• IIS NLB Web Farm to front Single Tomcat Instance

  I've got a single Tomcat 6 server that hosts a JSP app. We just spun up a new IIS 7.5 web farm to host our other internal apps. Currently the machine that hosts Tomcat is also running IIS 7 with the ISAPI filter loaded to provide front-end handling for the JSP app. I'd like to move the IIS portion to the web farm to consolidate our IIS presence and let the Tomcat server just serve and run Java and Tomcat. Has anyone done this, is it even possible while ensuring session state is properly maintained? I had it up and running using the IIS Tomcat Connector http://tomcatiis.riaforge.org/ but after a while the communication between the boxes slowed and pages would not load. In addition it seemed like some of our authentication tickets were timing out. Thanks for any ideas or reference material!

• Domain name is forwarding to my localhost, no idea why

  On my local development machine, I have a WAMP setup (Windows Vista Home Premium, Apache 2, MySQL and PHP 5). One of my projects is rehash.dustinfineout.com, which may be related to the problem... For some reason, when I try to visit http://www.rehash.com in a browser, it forwards automatically to 127.0.0.1 loopback/localhost. I discovered this entirely accidentally. I have already looked at the http.conf and extra/httpd-vhosts.conf Apache configuration files and these are not causing it. I also checked the windows hosts file but that had no entries in it either (C:/WINDOWS/System32/drivers/etc/hosts - maybe there is another location I need to check). Any ideas? Just to clarify, rehash.com is NOT my domain.

• Postfix removing domain from user names before passing to Dovecot for IMAP authentication

  In IMAP authentication with Dovecot, Postfix is stripping the domain name from virtual users who share a name with a local user, causing them to fail authentication. Virtual users without local accounts don't have this problem. How can I prevent this? Failing an answer, how can I debug Postfix to see what's going on? I've turned on every debugging option I can get, and I'm not seeing anything helpful in the logs.

• Apache Alias subfolder and starting with dot

  I have a multi purpose server running ArchLinux that currently serves multiple virtual hosts from /var/www/domains/EXAMPLE.COM/html /var/www/domains/EXAMPLE2.COM/html I deploy those websites (mostly using Kohana framework) using a Jenkins job by checking out the project, removes the .git folder and ssh-copy the tar.gz to /var/www/domains/ on the server and untars it. Since I don't want to have to re-install phpMyAdmin after each deploy, I decided to use an alias. I would like the alias to be something like /.tools/phpMyAdmin/ so I could have more "tools" later if I wanted to. • Sonicwall Enhanced With One-To-One NAT, Firewall Blocking Everything

  Hello, just migrated from a Sonicwall TZ180 (Standard) to a Sonicwall TZ200 (Enhanced). Everything is working except the firewall rules are blocking everything. All hosts are online, and being assigned correct ip addresses. I can browse the internet on the hosts. I am using one-to-one NAT translating public ip addresses to private. 64.87.28.98 -> 192.168.1.2 64.87.28.99 -> 192.168.1.3 etc First order of business is to get ping working. My rule is in the new firewall is (FROM WAN to LAN): SOURCE DESTINATION SERVICE ACTION USERS ANY 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.6 PING ALLOW ALL This should be working, but not. I even tried changing the destination to the public ip addresses, but still no luck. SOURCE DESTINATION SERVICE ACTION USERS ANY 64.87.28.98-64.87.28.106 PING ALLOW ALL Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

• Possible to get OpenDNS to dereference Host on VPN?

  I recently changed ISPs for my home internet. I am now having some trouble getting back into the corporate network from home over the VPN. I have figured out the OpenDNS is resolving the Hosts on the VPN incorrectly when I am using TCP/IP. When I browse to one of the hosts on corporate network, i.e. \host1, from the file manager this succeeds. However, when I ping the host, i.e. ping host1, the IP address is resolving to the OpenDNS name server instead of the actual Host IP address. Does anyone know how to make this work? On a hunch, I turned off type correction. But, this did not help.

  This is my first experience with ejabberd. Spare me if I miss anything. I have installed ejabberd server on ubuntu 12.04 AMI on Amazon EC2. I have successfully installed the server, added the admin user and host in the config file and opened up reqd ports (5222, 5223, 5269, 5280). Now I tried to login the web admin interface using the admin user id and password. I could log in, BUT I could only see one section, Virtual Hosts. No Control Lists, Access rules, Nodes and Statistics Menu items on the left. Also, when I click Virtual Hosts Menu item, the page that comes up does not show anything. Here are the screenshots

  I'm attempting to set up NFS file sharing and keep getting the error mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting 192.168.1.110:/myshared Here is the exact command I'm using to mount: sudo mount -o nolock 192.168.1.110:/myshared /home/emiller/MyShared I have set 'Enabled NFS' in DSM and set NFS priviledges in the the Shares section of the control panel. Here is the /etc/exports entry from the NAS: volume1/myshared 192.168.1.*(rw,sync,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure_locks,anonuid=0,anongid=0) I read some things about the hosts.allow and hosts.deny but it seems like if they are empty they aren't used for anything. I can see the share when I run ... showmount -e 192.168.1.110 Any help would be appreciated in this matter.

• Why do I have to manually 'Restart Management Network' on vSphere 5 host after reboot to get networking available?

  I've got a couple of vSphere 5.0 hosts in a small lab environment here and I've noticed a strange behaviour. When on of the hosts gets rebooted, it is unresponsive to the network until I log into the ESX console, Press F2 to customize and select Restart management network. Once this is done, the networking works perfectly as expected. Each host has two NICs which are trunked together using Etherchannel to a Cisco 3750. The link is also a .1q VLAN trunk and the management network is configured on VLAN121 with the VM traffic configured on VLAN118. Why would the host be completely dead to the world until I physically kick it?   I have a Windows Server 2003 system on which passwordless access to local UNC paths is possible using the server's unqualified hostname or its IP address, but not via its FQDN -- even when the hosts file is used to map that FQDN directly to 127.0.0.1. That is: \\127.0.0.1\ - passwordless \\myhost\ - passwordless \\myhost.mydomain.com\ - brings up an authentication dialog Unfortunately, I have a local application trying to resolve UNC paths including the host's FQDN. I've tried resolving myhost.mydomain.com to 127.0.0.1 in both hosts and lmhosts, and calling ping myhost.mydomain.com at the command prompt gives the appearance that this resolution has taken effect; even so, attempting to open \\myhost.mydomain.com\ from Windows Explorer brings up a password prompt, while \\127.0.0.1\ does not. The system is using an OpenDirectory server (Apple's Kerberos+LDAP directory service) for authentication.

• Ping Unknown Host on CentOS at EC2

  Weird problem. We have a collection of servers running CentOS 5 on EC2. The setup includes two DNS servers and two LDAP servers. DNS has a CNAME pointing at the primary LDAP server. One machine (and only one machine) is giving me problems. I can ssh into the server using LDAP authentication. But once I'm on the machine, ping won't resolve the LDAP host even though DNS seems to work fine. • Removing phantom applications from Application Pools in IIS7

  I have an application in one of my application pools that has a virtual path of '/Site/login.aspx'. I want to remove it but it no longer exists on my computer and it's causing me issues setting up AppFabric. I understand that you can remove these phantom applications by recreating the application in IIS and then hitting Remove. That will get rid of the application from the pool but in this case I can't recreate the application due to the /login.aspx in the virtual path Any ideas how I remove this erroneous entry? Thanks
