  • Have search engines recognise multi-lingual sites

    Hello. I have organised my site by language using the following structure: www.domain.com #spanish language version www.domain.com/en #english language version The site is of Spanish subject matter hence Spanish language takes priority at root of domain. Although the site is new at this stage I would hope visiting from google.com and google.es would return English and Spanish versions respectively. Are there any particular steps I need take to separate the two. Should I add them both as individual sites in Google's webmaster tools and also should I submit individual site maps for each 'site' or as a whole? Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I'm using JPA (with Hibernate) and Gilead in a GWT project. On the server side I have this method and I'm calling this method twice with the same "campaign".     I want to understand how hibernate execute hql query internally or in other models how hql query engine works. Please suggest some good links for same? One of reason for reading is following problem. Class Branch { //lazy loaded @joincolumn(name="company_id") Company company; } Since company is heavy object so it is lazy loaded. now i have hql query "from Branch as branch where branch.Company.id=:companyId" my concern is that if for firing above query, hql engine has to retrieve company object then its a performance hit and i would prefer to add one more property in Branch class i.e. companyId. So in this case hql query would be "from Branch as branch where branch.companyId=:companyId" If hql engine first generate sql from hql followed by firing of sql query itself, then there should be no performance issue. Please let me know if problem is not understandable.

    Hi, I am using spring and hibernate along with my different components There is date field in DB as contract_end_date as a Date , so my pojo also contains date getter setter for contract_end_date, but when i submit form to Multiaction controller it gives data bindding exception for contract_end_date. It trying to search string getter setter for contract_end_date. So is there is any solution to handle this kind of problem.   • jpa join query on a subclass

    I have the following relationships in JPA (hibernate). Object X has two subclasses, Y and Z. Object A has a manyToOne relationship to object X. (Note, this is a one-sided relationship so object X cannot see object A). Now, I want to get the max value of a column in object A, but only where the relationship is of a specific subtype, ie...Y. So, that equates to...get the max value of column1 in object A, across all instances of A where they have a relationship with Y. Is this possible? I'm a bit lost as how to query it. I was thinking of something like: String query = "SELECT MAX(a.columnName) FROM A a join a.x; Query query = super.entityManager.createQuery(query); query.execute(); However that doesn't take account of the subclass of X...so I'm a bit lost. Any help would be much appreciated.

    I have a problem with my search in Windows 8. When I search through the Modern UI style (WinF) for files, it won't return a single result from none of my drives. Searching via Windows Explorer works fine. I had the same problem in Windows 8 Consumer Preview, but it worked in Developer Preview. And I looked on the net for other users with similar problems, but I haven't found anything. Is there someone who knows what the problem might be?

I need to dynamically populate a drop down menu using data from a sql query based on an option selected in another drop down menu. So basically when the first option is selected I need to rehit the server and get the results from a query like SELECT column FROM table WHERE option = dropDownOption On top of that, I would really like to use ajax to only refresh the affected elements, however I'm really unfamiliar with ajax. I have jquery on this project and I found they have some ajax built in, but is this a good method for using it? any advice on this topic would be appreciated.

    I have a multiple module project The first module contains my hibernate xml files and data java beans and packages as har. The second module defines my DAO classes. This module has a dependancy on data java beans with in the har and is defined in pom.xml. <dependency> <groupId>myproject</groupId> <artifactId>myhar</artifactId> <version>1.0</version> <type>har</type> </dependency> The first module compiles, packages and installs fine into my local repository. The problem is when the second modules compiles it has a problem finding the packages and class defined in my har module. I get the following output from running mvn install package myproject.myhar does not exist and build fails.

(How) Can I influence when this SQL UPDATE happens? hibSession = HibernateUtil.getReadWriteSession(); tx = hibSession.beginTransaction(); User u = (User) hibSession.load(User.class, user_id); u.modify(); hibSession.update(u); tx.commit(); Edit: It seems that setting a CacheMode should have an effect, but each hibSession.update() results in an immediate SQL UPDATE, regardless which CacheMode I set.
