I have 4 years of data in Analytics with over 20 million pageviews for the entire site. No goals have ever been set up, and while the site is an ecommerce site, no ecommerce features in Google Analytics have ever been taken advantage of. So I have no way to determine what the actual value of a page is. I've been tasked with determining if a particular page on the site is worth keeping around. How might I use all standard data (pageviews, bounce rate, time on page, time on site, etc.) to help determine the value of this page? I really appreciate any help I can get!

SEO: Firefox addon/plugin to see Google results with a position number?

Do you know a Firefox addon that adds postion number to Google/Yahoo results. When I do SEO report for www.some-site.com by keyphrase "some-keyphrase" I usually show results in blocks of 100 results per page. Then uisng browser find box I search for "some-site.com", if found in page I see its position, but I have to count by hand the number of results before (or after) it to know the exact position number. It would be handful a simple addon that adds a number positioning before each result like: 1. Result blah blah Snippet... url 2. Result blah blah Snippet... url etc.

I have a service in a very big city, and to make my ads stand out, I display the name of the neighborhood in the display URL, although the actual URL is always the same page with my services for any neighborhood. Will google decrease my rating for this? In a different note, you can also express your ideas about if it's sensible to do this or not, ie, the client might feel I'm deceiving them. Although this will be subjective, unless there is some scientific study. Thank you!

I have a website which I am using google analytics to track visitors and track our banner campaigns. We're are promoting 'Purchase Ticket' buttons on our website which push visitors to a third party website who sell and distribute our tickets. The url on all the 'Purchase Ticket' buttons are the same through out the site... Example: http://ticketmaestro.com/events/my-event-2012 In the analytic control panel, is it possible so set something up, where I create a path-to-destination using the above example url? ...and then after this is setup: I want to be able to monitor the path visitors are taking from when they reach the site - to when they click the 'Purchase Ticket' button. Google Analytics - how to track clicks on a screen?

Can I track the click of every link, button, dropdown select, etc. on a screen and have it be tracked in Google Analytics? I want to create a page and collect data on which widget the users use most. What about AJAX stuff? What if you're using jQuery or Mootools...can you get the functions to register a fake URL with GA based on user interaction? I use to do this with Flash. Everytime you click a button, it can initiate a fake URL request. I would make urls such as ".../customize/eyes/" or ".../customize/nose", etc. Just wondering if I can do that with Javascript on the page. I've also posted at StackOverflow.

A client shared access with me to their Google Analytics account. I created a custom report which shows up under Custom Reporting for me. I assumed they would also see this report since it was in their account but they sent me a screen shot showing there's no custom report listed. I have already sent them the shortcut link to the custom report configuration. This seems to be the way to share custom reports along with dashboards in GA now. Do custom reports only appear to the accounts (email) that created them? I would think everyone who had access to the account would see the custom report.

How long before Google will update search terms matching my website?

I have a website which title I changed about a month ago. The website is a classifieds website which is dynamic, using php. The title changed from "Free classifieds" to "buy and sell free classifieds". The strange part is that after about two weeks the title showed in google search results changed to the new title, BUT when I searched for "buy and sell free classifieds" my website didn't show up at all. I mean I have gone through over 30 pages of search results and my site isn't listed. However, searching for "free classifieds" still display my website at the same position it was before the title change. Any reason for this? How patient should I be? FYI the website has a sitemap submitted and updated, good meta tags and is W3 valid etc etc, so that is not the problem here. Thanks

External link tracking when opening the link in a new window in Google Analytics?

OK, so this seems like a really simply problem, but I have yet to find a solution that accomplishes the following: Opens the link in a new window Tracks the event in GA (obviously) Doesn't trigger pop-up blockers (uses target="_blank" instead of window.open) Most of the code I've seen, including Google's, doesn't take into account the case of opening in a new window - they just window location.href. Even GAAddons (http://gaaddons.com/), which charges for commercial use, doesn't seem to work for me. Perhaps, I'm missing something simple - I'd be relieved if so and would thank profusely whoever points it out to me! If no one is able to provide an example, I'll post some of the test cases I've created to illustrate the problem. Thanks.

My company is a broker in the real estate industry. As such, we send a lot of our listings to sites like Trulia.com and Zillow.com, among others. These sites direct leads to our realtors, and provide us with reports every month detailing the activity our listings have had on their site-- links back to our website, emails generated, etc. Our Marketing and Advertising departments want to take that information and enter it into a system to keep track of everything in one place, for the purpose of producing comparison reports. I cannot find any externally available product that provides this functionality. I would sincerely like to avoid writing this tool myself. Does anyone know of a tool that could do this? In short, an ideal system would: Imports Google Analytics data via API Imports real estate listing site data via CSV import / manual entry Provides comparison reports based on data Does anyone know of anything pre-made that can do this?

A document was shared with me, enabling me to edit it. However, whenever I open it, it only lets me view it, and anytime I try to open the "Open with Google Docs" tab, it acts as if I never pressed it, same as if I try to download it. Same with whenever I try to create a new document. I'll click "Create" and then "Document" and it won't be registered. I have a Google Drive spreadsheet with a single column that holds string values (Twitter screen names) such as "user1", "user1", "UserX", and I would like to count those values so that I can easily craft a bar chart out of it. So the result should be value occurrence ----------------------- user1 2 UserX 1 ... .... Please note, I only want to look for whole words, and not part words. EG, the words 'on' and 'one' appears in the word 'money' - I would not count this (eg, only the word money is counted). Hope that is clear enough. What formula should I use?

I currently have no phone number; I can make outgoing calls via the widget in gmail, but I cannot receive calls (as far as I know). I know that you can set up a google voice number to forward to google chat, and this is exactly what I want. The problem is, I can't get a google voice number in the first place, because it first requires that I have an existing phone number, even if I wouldn't use it. So, it is possible to skip providing an existing phone number, and just get a google voice number that forwards to google chat? Alternatively, is there any free phone service that can be used without a phone and lets you receive calls from any number? Do the search requests made by the users influence the Google crawlers "attraction" by this keyword? Let's say Google has some hits on a specific keyword in the search index. And now I search for exactly this keyword. Will the Google crawlers react to the search and keep looking more intense for pages that could match this keyword? A reason why this could be important: Privacy when searching yourself. Assume you just want to know how much Google (and thus other people) can find out about you. If now any (statistical) additional search for your name trigger the crawlers even one step harder to find even more about you, it would have the negative effect that you would actually be found easier in the future, even though you had the intention and hope to find out how few Google finds about you. It's a bit like the dillema in quantum mechanis: Does observing the system automatically change the system?

Pinned program on the taskbar is not grouping in Windows 7 Ultimate

Previously, I had pinned Google Chrome Dev to the taskbar. Being that it was unstable and crashed frequently, I decided to uninstall it. Before uninstalling, however, I did not un-pin its icon from the taskbar. Afterward, I installed Google Chrome Stable and launched it from the old pinned icon. This resulted in a new icon appearing in the taskbar. I figured this happened because the icon was originally for the Dev build, so I unpinned the icon and re-pinned Google Chrome. I launch Google Chrome again, but I still get a new icon! Re-pinning the icon should have fixed it, no? Why aren't my Google Chrome windows grouping together?
