  I feel rather foolish as this is just a short question. I was reading about a bunch of thread management helper classes in .net, specifically one that aids the storage of threads to help a service manager object automatically invoke delegates onto the subscribing thread. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with creating dispatchers. Totally forgotten the name, can't find it :( Anyone know what I'm talking about?

  I am using TextMate on a Ruby on Rails project and wonder if you can put the mouse on link_to, and then press a key and it will show the definition of link_to, or does this for any other helper functions or Model definition? Or, click open a box and type in a function name and it will show you the definition?

• How to use Spanish characters in Handlebars templates

  I am wondering what the idiomatic way to render special language characters is using Handlebars.js templates. When I render the normal html I can use something like the Spanish lowercase e, &#233, and it renders as expected. When I pass the same text as a string to my Handlebars template I just see the characters &#233. I have tried creating a Handlebars helper that used jquery to render the text using .html() then returning the .html() of the tmp element and I get the same results.

Is there an easy way to read the preferences for another user, than the current one, using CFPreferences?   I am using the rails helper observe_field to observe a the input of a textfield: <%= observe_field :word_word, :frequency => 0.25, :function => "wordObserve('#{@word_str}')" %> When the textfield input becomes a certain value, I would like to stop observing. I have tried both Event.stop() and Event.stopObserving(element, eventName, handler) but neither seem to work. Any ideas?

  It doesn't seem that the Html.CheckBoxFor helper adds the correct "checked" attribute when rendering the HTML. I have a bool property rendered like so: <%= Html.CheckBoxFor(m => m.Visible) %> And the outputted HTML is this: <input type="checkbox" value="true" name="Visible" id="Visible"> Is there some particular reason it does not add the "checked" attribute when the value is true?

• Visual Studio stack trace in notepad++

  This is probably just a setting I'm not seeing, but when I get a stack trace out of Visual Studio's exception helper dialog, it has \r\n after each "line" in the call stack. When I copy this and paste it into Notepad++, it shows up as literally \r\n, visible in the document. Of course I'd like these to be interpreted as CR LF, so everything's on a different line. Anyone know how to do this?

• jquery ui is not scaling text properly!

  I'm trying use jquery ui to scale a div that I'm dragging around to make it easier to see what's behind it, but any text inside it is scaling strangely. The text itself becomes smaller, but it seems to have a bunch of padding around it and is floating now. The text extends past the bottom of the div even though it should be contained properly by the div. I put a red border around the lines of text and the borders are the same size as the original text. I'm not really sure what to do to get this to work...   Hey everyone, I have an ASP.NET MVC 2 project that I'm working on and I'm wondering where I should place some of my code. I currently have a UsersModel which consists of a bunch of static methods that operate against my data context. These methods include such things as: UserExistsInDatabase, UserIsRegisteredForActivity, GetUserIdFromFacebookId etc etc. Should these methods be inside a UsersModel class or would they be more suited to a user helper class outside of the models context?
