  • Resize form based on if subform visible

    I have a form with a subform on it. If subform contains no records, it's visible property is false. In that case, I'd like the outer form to shrink so that there isn't a big empty space where the subform was. The long way to do this would be by setting the position for all the controls on the form based on whether the subform is visible. However, is there an easier way to do this (maybe with the can grow/ can shrink property)?

For the update scenario I want to do the following: if the installed version is never than the update version display an error if the installed version is older than the update version show a button with text Update if the installed version is the same as the update version show a button with text Repair I have found how to define custom UI dialogs, but if I create a dialog with all these controls (Error label, Update/Repair buttons) how can I display just the appropriate one according to the situation.

My goal is to write a SketchCast application. I want to keep this there throughout all the views so you can control the audio while navigating through the other parts of the application (multiple view/table controllers). Is there a way to create a view that stays in place like a tab bar?

  • Any way to make dialogs appear/disappear with a transition in MFC?

    For instance I have a main dialog, when I click a button a smaller dialog appears next to it. But it would be neat if the small one could somehow transition in, rather than simply appear. For instance using transparency, or zooming in, or sliding in from width=0 - full-width. Making an actual dialog do such things isn't too hard, but what about the controls within it? How might we approach this in a way that is reusable on different dialogs?

  • Word 2007 macros: is there an OnPrint event I can attach a macro to?

    I'm looking to do a formatting check on word files before they get sent to the printer and it needs to be completely transparent to the user (no extra controls, just using the standard print options available through the UI). Is there an OnPrint or BeforePrint event, or something that can be used in that respect which I could attach a macro to, the same way I can with Open, Close, or Save?   • Replace a fragment programmatically

    I have three fragments as shown in below figure. I have added all these three fragments in LinearLayout using .xml file and when my launcher activity starts I load that .xml layout using setContentView.I have some controls on fragment2. Clicking on any one loads the fragment4 programmatically using FragmentTransaction and commit method. This fragments is added to the screen but the problem is it take the whole screen area. What can be the problem?

Like this one: Sometimes I also find these controls in virtual applications (yes I like extreme minimalism =P): But most of them are irritating, confusing or just wrong, and simple sliders could be used instead, making the UI much better.     I am trying to create a program that will display a notification to the user if a Blue tooth device suddenly comes out of range from my Android device. I currently have the following code but no notification is displayed. I was wondering if it was possible I shouldn't use ACTION_ACL_DISCONNECTED because I believe the bluetooth stack would be expecting packets that state a disconnect is requested.   • I can't send gps values via the eclipse emulator control panel

    I try to send gps longitude and latitude to the android emulator with eclipse, but the values seem to never be set. Instead the onStatusChanged method of my listener is called. Edit I send those values through the emulator controls in the ddms view in eclipse. If I send data via telnet I get the correct data shown and the onLocationChanged method of my listener is changed.
