• Acordex Image viewer throws out of memory exception in CITRIX environment

  We have a .net 2.0 application. In the .aspx page we are calling the java applet using . This applet is calling the Acordex Image viewer. In the production environment users are facing "out of memory" or "insufficient memory" issues when users try to open the image or magnify an image in Acordex viewer. Strangely when the users logout and login again they are able to see the same image without any errors. The website is hosted in a CITRIX environment. We have access to this environment but we are not able to reproduce this issue on the test servers or the local machines. We dont know what is causing this issue. What should we do to troubleshoot the issue? Do we have to increase the memory allotted to the users in CITRIX? The RAM is around 4 gb. • MapView Annotation Callout action when opened

  Hi, I have a mapview with serveral annotations. Every annotation has a leftCalloutAccessoryView which is a UIViewController class. The reason for this is that I want every annotation to load some data from the server, and add the result of that data to the annotation subTitle. This all works perfectly, except that I dont want to load all that data when my app is started, but I want to the remote call to be done only when the callout bubble is opened. Does anybody know how I can do this? The viewWillload, viewDidLoad ect. don't work in this case. Any examples as well? Best regards, Paul Peelen

• Silverlight Textbox scrollviewer problem

  In silverlight, I got a textbox which I want to be multiline and have mousescrolling available. If I only use textbox then I dont have mousescrolling. If I use a scrollviewer I will have mousescrolling. BUT everytime my writing exceeds the rows that are shown from start the text and caret just dissapears without the scrollviewer doing anything. How do I solve the problem so I get the caretposition effects the scrollviewer? I sofar not managed to find someone with the exact same problem as me.

  Hi All, In my work place, we have several classic ASP and ASP.NET application. All these application though doing different works are integrated through a single sign on mode, which is handled by one main application. The main application is in classic ASP and verifies the userid and password initially and then stores the UserID in a session variable, which is then used by all other ASP and ASP.NET page as a valid Authenticated user. (For DOT NET pages we use session bridging) Is this how authentication is done is classic ASP? (I dont know classic ASP much) From the time I was introduced to this setup, I started to worry whether this setup is flawless? Is there any better way to handle the same ? Will it be possible to authenticate for both classic asp and DOT NET in the same login page? Thanks in advance for you answer Raja

• Drag/Drop image url in IE

  I have a requirement in our web app. to allow users to drag an image from an external site and drop it in a text editor they have open in our app. This is, as you'd expect, to let them embed the image in the document (its a rich text editor). In IE 8 this functionality appears to be broken. If I drag/drop, IE uses a relative URL for the 'src' tag on the image - which means I cannot then download the file and store it since I dont know the full address (eg: '../../imgs/myImage.png') Safari and Firefox do not do this; they provides the fully-qualified address (eg: www.mysite.com/imgs/myImage.png). Is this a bug in IE or just WebKit/Mozilla going the extra mile?

  I need to read and write some data through named pipes. I have tested it in a simple Ruby app, and it works nice. But I dont know, where should i put it in my Rails app? I have heard about Rake tasks, but i don't sure, is it right solution. I need to open a pipe-file, and listen to data. If there is any, i need to process it and make a DB-query. Then, write some data to another pipe. I know, how it works, but the only problem - how to run it with Rails? Give me some examples, please.

• Simple comet example using php and jquery

  I have searched on google for hours without finding a good and simple example of the comet technique using PHP. I just need an example that uses a persistent HTTP connection or something similar. I dont want to use a polling technique because I have something like that set up and not only is it difficult to work with and manage its a big hog of resources. Also I am using IIS7 not Apache. • Dynamically load nib for iPhone/iPad within view controller

  Hello I have converted an iPhone application using the wizard like thing in XCode into a universal app. It builds fine but obviously looks a bit rubbish in some areas :) I need to load nibs according to which device is being used. I dont wish to create my view controllers using initWithNib as I already have code to create the controllers with some data (initWithMyLovelyData) which doesnt do anything to do with nib loading. I know to find out the device you use UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOT() so I tried overriding the initWithNibName within the actual view controllers themselves, assuming they get called internally somehow. But it's not working as I guess I am unsure of the syntax. I have tried if(ipad..) self = [super initWithNibName:@"MyIpadNib" bundle:nibBundleOrNil]; And that doesnt work :/ EDIT - I know I have massively edited this, made my question a bit more specific after doing some more research - apologies!

  Hi ! I have a problem which I dont have a clue how to work around. Maybe anyone of you could help me to the correct directions... Simple I have a UITableView with each cell containing a UITextField. When I´m editing a cell (UITextField) and hit Return Key, a new row is inserted under the current cell. After that I reloadData on the TableView, the new row is showed. Everything is OK here. Now to my problem, I want to [UITextField becomeFirstResponder] on the newest added row. But I could not find anyway to accomplish this. I could post code but didn't find that necessary. Cheers.

• Java 1.4 to Java 6 migration

  Hi, I have some enterprise apps running on Java 1.4. They mostly invoke Stored Proces on DB, Parse XML files (Not too large files, at the most few megs), read/write from/to disk. We have a requirement where now we have to migrate these apps to Java 6(No code changes to be done at all). My questions: If I dont recompile my apps under Java 6 and just run them with it, will it work fine (I know they 'should'). But if somebody thinks other way round, could you kindly share your thoughts please? More important question is - Will it have any perfomance impact?. As in, App compiled on 1.4 and running on 1.6 vs App compiled and running on 1.6. Is 1.6 gonna do any bytecode optimization for the same old peace of code compared to 1.4? Many Thanks js

• UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum not working in iOS 4?

  Ive been using this function: (http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/uikit/reference/UIKitFunctionReference/Reference/reference.html#//apple_ref/c/func/UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum) ...to save a uiimage to the users photo album and it works great on everything except a 4.0 simulator, dont have a device to test on so it may be boned there as well. ive also tried it in both the latest xcode (3.2.3 gm seed) and a previous build of 3.2.3. can anyone confirm that this is still function is still "functional" in iOS 4. the documentation gives no indication that it would be removed and I havent seen anything in searches related to it.   I'll try to explain what Im after. I dont know the technical term for it, so here goes: Example 1: If I place a LisView on a Form and add som columns I am able, in Design-Time, to click-and-drag the columns to resize them. Example 2: Now, I place a ListView in a UserControl and name it "MyCustomListView" (and perhaps add some method to enhance it somehow). If I know place the "MyCustomListView" on a Form I am unable to click-and-drag the column headers to resize them in Design-Time. Is there any way to easily make that happen? Some form of "pass the click-and-drag event to the underlying control and let that control do its magic". Im not really looking to recode, just pass on the mouseclick (or whatever it is) and let the, in this case, ListView react as it did in the first example above. Regards

  My application needs to print invoices, then a get the invoice from database, insert informations os the invoice in a big string (tellling the line, column, etc). after this a have the string ready to be sent to a printer. My problem is: I need to put some ESC/P commands/characters in my big string i try to do something like this: char formFeed = (char)12; Convert.ToChar(12); MyBigString.Insert(10, formFeed); whit this, the line 10 will do a FormFeed, but this not work NOTE: i send the MybigString all at once to printer. to make my code works i need to send the data line by line to a printer ?   So I'm going around in circles with this - I'm using a fork of the Paperclip Rails gem to get it to work with Rails3. Works fine on my OSX box with Passenger. But on my server (CentOS 5) I get this this error: git://github.com/lmumar/paperclip.git (at rails3) is not checked out. Please runbundle install(Bundler::PathError)Blockquote I tried Bundle Pack, but that doesnt pack gems from github. I read a post about setting the parh to the BUNDLE_HOME in my application.rb file which I tried: ENV['BUNDLER_HOME']="~/.bundle/ruby/1.8/bundler/gems/" But that doesnt work. Any ideas anyone? I dont know what else to do and have no idea how to debug or trace the problem further :( Passenger version 2.2.11. thanks.

  Say I have a page that display search results. I search for stackoverflow and it returns 5000 results, 10 per page. What I'd like to do is <%=Html.BuildActionLinkUsingCurrentActionPostData ("Next", "Search", new { Page = 1}); where the anonymous dictionary overrides anything currently set by previous action. Essentially I care about what the previous action parameters were, because I want to reuse, it sounds simple, but start adding sort and loads of advance search options and it starts getting messy. • Best method of achieving bi-directional communication between Apple iPad "clients" and a Windows Ser

  We are currently starting to build a client-server system which will see 10 or more Apple iPad client devices communicating to a central Windows server over a wireless LAN. We wanted to some existing plumbing (.NET remoting/WCF/web services/etc) that would allow us to implement a reliable, secure solution without having to start at a low level (e.g. sockets) and recreate the wheel. One of the major requirements that complicates this scenario is that unlike a traditional web service, the windows server needs to be able to arbitrarily notify the clients whenever certain events occur -- so it is not a simple request/response scenario like the web. Initially, we were going to use Windows clients, so our plan was to use the full-duplex mode of .NET WCF over HTTP|TCP. But now using the iPad, we don't have any of the WCF infrastructure. So my question is: what is the best way to allow an iPad and a Windows server to (securely) communicate over a LAN, with each device able to initiate communication to the other? Am I stuck writing low-level socket code? Thanks!

  I am trying to start working with excel documents through the OpenXML SDK Spreadsheet API. But I havent found any good guides or even examples on how to create a xlsx file from scratch. Only how to open an existing document and modify it. I have been thinking on having a empty template document and make a copy of it an then begin my proccessing on it. But it doesent feel right. It might be easier but I not comfortable using a technique I dont feel that I understand "pretty" good atleast. I have developed a win mobile (v5.0) application and I use ONLY 1 database SQLITE with these references: System.Data.SQLite.dll (assembly version & product version : 1.0.65.0); SQLite.Interop.065.DLL (product version : 1.0 and is a c++ lib for first dll ). After 5 weeks of using of this application, I get today a weird exception and I dont understand what it is? Exception is: MissingMethodException Can`t find PInvoke DLL 'sqlceme30.dll ' at System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeCommand.ReleaseNativeInterfaces() at System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeCommand.Dispose(Boolean disposing) ...... What`s wrong? Anyone know about this to explain me please? By the way : until now I delevoped 3-4 applications (1 year ago )using these references and everything worked fine.

I made it but I came to the situation when the wsimport tool generates classes with methods with params for header(for authentication) and the params are not just simple types. But some complex.
