  • Biztalk Server 2006 64bit problem

    Hi, I am trying to install a 64-bit biztalk server 2006. However when I start my installation it asks if I want to get my .cab file from the internet or install it manually etc. Because of internet security issues here at our work we can't get it from the internet directly. So I downloaded it manually: BtsRedistW2k3EN64.cab, to be exact. However when I try to install this it complains about: This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor. I opened the cab file and found out that the file: SQLServer2005_ADOMD.msi was apparently the problem. So I thought I'd install the 64bit version of this msi then: SQLServer2005_ADOMD_x64.msi, however I get the same error. So atm I'm pretty stuck. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot

    I'd like to permanently see a clickable list of windows I have open, in the same way that the taskbar allows in Windows. Can I do this on Mac? Some details: i have many virtual desktops (spaces), so often a single application has windows on many of them. I often have multiple windows of each application, such as the terminal or browser, on the same virtual desktop I have multiple monitors, if it matters. Edit: When I say 'permanently see a clickable list of windows I have open' I mean that I want to see every window I have open, and I'd like to be able to click on each one to open that window. I'm not looking for the newer behaviour where tasks are clustered by application.

  • Trojan Horse Generic.15.apnz Virus Impossible to get rid of?!

    Hi Guys I'm new to this forum so I'm unsure whether this is the right place for a question like this. I have a Trojan Horse infection that lives in memory and seems to be impossible to get rid of. I've tried a vew AntiVirus products (Norton, Windows Essentials & AVG Free) all to no avail & I've recently tried a few bootable antivirus solutions I found here: http://www.techmixer.com/free-bootable-antivirus-rescue-cds-download-list/ Kaspersky Rescue Disk 2008 (failed - it wouldn't even load the UI, is there a newer one out there?) F Secure Rescue Disk (Updates & Scanner ran, found 10 infections, said it was going to delete or repair them, but didn't get rid of them) Avira found a load of infections but it froze when I tried to interact with the UI after the scan. Every time I run these I'll load Windows after & run AVG, and it still finds Trojan Horse Generic.15.apnz (in Services.exe) & Trojan Horse Generic.16.ARSU (in svchost.exe) Is anyone familiar with a virus like this? Can anyone suggest how to approach a solution? Thanks Dave

  • Clean up infected computer from viruses

    I have a computer which had AVG Free installed from day one. After several months of operation, it starts detecting viruses and trojans all the time. Besides running a full scan, what should I do to clean the computer? Should I install another anti-virus or anti-malware tool (can it help?), or once viruses infect a system the only real solution is a clean format? (Lately I've heard of viruses that burn themselves in the BIOS, so a clean format might not always work ... how common is this technique? Should I burn a fresh BIOS as well?)

  • Can't VNC into my OSX machine from my Windows machine

    Hi, I'm trying to access my OSX (snow leopard) machine from my Windows 7 machine. Both machines are within my local network I don't need outside access. I'm using Vine Server (OSXvnc) for OSX and TightVNC Viewer for Windows, but TightVNC keeps telling me that the host is unreachable. Any idea what could be wrong? how could I troubleshoot this kind of issue? Appreciate your help.

  • How to access programs in one PC using another PC

    Hi, I was recently given an old PC for my remote access at work. The CPU that comes with it has Windows XP installed, 400+ MB of ram, all USB devices disabled. I access my work applications using VPN / Citrix. Basically, it' sooooo slow. Plus it's bulky and it will just occupy space, so I am now hoping to find a way for me to integrate this work PC with my home PC. I tried to put in the hard drive in my home PC CPU, and set the drive as slave. However, when I booted my PC from this hard drive, I am stuck at the screen where windows is prompting me to select how am I going to boot (ex. Safe Mode, Safe mode with command prompt, Last Working Configuration, etc), but whatever option I select, I am still stuck at this option after reboot. I am thinking if maybe I can clone the drive and mount the cloned drive and access the system as a virtual machine. But I don't know if that will work. I would like to know if there's something I can do so I can work at home using my home PC, where I can access my work programs to connect to VPN / Citrix. My home PC's OS is Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

What I would like is to find number of screencasts that would cover basics of Linux commands, server administration, commonly performed tasks etc (no GUI, only terminal).   • RTL8192SU Linux Issue Installing Driver

    OK I've read tons of fourms of people getting the onboard RTL8192SE working and the RTL8192SU working dif is U = USB they are both N and i have both Toshiba L500D-00T pre-installed Win Vistax64-HP and i have obtained the free Win7x64-HP upgrade the onboard wificard sucks and can't hold a stable connection for more then 20minutes in windows but the usb is amazing. Now problem is i tried both Ubuntu and Mandriva with no resolve the issue is the onboard drive detects and actually SHOWS that it's there but no wireless networks detect so it's saying no SSID's are broadcasting which i know is a lie since I'm running a 2wire bell dsl modem with built in wifi and a Linksys wrt54g w/ DD-WRT firmware and both are broadcasting fine. Why don't i use the USB? In the hardware device manager in mandriva it shows up as unknown but shows that it's realtek and that it's a 8192 chipset. but no option to for a driver install and when i do a make in terminal i get this error and no clue what it means [root@John-PC rtl8192se_linux_2.6.0010.1020.2009_64bit]# make make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.31.12-desktop-3mnb/build: No such file or directory. Stop. make: *** [all] Error 2 [root@John-PC rtl8192se_linux_2.6.0010.1020.2009_64bit]# any help appreciated. and just encase I'm running currently Mandriva Spring 2010 Free

  • mac osX file recovery

    I thought that all operating systems would merge folder content when being moved to the same location. Imagine my surprise when that didn't happen and I have hundreds, if not thousands of files that have gone missing and are nowhere to be found. Because they were not "deleted" they are not in the trash bin. I've tried to do some recovery using a program called stellarPheonix but after about a 24hour scan, it didn't recognize any of the raw files (.dng,.arw) as image files and so I couldn't see if they could be recovered. It also didn't show the directory structure, which would be handy. I tried a quick scan, but all it showed was files that were still on the HD, not sure what the point of that is. I've used recover 2000 on Win and it does a good job, does anyone know of anything that works quickly and reliably for this kind of file recovery. (I don't think I should have to do a sector-by=sector for this kind of file loss)

    How capable are USB hubs? I have an AirPort Extreme router with a printer attached (it's not powered by USB). I want to extend this and add two hard drives (one for Time Machine and the other for EyeTV recordings). Can a 4-port USB hub (I'm considering this one) achieve USB 2.0 speeds and power the hard drives? What difference would a self-powered vs externally-powered hub produce?

  • DVD-RW Drive not recognizing a DVD+R disc

    Hi everyone, I am having trouble burning DVD+R disc's. My OS is vista and i have used this burner and these same discs in the past. I haven't had the need to do so in months and now that i come back to create some backups my DVD/RW drive doesn't recognize a brand new DVD+R disc. These disc are the same ones i have used in the past(Same Pack even). Anyone have any idea what this might be. Maybe a vista upgrade or something that i downloaded in the last few months that could have thrown something off? Thanks in advance.

  • All the Gear and No Idea: Suggestions for re-designing my home/office/entertainment network

    Help/ Advice/ Suggestions please: I have a load of kit that I love but which currently operate in disconnected, sometimes counter-productive way. Because I never really had a masterplan I just added these things one after another and connected them up in ad hoc ways. Since I bought my Macbook I've found I spend much less time on the MacPro that was until then my main machine. Perversely, as my job involves writing .Net software, I spend a lot of Mac time actually inside a Windows 7 VM. I stream media from the HP box to the PS3 and thus to the TV, but its not without its limitations/annoyances. We listen to each other's iTunes libraries but the music files are all over the place and it would be good to know they were all safely in one location (and fully backed up). I need to come up with a strategy that will allow me to use all the kit for work, play (recording live music, making tunes, iMovie work), pushing/streaming media to the TV and sharing files with my other half (she uses a Windows laptop and her iPod touch). Ideally I'd like to be able to work on any of the machines and have a shared homedrive that was visible to all machines so all my current files were synced up wherever i was. It would be great if I could access everything securely and quickly over the web. I'd also like to be able to set up a background backup process. The kit list thus far: Apple MacPro 8GB/3x250GB RAID0 + 1TB Apple MacBook Pro 13" 8GB/250GB - I spend a lot of my work time on a Windows 7 VM on this. Crappy Acer laptop (for children's use - iPlayer, watching movies/tv files) HP Proliant Server 4GB/80GB+160GB+300GB Sun Ultra 10 2 x 80GB (old, but in top-notch condition) PS3 160GB iPod Classic 2 x 8GB iPod Touch Observations: Part of the problem is our dual use of Windows and OS X - we can't go for a pure NT style roaming profile. Because the server is also used for hosting test/beta applications and a SQL Server db, it can't be dedicated to file serving. The two Macs really could do with sharing a roaming profile or similar. I'd love to be able to do something useful with the Ultra 10. My other half has been trying to throw it away for over five years now and regularly ask what function it serves in my study :-( I've got no shortage of 500GB external USB hard drives iMovie files are very large and ideally would be processed on a RAID system. Apple's TimeMachine isn't so great. If anyone could suggest all or part of a setup that would fulfil some of my requirements I'd be very grateful. I am willing to consider purchasing one or two more bits of kit (an Apple TV and a Squeezebox have been moted by friends) if they will help make efficiencies rather than add to the chaos and confusion.     When using the windows command ipconfig /all, the result will show a PPP adapter followed by a long name closed with braces. It looks like the below image: When I try to set the DNS of my PPP adapter, I encounter this problem: netsh interface ip set dns "PPP adapter {1C43A7B0-1173-40E2-96D6-1DA6457786B0}" static 208.67.222.222 Invalid interface PPP adapter {1C43A7B0-1173-40E2-96D6-1DA6457786B0} specified. I have also used the pure string "{1C43A7B0-1173-40E2-96D6-1DA6457786B0}", but with the same result. How can I reference this PPP adapter, so that I can change its configured DNS and other settings? What does this long string mean? I do not have this PPP adapter connection on my "show all connections" panel, because I have a VPN app - when running it, this PPP adapter will be automatically created for me.

  • Big square ads appear in lower right corner of both IE and Chrome

    In both IE and Chrome, large ads appear in the lower right corner of the browser window. Sometime they look reputable like for Microsoft, but sometimes they are big flashing boxes that say "You have won". Right now I am looking at "Need to lose 30 lbs?" I ran Microsofot Security Essentials and it didn't find anything. I then ran Windows Defender Offline (boot from CD). WDO found five things lincluding browser hijack that caused the wrong page to appear after clicking a link. It reported that it cleaned successfully, after which I ran a quick scan to confirm. After rebooting I still see the ads. Do I still have an infection? Any other tools to try? What about ComboFix? Thanks Update: Here's a screenshot - on superuser

What have I done until now?     i want to view tracing events from the Event Tracing for Windows system. As far as i can tell the only client program that exists for connecting to providers is a command line tool that comes with the Microsoft Windows Device Driver Development Kit (DDK), e.g.: tracelog -start "NT Kernel Logger" -f krnl.etl -dpcisr -nodisk -nonet -b 1024 -min 4 -max 16 -ft 10 –UsePerfCounter ... tracelog –stop It then requires a separate command line tool to convert the generated log file into something usable, e.g.: trcerpt krnl.etl -report isrdpc.xml Has nobody come up with a Windows program (ala Performance Monitor, Process Monitor, Event Viewer) that lets me start tracing by pushing a "Go" button, let me see events, and i can stop it with a "Stop" button? Is there GUI for Event Tracing for Windows?

  • Mystery undeletable file

    I can't delete C:\Config.Msi\75ce84f.rbf. it's not readonly, system or hidden it's not in use by another process (according to Process Explorer) the NT security permissions aren't the problem either - I am the owner and have Full Control ; as a double-check, the Effective Permissions tab shows that I have permission to delete. Yet trying to delete the file gives "Access is Denied" from both Explorer and cmd. I can however rename it or move it to another folder on the same drive. I can also read it and Virustotal says it's clean which is what I would expect (it's just a Windows Installer temp file - a copy of some DLL I think). The relevant line from Process Monitor is: 6:52:14.3726983 PM 112 Explorer.EXE SetDispositionInformationFile C:\Config.Msi\75ce84f.rbf CANNOT DELETE Delete: True Write 1232 Background: I'm using XP SP2. I recently repaired my Adobe Reader installation to make it the default browser plugin again instead of Foxit. (there seems to be no UI to do it otherwise?) So the installer did its thing and then asked to reboot. As is my habit when rebooting is inconvenient I declined the offer and ran pendmoves to find out what files the installer had scheduled to move / delete. It wanted to delete two files with .rbf extension (rollback files) located in C:\Config.msi\. (this applies to both even though I've been speaking about one). So I tried to delete them manually and couldn't. Does anyone have any ideas what could be preventing deletion? (and I don't think it's malware even though I'm not running AV at the moment)
