I was wondering if there was a basic tutorial to get me started on coding a FrontRow plug-in / add-on using Xcode.
I searched Google a couple of times, but I haven't found a tutorial on this subject so far.
I'm looking for any documentation or definitive information on Ableton's warp feature. I understand that it has something to do with finding transients, aligning them with an even rhythm and shifting audio samples accordingly. I'm hoping to find ways to approximate warping with more basic audio editing tools.
I understand that this is ableton's unique device, really any information about how it works would be helpful.
So...does anyone have any 411?

I'm an intermediate C developer, trying to get better. I want to make a very basic and lightweight HTTP server with its own scripting language.
Could I use something like Lua for scripting? If not, what?
I don't want to use CGI/FastCGI like Apache does for PHP in most cases, I want my server to natively support my scripting language.
This is too basic I think, but how do both of these work?
return true; // 1
and
return (true); // 2
Similar: sizeof, exit
My guess:
If return was a function, 1 would be
erroneous.
So, return should be a unary
operator that can also take in
brackets... pretty much like unary
minus: -5 and -(5), both are
okay.
Is that what it is - a unary operator?
Are there any aspects to the C++ programming language where the code is known to be slower than the equivalent C language? Obviously this would be excluding the OO features like virtual functions and vtable features etc.
I am wondering whether, when you are programming in a latency-critical area (and you aren't worried about OO features) whether you could stick with basic C++ or would C be better?
I'm using the WindowsAPICodePack's TaskDialog implementation, but it bugs me that I have to listen to click handlers on its buttons for even the more basic implementations. I'd like to convert/wrap it so that like the old MessageBox it blocks until closed and then returns a value based on what was done. Is there anything I can read for the basics on how to do this? I just have no idea where to even start, as I am admittedly not that familiar with the Win32 underpinnings.
i'm just curious. so i ask this particular question about SQLite. I haven't use this type of database extensively. but care to explain what is the basic different between SQLite and Mysql ?

Hi y'all.
I'm trying to implement a basic WebView containing a SWF file inside. The SWF file plays and apparently works fine. However I'd like to know if there's some way to retrieve an ActionScript variable from my Cocoa application.
Thanks.
I have heard the Google App Engine[java] do not support JDBC and Hibernate. Is it true?
If yes then how do we access the database in Google App Engine.
Also, is there any [basic] sample application which can help me understand how to perform CRUD operations in GAE.

I have looked online with mixed results, but is there a way to programmatically extract a zip file on the BB? Very basic my app will display different encrypted file types, and those files are delivered in a zip file. My idea was to have the user browse to the file on their SDCard, select it, and I extract what i need as a stream from the file. is this possible?
I'm recently working in a company where we use PowerBuilder extensively. The only documentation or ressources we have access to is some basic course saying things like "Do A, then B and you'll get C". I was wondering if there is some better crash courses or tutorials for this language on the net or somewhere else which actually explain something instead of simply taking me by the hand.
I am coding in Visual Basic. I am using a checkbox control. Now depending on its checked property I need to set/unset a bit column in a SQL Server database. Here's the code:
Try
conSQL.Open()
Dim cmd As New SqlCommand("update Student set send_mail = " + _
sendemailCheckBox.Checked.ToString + " where student_id = '" _
+ sidnolabel.Text + "'", conSQL)
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()
Finally
conSQL.Close()
End Try
The send_mail attribute is of bit datatype. This code is not working.
How do I go about it?
Here one more basic question asked in MS interview recently
Class A {
public virtual void Method1(){}
public void Method2() {
Method1(); }
}
class B:A { public override void Method1() { } }
Class main
{
A obk = new B(); obk.Method2(); }
now tell me which function gets called ? sorry for the typos.
I have written a small PHP framework and I want to make a website where I explain some basic features.
I want to display blocks of php code. Is there an easy to do this, preferably without JavaScript.
I want to have section kind of like displayed below:
// This function takes in a value and return it
public function getname($name){
return $name;
}
Hi, so I need the user to write a review about an article or book and send it to a DB via PHP but with some basic HTML formatting.. I mean, I have a form , when the user writes the review, the data is sent but without any kind of formatting, If the user want to write in a new line, the text is sent like plain text, I need to get also those new line breaks and simple stuff.
I know how to use PHP and DB connection, I just need to know how to get those new line breakes and stuff..
In ANSI C on Windows what is the best/easiest way to transfer data between two programs running locally without needing to write/read from a file? Data will be basic text and only one program will be sending and the other receiving. Thanks.
My controllers all extend a basic UserAwareController class, that exposes GetCurrentUser() method. I would like any call to this method to redirect to the login page if the user is not already logged in.
Can I accomplish this by throwing some exception from this method? How can I cause a redirect to happen when this exception is thrown?
This may be a silly question but I was under the impression that it was possible to use IronRuby and MS Visual Studio 2010 together to sort of build interfaces\edit XAML in one window and code ruby in the other?
Is this only possible to do with C#, Basic and C++ ?
I've browsed SO and seen some IronRuby snippets like this one:
button1.click do |sender, args|
MessageBox.show("Hello World!")
end
So it stands to reason you can create GUIs somehow, but is the visual gui creator not available for ironruby?
Hello there,
I've offered an out-of-job girl to help her study programming (with an MCSD as the ultimate goal) - and she has no progrmming knowledge. The idea is that she'll study from books and I"ll help.
Help- I need a gentle introduction to programming book, very easy, very practical, very hands-on and up to date. Optimally would be for the .Net 4.0 MS enviornment (C#,Visual Basic) but other alternaitves (Jave, Python etc.) are OK.
Is there any way of removing unused references to assemblies, in a C# project, without the help of Resharper? The MSDN documentation does outline something for Visual Basic, but I couldn't find the same dialogs for C#.
