the dev server did return some basic info. Thanks, Keyur

  Over the connections that most people in the USA have in their homes, what is the approximate length of time to send a list of 200,000 integers from a client's browser to an internet sever (say Google app engine)? Does it change much if the data is sent from an iPhone? How does the length of time increase as the size of the integer list increases (say with a list of a million integers) ? Context: I wasn't sure if I should write code to do some simple computations and sorting of such lists for the browser in javascript or for the server in python, so I wanted to explore this issue of how long it takes to send the output data from a browser to a server over the web in order to help me decide where (client's browser or app engine server) is the best place for such computations to be processed.

• How can I run a user script before any inline scripts run on a webpage?

  I want to make a greasemonkey type script for firefox that runs before the scripts on the page. Greasemonkey scripts run after scripts on the page, so that won't work. The reason I need this is because I want to edit one of the scripts on the page. Specifically, I want to delete a script that forces the page to load inside a frame since having the page inside a frame breaks F5 (Pressing F5 makes the page jump back to the front page instead of reloading the current page). Also, I don't want to load the page through a proxy with AJAX and switching to chrome/opera is not an option either. I was thinking maybe the Jetpack add-on would work but it seems to only have the same event that greasemonkey uses, DOMContentLoaded. Any ideas?

• How do i redirect to a GET request from a POST request on GAE

  Hello everyone, i am writing an FBML app on facebook hosted in GAE. Facebook will talk to your hosted app only vai POST (im sure this is the cause, but please do correct me if i'm wrong). So im faced with the issue that inside of my POST method, i need to redirect to facebook OAuth authroize URL. But i can only send a GET request. How can i do that? At the moment i'm doing class OauthHandler(webapp.RequestHandler): def post(self): # blablablab request.redirect(oauth_uri) Which is wrong since the oauth_uri is only responding to GET. Further more, OAuth will redirect back to my redirect handler through GET, but i cant! i can only do post. So i'm confused. ideas? Thanks in advance

  I have been reading some django tutorial and it seems like all the view functions have to go in a file called "views.py" and all the models go in "models.py". I fear that I might end up with a lot of view functions in my view.py file and the same is the case with models.py. Is my understanding of django apps correct? Django apps lets us separate common functionality into different apps and keep the file size of views and models to a minimum? For example: My project can contain an app for recipes (create, update, view, and search) and a friend app, the comments app, and so on. Can I still move some of my view functions to a different file? So I only have the CRUD in one single file?

  Can anyone point me in the direction of how I could get a NUnit test to run a .sql file to Create / Setup a database. I know about the the TestFixtureSetUp and TestFixtureTearDown attributes / methods in NUnit. So I KNOW how to call methods before and after all or each unit tests. I'm just unsure of how to load and execute the contents of a .sql file agains a SQL Server 2005 database programatically. Any examples? This is part of our TDD / CI. • Any way to rename a deployed ClickOnce app?

  My company has a ClickOnce that has been in use with our customers for about a year now. We're going through a re-branding, and want to change the name of the application. However, just changing all of the normal name options in Visual Studio, and then building a new deploy obviously changes the manifests that the existing app is looking for, so essentially any installed apps never see the new updates. I've tried messing around with the .application file, but haven't been able to get anything to work yet. Is there anyway to rename a deployed ClickOnce app, or do we have to get people to just install the new app?
