  I'm getting an odd error from my composite canvas component: An ActionScript error has occurred: Error: null at mx.core::Container/initialize()[C:\autobuild\galaga\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\core\Container.as:2560] at -REMOVED THIS FOR STACK OVERFLOW-.view::EditableCanvas/initialize()[.../view/EditableCanvas .... It seems to be related to the fact that my composite component has a child and I'm trying to add one in the place I'm using the component. So how can I do this correctly? • Log4net RollingFileAppender doesn't roll over anymore after a couple of weeks

  Hello, I'm using log4net (v1.2.9.0) in a web project. Everything works like a charm, but after a couple of weeks the RollingFileAppender stops to roll over. Instead every log message is appended to the same file which therefore has a giant size by now.   Hi, this is a pretty basic question but I'm not entirely clear how to do this. I am trying to use a third-party service that has RESTful service. The service is called Postful. But I'm not clear what exactly to do? I've looked at ActiveResource (http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActiveResource/Base.html) and rest-client, but I'm still not clear exactly what steps, code, and files to create. http://www.postful.com/service/mail is one of the services (details found http://www.postful.com/developer/guide#rest ), but to upload an image I have to post the following (but I'm not sure how I actually do this?).   Hey folks, I am stuck with something quite simple but really annoying: I have an xml file with one node, where the content includes line breaks and whitspaces. Sadly I can't change the xml. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <ProductFeed> ACME Ltd. Fooproduct Foo Root :: Bar Category I get to the node and can read from it without trouble: url = "http://feeds.somefeed/feed.xml.gz" @source = open((url), :http_basic_authentication=>["USER", "PW"]) @gz = Zlib::GzipReader.new(@source) @result = @gz.read @doc = Nokogiri::XML(@result) @doc.xpath("/ProductFeed/Vendors/Vendor").each do |manuf| vendor = manuf.css("Name").first.text manuf.xpath("//child::Product").each do |product| product_name = product.css("Name").text foocat = product.css("Category").text puts "#{vendor} ---- #{product_name} ---- #{foocat} " end end This results in: ACME Ltd. ---- Fooproduct ---- Foo Root :: Bar Category Obviously there are line breaks and tab stops or spaces in the string returned by product.css("Category").text. Does anyone know how to strip the result from linebreaks and taps or spaces right here? Error I get null object reference and coercion of value, because I'm not passing to 'timer' properly. I don't want to say my variable's a number, I want to say it has a number value.   In my XML schema definition, I'm trying to restrict the value of an attribute to be an integer between 0 and 100. With reference to the sample schema below, I want attribute 'attr' on element 'root' to have this restriction. To achieve this I define a simpleType 'Percentage' and set this as the 'type' of 'attr'. • Why does a simple ApplicationSetting PropertyBinding for a Form does not work in C#?

  My question involves this simple walkthrough shown in the article Preserve Size and Location of Windows Forms – Part I by Dennis Wallentin. This approach works 100% fine when using VB.NET. When using the same steps in C#, however, the settings within the Settings tab of the application's properties looks correct, and the app.config file looks right, but the values are not saved when you run it. Does the mistake is around pdf stream and endstream charset encoding? Does pdf content between stream and endStream need to be manipulate in some others way?

I simply try to render a js.erb template to an Ajax request for the following action (in publications_controller.rb): def get_pubmed_data entry = Bio::PubMed.query(params[:pmid])# searches PubMed and get entry @publication = Bio::MEDLINE.new(entry) # creates Bio::MEDLINE object from entry text flash[:warning] = "No publication found."if @publication.title.blank? and @publication.authors.blank? and @publication.journal.blank? respond_to do |format| format.js end end Currently, my get_pubmed_data.js.erb template is simply alert('<%= @publication.title %>') The server is responding with the following alert('Evidence for a herpes simplex virus-specific factor controlling the transcription of deoxypyrimidine kinase.') which is perfectly fine except that nothing happen in the browser, probably because the content-type of the response is 'text/html' instead of 'text/javascript' as shown by the response header partially reproduced here: Status 200 Keep-Alive timeout=5, max=100 Connection Keep-Alive Transfer-Encoding chunked Content-Type text/html; charset=utf-8 Is this a bug or am I missing something? I had successful run GWT sample http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/doc/latest/tutorial/create.html using Personal GlassFish v3 Prelude Domain, by 1) Copy generated source code from StockWatcher to C:\Projects\StockWatcherNetbeans\src\java\com\google\ 2) Modify C:\Projects\StockWatcherNetbeans\nbproject\gwt.properties gwt.module=com.google.gwt.stockwatcher.StockWatcher 3) Select Personal GlassFish v3 Prelude Domain, and run. All works fine! Now, I try to select Google App Engine server, and run. However, I get the error "There is no appengine web project opened!" I check... There is file called C:\Projects\StockWatcherNetbeans\war\WEB-INF\appengine-web.xml with content <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <appengine-web-app xmlns="http://appengine.google.com/ns/1.0" xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xsi:schemaLocation='http://kenai.com/projects/nbappengine/downloads/download/schema/appengine-web.xsd appengine-web.xsd'> <application>StockWatcherNetbeans</application> <version>1</version> </appengine-web-app> I am using NetBeans 6.7.1 GWT4NB (GWT Plugin for NetBeans) 2.6.12 Google App Engine plugin for NetBeans from http://kenai.com/downloads/nbappengine/1.0_NetBeans671/updates.xml Anything I had missed out?   Hi, My current project involves lexing and parsing script code, and as such I'm using fslex and fsyacc. Fslex LexBuffers can come in either LexBuffer<char> and LexBuffer<byte> varieties, and I'd like to have the option to use both. In order to user both, I need a lexeme function of type ^buf - string. Thus far, my attempts at specialization have looked like: let inline lexeme (lexbuf: ^buf) : ^buf -> string where ^buf : (member Lexeme: char array) = new System.String(lexbuf.Lexeme) let inline lexeme (lexbuf: ^buf) : ^buf -> string where ^buf : (member Lexeme: byte array) = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetString(lexbuf.Lexeme) I'm getting a type error stating that the function body should be of type ^buf -> string, but the inferred type is just string. Clearly, I'm doing something (majorly?) wrong. Is what I'm attempting even possible in F#? If so, can someone point me to the proper path? Thanks!

• Objective-C and NSURL: where am I supposed to declare receivedData?

  I have a two classes, a controller called "AppController" and a class called "URLDelegate" that encapsulates the sample NSURL code from Apple's URL Loading System Programming Guide. The guide repeatedly mentions declaring the receivedData instance variable "elsewhere." I assume this means outside of the URLDelagate class, because if I declare it in the URLDelegate class, my controller class can't "see" the data that has been downloaded. I know that data is received, because in my connectionDidFinishLoading function, I have NSLog display the results: NSLog(@"Succeeded! Received %d bytes of data",[receivedData length]); receivedText=[[NSString alloc] initWithData:receivedData encoding: NSASCIIStringEncoding]; NSLog(@"receivedText=%@",receivedText); So I'm a bit stumped with the following questions: Where should I declare receivedData? My controller class? A third class? Can I just declare it like any normal NSMutableData variable? How do I give my URLDelegate class "access" to this variable? E.g., if I declare receivedData in my AppController class, wouldn't I have to instantiate AppController within URLDelegate? But how would this possible if it's the AppController class which is instantiating the URLDelegate class in the first place? Especially with regard to the last question, I feel like I must be overlooking something blindingly obvious and fundamental. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
