I know how to setup multiple start pages in google chrome but I want one of those pages to be its default new tab page which shows the thumbnails for 9 most visited pages. Can this be done in google chrome?

How can I reset the outlook 2010 default options that are accessed via the orange Ribbon File Tab Options (left navi bar)?
Searching online gives many step-by-stepp instruction in creating an Outlook Profile, which lets you add email accounts, data files etc. but does not seem to reset the Outlook options.
Another popluar and more acucrate search result goes along this line https://kb.wisc.edu/wiscmail/page.php?id=9357 but it does not apply to Outlook 2010.
I've got Win2008 R2 64bit installed on Dell R410 server with 8GB of RAM. Dell Open Manage shows 8GB total and 4GB available for use, In Windows Control Panel, System i see 64bit and 8GB of RAM while in Windows Task Manager at Performance tab there is 4GB of memory available.
Dell support has made some checks and told me that if BIOS shows 8Gb of RAM and indeed BIOS does then it's operational system issue. Tried to search online for resolution but none found.
Please help, thanks
When I press Alt-Print Screen I get a screenshot of the entire VM+window frame taken in my host-OS. What I want is a screenshot of the selected application running in the VM.
My host OS is win7-64 enterprise. The VM is running XP Pro.
the built in command line ftp client in server 2008 does not support passive mode
so I've used these commands to allow outbound ftp (it stalls without this)
1) Open port 21 on the firewall
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="FTP (no SSL)" action=allow protocol=TCP dir=in localport=21
2) Activate firewall application filter for FTP (aka Stateful FTP) that will dynamically open ports for data connections
netsh advfirewall set global StatefulFtp enable
however in server 2008 r2, these commands seem to work, but it does not affect the outbound ftp, it stalls
I do not want to use an alt client
I found 3 numbers for the Total Physical Memory:
In the Task Manager under the Performance tab: 1978 MB
In Computer Properties: 2 GB
And running wmic computersystem get TotalPhysicalMemory /format:list in the command line: 2074554368 Bites
Number 1 matches Number 3 except Number 1 is rounded. When I convert Number 3 to GB 2074554368 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 I don't quite get 2 GB. I get 1.93207932 GB.
Why does Number 1 and Number 3 not match Number 2?
user@laptop:~$ locate file.ext | xargs vim -p
Vim: Warning: Input is not from a terminal

After finding files and modifying them in vim I want to save them and continue to work in unix console but I can't do that.
After vim close console just halts. No activity on any keypress. The only workaround is to close console tab and create a new one.
How can I solve this problem?
I want to use massren renamer in vim in order to rename files within the texteditor.
First, I used this command within Vim to set Vim as default editor for massren
:! c:\tools\massren_renamer\massren.exe --config editor "C:\Progra~2\Vim\vim74\gvim.exe --remote-silent-tab"
Then I tried to change a number of text files with this command within Vim:
:%! c:\tools\massren_renamer\massren.exe d:\t*.txt
but the list of files doesn't open at all in Vim.
What did I wrong?
Kindly give me the full path of regedit from where I can disable the windows notification. For example if I disable the ctrl+alt+del from regedit, after disabling windows sends me the notification that Task manager have been disable by your administrator. I don't need these type of notification. Kindly guide me.
I was given these four files to access the office's vpn server. I am on ubuntu 12.04, and am unsure how to began using these.
I tried using the vpn connection tab under the network connections, but my files didn't specify a username after importing and it forced to me to save one, so attempting to connect to it didn't yield any results.
What am I supposed to do with these four files to connect to the vpn?
I find myself constantly typing (using tab, of course) absurd paths like
cd path/to/the/thing\ that\ I\ need/python/proj/eraseme
Aside from doing an ln -s (or some other type of ln?), is there any other way to get around faster? Also, if the solution is to use ln, is there some standard way/place to put the links so a not to clutter my ~ directory?
I'm not asking for shortcuts only: any solution that helps with the problem of "how to get around" would help.
My firefox has begun to hang when/after downloading files generally, but today I got a specific error:
chrome://global/content/bindings/general.xml:0
This error came up in the Page Info windoa, Media tab, trying to download an image from a site and after a pause of a minute or so.
Any suggestions?
I have a few Window XP clients that are part of a domain, when trying to set the permissions on the security tab and pressing location to search the AD for users it only presents the local machine...
So I follow this path
Right click folder Properties Security Add
in the locations field where I would normally see the windows domain, I am only seeing the local machine name???
So only users that have a local account can be added to the folders permissions...
Any tips would be appreciated
Due to memory problems I closed Firefox whilst the Group My Tabs (Ctrl+e) feature was displaying the multiple tab groups. After 20 minutes the process still hadn't finished so killall firefoxed it.
When I restart Firefox, there is a Javascript process called tabview.js that hangs unless I click Stop at the warning screen. If I do hit Stop then I can no longer open the tabview, so I can't get to any of the tabs except in the subgroup I was last looking at.
Any suggestions?
I remember with Windows XP, minimize used to be like alt m - n or something.
In Windows 7, it is Windows - Down.
The problem with that though is that you have to use both hands (the Window button is too far away from the directional buttons), which is kind of annoying because generally, one of my hands is on the mouse.
Is there any other keyboard to minimize a window besides Windows - Down in Windows 7?
This is my first question to "superuser", hope you guys help me.
I have Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise installed in my system, by mistake I clicked the "Compress disk" of my C drive.
Now when I am restarting, I met a message at start up that "BootMGR is compressed, Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart"
Its been 2 days I am searching every where to solve the problem, but all I found only for Vista and windows 7 only.
Can any one help?
I am using two monitors( one from laptop and the other one). In dual monitor mode when I minimize the windows, sometimes they do not show in task bar and just disappear. so I have to use ALT+TAB to move between them.
why it happens?
I have a USB stick with a Fedora 11 live environment on it.
It's booting fine on 3 PCs where I've tried it.
But I can't get it to boot on a Mac (Intel). When pressing the alt key (or command key, I don't remember which one) during startup I can only choose the "Macintosh HD" and the USB stick doesn't appear.
I have installed InterBase on a Windows Server 2008, added a database through IBConsole and I'm trying to set up a connection to it from Delphi XE. I've clicked on the DataExplorer tab and right clicked "INTERBASE/Add New Connection". This is where I am having trouble setting it up correctly. Anyone know this stuff?
I'm waaaay out of my comfort zone here but I'm helping some people out and I'm trying to get this to work myself so that I hopefully can fix the problems they are having.
I have a file at some/long/path/to/file/myfiel.txt.
I want to rename it to some/long/path/to/file/myfile.txt.
Currently I do it by
mv some/long/path/to/file/myfiel.txt some/long/path/to/file/myfile.txt
, but typing the path twice isn't terribly effective (even with tab completion).
How can I do this faster? (I think I can write a function to change the filename segment only, but that's plan B).
Hello
I am using ubuntu 10.04. Yesterday i shut down my system in a proper working state. And this morning when i started my system i got this problem.

I am constantly troubled by various gnome and linux shortcuts propagating through while I'm in remote desktop on ubuntu.
Some of it I know I can disable in gnome control panel, but I'm also troubled by the stuff like Ctrl-Alt-F keys (which I do not thinks is gnome)
Is there any way to disable all of these shortcuts, preferably only while the application has focus/is running?
