• Experience with protecting PHP code

  Hello, I am aware of that there are a number of code obfuscators/licensing programs for PHP. I wanted to know if anyone has actually used these and what their experience has been. Please note I do not want to know the solutions available. I want to know your experience using one of these solutions. Is it worth investing say 200$ purchasing a code obfuscator etc? I honestly would prefer something that does not have a loader etc. I know that it increases the chances of cracking, but I only want it to be a detrimental factor for them. Thank you for your time.

• Internet Explore works very slowly executing JS code

  There is a page that uses PHP to fetch search results from Google Search API and then it puts the results on the page some funny way in a circle. Code and may look crappy but seems that it works more or less fine in Firefox. When you enter a search query and click submit button or Next/Previous links, it fills the wheel with results. The problem is its work in IE. It works there very slowly and then it doesn't clear the wheel before filling in new data, but puts it over that. My friend asked me to help him with this code. Please give me a piece of advice how I can fix it. Thanks so much!

  I want to get the code coverage of my tests. So I set the settings, build an app with .gcno files and run it on simulator. It can get the coverage data successfully if there is no crash issue. But if the app crashed, I will get nothing. So how can I get the code coverage data when the app crash? In my thought, this is because it will not call __gcov_flush() method when app crash. I only add app does not run in background to my plist file, so __gcov_flush() is called only at the time I press Home button. Is there any way to call __gcov_flush() before the app crash?

• Separate one-off code paths

  I'm implementing an application with different code paths that shall be chosen once at startup and then fixed forevermore for that execution- for example, choosing D3D11 or D3D9 rendering path. Obviously I don't want to duplicate all my other code. Is run-time inheritance (no virtual inheritance) a fair solution? I don't want to waste a bunch of performance making virtual lookups when the type was fixed long ago. Not just that, but it makes me nervous that the functions can't be inlined and whether or not it affects RVO and NRVO and such. Am I just being over-concerned about this?

  Hi, due to testing and time measuring i have to write some kind of log into existing c# winforms code in Visual Studio 2010. I want to hold the changes and the work very small so my question is about replacing text in my call by counting numbers. Lets say i want to past a line like Log.WriteLine(position) many times in the code and then replace "position" with numbers starting from 1 to n in on turn. There are a few filenames in this file (Costco) that don't have .html and _files. I need to pick them out, the only issue is that it has over 2,500 filenames.   In this code snippet: use strict; use warnings; use Data::Dumper; my $r = [qw(testing this thing)]; print Dumper($r); foreach my $row (@({$r}) { print "$row\n"; $row .= 'mod'; } print Dumper($r); print Dumper(@({$r}); I figured out that the '(' after the '@' in the foreach is causing this not to loop correctly. I have no idea why this code even works as there is no ending parenthesis. What is this doing? It looks to be creating a new variable on the fly, but shouldn't 'use strict' have fired or something? Please help explain what that '@(' is doing and why it still runs without an ending parenthesis.

• Forking Public GitHub Code that is also Sold as a Complied App

  I found a public repo on GitHub that I would like to play around with. I can see myself potentially spending a lot of time writing tests for it and expanding its functionality. The code is also being sold as an app. I have no problem with this because I admire the owner's practice of sharing his source and also providing the convenience of paying for the app for users who don't want to mess with compiling it. If I was to spend time with this code as a separate fork what would prevent the owner from merging it with his master branch? Is it ethical for him to still profit off of my added functionality? Should a line be drawn somewhere?

If I comment that line in it will not compile. Am I missing something or should I not be using Visual Studio 2010 to compile C code.   I'm a person that learns best from example. Currently, I'm diving into the field of Web Development after fifteen years of developing desktop apps. I'm still getting used to all the web technologies used for developing modern web sites and everywhere I look, I see cool little UI elements and question how they're implemented. So I thought I'd ask you, the web experts...the wexperts :) What are some straight forward or creative ways you could code this grid-breaking arrow... The basic layout for this page looks like... • C struct print, decode this code?

  I am in the process of studying for a test, and I'm trying to work through some practice problems. I've been working on this a while now..but can't figure it out. Please take a look at the code fragment: union { int i; short x; unsigned short u; float f; } testout; testout.i=0xC0208000; Before I ask the question, can someone please explain to me how the above code works?? My guess is that testout.i=0xC0208000 puts either an int, short, unsigned short, or float and puts the result in that address. (?) The question is what prints out if we write printf("%d", testout.x)? I know we should expect digits....but I have no idea where they are getting the digits from....there is no output. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

• VB6 debugging- doesn't go to error handling code.

  Hi, I'm maintaining a vb6 project(ActiveX DLL). Although I didn't put any break point there, the app stopped there and alerted error dialog saying that "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method". We had error handling code but the app didn't run to error handling code. It just stopped at the line causing the error and I had to stop the application. Do you have any idea about that?   Hi, I have something like below which will get repeated many times based on the function that get called for e.g acceptfunction() { inserter["quantity"] = sdd.getfloat(quantity); inserter["prodtype"] = sdd.getstring(prodtype); : : so on } Like accept above there are 20 more functions(reject,cancel etc) which will do the similar thing.But the parameteres they insert can differ based on function called. How can I automate this kind of code.So that I dont need to write new function from scratch.Basically what I need is if i provide parametres like ("quantity",prodtype) through some text file or xml, it should generate the required function with the input parametres. Is this task can be handled through C++ tempalte Meta programming or someother code generation tool will help me to do this?
