• Someone used my postfix smtp (port 25) to send spam mails to me

  This week, someone started to send spam-mails through my postfix-smtp access (I verified by logging in through telnet from an arbitrary pc and sending mails with any ids myself) on my server, with recipient and target being [email protected]. Since I have a catchall and mail-fowarding to my google account, I received all those (many) mails. After a lot of configuration (I lost track of what change did what, going through dozends of topics here and over the net) that hole seems fixed. Still, what hapened? Does port 25 need to be open and accepting for my catchall to work? What configuration did I do wrong? I remember the first thing I changed (that had an effect) was the inet_interface setting in main.cf, only later to find out that if this does not say "all", my mail to mydomain.com does not get forwarded any more.

• Separate 2 networks with 1 Windows Server

  The situation is: I have 1 router 192.168.1.1, 1 switch, 1 windows server and a basic LAN of devices accessing it. I need to split into 2 separate LANs with full Internet access each, but isolated from each other. Given that, the server is a Windows Server 2008 R2 with 2 NICs: NIC1: 192.168.1.2 NIC2: 192.168.2.2 The router has no dhcp configuration. Please, can anyone explain gracefully, step by step, what do I need to do? What would be the 2 NICs full configuration? What services do I need to install? I don't want devices on either network to see devices on the other network, they must be completely separate. I guess I'm missing the routing procedure step, but I have no idea how is that done. For example: tell the server that devices with gateway 192.168.2.2 must send traffic for internet to 192.168.1.1 router. Thanks in advance.

• How to tell Java SAX Parser to ignore invalid character references?

  When trying to parse incorrect XML with a character reference such as &#x1, Java's SAX Parser dies a horrible death with a fatal error such as org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Character reference "&#x1" is an invalid XML character. Is there any way around this? Will I have to clean up the XML file before I hand it off to the SAX Parser? If so, is there an elegant way of going about this?

• Serializing Class Derived from Generic Collection yet Deserializing the Generic Collection

[Serializable] public class Collectable<T> : List<T>, IDisposable { public Collectable() { } public void Dispose() { } } And an Item that uses it is defined.. [Serializable] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlRoot("Titles")] public partial class Titles : Collectable<Title> { } The problem is when I call the method, it expects "Collectable" to be the XmlRoot, but the XmlRoot is "Titles" (all of object Title). I have several classes that are collected in .xml files like this, but it seems pointless to rewrite the basic methods for loading each up when the generic accessors do it - but how can I enforce the proper root name for each file without hard coding methods for each one? The [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlRoot] seems to be ignored. When called like this... var titles = Repository.List<Models.Title>(); I get the exception <Titlesxmlns=''> was not expected. • Strange Flash AS3 xml Socket behavior

  I have a problem which I can't understand. To understand it I wrote a socket client on AS3 and a server on python/twisted, you can see the code of both applications below. Let's launch two clients at the same time, arrange them so that you can see both windows and press connection button in both windows. Then press and hold any button. What I'm expecting: Client with pressed button sends a message "some data" to the server, then the server sends this message to all the clients(including the original sender) . Then each client moves right the button 'connectButton' and prints a message to the log with time in the following format: "min:secs:milliseconds". What is going wrong: The motion is smooth in the client that sends the message, but in all other clients the motion is jerky. This happens because messages to those clients arrive later than to the original sending client. And if we have three clients (let's name them A,B,C) and we send a message from A, the sending time log of B and C will be the same. Why other clients recieve this messages later than the original sender? By the way, on ubuntu 10.04/chrome all the motion is smooth.   I want to get data from mysql database with the help of DataImportHandler so i can create indexes. Now I've configured my Solr instance so that it works on Tomcat (the example admin page), but if I try to change the sorlconfig.xml file i'll get the error message. I'm working with Solr 3.6 So my configuration is: In solrconfig.xml i added: <dataDir>${solr.data.dir:/usr/share/tomcat7/solr2}</dataDir> to specify my working directory and then <requestHandler name="/dataimport" class="org.apache.solr.handler.dataimport.DataImportHandler"> <lst name="defaults"> <str name="config">/usr/share/tomcat7/solr2/conf/data-config.xml</str> </lst> </requestHandler> to specify new request handler. Theese two are my lib directives for DIH.   I am trying to pxe-boot a machine (client), and in the process I am trying to setup a tftp server that this machine can boot off. On the server, which runs Ubuntu 10.10, I have setup dhcp, dns, nfs, and tftp-hpa servers. All the servers/deamons start fine. I tested the tftp server by using a tftp client and downloading a file that the server directory hosts.   I would like to use IntelliJ IDEA for development of JBoss Seam project. seam-gen is creating the project stub, however the stub is not complete. In particular it is not clear how to deploy such project. First of all I had to define manually web project facelet and add libraries to its deployment definition. The other problem was persistence.xml file. In the Seam generated project it does not exists, since Ant is using one of the persistence-dev.xml, persistence-prod.xml, persistence-test.xml files, changing its name, depending on deployment type (which is ok). Obviously I can create persistence.xml by hand, but it goes againts Seam way of development. Finally I decided to use directly ant, which is not partucularly comfortable. All these tweaks made me think that I am doing something wrong from the IntelliJ IDEA point of view. What is the efficient way of configuring IntelliJ for usage with JBoss Seam (deployment, in particular)? I am using JBoss Seam 2.1.1, Intellij 8.1.4, JBoss 4.3.3

• Varnish configuration to only cache for non-logged in users

  I have a Ruby on Rails application fronted by varnish+nginx. As most of the sites content is static unless you are a logged in user, I want to cache the site heavily with varnish when a user is logged out but only to cache static assets when they are logged in. When a user is logged in they will have the cookie 'user_credentials' present in their Cookie: header, in addition I need to skip caching on /login and /sessions in order that a user can get their 'user_credentials' cookie in the first place. Rails by default does not set a cache friendly Cache-control header, but my application sets a "public,s-max-age=60" header when a user is not logged in. Nginx is set to return 'far future' expires headers for all static assets. The configuration I have at the moment is totally bypassing the cache for everything when logged in, including static assets — and is returning cache MISS for everything when logged out.   I'm looking for the best way to write unit test for code that POSTs to an external web service. The body of the POST request is an XML document which describes the actions and data for the web service to perform. Now, I've wrapped the webservice in its own class (similar to ActiveResource), and I can't see any way to test the exact XML being generated by the class without breaking encapsulation by exposing some of the internal XML generation as public methods on the class. This seems to be a code smell - from the point-of-view of the users of the class, they should not know, nor care, how the class actually implements the web service call, be it with XML, JSON or carrier pigeons. They are all connected to the same switch using their eth0 card and they are all working. I have configured 10.72.11.x IP addresses on their eth1 card.They are all connected to the same switch - a different one from the switch used with eth0 card - using their eth1 card and they are NOT all working.   I have a plugin architecture solution written in .NET C# 3.5, where each plug-in is an assembly loaded by the main project. Each plug-in connects to a different web-service, so I would like to have the configuration of that plugin in its own plugin.dll.config file instead of having it in the app.config of the main project. I have been looking around and I saw that i could load from each class its own config file: // Get the application configuration file. System.Configuration.Configuration config = ConfigurationManager.OpenMappedExeConfiguration(fileMap,userLevel) I see how that would help me get the basic settings from the appSettings section, but I cant see a way to read the web-service information stored in the plugin.dll.config file.   Is there any way to estimate the memory requirement for creating an XpathDocument instance based on the file size of the xml? XpathDocument xdoc = new XpathDocument(xmlfile); Is there any way to programmatically stop the process of creating the XpathDocument if memory drops to a very low level? Since it loads the entire xml into memory, it would be nice to know ahead of time if the xml is too big. What I have found is that when I create a new XpathDocument with a big xml file, an outofmemory exception is never fired, but that the process slows to a crawl, only 5 Mb of memory remains a available and the Task Manager reports it is not responding. This happened with a 266 Mb xml file when there was 584 Mb of ram. I was able to load a 150 Mb file with no problems in 18. After loading the xml, I want to do xpath queries using an XpathNavigator and an XpathNodeIterator. I am using .net 2.0, xp sp3.

  I have signed up(paid) for Google site search. They have me a url of a sort of web service where I can send a query to it, it searches my site, and it returns XML of the search results. Well I am trying to load this XML via Ajax from a page on my site but I cannot. I can load from any of my pages on my domain so I am assuming it is because of the XML being on Google's domain. So there has got to be a way to load it though, I don't think they would have given me the URL if I couldn't do anything with it lol. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks! I am not a server expert, so please be gentle. I am wondering if there are any small configuration that I might have missed, that will cause me some issues in the long run...
