• SQL trigger for audit table question

  I am writing a trigger to audit updates and deletes in tables. I am using SQL Server 2008 My questions are, Is there a way to find out what action is being taken on a record without going through the selection phase of the deleted and inserted tables? Another question is, if the record is being deleted, how do I record within the audit table the user that is performing the delete. (NOTE: the user connected to the database is a general connection string with a set user, I need the user who is logged into either a web app or a windows app) Please help?

You can not create duplicate fields, but simply add a single extra field, "coupleId", which would have a unique id for each couple; and two rows (one for each person) per couple; then JOIN the table against itself with a constraint like a.coupleId = b.coupleId AND a.id < b.id so that you can condense the data into a single result row for a given couple.

  I created a subversion repository, imported an empty structure, checked out the repo, added a file to the working copy and tried commiting the working copy with the following commands: svnadmin create mysvn svn import -m "initial empty structure" test/ file:///tmp/mysvn svn co file:///tmp/mysvn mywc svn ci -m "test" The commit failed with the following error: Transmitting file data .svn: Commit failed (details follow): svn: While preparing '/tmp/mywc' for commit svn: no such table: rep_cache I am running Mac OS X 10.6.3 and subversion 1.6.5.   I am starting to implement an MTI solution and have a basic question. I have 3 physical models - SMSNotifications, EmailNotifications, TwitterNotifications and they are subclasses of notification. At times in my code, I want to say Notifications.find(:all)so that I can get a set of results sorted by their creation time. Then I want to do things based on their subclass. What is the way to write Notifications.find(:all) and have Rails look through the subclass tables and combine the results? Right now Rails still thinks I have a physical Notifications table which goes against my MTI design. I am also considering the possibility that I should be using STI instead. I would probably have 10 empty columns per row but if getting all notifications requires a query for each type of notification, then I feel like this could be a big issue. Thanks!

Data basically is stored as follows (with other columns) : Table Name: Hits ============================ VisitorIP TIMESTAMP ---------------------------- 15.215.65.65 123456789 I want to display total hits per hour (within the last 6 hours ) including the hours that has no hits. Example of the output: // Assuming now : 21:00 21:00 - 0 hits 20:00 - 1 hits 19:00 - 4 hits 18:00 - 0 hits 17:00 - 2 hits 16:00 - 3 hits i would love to get the data as array, Please note that the stored date is in UNIX time stamp format. and there may be some hours without any hits! • Fluent many-to-many: Deleting one end does not remove the entry in the relation table

  I have two classes (Parent, Child) that have a many-to-many relationship that only one end (Parent) knows about. My problem is that when I delete a "relation unaware" object (Child), the record in the many-to-many table is left. I want the relationship to be removed regardless of which end of it is deleted. How can I do that with Fluent NHibernate mappings, without adding a Parent property on Child? • DB user can see no table using ODBC link in MS Access

  Hi, We are facing an issue with MS access. There are two users having the same access for tables and previliges in database. But one user can access the tables from MS access and another user can't. Can you please let me know the reason. Thanks for updating from options. I am looking in to it. User having grant permissions for SELECT ANY TABLE, it works for SQL connection (E.g. Toad or SQL +), but not for MS Access Is there any issue with MS-Access. Please update me.

  I have a table called activities which contains a number of activities for projects (for example 6 activities are related to one project). On a manage projects page, you can see the projects, and I have one column which needs to display the number of tasks associated with the project (in that particular row). So basically, I need a query or PHP calculation that can add up the number of tasks for the project and then display this number dynamically! • Setting tabindex in dynamic table vertically then horizontally

  I have a page that is currently generating dynamically created textboxes in a table format. The users are requesting that the tab order be changed from horizontal-vertical to vertical-horizontal. I know that you can use the tabindex attribute to control the tab ordering, but I can't for the life of me figure out the right way to get the sequential number properly for the textboxes. I guess this is more of a math question than anything else! FYI, the textboxes are made while looping two different collections. First collection looped to make the rows, for each row, second collection (which is a property of the first collection objects) is looped to create the columns. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   I followed this article on making a table-per-type inheritance model for my entities, but I get the following error when I try to add an instance of a subclass to the database. Here is how I create the subtype: var cust = db.Users.CreateObject<Customer>(); // Customer inherits User db.Users.AddObject(cust); db.SaveChanges(); I get the following error when I make that last call: "A value shared across entities or associations is generated in more than one location. Check that mapping does not split an EntityKey to multiple store-generated columns." With the following inner exception: "An item with the same key has already been added." Any ideas on what I could be missing?

  I have got a table in access that I loop through using a DAO recordset. For every recordset I take a bunch of data to an excel spreadsheet and run it through a model in excel. This produces a bunch of results in excel which are calculated in named cells. I want to be able to update the current recordset in access with these results but am having a tough time doing it.   I have a parent master table that is generic enough to hold the common information of the children. Since the children were substantially different, we created separate tables for them. So I have something like this: tblMaster -------- MasterID int Name varchar(50) --Common to all children and there are a bunch of fields like this ChildType int -- Type of Child either ChildOne or ChildTwo ChildID int -- need to store ChildOneID or ChildTwoID depending on type of Child, so that i can refer to children tblChild1 -------- ChildOneID int IDENTITY tblChild2 --------- ChildTwoID int IDENTITY Should I have a ChildID in the master that is either ChildOneID or ChildTwoID based on the ChildType column? I have a number of children and I have simplified it for this question. The other way is to add ChildOneID and ChildTwoID as columns in the master, but since i have a number of columns, I will have a lot of null columns EDIT: Any help is appreciated

• Rails table inheritance issue

  I've setup some models in the table inheritance fashion and everything seems to be all fine and dandy. But, when I use a collection select field to select values from one of the models it saves it but it saves the ID of the data and not the actual value of the data. So when I try to display the value on the show view it just shows the corresponding ID and not the actual value. Here is my setup. I'm using formtastic as a side note.   Hi In my app i'm using a UITableViewController ("grouped style") which in one of its section I want the user to be able to see what he had selected by making this cell colored and other "uncolored". Doing it by updating all cells' background color and reloading table data, each time user touches a cell (in didSelectRowAtIndexPath:) Problem is that there is some processing made in the didSelectRowAtIndexPath: so the color doesn't get changed right a way, rather in a bit delay after touch was made. (I gusse the processing is the resone for the tiny delay) Is there a better way of doing it? Any help will be appreciated Liron P.S. I'm new to all of this...

• Using NSUserDefaults to load data depending on which table view cell is pressed

  I want my app to work just like the 'contacts' app on iOS. When a user selects a certain TableViewCell, i want to load certain data. No Matter which cell is pressed, Either "Joseph, Richard, or Shannon", This view comes up: Both of the views look the exact same, but they just display different information. So i guess my question is: How can I programmatically set a key @"cell1" @"cell2", etc... for each cell using NSUserDefaults? But here is the catch, I dont know how many cells will be added, so i cant hard code this, How can I create a key for each table view cell for how ever many is added? Thanks for the help!

  I have a table called expenses. There are numerous columns but the ones involved in my php page are date, spplierinv, amount. I have created a page that lists all the expenses in a given month and totals it at the end. However, each row has a value, but many rows might be on the same supplier invoice.This means adding each row with the same supplierinv to get a total as per my bank statement. Is there anyway I can get a total for the rows based on the supplierinv. I mean say I have 10 rows. 5 on supplierinv 4, two on supplierinv 5 and 3 on supplierinv 12, how can a get 3 figures (inv 4, 5 and 12) and the grand total at the bottom. Many thanks
