  • SQl server 2008 permission and encryption

    i have made columns in some of the tables encrypted in sql server 2008. Now as i am a db owner i have the access to encode and decode the data using the symmetric key and certificate. But some other users have only currently datareader and datawriter rights ,and when they execute any SP referring the logic which uses the key and certificate "User does has not right on the certificate to execute". What rights / exact permission should i grant them just to solve this problem

    Hi, I'm about to start an application which will have both console and GUI interfaces. What I wan't to achieve is COMPLETE decoupling of application logic from interface. In future, I may also add web interface, and I don't want to change anything in my application. Is there a good example (perhaps some open source project) where I can learn how this should be done properly.... also I'd appreciate advices/guidelines on how to do this. Thanks

I need to use two threads in a way that one thread will run permanently while(true) and will keep track of a positioning pointer (some random value coming in form a method). This thread has a logic, if the value equals something, it should start the new thread. And if the value does not equal it should stop the other thread.     Hi all, i'm using putClientProperty("terminateEditOnFocusLost", Boolean); to make jtable end editing and clear current selected rows when it lose focus or when simply click over an other GUI component. This is very useful, but with "terminateEditOnFocusLost" there are some strange behaviours if it is used with editCellAt and changeSelection. There are also some undesiderable TableModelEvents fired for some fake table updates. So, im looking for an hack to simulate "terminateEditOnFocusLost without using it, is this possibile?
