    Hi, I have an arraylist set up. I have input instuctions set up too, so that the user can enter one string, then one integer, then one string (the first name, the age, and the last name). I need to sort the arraylist by the last name.     I have the following input to a perl script and I wish to get the first occurrence of NAME="..." strings in each of the ... structures. The entire file is read into a single string and the reg exp acts on that input. However, the regex always returns the LAST occurrence of NAME="..." strings. Can anyone explain what is going on and how this can be fixed?     Hi, I have a class A which takes a reference of B in its constructor. class A { public: A(B& b); } And I have a class SubB which is a child class of B: class SubB : public B { //omitted... } In my code, I create a SubB and pass it to A: SubB subB; A a(subB); But I get this compile Error: error: ‘B’ is an inaccessible base of ‘SubB’ Can I pass a reference of SubB as B?     Hello all, I'm looking for a Win32 equivalent of the .Net Encoding.GetEncoding Method to be used in Delphi7. What I would like to achieve is to convert a Codepage ID (ie.: 28592) to a Codapage name (iso-8859-2 in this case). I've found a Win32 function called GetCPInfoEx, but that returns a long CodePage name, and I need the short one, like the ones listed on this page: (see Name column) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.text.encoding.aspx Thank you!

    There is an excellent article describing a way to embed GWT RPC payload into the host page. A key element is missing there is how to know Strong Name of RPC serialization policy at run time. Strong Name is computed at the compile time, put into the client and obfurscated. Strong name is sent to the server with RPC request as described here. What would you suggest to make this parameter available at the time of host page generation?

    Hi, I am writing a C++ program which needs to create a temporary file for its internal usage. I would like to allow concurrent executions of the program by running multiple proccesses, so the temporary file name needs to be randomized, that way each spawned process will generate a unique temporary file name for its own use. I am using rand() to generate random characters for part of the file name, so i need to initialize the random number generator's seed using srand(). What options are there for passing a good argument to srand() such that two processes will not be initialized with the same seed value? My code needs to work both on Windows and pn Linux TIA.

    I'm trying to check if json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] exists or not when in some instances json[0]['DATA']['name'] contains nothing. I can check json[0]['DATA']['name'] using if (json[0]['DATA']['name'] == '') { // DOES NOT EXIST } however if (json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] == '' || json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] == 'undefined') { // DOES NOT EXIST } returns json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA'] is null or not an object. I understand this is because the array 'name' doesn't contain anything in this case, but in other cases first_0 does exist and json[0]['DATA']['name'] does return a value.     I have a save-plots function which I call it in my final command of behavior space to export selected plots, I could create unique names for plots so they don't replace each other, for example my output file name for one of the plots is like this: DeathRates, PS true, HCHA false 100,true.csv Let FileNameDeathRates ( word "D: /Results/" "DeathRates, " "PS "PS? ", HCHA " HCHA? MPS "," CV? ".csv" ) So far is good, but I want is to have a directory with name of the experiment and export all plots of that experiment in that directory for example: Let DirName( word "D:/Results/" "PS "PS? ", HCHA " HCHA? MPS "," CV? ) Netlogo already exports plots with proper name and I just want the directory name to be different , and of course prior to the experiment the directory does not exist so the directory should be created first , I could not find a command to create a directory in netlogo without pathdir extension. Any idea on how can I do this? Thanks in advance ;)
