    When I visit appstats page and expand callstack, the file path has <path[N]> prefix. So click the file link then emit no such file or directory error. If your request handlers modify sys.path, you must make the same modifications to sys.path in appengine_config.py so the Appstats web interface can see all files. Actually I'm using appengine_django and two path was inserted to sys.path. I did it same again at appengine_django.py but also failed. Maybe some custom setting with appengine_config.py can solve this problem but doesn't figure out how to fix it. What can I do?

  • Issue using GAE appcfg.py

    I get nothing out of appcfg.py besides the default output. I'm trying to upload some data to my development project with no luck at at all. From the instructions on the Google App Engine page the steps are as follows: Edit app.yaml update with appcfg.py make upload script upload with appcfg.py After step one I try to run the update and it never shows any success. The following commands product the same output: appcfg.py appcfg.py update appDir appcfg.py update appDir/ appcfg.py update /appDir If i try to follow the instructions from the appcfg.py output and type help upload and get: "help <action>" I get a response from the system, This command is not supported by the help utility. Try "update /?". cause I'm calling the system help command. If I use the command appcfg.py help upload I get the same result as just typing appcfg.py Can someone show me examples of the syntax to update the dev site, upload data to it and get appcfg.py to actually give help on its commands? Also I'm just assuming that the upload script and the .csv file that are being uploaded are in they myApp directory. Appreciate any help,

    I've started using Eclipe+PyDev as an environment for developing my first app for Google App Engine. Eclipse is configured according to this tutorial. Everything was working until I start to use memcache. PyDev reports the errors and I don't know how to fix it: Error: Undefined variable from import: get How to fix this? Sure, it is only PyDev checker problem. Code is correct and run on GAE. UPDATE: I'm using PyDev 1.5.0 but experienced the same with 1.4.8. My PYTHONPATH includes (set in Project Properties/PyDev - PYTHONPATH): C:\Program Files\Google\google_appengine C:\Program Files\Google\google_appengine\lib\django C:\Program Files\Google\google_appengine\lib\webob C:\Program Files\Google\google_appengine\lib\yaml\lib UPDATE 2: I took a look at C:\Program Files\Google\google_appengine\google\appengine\api\memcache\__init__.py and found get() is not declared as memcache module function. Well I've looked up several methods to fix this in my Windows Phone 7 app but I can't seem to find anything that works. What confuses me is that I've done something just like this before with no problem, so I'm not sure why it's not working. The code causing me the problem is this: if (appSettings.Contains("image")) { myImage.Source = (string)appSettings["image"]; } else { myImage.Source = "default.jpg"; } The error I get is this "Cannot implicitly convert type 'string' to 'System.Windows.Media.ImageSource". The reason this confuses me is because I did this Twitter app tutorial: http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2010/03/18/building-a-windows-phone-7-twitter-application-using-silverlight.aspx , in which you bind the image source directly to a string. So what can I do to remedy this?

    So I currently have 3 WSDLs added as Service References in my solution. In this scenario, I use the default constructor: new DataService.DataClient() which uses the built-in Endpoint Address string, which is fine and good. But I want the user of the application to have the option to change this value. 1) What's the best/easiest way of programatically obtaining this string? 2) Then, once I've allowed the user to edit and test the value, where should I store it? I'd prefer having it be stored in a place (like app.config or equivalent) so that there is no need for checking whether the value exists or not and whether I should be using an alternate constructor. (Looking to keep my code tight, ya know?) Any ideas? Suggestions?

    Does anyone have tried to implement an app in GAE having both java and python? I have an existing app and my front end is in java. Now I want to use the existing datastore to be interfaced by python. My problem is i don't know how to define the relationships and model that would be equivalent to the one in java. I have tried the one-to-many relationship in python but when stored in the datastore, the fields are different than the one-to-many of java.   • How do I create a hyperlink in java?

    I'm going through the google app engine tutorials at https://developers.google.com/appengine/docs/java/gettingstarted/usingusers I'm very new to google app engine, java and web programming in general. So my question is, at the bottom of the page it says to add a link to allow the user to log out. So far I've got this: public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse resp) throws IOException { UserService userService = UserServiceFactory.getUserService(); User user = userService.getCurrentUser(); if(user != null){ resp.setContentType("text/plain"); resp.getWriter().println("Hello, " + user.getNickname()); String logoutLink = String.format("<a href=\"%s\">Click here to log out.</a>", userService.createLogoutURL(req.getRequestURI())); resp.getWriter().println(logoutLink); }else { resp.sendRedirect(userService.createLoginURL(req.getRequestURI())); } } However instead of a link, the full string is printed to the screen including the tags. When I look at the page source, I have no tags or any of the other stuff that goes with a webpage. I guess that makes sense considering I've done nothing to output any of that. Do I just do a bunch of resp.GetWriter().println() statements to output the rest of the webpage, or is there something else I don't know about? Thanks!

  • What is the difference between .get() and .fetch(1)

    I have written an app and part of it is uses a URL parser to get certain data in a ReST type manner. So if you put /foo/bar as the path it will find all the bar items and if you put /foo it will return all items below foo So my app has a query like data = Paths.all().filter('path =', self.request.path).get() Which works brilliantly. Now I want to send this to the UI using templates {% for datum in data %} <div class="content"> <h2>{{ datum.title }}</h2> {{ datum.content }} </div> {% endfor %} When I do this I get data is not iterable error. So I updated the Django to {% for datum in data.all %} which now appears to pull more data than I was giving it somehow. It shows all data in the datastore which is not ideal. So I removed the .all from the Django and changed the datastore query to data = Paths.all().filter('path =', self.request.path).fetch(1) which now works as I intended. In the documentation it says The db.get() function fetches an entity from the datastore for a Key (or list of Keys). So my question is why can I iterate over a query when it returns with fetch() but can't with get(). Where has my understanding gone wrong?

  • "Detecting" and loading of "plugins" in GAE

    Hi! I have a "plugin like" architecture and I want to create one instance of each class that implements a dedicated interface and put these in a cache. (To have a singleton-ish effect). The plugins will be provided as jars and put into the app engine war file before the app is uploaded. I have tried to use the ClassPathScanningCandidateComponentProvider as I'm using spring anyway, but this didn't work. The provider complained that it was not able to find the HttpServletResponse class file while scanning the classpath. I can't get around this, when I add the servlet jar, then I'll get of course problems, because the same jar is also provided by the GAE. If I don't, I'm getting the error above... So I tried to add a static initialization code, but of course this doesn't work, because the class is initialized when it's instantiated for the first time. (Well I knew that but it was worth a try) The last chance I currently see is that I create a properties file with all plugin classes when the package is created, but this requires writing of a maven plugin etc. and I'd like to avoid that. Is there something that I am missing?

    Hey, I am trying to use the MaxMind GeoLite Country database on the Google App Engine. However, I am having difficulty getting the Java API to work as it relies on the InetAddress class which is not available to use on the App Engine. However, I am not sure if there is a simple workaround as it appears it only uses the InetAddress class to determine the IP of a given hostname. In my case, the hostname is always an IP anyway. What I need is a way to convert an IP address represented as a String into a byte array of network byte order (which the addr.getAddress() method of the InetAddress class provides). This is the code the current API uses, I need to find a way of removing all references to InetAddress whilst ensuring it still works! But if I send: <a href="domain.name">Go&nbsp;To</a> then I see the letter that comes with broken styles as there (3D is not my misprint) <div style=3D"margin:10 10 10 10;"><a href=3D"www.google.com">Go=C2=A0To</a></div> Well as the letter goes broken when I insert in the template symbols from national alphabets. Somebody can tell what the problem and check with yourself?

    Hi, I need to send emails asychronously through a console application. I need to do some DB updates on the callback but my application is exiting before the callback code gets run! How can I stop this from happening in a nice manner rather than simply guessing how long to wait before exiting. I would imagine the Async calls get placed in some form of thread? Is it possible to check if any are waiting to be called?   • Deliver large volume of automatic notification emails without being throttled

    I think most website has certain needs to deliver emails to its users, e.g. account activation emails, private messsage notification, comment notification, etc. Take my site as example, among 5,000 registered users, about 1,500 signed up using gmail.com box, 1,000 using yahoo.com and another 1,000 using hotmail.com. Every now and then I receive complaints from users that they never receive account activation email, sometime it goes to junk folder sometimes it just not show in any folder. Maybe it's kind of being "throttled" when exceeded maximum number of messages sent from same ip address to gmail.com/yahoo.com/hotmail.com during certain period of time? I'm using Postfix and there seems no problem with configuration since 90% of emails can be delivered to gmail.com/yahoo.com/hotmail.com boxes successfully. I noticed twitter is delivering millions of such automatic notifications to its users but I never missed a message from them. How do they archive this? Is there a permanent white list on gmail.com, yahoo.com or hotmail.com? Thanks in advance.

    Problem: I have an address field from an Access database which has been converted to Sql Server 2005. This field has everything all in one field. I need to parse out the individual sections of the address into their appropriate fields in a normalized table. I need to do this for approximately 4,000 records and it needs to be repeatable. Here are the rules for this exercise: 1 - no whining about how this should have been separate fields in the first place, we are often confronted with less than ideal situations and have to make the best of them 2- for this post, use any language you want 3- feel free to play code golf 4 - Assume an address in the US (for now) 5 - assume that the input string will sometimes contain an addressee (the person being addressed) and/or a second street address (i.e. Suite B) 6 - states may be abbreviated 7 - zip code could be standard 5 digit or zip+4 8 - there are typos in some instances UPDATE: In response to the questions posed, standards were not universally followed, I need need to store the individual values, not just geocode and errors means typo (corrected above) Sample Data: A.   • Symfony sfMail not delivering emails

    Hi, somehow sfMail doesn't want to send emails and I can't find the reaseon why. send() simply returns 0, here is my code: $message = $this->getMailer()->compose("[email protected]", "[email protected], "test", "testing"); echo $this->getMailer()->send($message); factories.yml: all: mailer: class: sfMailer param: logging: %SF_LOGGING_ENABLED% charset: %SF_CHARSET% delivery_strategy: realtime transport: class: Swift_SmtpTransport param: host: smtp.email.com port: 25 encryption: ~ username: [email protected] password: mytestpass and I simply get "0" as result. Any ideas what am I doing wrong?
