• Can't connect to MySQL database hosted in CloudBees

  I have a free CloudBees account and created a free ClearDB database using their wizards. My trouble is when I use their connection information (whether I try to connect from my Java app, or an outside tool - SQLyog to be exact) I take the error: Access denied for user 'b51dbc5757d79f'@'%' to database 'mywiki. The username provided by CloudBees does not contain those extra characters that the error message is displaying which seems like it would be a problem, but I'm not sure there is anything I can do about that since everything is configured for me. The username I am given is: b51dbc5757d79f - which I can delete and rebuild after sharing here :)

• IE 7 can't bind event (using .live()) to dynamically created element using .load()

  Hi All - I'm having trouble getting IE7 to keep a click event bound to an element that is added to the DOM using .load(). Here's some code: $('.mybtn').live('click', function(e){ e.preventDefault(); $('#mypage').load('load-this-page.htm'); }); And here's the html <div id="mypage"> <a href="#" class="mybtn">clickme</a> // stuff goes here </div> On page load the click works but once the div is loaded via the clickme link the click stops working in IE7. The clickme link is within the div on load and also within the load() loaded html file that's why I'm using live(). This code works in FF 3.6, fyi. Anyone have any idea what's up (besides the fact the IE sucks balls)? Thanks!

  Having trouble with AR 2.3.5, e.g.: users = User.all( :select => "u.id, c.user_id", :from => "users u, connections c", :conditions => ... ) Returns, e.g.: => [#<User id: 1000>] >> users.first.attributes => {"id"=>1000, "user_id"=>"1000"} Note that AR returns the id of the model searched as numeric but the selected user_id of the joined model as a String, although both are int(11) in the database schema. How could I better form this type of query to select columns of tables backing multiple models and retrieving their natural type rather than String ? Seems like AR is punting on this somewhere. How could I coerce the returned types at AR load time and not have to tack .to_i (etc.) onto every post-hoc access?

• Unable to Access UILabel in UITableViewCell

  I am having trouble in accessing which is in the UITableViewCell, that i have placed in my main .xib file. That Label is connected to IBOutlet servicesCell. And the Label inside the table view cell is connected through IBOutlet serviceLabel. At runtime i am not getting the text which i am assining to that label. • Port a Rails App from Windows to Mac or Linux

  Hello I've been a Rails developer on Windows for quite some time now, but I recently completed my biggest project yet (it's quite extensive, took me over a year to build) but I am having trouble deploying it. The combination of it's size, complexity and a windows environment is making it needlessly complex to deploy. I am thinking about getting an old mac mini and using it just for rails development. Either that or install unix on another box. Is there any way I can port my app to this mac or linux machine, without having to start over? I can't find any resources on the internets about this.

• How to center text in a select list

  I'm having trouble styling a select list in an html form. Basically I want it to have a font size of 12px, and a height of 30px; The problem is that the box is drawn to the right hight, but the text rendering varies in each browser. In FireFox it renders it in the top left corner. I want to vertically center the text. Anyone know of a way to do this or do I need to make something custom out of a ul? Thanks

My constructor throws this error array.cpp:40:35: error: invalid conversion from ‘int*’ to ‘int’ [-fpermissive] When my array initializes I want it to free up all the spaces in the array for ints. • Keeping track of threads when creating them recursively

  I'm currently working on some code for my Programming Languages course. I can't post the code but I'm permitted to talk about some high level concepts that I'm struggling with and receive input on them. Basically the code is a recursive DFS on a undirected graph that I'm supposed to convert to a concurrent program. My professor already specified that I should create my threads in the recursive DFS method and then join them in another method. Basically, I'm having trouble thinking of how I should keep track of the threads I'm creating so I can join all of them in the other method. I'm thinking an array of Threads but I'm unsure how to add each new thread to the array or even if that's the right direction.

Most of the examples aren't detailed enough, or do stuff via code, but I'd like to take advantage of the IDE as much as possible. Whats the difference between ItemsSource and DataContext? I'd like to bind it to just a List for starters. I don't need SQL or databases or anything fancy. Where would I declare my list? In MainWindow.xaml.cs? How do I get it to appear in that dialog?

• PowerPoint API, how to change slide layout programmatically

  Hello, I'm working on PowerPoint Add-In and I was faced with trouble I couldn't solve myself. The point is I need to change the slide Layout programmaticaly with C# (the Add-In Express 2009 for Office and .NET is used). If the new layout is a predefined one everything is fine but I need to set a custom layout as a new one (without slide recreating). Unfortunately, I didn't find any information on how to do it, PowerPoint object model reference documentation didn't answer me as well. There is just the ability to create a new slide that uses custom layout. I've done an experiment seria and have ensured that the Slide object stayed being the same while I have been changing layout both predefined and custom ones. I don't want to create a new slide when I need just switch the layout. Is it possible at all? Please help me to find a way of doing it. Thanks in advance.

• How can I find all records for a model without doing a long list of "OR" conditions?

  I'm having trouble composing a CakePHP find() which returns the records I'm looking for. My associations go like this: User -(has many)- Friends , User -(has many)- Posts I'm trying to display a list of all a user's friends recent posts, in other words, list every post that was created by a friend of the current user logged in. The only way I can think of doing this is by putting all the user's friends' user_ids in a big array, and then looping through each one, so that the find() call would look something like: $posts = $this->Post->find('all',array( 'conditions' => array( 'Post.user_id' => array( 'OR' => array( $user_id_array[0],$user_id_array[1],$user_id_array[2] # .. etc ) ) ) )); I get the impression this isn't the best way of doing things as if that user is popular that's a lot of OR conditions. Can anyone suggest a better alternative?

I have everything uploading correctly, so that's not my problem. What I am having trouble doing is selecting images from the image_table database that only correspond to that question. • In Drupal, can you control block display according to e.g. number of URL parts?

  I'm having a little trouble controlling page-specific block display in Drupal... My URL's will be of this typical structure: http://www.mysite.co.uk/section-name/sub-page/sub-sub-page The 'section-name' will effectively be fixed, but there will be many sub-pages (far too many to explicitly reference). I need to somehow control block display as follows: One block will show on all pages where URL contains 'section-name/sub-page' but not on pages 'section-name/sub-page/sub-sub-page' Conversely, another block will show on all pages where URL contains 'section-name/sub-page/sub-sub-page' but not on pages 'section-name/sub-page' My only idea is to do a bit of PHP that looks for the string 'section-name' and then also counts URL parts (or even the number of slashes). Not sure how to implement that though :) Your help would be appreciated!

• requireJS : How to structure Javascript for an entire site?

  I have 3000+ lines of javascript that I need to get into a sensible/maintainable structure. I have chosen to use requireJS as it has been recommend to me by a few people. I have a bunch of variables that are used throughout the application and need to be available everywhere. I also have a bunch of functions that need to be available everywhere. Apart from these two dependencies most of the code can be divided off into their own modules. I am having trouble understanding how to manage my main variables so that if one module of code makes changes to the variables the rest of the JS modules will see that change. I think I need to see a few examples that demonstrate how requireJS is intended to work on a larger scale that the examples in the documentation. If anyone is an experienced requireJS user I would love the hear your tips!

  I have found a very prejudicial fact about stl maps. For some reason I cant get objects being inserted in the map to get constructed/destructed only once.   Hi, I am having trouble picking the best data structure for solving a problem. The problem is as below: I have a nested list of identity codes where the sublists are of varying length. li = [['abc', 'ghi', 'lmn'], ['kop'], ['hgi', 'ghy']] I have a file with two entries on each line; an identity code and a number. abc 2.93 ghi 3.87 lmn 5.96 Each sublist represents a cluster. I wish to select the i.d. from each sublist with the highest number associated with it, append that i.d. to a new list and ultimately write it to a new file. What data structure should the file with numbers be read in as? Also, how would you iterate over said data structure to return the i.d. with the highest number that matches the i.d. within a sublist? • Hibernate Query - Get latest versions by timestamp?

  I have a database that is being used as a sort of version control system. That is, instead of ever updating any rows, I add a new row with the same information. Each row also contains a version column that is a date timestamp, so the only difference is the new row will have a more recent timestamp. What I'm having trouble with is writing an efficient hibernate query to return the latest version of these rows. For the sake of example, these are rows in a table called Product, the timestamped column is version. There are multiple versions of multiple products in the table. So there may be multiple versions (rows) of ProductA, multiple versions of ProductB, etc. And I would like to grab the latest version of each. Can I do this in just a single hibernate query? session.createQuery("select product from Product product where...?"); Or would this require some intermediate steps?

What im trying to do is redirect bunch of urls containing a specific string like this: http://www.example.com/**undesired-string**_another-string to http://www.example.com/**new-string**_another-string and http://www.example.com/folder/**undesired-string**/another-string to http://www.example.com/folder/**new-string**/another-string So i have this code in the .htaccess: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule (.+)+(undesired-string)+(.+) $1new-string$2 [R=301,L] </IfModule> This should replace ANY undesired-string in any url to new-string, but it is not working, any idea why ?   I was given a c++ main and have to code it so it works. I am having some trouble understanding the code as I am a bit new to cpp. Here is the code int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { Class::setAtribute("string"); Class(Class::CONSTANT) << "starting up..."; } Some questions: How can the first line work with no variables? Is it static? The second line is really strange for me, what I can make out is a Constructor that takes in a class constante and then prints it out somehow? • PHP CURL works fine from localhost not from server

  I have 2 servers, srv1 and srv2. All client sites are stored in srv2 and all authentication details are stored in srv1. Each time a client site is loaded, the site in srv2 sends a curl request to srv1 to validate. I am always getting bool(false) when I print the curl response using var_dump. But if I am requesting for validation from my local wamp installation(localhost) it is perfectly returning the response. According to my understanding srv2 is blocking srv1 ip or something like that. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. The solution is really urgent as all my clients are stuck with invalid authorization message. Edit: Now when i tested curl in srv2 is working fine i think. Because I am able to fetch other websites without any trouble. But I am not able to fetch data from srv1. I can view a page from srv1 through browser url but not through curl.

• Sending JSON content type in from JavaScript objects ( jQuery ajax )

• Git: How do I rewind the Master branch on the remote origin

  I made 5 commits to Master branch when bug hunting on a private project and pushed them to the remote origin (my own private vps). Then I saw that commits 4 and 5 were going to cause trouble elsewhere and I need to undo them, so I checked out commit 3 again, made a new branch "Dev" from that point, and did a few more commits fixing the issue properly. Then I did git reset --hard HEAD~2 on Master to pull it back to the point that I branched Dev. Then I did git merge to fast forward Master back to the end of the Dev branch. So now I have a local repository, with Dev and Master both pointing to the same, up to date version of the project with the latest bug fix. Problem is, when I try to push the project now to the origin, it fails and gives me an error message: ! [rejected] master - master (non-fast forward) error: failed to push some refs to 'myserver...myproject.git' What have I done wrong, and how do I fix it? Thanks

I have method A: MyClass monkey; ... if(monkey != null) { ... } Or method B: boolean hasMonkey; //This is set to TRUE when monkey is not null MyClass monkey; ... if(hasMonkey) { ... } On a functional level, they both do the same thing. Right now, I'm using method A. Is that a bad way of doing things? Which is going to perform better?

  I'm having trouble with redirecting urls using the .htaccess file. For some reason it adds "?file_name=example-001.php" to the url. Anyone know's why this is happening and how to fix this?
