• Merging a custom ContextMenuStrip with the system edit context menu in a DataGridView

  I have a DataGridView in a VB.NET app that I have limited to cell selection only. The control has two columns, the first is not editable, the second is editable. I have a ContextMenuStrip that provides some additional functionality and I am able to make it appear when an editable cell receives a right click and is not in edit mode. Based on an example in a Microsoft forum, I am able to now show the context menu when an editable cell receives a right click while also in edit mode. That code is as follows: Private Sub DataGridView1_EditingControlShowing(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewEditingControlShowingEventArgs) Handles DataGridView1.EditingControlShowing If TypeOf e.Control Is TextBox Then With DirectCast(e.Control, TextBox) .ContextMenuStrip = ContextMenuStrip1 End With End If End Sub This, however, completely overwrites the system context menu of the editing control. • Why doesnt doesnt HTML input of type file not work with Ajax update panel

  I have a input of type file and when i try to do a Request.files when the input is wrapped in an update panel...it always returns an empty httpfilecollection. Why???   Hi! The end of my loop causes a EXC_BAD_ACCESS. Here's my dictionary (AppDelegate.data): 1 = ( 3, "Test 1", False, "" ); 2 = ( 4, "Test 2", False, "" ); And here is my loop: for (id theKey in AppDelegate.data) { if (theKey = nil) { NSLog(@"HOLY COW"); } else { NSLog(@"Key: %@ ?", theKey); } } It never says holy cow, and it says the right key but at the end it crashes... Do you have any idea why? It should only loop on 1 and two and then exit the loop... I know that there's always a "nil" object at the end that's why I did a condition with it but it doesn't look like it works at all.. Thanks!

• Carrierwave upload to a tmp dir before saving to database

  I'm trying to build a visual editor where users can click an image they are presented with an image upload form once the upload is done I use ajax to return the image and insert it back into the page. But the above method inserts the image straight into the database but I want users to be able to visualize the image before the image is inserted into the database. So I was wondering if the image using carrierwave could be uploaded to a temp location, sent back to the user and then when the user saves the page the image is moved into the permanent location. Here's what I have so far. def edit_image @page = Page.find(1) @page.update_attributes(params[:page]) @page.save return :text => @page.file end But this is what I want to achieve def temp_image #uploads received image to a temp location #returns image to the user end And once the user clicks save def save #moves the file in the temp folder to the permanent location end Cheers

• How much difference you find between scrollview offset and contentview offset of table?

  Hi all, In my application, I want to detect the end of the entire table with scrollview. Since there're no sections in my scrollview, I'm using noOfRows*rowHeight to reach the end. I'm using scrollview.contentOffset.y to detect the y offset, but this contentOffset isn't matching the multiplication result i.e. I have 20 rows and with height as 250. So it comes as 5000, but my scrollview.offset.y at the end of last cell is nearly about 4650. What's this difference? Thanx in advance.

• require_owner code to limit controller actions not recognizing current user as owner

  I am trying to restrict access to certain actions using a before_filter which seems easy enough. Somehow the ApplicationController is not recognizing that the current_user is the owner of the user edit action. When I take the filter off the controller correctly routes the current_user to their edit view information. Here is the code.   Hi! I've got model A and model Attach. I'm editing my A form with nested attributes for :attaches. And when I am deleting all attaches from A via accepts_nested_attributes_for how can I get after_update/after_save callbacks for all of my nested models? Problem is that when I am executing callbacks in model A they are executed right AFTER model A is updated and BEFORE model Attach is updated, so I can't, for example, know if there is NO ANY attaches after I delete them all :).   I am implementing a single table inheritance inside Rails. Here is the corresponding migration: class CreateA < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :a do |t| t.string :type end end Class B inherits from A: class B < A end Now, it's easy to get all instances of class B: B.find(:all) or A.find_all_by_type("B") But how do I find all instances of class A (those that are not of type B)? Is this bad organization? I tried this: A.find_all_by_type("A") But instances of class A have a nil type. I could do A.find_all_by_type(nil) but this doesn't feel right, somehow. In particular, it would stop working if I decided to make A inherit from another class. Would it be more appropriate to define a default value for :type in the migration? Something like: t.string :type, :default => "A" Am I doing something wrong here?

• Why is Windows 7 announcing itself as an IPv6 router?

  I have a 6in4 ipv6 connection from a linux box to a broker. I use gogoc to establish the connection to the broker, and radvd to advertise the route to clients on the network. All this appears to work, the problem is that I have a Windows 7 machine on the same network, and it is advertising itself as a ipv6 router. Which it is not. Update: The IP Helper service (Provides tunnel connectivity using IPv6 transition technologies (6to4, ISATAP, Port Proxy, and Teredo), and IP-HTTPS. If this service is stopped, the computer will not have the enhanced connectivity benefits that these technologies offer.) seems to be the culprit, as if it is stopped, I don't get the routes advertised. So my question is now more specifically "why is IP Helper announcing routes?".

• Anyone know a good web-based file upload package?

  Basically, what I'm looking for is a place for either one of our end users to be able to upload a file to this package, after either receiving a code from one of our support engineers or vice-versa(our engineers upload a file and send a code/link/something to end user) I've spent a bunch of time googling this, I found this: http://turin.nss.udel.edu/programming/dropbox2/, but the code there scares me, and it also doesn't render properly using PHP 5.3(uses short tags, who knows what else.) Does anyone have any recommendations?

  I have a Windows Forms app that, unfortunately, must make calls to controls from a second thread. I've been using the thread-safe pattern described on the http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms171728.aspx. Which has worked great in the past. The specific problem I am having now: I have a WebBrowser control and I'm attempting to invoke the WebBrowser.Navigate() method using this Thread-Safe pattern and as a result I am getting StackOverflow exceptions. • No route matches error with application_controller spec

  I have an application_controller spec that is failing since I removed the controller/action route from routes.rb. I get the following error: No route matches {:controller=>"application", :action=>"index"} I had many tests fail in the same way, but was able to fix them by including the correct parameters in the get call. So for instance, if I wanted to get the standard show route for posts in my spec, I had to change get :show to get :show, :id => '1' Unfortunately, I'm not sure now what to pass along for the application controller specs. I've included my test below. describe ApplicationController do it "should find the latest published posts and assign them for the view" do Post.should_receive(:latest).and_return(@posts) get :index assigns[:posts].should == @posts end it "should find the latest approved comments and assign them for the view" do Comment.should_receive(:latest).and_return(@comments) get :index assigns[:comments].should == @comments end end
