  • Force users to recache url

    I had a setting in my domain controller to redirect my domain that another domain. Example http://mysite.com redirected to http://othersite.com I removed the redirect about one week ago, but some users still seeing the redirect http://othersite.com rather than http://mysite.com. Clearing the browser cache fixes the problem. Is there are way I can force users to update their cache when they go to my site?

  • Simple URL rewrite, not redirect, with .htaccess

    I'm pretty inexperienced with .htaccess so please bear with me. I have a domain - "http://www.exampletest.com" which redirects to a folder at a different domain where I have hosting i.e: "http://www.differenturl.com/exampletest" Is there an easy mod_rewrite rule where I could have anything at "http://www.differenturl.com/exampletest" show up as "http://www.exampletest.com?" An example would be: "http://www.differenturl.com/exampletest/user.php" - "http://www.exampletest.com/user.php" Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I assume this easy so sorry to ask such a basic question. Thanks

Old = http://www.domain.com/dir/images/*.jpg New = http://www.domain.com/old_dir/images/*.jpg I am using the following RewriteRule, RewriteRule ^dir/images/(.*)\.jpg$ old_dir/images/$1\.jpg [R=301] Doesn't work, any pointers on how to get to work the images resolved correctly ?     I am using a jquery plugin called jQuery Tokeninput http://loopj.com/jquery-tokeninput/ and I am having a logic issue. var country_id = ""; jQuery("#demo-input-prevent-duplicates").tokenInput(host+"/forms/campaign_location.php?action=country", { theme: "facebook", hintText: "Enter a Country...", placeholder: "Enter a Country...", preventDuplicates: true, onAdd: function(item) { country_id = item.id; }, onDelete: function(){ hideElements(); }, tokenDelimiter: "|", }); My question here is how would I pass the value of country_id to the parameter of the below code.   • Problems with mod_rewrite and 301 redirects from one dynamic url to another

    Hey all, I'm having all kinds of problems with a bunch of apache redirects just now and could really use some help! I'm wating to put in a 301 redirect for a load of urls from a client's old site to their new site in the following format; Old - page.php?pageNum_rs_all=0&totalRows_rs_all=112 New - page/sub?foo=bar The values in the query sting for the old site don't in any way tie up to any ids or references on the new site, I only want to match that specific request and redirect to the new page. It feels like I've tried just about every combination of rewriterule I can find online but still nothing seems to be working. This is running on Apache 2.2. The rule I started with (and keep going back to) is; RewriteRule ^/page.php\?pageNum_rs_all=0&totalRows_rs_all=112 /page/sub?foo=bar [R=301,L,NE] Any help would be greatly appreciated! c.

    Hi, I am trying to write two kind of Rack routes. Rack allow us to write such routes like so: app = Rack::URLMap.new('/test' => SimpleAdapter.new, '/files' => Rack::File.new('.')) In my case, I would like to handle those routes: "/" or "index" "/*" in order to match any other routes So I had trying this: app = Rack::URLMap.new('/index' => SimpleAdapter.new, '/' => Rack::File.new('./public')) This works well, but... I don't know how to add '/' path (as alternative of '/index' path). The path '/*' is not interpreted as a wildcard, according to my tests. Do you know how I could do? Thanks

    Ok, so I am using (or trying to use) two primary mod_rewrite rules, and they seem to be conflicting with one another RewriteRule ^/?help$ index.php?page=help [L] and RewriteRule ^/?([a-zA-Z0-9._-]+)$ index.php?user=$1 [L] If I get rid of the period -. in the second rule, my help page is displayed, and I can display a user page as well, but when I add the period, my help page doesn't display, but instead (I think) gets processed as a user page. Anyone have any pointers?

    Hi all My situation is. I have a project planned to be built on ASP.NET MVC 2. And one of the major requirements is SEO optimization. A customer wants to use static-like URLs that end up with .html extension for this project that make URLs more SEO friendly. E.g. "mysite.com/about.html " or "mysite.com/items/getitem/5.html" etc. I wonder is there any benefit from SEO perspective to use .html extension in dynamic URLs? Are Google and other search engines rank work better with such URLs?

    I am trying to build a small mvc-based application. How do I call a method in a class based on a query string? For example, the $_GET query string is being set as load_master_form http://www.domain.com/settings/load_master_form And to call the method within the settings class, I am doing: function __construct(){ $this->{$_GET['method']}(); } But obviously that doesn't work - it just isn't possible to load a method like that. So how would it be done?

    Hey all, i am checking for an internet connection by checking for a file on my server. The file only has the word LIVE displayed on the page. No HTML or anything else is there, just the word LIVE. When i run this code, i do get the NSLog as saying "LIVE" but once i go to check it with the IF statement, it fails and i just do not know why???     Ive got a page in Zend all set up that will for now just echo "Hello", this address is at http://dev.local/hello and works when visiting in the browser. However when I try to use curl or file_get_contents from a script in my zend 'public' folder I get a 500 Internal error message. UPDATE Its failing because my application tries to set the langauge based on the browsers default language, when using headers like I have below, how do I add this locale? I'm trying to get my URLs to look like this: /Corporate/Users/Edit/1 /Corporate/Stores/Edit/17 /Corporate/Contacts/Edit/17 /Store/Contacts/Create /Store/Products/Edit/29 Pretty much like plain-vanilla urls, except with a user type at the front. I'm running into a lot of problems with duplicate controller names, etc. Is there a simple way to do this? I looked briefly at Areas, but this seemed way to complicated.
