    Low level Java, I mean, bits, bytes, bit masking, GC internals, JVM stuff, etc in the following contexts: - When you are building an enterprise app using frameworks like Spring, Hybernate, etc. - Interviews for a Sr Java Developer position where you are expected work on a existing Enterprise App that was built using some frameworks (Spring, EJB, Hybernate,etc) - Architects (Java) I understand knowing the very low level is "good". But how often do you think / use of these in the real-world, unless you are developing something from the ground-up keeping performance in mind?

    Hello everyone, I am using SQL Server 2008 Enterprise DB and using the new Merge statement (when source and target are both SQL Server 2008 DB tables), and it works well. I have another database table which is hosted in SQL Server 2005 Enterprise DB. I want to know whether Merge statement could using one table of SQL Server 2008 as source, and another tableof SQL Server 2005 as target?     I have created a database model in Visio Professional (2003). I know that the Enterprise version has the ability to create a DB in Sql Server based on the data in Visio. I do not have the option to install Enterprise. Aside from going through the entire thing one table and relationship at a time and creating the whole database from scratch, by hand, can anyone recommend any tool/utility/method for converting the visio database model into a Sql Script that can be used to create a new DB in Sql Server?

  • Why aren't RemoteApp icons showing up

    I have a Windows 2008 R2 server running RDS. I have installed and configured RemoteApp to publish applications with RDS Web Access. When I browse to https://servernname.domain.local/RDWeb I can log in and get to the RemoteApp Programs tab, but there are no icons or apps to click on. I have added a bunch of apps in Remote App manager and they are all enabled for RD Web Access. Also, I am an administrator on the server.

  • my mouse scroll wheel doesn't scroll

    It's only a minor thing but i can't solve it. I have a ps2 mouse on win xp sp3. the wheel has stopped scrolling in all apps however in apps that support it i can click the wheel and bring up the scrolling four way arrows and scroll that way. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and changing the wheel settings but to no effect. It obviously recognises the wheel since i can click it. Any ideas super users?!

I need to do this on my iphone as I can no longer access via ssh or with the iphone cable. One of the files to edit is a ssh config file which is what is not allowing ssh connections. Any ideas on apps or other methods that I could use.

    In GNOME and KDE, (and from what I hear, OS X aswell), you have a feature called multiple desktops. It allows you to have multiple screens of apps running, without having the same number of monitors. Does such a program exist for Vista? I'd like around four desktops (one for IM, one for programming, one for browsing/email and one for other apps), and at home I usually have one monitor if using my laptop outside of home, or two if I'm using it at home.

I want to inspect those files when the apps are closed in the event of a system shutdown. However, when the system comes up again I find that all temporary files have been deleted. How can I ask the system not to clear the files in /tmp/ on shutdown?

The purpose is to adjust the time in a script, when other apps from that script are not running. It is not an option to use the built-in NTP service because that makes some apps on this server fail - note, that this server is used in an industrial environment with no PCs on the network and no Windows update or similar applied.   • Localhost has just stopped working (using xampp)

    I installed Xampp to use for local development of a Drupal site. Its been working fine out of the box until now. The main Xampp localhost welcome menu loads, however my subdirectory (localhost/drupal) doesn't. It just spins in the browser for ages and nothing happens. Just a blank screen. I've tried the edit people suggest in the hosts file but that hasn't work and I'm getting no errors so not sure what to do. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?
