  • Writing a windows web service and not sure what language to use?

    So I am required to write a fairly basic Windows service and have never done so before. Of C#, C++ (the Visual Studio suite), what is the best language to develop in? I am a student, and am most familiar with OO languages such as Java.     Hi, I have just started with the ebay Finding API and Feedback API and I need to deploy a basic API implementation on GAE/J. The problems are: How do we start with the local dev environment of the ebay SDK? There is no Java tutorial for the Finding API and feedback. GAE/J + ebay APIs won't cause any complexity right?     Hi, I am wondering what this line of code mean? b = (gen_rand_uniform()>0.5)?1:0; The gren_rand_uniform() is a function to generate random 0 and 1 numbers. However I don't get the meaning for >0.5 and 1:0. I know this is supposed to be a basic question, please bear with me. Thanks!

Here's the script, that catches the changes, but doesn't execute the code within the do/done I init it like sh watch.sh and here's the script #!/bin/sh while inotifywait -m -o ./log.txt -e modify ./*.styl; do stylus -c %f done I tried having echo "hi" within the exec portion but nothing executes

    I am looking to build a widget for a site which allows users to tag images from individual frames of a video file but would prefer not to have to build a custom Flash tool. Is there an existing free library or framework which simplifies things like this in a webapplication setting? Features would also involve basic video playback functionality as well as time-driven meta-data and the ability to extract images from individual video frames. Are there existing open-source web-based tools for video manipulation other than building your own custom Flash app?

  • trouble setting node['chef-client']['interval']

    I've searched many places and haven't get found the answer to this, I suspect I'm missing something either fundamental or basic (maybe both) I'm using the chef-client::windows_service recipe and trying to set the interval and can't seem to sort it out. I've tried at the role level with: { "defaults": { "chef_client": { "interval":15 } }, "overrides":{ } } and at the node level with: { "chef_client": { "interval":25 }, "tags":[] } but the interval on the node is still 1800 (default)
