Basically, the current setup involves me needing to manually go in after first boot and set the newly installed JRE as the default using the alternatives --config command. There are few things I need to have working though: Each repository should have its own ACL, with different users allowed to push/pull It shouldn't be ssh-based (it shouldn't require users to have shell accounts on that machine) So, I guess that leaves me with some https with basic authentication, right?     I have an DLL which is constantly connected to a SQL Server instance. The server itself is connected with "admin" permissions, but "normal" users should be able to access the server with their own username and password. The server would still be connected a "admin". I just want to check if the user can access the database. Is there a way to authenticate the user using a SQL query? It would of course be possible to add a encrypted "password" column to a database table for users, but I would prefer not having to do that.

    We have a JBoss server with a single J2EE on it. I wish to find out who are the current active users using that application. Does JBoss give me any utilities that lets me view those existing sessions? (NOT the count, but who all are logged in) The question is kinda lame, but so is my JBoss knowledge :) I checked the JBoss community, but it only had a couple of relative unanswered questions there. The information i'm looking for would help me in maintenance cycles. I do not wish to reboot the system when users are still using it. We also need to keep a track of any illegal activities on our server. Hence the requirement. Would appreciate any pointers :) Regards, Abhi

    Hi, i have a web user control containing a repeater. The repeater contains three buttons. On button click it gives the following error : Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" % in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. Since user control does not have page directive, so i changed the enableEventValidation to false, but it restricted the itemcommand event of the repeater. Can someone guide me, how to solve this problem?

    We have several developers who maintain the system and I want them to easily read the log files in /var/log/httpd without needing root access.     Does anyone know any sane reason for such bundling decision? Google engineers act wisely in most cases, so this kinda surprized me. This would cause collisions with other versions of servlet API pulled via Maven dependencies: webapp classpath will likely contain version which is bundled with GWT; container may refuse to load the GWT jar as it contains the javax.servlet package; in most cases this will likely deviate classpaths across your IDE's debugger and the really executing VM.   • Is it possible to authenticate user manually with oauth2

    I want to authenticate a user with oauth2 to access google drive. I can get the access token required when using AccountManager to retrieve an account and then get the token with: mgr.blockingGetAuthToken(account, ApiConst.DRIVE_AUTH_SCOPE, true); But I want the user to be able to authenticate by providing username and password instead of using the account added to the phone. Is this possible? EDIT So I have tried to implement the authorization in a WebView. I followed this example. I have extracted the code request parameter but the code used to retrieve the access token seems to be deprecated and not compatible with the packages used by Google Drive SDK. This is the code used to retrieve the access token in the example: AccessTokenResponse accessTokenResponse = new GoogleAuthorizationCodeGrant(new NetHttpTransport(), new JacksonFactory(), OAuth2ClientCredentials.CLIENT_ID, OAuth2ClientCredentials.CLIENT_SECRET, code, OAuth2ClientCredentials.REDIRECT_URI).execute(); Can this be done in some other way or should I just give up?

If a new point is added to the database they can right click on the UI and say "add this point" and choose from a list of database points. I'm looking for some pointers on where to start on creating this editor application, could something clever be done using XAML to dynamically create std WPF controls at runtime?     Recently I attended couple of interviews. Out of all kernel questions which were asked, thr is one specific question which I couldnt find convincing answer of. How will you use different synchronization techniques while sharing data between user space process and interrupt context function? My convincing answer was: In interrupt context code: 1. do *spin_lock_irqsave* 2. access data buffer which is shared between user space app and kernel 3. do *spin_lock_irqrestore* Then this was not convincing answer.     I am trying to create a new Notice Alert using PHP and Javascript. Suppose that a 100 users are currently logged into to the Online Notice Board Application and any One user posts a new notice. I want an immediate alert signal on all the users screen. I know, that the simplest way of doing it is to constantly Ping the server but I don't want to do it as it will slow down the server. Moreover, I am on a shared host. So I don't have access to any Socket Port. That means, I cannot establish any direct Socket Communication Channel from the Server to the User Machine. Can any one suggest me some other solution to this kind of problems???

I wanted to personalize the page by having the user name appear as part of the thank you note. I tried document.getElementById(Name1).value to retrieve the value of the Name but it it is giving Undefined. Is there a way for me to set the value of the Name1 field to another variable that I call again to include it in my text message?

  • Examining ASP.NET's Membership, Roles, and Profile - Part 18

    Membership, in a nutshell, is a framework build into the .NET Framework that supports creating, authenticating, deleting, and modifying user account information. Each user account has a set of core properties: username, password, email, a security question and answer, whether or not the account has been approved, whether or not the user is locked out of the system, and so on. These user-specific properties are certainly helpful, but they're hardly exhaustive - it's not uncommon for an application to need to track additional user-specific properties. For example, an online messageboard site might want to also also associate a signature, homepage URL, and IM address with each user account. There are two ways to associate additional information with user accounts when using the Membership model. The first - which affords the greatest flexibility, but requires the most upfront effort - is to create a custom data store for this information. If you are using the SqlMembershipProvider, this would mean creating an additional database table that had as a primary key the UserId value from the aspnet_Users table and columns for each of the additional user properties. The second option is to use the Profile system, which allows additional user-specific properties to be defined in a configuration file. (See Part 6 for an in-depth look at the Profile system.) This article explores how to store additional user information in a separate database table. We'll see how to allow a signed in user to update these additional user-specific properties and how to create a page to display information about a selected user.
