  • Substitute Items on Internal Sales Orders

    Oracle Order Management now enables you to substitute items on internal sales order lines to manage item availability.  Oracle Order Management enables you to substitute items on internal sales order lines to manage item availability. Source organizations can decide to ship a substitute item in case the original item is not available to be shipped. The application supports manual (using Related Items window) and automatic (using ATP functionality) substitutions.To substitute an item on ISO, you must ensure that the value of the Item Substitution on Internal Order system parameter is set to a value other than None. In addition, you must ensure to define substitute item relationships and automatic item substitution setup in the system. The application provides the option to not send the notifications when any change happens on the ISO related to quantity, schedule arrival date, or item. You can control these notifications using the OM: Send Notifications of Internal Order Change profile option.   • Where to find information about ubuntu compatible or certified hardware/PC models

    I am buying a new desktop PC in early 2013, anyway this question should apply to someone intending to buy a new laptop/ultrabook as well. This machine is not meant for gaming, and if I ocasionally do it, I can survive with minimum graphics. However I may need some heavy multimedia edition or multitasking at times, so basically my greatest priority is a good processor, after that perhaps average graphic card (if onboards are not enough, I am still not informed enough about that), at least 4GB of RAM with possibility of expansion. I know there are some PC models specially designed to ship with Ubuntu, which is the OS I use the most these days. However, most people around me use Windows and some software with unsupported versions for Linux and not having a Windows license becomes a bit problematic. Given that, I would like to find information about which PC models or even manufacters currently on the market have the best compatibility with Ubuntu, I am still undecided between building my own desktop or buying a pre-made model, so I would like to find information both for certified models and certified hardware or even Ubuntu partners that may work closely with Canonical. Where to find this information in order to make sure that I will have a good experience with Ubuntu on my new PC in the years to come?

  • Warning and error information in stored procedures revisited

    Originally way to handle warnings and errors in MySQL stored routine was designed as follows: if warning was generated during stored routine execution which has a handler for such a warning/error, MySQL remembered the handler, ignored the warning and continued execution after routine is executed MySQL checked if there is a remembered handler and activated if any This logic was not ideal and causes several problems, particularly: it was not possible to choose right handler for an instruction which generated several warnings or errors, because only first one was chosen handling conditions in current scope messed with conditions in different there were no generated warning/errors in Diagnostic Area that is against SQL Standard. First try to fix this was done in version 5.5. Patch left Diagnostic Area intact after stored routine execution, but cleared it in the beginning of each statement which can generate warnings or to work with tables. Diagnostic Area checked after stored routine execution.This patch solved issue with order of condition handlers, but lead to new issues. Most popular was that outer stored routine could see warnings which should be already handled by handler inside inner stored routine, although latest has handler. I even had to wrote a blog post about it.And now I am happy to announce this behaviour changed third time.Since version 5.6 Diagnostic Area cleared after instruction leaves its handler.This lead to that only one handler will see condition it is supposed to proceed and in proper order. All past problems are solved.I am happy that my old blog post describing weird behaviour in version 5.5 is not true any more.

  • Best practice for storing information from a php script for future use

    My employer uses forms to help people search for products. The product lists can change from time to time and the forms need to be updated again. The product information can be accessed through a third party API which I started tinkering with, I've recently built a script that retrieves the information with PHP and creates and populates a form dynamically with Javascript. So far so good, but... There are limitations to the API, mainly it can only be accessed a certain number of times per hour, it is probably more than my form/script would use but I want to create a script that is minimally intrusive. My main question is... What is the best practice for accessing the information once and storing it long enough to let the API reset? I was wondering about creating a cookie but there is the possibility of users that have them disabled. (Also, I am doing this as a personal project but I like the people I work for and I think this would help them out.) Thanks in advance.
