    I have a windows forms app running on a machine that is not on a domain, that needs to be able to move a file from the local filesystem to a UNC path. I have a username and password for that path. I was wondering is there any way to do this directly with out execing the net.exe command? Ideally I wouldn't have to map a drive.

  • Reading HTTP headers from JAX-WS Web Service

    Hi all, I currently have a JAX-WS Web Service that receives some credentials in the HTTP header. These are used for BASIC authentication. There is a filter that performs authentication by reading the HTTP headers and checking against the database. Still, I need the username from within the Web Service in order to perform other service logic related stuff. Is there a way of accessing the HTTP headers from within the Web Service? Thanks.

Someone suggested using WCF or Web Services. I'm wondering what the advantages are vs. just posting to an ASPX page like: Myserver.com/Functions.ASP?FunctionName=GetValue?UserName=BubbGump and returning some simple, easy to parse text, like one value per line.

    I'm trying to get the last tweet from the people I follow using the twitter api (http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/friends.json&screen_name=[username]), but I noticed that if the user's last tweet is a retweet, the json data does not contain a "status" element. Using the "user timeline" api does not work either, the last tweet is the last non retweeted tweet. Is there a way to get the real last status, even if it's a RT, through the twitter API?

I have spent a rediculous amount of time experimenting with various methods of hashing the plain text password for storage. For example, for the user1 his profile page will be user1.mysitename.com and for the user2 profile page will be user2.mysitename.com. Can it be done using url aliasing? basically user1.mysitename.com should be www.mysitename.com/profile.aspx?username=user1 I will be hosting this in windows 2003 (IIS6), any help is highly appreciated.
