  Hi .... I try to learn Spring MVC 3.0 validation. but I got NoSuchMessageException: No message found under code 'name.required' for locale 'en_US' error message when form submted. • How to get Facebook-Feeds in Trillian without connecting to Facebook-Chat?

  I installed the trial of Trillian 5.0 Build 22 (I don't know if the version 4 Astra is any different). I successfully added my Facebook account so I can see my facebook news on Trillian and works great. The problem is that I don't want to use the Facebook-chat, and if I disconnect the Facebook-chat the rest of the facebook stuff (news, events, groups, request) also disappears. I tried by setting the Facebook status to Away; and I'm not sure if someone can chat with me if I choose that; but anyway I still have the contacts list full of people I don't want. EDIT: Maybe I wasn't clear enough about the Facebook part. And that might be why some people fell this is off-topic. But when I talk about Facebook in this question, I'm not referring to the Facebook site at any point. I'm mean the Facebook plugin of Trillian (and it's not an user plugin; it's a built-in plugin).

• Postfix configuration - Uing virtual min but server is bouncing back my mail.

  I have no experience in setting up postfix, and thought virtualmin minght do the legwork for me. Appears not. When I try to send mail to the domain (either [email protected] [email protected] or [email protected]) I get the following message returned This is the mail system at host dedq239.localdomain. I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below. For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster> If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message. It seems that the mail gets to my server but the server fails to locally deliver the message to the correct user. (This is a guess, truthfully I have no idea what is happening). • Dual monitor webbrowsing with Firefox - Addon that opens links on the other window?

  I often browse news aggressors like Reddit.com and I want to be able to have one Firefox window open on each of my two screens, and when I middle click on a link on my left screen, it will open up the tab on my right firefox window. I know that there are some plugins that can open up new windows, but if I do that I'll have to many windows open and I'd rather manage my open news stories via tab bars rather than with windows (clearer, more efficient to browse, and easier to bookmark). Is there a Firefox addon with which I can middle click on a link and it will open it in a new tab in my other window?

• How can I make the iTunes podcast count ignore selected podcasts?

  Hi all, Until recently I have only listened to news type podcasts with people talking, like TWiT and Security Now. I also like music, so decided to subscribe to some other music related podcasts, however I don't want these to appear in my podcasts count in iTunes on the left hand side. I downloaded a load of old ones from the music related podcasts, and now I can't see at a glance how many news podcasts I have to listen to. I know it sounds really picky, but if it can be done, I would be a little bit happier. Of course I did some googling, but turned up a blank. Would guess it needs some form of plugin. Using the latest version of iTunes at the time of posting. Thanks in advance.

• Redirect anything within /attachments/ directory up one level but also removing anything after /attachments/

  WordPress creates an attachment page for any images uploaded through the post editor and "attached" to that post. After migrating a site, those attachment pages no longer exist, and we now have around 1000 links pointed at 404's. So, I was looking to find a way to do a redirect for any url that has /attachement/ in it's string and then push that url back up one level (which happens to be the post page). so for instance: http://mysite.com/2012/news/blog-post-title/attachment/image-page/ (which doesnt exist) will go to http://mysite.com/2012/news/blog-post-title/ (which does exist). Along with redirecting up one level, I also need to remove anything after /attachment/ (in this case the "image-page." Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

  I'm wondering if DDOS attacks to PBX or telecommunications systems is possibe real. According to this links: http://threatpost.com/en_us/blogs/firm-sees-more-ddos-attacks-aimed-telecom-systems-073112 http://news.softpedia.com/news/DDOS-Attacks-Against-Telecom-Systems-Cost-as-Little-as-20-16-Per-Day-284875.shtml it is possible. There are DDOs attacks to web servers, which mostly give them so much concurrent loads or connections that service get unavailable. Many government or non-profit organizations that suffered this kind of attacks, eventually could choose to shutdown their web server and that's it, waiting for these attacks to end. For a DDOs attacks to PBX, I imagine that it would result in telephones getting busy or ringing all the time unstoppably. This kind of attack could really damage any kind organization. Is it possible to do that or are we just in the beginnings?

• Pointcast Alternatives?

  I used to love Pointcast in the early days of the internet; it was a screensaver that, like RSS feeds, brought in all your favorite sources with news articles and stock quotes along with various other info and turned it into a visually interesting screensaver. It was before broadband though and I heard so many work places had to ban it that the company eventually folded. But I wondered if there are any modern day equivalents? I certainly have feed readers and some awesome desktop gadgets that bring in various things like news and weather, and I don't want a whole screensaver like pointcast. But I wondered if anyone out there had other suggestions worth taking a look at; making some kind of feed display of interest, or some other way to turn favorite content into more animated desktop background, etc...

• Exchange 2010 sending old Out of Office message

  We are just about done with our migration from Exchange 2003 to 2010. I have a user who has been migrated to the new system that is now out on medical leave. He has gone into OWA and set up his Out of Office notification. The good news is that an Out of Office message is sent, the bad news is that it appears to be sending an old outdated message from back when the user was on Exchange 2003, and not honoring the new message set up in OWA. The user has also tried setting this up in Outlook 2010 as well with the same behavior. I have a feeling that this is related to the old public folders (didn't they contain OOF messages?) still lingering around our Exchange org. Any ideas?

• How can I search for Gmail conversations that have more than one e-mail? [closed]

  I previously used a service that sent me Slashdot articles as individual e-mails. All I had to do was give them the RSS url, and they handled the rest. On the Gmail side, I simply made a filter, labeling these e-mails as "News". Once I stopped using the service, I realized that I had more than 20,000 such e-mails stockpiled. While I could delete all "News" e-mails, there are some that I've forwarded to friends, sometimes receiving multiple replies. These conversations are valuable - I would like to keep them. As far as I can tell, there's no way to search for conversations that have more than one e-mail in the thread. Up until now, I've been deleting them page by page, carefully de-selecting the conversations that have more than one e-mail; however, it will take far too much time to complete. Is there an easier way that I'm missing? Thanks.

  I'm going to set up a web service which will use the LAMP stack. One of the most important features of the site is that it should be anonymous. We thought that a cool thing will be if the server didn't made any logs that could potentially identify a user. I'm working on a web app for a news organization. They want a site to allow people to sumbit news leads and tips (text / files) to journalists. We think if we can provide good anonymity people will be more inclined to provide information. We will also teach how to use stuff like TOR as an extra precaution for whistleblowers Is this even possible? Any suggestions of obscure things we should look into?

• Method to control multiple sites using same cookie?

  Is it possible for two different web pages to use the same cookie? For example, some news sites now have buttons on the bottom, where if you are logged into facebook, you can just click the button to "like" the article. Is this a case of a 3rd party website using facebook's cookie to know which account you are, and if so, is there a way I can control it? I'm not sure how the new "like" system works, so maybe the button part isn't actually on the news site, but hosted on facebooks servers or something, so it's really facebook itself accessing its own cookie. If that's the case, is there a way I can choose when a site accesses its own cookie? Thanks for any help!

• How do I display the full title bar in Firefox 29?

  With Firefox 29, it no longer displays the full title. For example, in this screen shot here, it only display the beginning of "The New York Times - Breaking News, World News & Multimedia". How can I make it display the whole thing? EDIT (for clarification): I'd like to see the full title of the web page of the tab I am on at all times (hovering the cursor would not work for me). Making the tab full width only works if I have 1 or 2 tabs, but most of the time I have many more tabs so this wouldn't work for me.

  My client site is built in Silverstripe, there is a news page, and it allows people to leave comments. Unfortunately we've got loads of spam emails. I'm new to this, is there any way we can disable the comment field by default? How do I do it? Alternatively is there easy way for me to install a spam protection? Thanks heaps.   I've never really understood the custom of stuffing a summary of one's family's activities for the year in a Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa card.  It seems a little self-congratulatory and impersonal.  I'd rather my friends kept authentically in touch throughout the year, but perhaps that's just me.Nonetheless, I see the value of a year-end summary in the IT industry.  I spend a lot of time helping our customers understand the latest new developments... and straightening out confusion over changes to the old and familiar.  It can be hard to keep up with the latest news in this space.Here are the eight most-important news items for 2010, with suggested actions for Apps DBAs:Premier Support for EBS 11.5.10 ended on November 30, 2010You need to be on a minimum baseline of 11.5.10 patches to be eligible for Extended Support.  New patches for EBS 11i released during the Extended Support period will be produced only for the minimum baseline configuration.Action: Ensure that your EBS 11i environments meet the minimum baseline requirements. Minimum Baselines are Emerging for EBS 12.0 Extended SupportExtended Support for EBS 12.0 begins on February 1, 2012.  That's only 13 months away.  Minimum baselines haven't been finalized yet, but the 12.0.6 Release Update Pack and the Financials CPC July 2009 are currently slated.  Action: Ensure that your EBS 12.0 environments meet the currently-specified baseline requirements. Sun, Windows, and Linux users should have upgraded to JDK 6 by nowJDK 5's End of Service Life was October 30, 2009 for those three platforms.  If you're running the E-Business Suite on Sun, Windows, or Linux, you should upgrade your EBS servers to JDK 6.  Alternatively, you can purchase Java for Business support (the equivalent of Extended Support for Java). Action: Upgrade your Sun, Windows, or Linux EBS servers to JDK 6. Premier Support for Database 10gR2 ended on July 31, 2010The 10gR2 Database is now in Extended Support.  If you're still on 10gR2, you should start planning your upgrade to a higher certified database version such as 11gR2 11.2.0.2.Action: Upgrade to 10gR2 databases to 11gR2 11.2.0.2.

Here comes some good news for Microsoft lovers – Microsoft’s Kinect is selling twice as fast as Apple iPads. In just 25 days after the launch, 2 million Kinects are sold across the globe – that means 100K Kinect sales per day. Very impressive! Kinect was originally released for XBox 360 gaming console but hackers and geeks are able to connect Kinect to Windows 7 PC to control computers using gestures. The possibilities Kinect usage in building natural user interfaces looks very promising. If this growth sustains after the festive season, Microsoft Kinect will displace iPad from the crown of fastest adopted digital device.
