  • Advantages/disadvantages of browser-based interface vs. graphics

    - by Josh
Hello everyone, I'm in the design phase for a desktop-based application. Because of the nature of this particular application, I believe it would benefit greatly from a web-based approach (i.e., allowing a user to interface with the application through a browser running in kiosk mode) in order to leverage the simplicity of HTML/CSS/JS and the availability of many great JS interface plugins. Does taking this approach (rather than coding in a native or cross-platform graphics library) come with any gotchas?

  • Create java sandbox based on security policies

    - by argos
I need to create environment to run potentially untrusted code. Program allowed to connect to preconfigured address:port and nothing else (even read the system time). I have compiled the class whitelist. I'd searched similar questions, but found only template that based on SecurityManager which AFAIK is deprecated. Can anybody give me a simple sample how to run code in sandbox based on security policies and AccessController?

  • Call a KeyDown Event

    - by Doug
All I need is to be able to click a button and have it do the KeyDown event for Enter, I've tired doing KeyDownCheck(13); and similar things, and I can get into the KeyDown event, but I can't get it to recognize that I want Enter, and it doesn't go to any specific key. Is there a specific way to put this in? Thanks in advance

  • How to raise a validation event from a key press

    - by flavour404
Hi, I want to raise the: private void txtbox_startdate_Validating(object sender, System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs e) {} Function from a key leave event. The leave event looks like: private void txtbox_startdate_Leave(object sender, EventArgs e) {} The trouble is of course if I try and call it in this manner: txtbox_startdate_Validating(sender, e) An error is raised because in this case 'e' is an EventArgs whereas the validation function wants a System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs and so, how do I convert EventArgs to a System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs or create one so that I can call my validation function? Thanks, R.

  • innerHTML and event delegation

    - by Mark Gerrard
Hello, I have a containing div that has multiple divs within which is updated every 25ms using innerHTML (for performance reasons). I have tried using event delegation to capture events but nothing I seem to do captures the click event. I think this may be due to the speed that the contents are getting updated. Any ideas would be very welcome. Thanks Mark

  • datagridview rowsremoved event gets called every time data loads

    - by Nilotpal Das
The datagridview rowsremoved event gets called every time the data gets loaded. It also makes sense to a certain extent that every time the data loads, the existing rows are removed. so technically the event should get called. But how do i differenciate that from the actual delete button getting pressed. I don't think the key events should be used, that wouldn't be a clean approach. Any help will be most appreciated.

  • Flash: Am i totally misunderstanding Event Listening?

    - by Kohan
I don't know why but i am having trouble getting my head round event dispatching. Take this for example. someClass():Void{ this.addEventListener("onChange",someObj); } Am i right in assuming this means that someClass is listening for an onChange event and when it gets it, it is then going to fire the onChange method on someObj? Thanks, Kohan.

  • Python meta programming question

    - by orokusaki
I have a meta class MyClass which adds an attribute to a class based on some of the properties of the class's methods. When I subclass MyClass I want it to still have that attribute, and append to the attribute's value based on the sub-class's methods (ie, sub-classing extends the same attribute that the base's meta creates.). Can this be done via the bases argument passed to __new__(cls, name, bases, dct)?

  • ReSharper conventions for names of event handlers.

    - by Belousov Pavel
Hello, When I add new event handler for any event, VS creates method like Button_Click. But ReSharper underlines this method as Warning, because all methods should not have any delimeters such as "_". How can I customize rules of ReSharper so that it doesn't underline such methods? Or may be I should rename such methods? Thanks in advance.

Example: After the user clicks on the button and fires this function below, I want to disabled the onclick listener, therefore not firing the same command to my django view. $(".btnRemove").click(function(){ $(this).attr("src", "/url/to/ajax-loader.gif"); $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "/url/to/django/view/to/remove/item/" + this.id, dataType: "json", success: function(returned_data){ $.each(returned_data, function(i, item){ // do stuff }); } }); Thanks a lot, Aldo

  • Flex 4: Component move event

    - by alexey
I have a CustomTextInput component based on TextInput (Spark) component. The instance of this class is placed on a popup window (TitleWindow). How can I capture the popup move (dragging the title) event inside CustomTextInput implementation? MoveEvent.MOVE event of the CustomTextInput itself doesn't work. Of course, I can't access the parent popup window inside the component implementation, because it's a common component that can be used not only on the popup windows.
