  • Taking web page screen shot in Windows 8 Metro app

    I'm trying to take screen shot of web page in Windows 8 Metro app. So far the only helpful control is the WebView. Unfortunately it does not contain any method like DrawToBitmap (known from Forms WebBrowser control). Am I missing something? Different approach would focus on injecting some JS (e.g. html2canvas) to page rendered in WebView but I don't think it is possible due to security reasons. I would greatly appreciate any help.

  • How to move something from a virtual dpad on-screen

    Hello everyone, I've started a little game, and so far I'm moving a little guy with onKeyDown() and the DPAD from Android Emulator. Now what I want to do is to add 4 buttons on the screen (like in a GAMEBOY emulator for example) and these buttons should move my little guy. With a clickListener and onClick() (or touchListener and onTouch()), it's ok for one move but how to do if I want that my little guy continues moving when I stay clicked on the button ??? Buttons are enough or should I make a 4 arrows soft keyboard or anything else ?? Thanks

  • PHP - white screen of death!

    Hi everyone, After debugging a codeigniter app that were installed into a new development environment, I have started to freak out when seeing white screens with nothing more available. I have been able to solve each and every one of the errors that have caused this, but it have taken seriously way too long time. PHP error_reporting(E_ALL) & display_errors", 1 is set as well. I even installed Xdebug in hope of getting more output, but no. My logging settings are also working, but nothing is written to the log. Is there a way to get something informative printed out instead of a complete white screen? It would certainly shorten my time spent on solving the eventual errors that causes this? Thanks a lot!   • iPhone screen rotates at random !

    I use a tabBar Controller as root controller. It has 4 tabs and each of its ViewControllers has - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)toInterfaceOrientation { return YES; } as long as the tabBarController itself. But when I rotate the device (real or simulator), the screen turns at random! If it doesn't turn when I open the application it would have the same behavior until I quit the app. I tried to add the 4 viewControllers one by one in IB to see if one was problematic, but I obtained the same issue. It only always works when there is no tabs at all! Please tell me if you have any ideas. Thanks!

    I'm building a settings screen for an iPhone app and it is supposed to resemble a grouped table view. Each "cell" should behave like a button. Most cells just have a image view, label view, and disclosure indicator. One will display a value in addition to a label. All of these buttons will present a new view when tapped. Now, how to implement this? I was considering just laying out a set of buttons with custom background images, or would it be best to just use a table view. If that's the case what should it be implemented. So far I've only used table views to display some kind of dynamic data in which each cell displayed the same basic detail view. I'm most curious to figure out how to setup cellForRowAtIndexPath. Would this contain some sort of switch statement to configure each cell individually, or is there an easier way to handle all this?

  • Manage widgets from page edit screen

    Hi there. I'm looking to find a way to integrate the widget control area into the page edit screen. For the site I'm making it would be perfect with the same drag and drop functionality. I want a list of the available widgets that I can drag and drop into the page widget area. The widgets will then only be shown on that particular page. I've looked through the wp-admin/widgets.php file and tried to use some code from there. I even tried just including widgets.php at the end of the post.php (which is basically what I want, but of course gave me funny results). Please don't suggest plug-ins like Widget Context or Widget Logic. Those are my fallback if I cant do this :) So I would like ideas and/or input on how to accomplish this. Preferably I'd like to do it in the functions.php file, or in a plug-in.

  • Mirroring a portion of the screen to an external display (in OSX)

    I would like to write a program that can mirror a portion of the main display into a new window. Ideally this new window could then be displayed on an external monitor. I have seen this uiltity for a flightsim that does this on a pc (a multifunction display extractor). MFDex http://trac2.assembla.com/lightnings..._x86_Setup.msi I have looked at screen magnifiers or vnc clients for ideas but I think I need to write something from scratch. I have tried to do some reading on osx programing but where do I start in terms of gaining access to the display? I somehow need to extract the graphics from a particular program. Is it best to go near the final output stage (the individual pixels sent to the display) or somewhere nearer the window management stage. Any ideas or pointers would be much appreciated.     Hi, all! I'm writing an android application which listens the phone calling events. What I want to do is, if there is a call incomes or outgoes, an activity shows with my customized info. I want to this screen keeps showing during the calling period. However, if a call is coming, the system UI which shows the contact always appears on top of my activity. I've found some apps already realized this function, but mine can't. :( Is there any way that I can achieve my goal? Any help will be appreciated.

  • How to track down a Blue Screen of Death triggered by an (usermode) application

    We have a .Net application consisting of mixed managed and unmanaged code. We have a number of reports of users getting BSOD while using our application. These blue screens happen on different versions of Windows. Mostly XP but one user claims it happens on Windows 7. Some users see it happening when doing one thing, other see it happening when doing something completely different. Of course, we cannot reproduce the problem. Needless to say, I'm stumped. A user mode application shouldn't be able to blue screen the OS so we are running into a bug in a common kernel space application, perhaps buggy antivirus software? Does anyone have any tips on how to track something like this down? We don't have access to a computer where this is happening so we wouldn't be able to hook up a kernel debugger or anything like that.

    Hello, gcc 4.4.4 c89 I am writing a client/server application. I have finished and now I want to implement some logging feature that will display log messages on the screen as well as log to a file. However, I don't want to display all log messages (warning, error, critical, unrecoverable, debug, etc). Maybe I can set so that it will display, just errors and debug messages and nothing else. For example, the user might not be interested in the debug messages. Is there any design-pattern that I can follow? What do you normally for for logging? The component where the page loads will have javascript enabled so just parsing the html is not enought.     I picked up an ASUS EEE 1101HA with Windows 7 and installed UBUNTU 10.4 Netbook Remix (dual boot). Ubuntu runs fine, but it doesn't recognize that the notebook LCD is 1388x768 and thus only offers 1024x768 and 800x600 as monitor resolution. So .. how can I tell it about that higher resolution? (Have root pwd & vi, una-bash-ed to use both.. )

    Hello, I would like to buy a new Eee PC 1001HA or 1101HA. I know the max display resolution is: 1024x600 for eeePC 1001 and 1366x768 for eeePC 1101 But what's the max resolution of the graphic board when connecting these two types of eeePC to an external LCD monitor??? Let's say the external LCD monitor supports a full HD resolution of 1920x1080, are these eeePC graphic boards able to go up to such resolution??? It's really incredible to me, how such a useful information is missing everywhere on every ASUS website. Eee PC are very well suited to be connected to external monitor, so I can't believe how difficult is to find out this information. I downloaded aldo the manual, but it's not in there too. So I was hoping somone has got one and knows the answer. Thanks!

On the occasions that we do service the machines in the office we generally have one of our techs pick the computer up while they are out and about and bring it back with them. Only rarely will we require the customer to bring us the computer themselves. In order to reduce costs, be much more efficient, and potentially expand our market far beyond what would be feasible with travel required; I am looking at ways that we can service our clients remotely whenever possible. What we're in need of is a solid remote desktop application that will be incredibly easy for our customers to connect to, as well as be robust enough that we don't need the client babysitting the computer during the entire repair. Ideally I would like to use a web-based solution so that we don't have to walk the customers through installing, connecting, and configuring it over the phone. This would be unacceptable because of the level of service they are used to. Effectively we'd want them to be able to just go to a URL, enter a PIN or something, and then they are connected and ready to rumble. (Obviously the option to just email them a link that'd do all this for them would be what we'd be aiming for) Along with the ease of use factor, we would need the product to not require any further intervention on the part of the client after we have connected. Nobody is going to be happy if we have to call them every 15 minutes so they can reconnect to us every time we reboot - so auto-reconnect is an absolute must. The only product I know of right now that does any of this is LogMeIn Rescue. It allows unattended access, the applet is lightweight and installs quickly, and the customer can either enter a PIN on the site or just click a link emailed to them in order to connect. The only real downside I see to LogMeIn Rescue is that it's $120.00/month per technician. While we'd ultimately end up saving far more than that per month just in fuel costs alone, I'd like to explore any other options out there that I may not have come across. So - Are there any equally good products out there? If so what are they, why do you recommend them, how have you been utilizing them yourself, and what do they cost?
