The whole homepage is displayed. I checked, and the default route is matched. I tried assemble() on route "www-community-index" and it gives well www.domain.com/community I don't see from where comes the problem :(

• How to configure DNS so that www.example.com goes to one server, *.example.com to another

  I'm trying to set up my domain as follows, but I'm not actually sure if it's possible. I have a domain where I would like the base and www addresses to go to my static site, but others to go to my application server. For example: My domain is registered with Dreamhost, and my application is on a VPS at Webbynode. I've set up the domain in Dreamhost to use Webbynode's nameservers: ns1.dnswebby.com ns2.dnswebby.com ns3.dnswebby.com And in Webbynode I've set up a wildcard A record to point to the IP address of my VPS: * 1.2.3.4 A and this works nicely, if I go to app.example.com it resolves to my application server at Webbynode. However, what I'd like to do is have example.com and www.example.com go to my static site, hosted back at Dreamhost, whilst still having any other domain go to my app. What I've done to try and achieve this is set up these DNS "NS" entries at Webbynode, trying to get Dreamhost to resolve these domain names: (empty) ns1.dreamhost.com NS (empty) ns2.dreamhost.com NS (empty) ns3.dreamhost.com NS www ns1.dreamhost.com NS www ns2.dreamhost.com NS www ns3.dreamhost.com NS (I don't have a fixed IP address at Dreamhost so I can't just set up simple A records). However this doesn't work... does anyone have any idea if this is possible and if so how it could be done? Update: I've got this working now, as above for the domain (i.e. registered with Dreamhost, but using Webbynode's nameservers). To delegate the DNS for www.example.com to Dreamhost, I've got the following DNS entries set up: www.example.com. ns1.dreamhost.com. NS www.example.com. ns2.dreamhost.com. NS www.example.com. ns3.dreamhost.com. NS (note the full stops at the end) And to get example.com to resolve to my static site, I set up CNAME record: example.com. www.example.com. CNAME So now, example.com and www.example.com go to my static site on Dreamhost, and if they change the IP address of my shared hosting it won't affect me, and all other subdomains go to my application server. This seems to work nicely, but if anyone knows a better way to do it I'd be happy to hear it. Thanks to all who replied.

• Consuming Web Services requiring Authentication from behind Proxy server

  Hi All, I've seen a number of post about Proxy Authentication, but none that seams to address this problem. I'm building a SharePoint Web Service consuming desktop application, using Java, JAX-WS in NetBeans. I have a working prototype, that can query the server for authentication mode, successfully authenticate and retrieve a list of web site. However, if I run the same app from a network that is behind a proxy server (the proxy does not require authentication), then I'm running into trouble. The normal -dhttp.proxyHost ... settings does not seam to help any. But I have found that by creating a ProxySelector class and setting it as default, I can regain access to the authentication web service, but I still can't retrieve the list of web sites from the SharePoint server. It's almost as if the authentication I provide is going to the proxy rather than the SharePoint server. Anyone have any experience on how to make this work? • Javascript to encode cookie contents into a get or post?

  I want to pass cookie contents from one domain to another. I don't want to get involved with actual cross-domain cookies. I was thinking of reading the cookie on the domain that sets it and then sending it as an encrypted JSON object to the domain that wants to use it. Is there an accepted way of doing this and/or a toolkit that handles this sort of thing? Thanks for any help or advice, -=b

• Why does this Grails/HQL query with a JOIN return Lists of pairs of domain classes?

  I'm having trouble figuring out how to do a "join" in Groovy/Grails and the return values I get person = User.get(user.id) def latestPhotosForUser = PhotoOwner.findAll("FROM PhotoOwner AS a, PhotoStorage AS b WHERE (a.owner=:person AND a.photo = b)", [person:person], [max:3]) latestPhotosForUser isn't a list of PhotoOwners. It's a list of [PhotoOwner, PhotoStorage] pairs. Since I'm doing a PhotoOwner.findAll, I would have expected to see only PhotoOwners. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the proper behavior?

• iPhone: CPU power to do DSP/Fourier transform/frequency domain?

  I want to analyze MIC audio on an ongoing basis (not just a snipper or prerecorded sample), and display frequency graph and filter out certain aspects of the audio. Is the iPhone powerful enough for that? I suspect the answer is a yes, given the Google and iPhone voice recognition, Shazaam and other music recognition apps, and guitar tuner apps out there. However, I don't know what limitations I'll have to deal with. Anyone play around with this area?

Unfortunately I didn't find a way to store the static resources in a location outside of the webapplication which has his own advantages ( smaller WAR sizes, better optimize cookieless server, static resources served faster by a highly optimized native httpd, no need to redeploy WAR when updating static resources..).   I am building a trading portfolio management system that is responsible for production, optimization, and simulation of non-high frequency trading portfolios (dealing with 1min or 3min bars of data, not tick data). I plan on employing Amazon web services to take on the entire load of the application. I have four choices that I am considering as language. a) Java b) C++ c) C# d) Python Here is the scope of the extremes of the project scope. This isn't how it will be, maybe ever, but it's within the scope of the requirements: Weekly simulation of 10,000,000 trading systems. (Each trading system is expected to have its own data mining methods, including feature selection algorithms which are extremely computationally-expensive. Imagine 500-5000 features using wrappers. These are not run often by any means, but it's still a consideration) Real-time production of portfolio w/ 100,000 trading strategies Taking in 1 min or 3 min data from every stock/futures market around the globe (approx 100,000) Portfolio optimization of portfolios with up to 100,000 strategies. (rather intensive algorithm) Speed is a concern, but I believe that Java can handle the load. I just want to make sure that Java CAN handle the above requirements comfortably. I don't want to do the project in C++, but I will if it's required. The reason C# is on there is because I thought it was a good alternative to Java, even though I don't like Windows at all and would prefer Java if all things are the same. Python - I've read somethings on PyPy and pyscho that claim python can be optimized with JIT compiling to run at near C-like speeds.... That's pretty much the only reason it is on this list, besides that fact that Python is a great language and would probably be the most enjoyable language to code in, which is not a factor at all for this project, but a perk. To sum up: - real time production - weekly simulations of a large number of systems - weekly/monthly optimizations of portfolios - large numbers of connections to collect data from There is no dealing with millisecond or even second based trades. The only consideration is if Java can possibly deal with this kind of load when spread out of a necessary amount of EC2 servers. Thank you guys so much for your wisdom.

• In Fluent NHibernate, how would I map the following domain models?

  I have a user class that looks something like this public class User { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual long ValueA { get; set; } public virtual int? ValueB { get; set; } } ValueA is automatically assigned by the system. It is used in a lookup that would map to UserClass. However, if a value for ValueB exists, then it would do the lookup for UserClass in a different way. Right now the way I handle it is to get the User and then perform a separate lookup each time. return user.ValueB.HasValue ? Find(user.ValueB.Value) : Find(user.ValueA); Is there any way to make Fluent NHibernate do this for me so I can have UserClass as a property on the User class instead of having to do the lookup separately? I was thinking of the ComponentMap but I'm not sure how to make it account for the two possible lookup values.

  Hi, I have a problem with a client, who cannot log in to our system. We have PHP-based B2B system, which uses cookies to store session-id. The client cannot log in and is redirected to the login page, without any error message. He claims he have cookies enabled in his Firefox. Also, if he had cookies disabled, my javascript would detect this and would show him an red, very descriptive error info. He does not seen anything like this. What else could have same effect on sessions like disabled cookies in browser? Are there any proxies which filters cookies? Any AV software, etc? What to look for? Our login form works for any other user without problems.

It seemed like there wasn't an easy way to do that.] I have a application at application.com. A customer has app.customer.com pointed at my site on Heroku, and I have everything set up so that it renders a specific version of app correctly. The issue is that I want a user at app.customer.com to be able to login. I believe authlogic is now setting the cookie on application.com, so while it verifies the credentials, no session on customer.com is ever created.

  I need to connect to drupal on a website that I'm programming on a hostgator account. The website that I'm working on currently receives a lot of traffic, and I would like to make sure that it is fully functional before I launch the new website. The old website was programmed with .asp which hostgator doesn't support, and the old webhost doesn't support drupal or .php which are integral to the new web design. Drupal 6 has been freshly installed on my website, but when I try to login, it redirects me to http://gator83.hostgator.com/?q=node&destination=node instead of the drupal control panel.
